About: I found my kitten when he was two days old next to a tire in a parking lot - brought him home and had to bottle feed him every 2 hours. He’s now thriving over 4 months old! I also used to have a senior dog a couple of years ago (he passed at 17) who was in diapers, blind, and couldn’t really hear. I have experience with big dogs too (such as german shepherds). I’m a student and I’m currently taking online classes, so I have a good amount of free time, and would be more than happy to take care of your pets :) I don’t offer services in my own home, however, when pet sitting in yours, they will be watched closely and with much care! Your pet is the #1 priority.
About: Animals have always been my passion and your pet's well-being will always come first. I work in a very timely manner and am proactive to let you know about how your pet is doing! I split my time between providing services on Rover, and working at Contra Costa Animal Services. A portion of my proceeds from bookings is donated to the shelter each month.🐶🐱💕 I have open availability, my schedule is Sunday - Saturday, with earliest appointments at 8AM and latest at 8PM. I keep my calendar updated regularly. **Services from June-Sept will be extremely limited in availability due to medical leave** Caring for pets in your home requires trust and respect. I keep to the main community areas of your home and require access to one bathroom. I will assume any other place as off-limits unless otherwise specified. Supplies such as leashes, collars, harnesses, treats, etc. that you provide will be returned back to their original location. Keys can either be left in a hidden lock box or on my person - I take care to properly label and safely store any keys to ensure they are returned when my stay is over.

About: I have taken care of lots of different breeds of dogs and cats for many years, and always focus on creating a strong connection with both them and the owner. I attend college in the area, so I have lots of free time to spend with dogs and cats! I have always loved animals so I always make sure I have time for them! I am very attentive when it comes to taking care of a clients pet in their home. I make sure to pay attention to the exact details and requirements given to me so that both the owners and their pet feel safe, heard, and happy!

About: I am an insured pet care professional, and I bring the same kindness and thoughtfulness I would want someone to show my own pet. What sets me apart is that I’m dependable, attentive, and very detail-oriented. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality and routine, carefully follow your instructions, and keep you updated with plenty of photos and notes. My goal is simple: to help your pet feel safe, comfortable, loved, and genuinely well cared for whenever they’re with me. I cared for my own dog, Charlotte, for 10 years—from her puppy stage through her senior years—so I understand how much a dog’s needs can change over time. My experience with puppies began even earlier, when a neighbor who bred dogs trusted me to help care for her newborn litters. I understand the patience, consistency, and routine puppies need, including reinforcement of potty training, basic commands, leash manners, and good habits. I also know that senior dogs may need slower walks, extra time, and someone who pays attention to the little changes. I'm currently working part-time, so I will have the flexibility to walk your pet or drop in for your pet during the day while you are away. Looking forward to new clients! I currently provide care in my clients’ homes, where pets can remain comfortable in their familiar surroundings and routines. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions for walks, meals, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship. I take time to learn each pet’s personality, preferences, and needs, keep their space tidy, and send photos and written updates after every visit. All dog walks are private and on leash. At this time, I do not offer care in my own home, overnight stays, transportation, or medication administration.
About: I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, including my 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier and my young Labradoodle. Caring for dogs has been a part of my daily life for many years, and I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I also have experience teaching dogs basic obedience commands and helping puppies develop good habits and routines. My Labradoodle has been trained to follow a variety of commands, and I understand the importance of consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement. I am comfortable caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities, from energetic puppies to senior dogs. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, companionship, feeding, medication reminders, or simply a calm and loving environment, I will treat them as if they were my own. I know how important it is for pet parents to feel confident while they’re away, so I always provide attentive care, regular updates, and plenty of photos. I currently work part-time and often work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide attentive care throughout the day. Because I spend a lot of time at home, pets in my care receive plenty of supervision, companionship, potty breaks, exercise, and attention. I am available for walks, drop-in visits, daycare, and overnight care depending on your pet’s needs. I provide a calm, loving, and supervised environment and carefully follow each pet owner’s instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, crate routines, and special needs. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

“It was my first time using Rover and Kim made me feel at ease with the process. She was very flexible and communicative. My dog seem to adapt to Kim very quickly and looks like she enjoyed her walks. I will book with Kim again in the future if I need a dog walker.”

About: I've raised my 5 year old beagle-terrier rescue since he was 7 weeks old and my cat since she was 1.5 years old. Pets are so special and I always lead with care, tenderness, and a sensitivity to their routines. I have experience with potty training, oral medication administration, teaching basic commands like "sit" and "shake", & working with diverse breeds/sizes/ages/ability levels of dogs & cats. My goal is to create a safe, fun, peaceful environment for all pets, whether that's an extended walk around the park or a chill night in watching their favorite shows. I'm quite flexible for walks and drop-in visits Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. I am a Professor and teach once a week in the evening, with lots of time spent lecture-prepping and working on manuscripts. For my own pets, and for the pets I've cared for over the years, I strive to maintain their nutrition, exercise, & playtime routines as my first priority. Whether I am watching them for a few hours, or staying with them for several days, their comfort and safety is of the utmost importance! I value consistent communication with pet parents. For instance, photo/video updates on how their pets are doing.
“My German Shepard absolutely loves Katja. Katja is just amazing with him. He waits patiently at the door for her to show up to take him on walks every single time. It’s super adorable! Katja is so kind, fun and responsible. We love her and feel so lucky to have found her.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Saranap
Courtney did an excellent job of walking our senior dog, Ernie, for us this morning! She provided great communication, arrived on time and gave Ernie lots of attention. We could tell that Ernie immediately liked Courtney and seemed very comfortable and happy! 🐾💕

I wanted to write a new review since my last review was in May when I had my first walk by Emily. I wanted to come to rover and give an updated review. Emily is extremely caring and responsive. She gives detailed updates, sends cute pictures and takes really great care of my dog Ronnie (who is high energy and strong). I feel like I always can rely on her and will continue to use her moving forward as one of my dog walkers. thank you Emily for being so great.

We have had wonderful experiences working with Kelly. Our dog hasn’t had much exposure to new people and can be a bit nervous around strangers, but she was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding. She took the time to help our dog feel comfortable, and we were so impressed with how quickly trust developed. She was also extremely communicative, keeping us updated and answering any questions we had, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. In addition, Kelly has been very flexible and willing to help us coordinate dog sitting coverage during an important time for our family. Her reliability, professionalism, and genuine care for our dog has truly stood out. We are so grateful for her help and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate dog walker or pet sitter!

Selena S is amazing ! I needed help after I injured my ankle and couldn’t walk my dog Vito! Selena was so great in helping me feel comfortable about her walking my dog Vito. Selena is reliable, studious in the way she made contact for the times that was scheduled and great with Vito! Vito took to Selena immediately, he has great instincts! When she was schedule to come, I would tell him a few minutes before and he would stare out the window for her arrival! I would highly recommend her and be grateful to have her back again when we needed!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
