Compassionate Critter Caretaker
I have been doing overnight house-sitting with dogs for over 15 years. I work with animals as a full time job but do not have any pets of my own. I love dogs so much and love cuddling, playing, and walking with them. I find joy in keeping them company while their people are away. I am very skilled at reading the animal's energy and know when to push and when to back off. It is important to gently establish dominance in the relationship so that the dog can know who is in charge and feel more secure. I work at the Lindsay Wildlife Experience in Walnut Creek. Here is work with and handle live, California native wildlife. I work with them and do training with them to reinforce desired behaviors with positive reinforcement. Working with wild animals, it is very important that we key in and pay attention to the animal's body language and posture in order to avoid unpleasant or unwanted behaviors.

I will care for your animals in your home as instructed. I love taking dogs for walks and hikes, or to the local dog park. I am unable to care for animals in my home because I have a small apartment that already is home to two cats and two lizards.

Jessica is patient and kind, and these characteristics are important whether she’s housesitting or dog walking. She will let your dog enjoy their walk and won’t rush them just to get the job done. She understands that a walk is one of the best parts of your pet’s day and works hard to ensure they have a good time so you can focus on other things. Schedule
I am available for walking dogs any day of the week. I can walk throughout the day on Fridays-Mondays, and Tuesday-Thursdays I am avaiable in the late afternoons and early evenings. I can visit with cats on the same schedule.

- No breed preferences. I have watched dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages, and temperments. I like to know their favorite treats and what tricks they can perform, so that I can reinforce their training and interact with them in a positive way.
