“I’m so glad I found Christine. I needed a drop-in visit for my senior dog who is incontinent and needed a diaper change mid-day. She changed his diaper, gave him a snack and gave him, and my 2 cats some affection. She’ll be the first person I contact if I need help again.”

“Jen was fantastic! We booked a couple hour long drop-ins for our dog on short notice, and she was extremely attentive and communicative throughout. She actively engaged with our pup for the entire drop-in, sent us lots of updates, and was a total lifesaver. We would book her again in a heartbeat!”

“Shelly is a fantastic pet sitter and all around lovely human. My fur family was well taken care of and Shelly went above and beyond when the cat puke struck. Highly recommended!!”

“Zsa Zsa took great care of my kitty Kiwi! She made time to do a meet and greet and got all the details of everything that needed to be done for kiwi while I was away. She sent thorough updates and lots of photos which I really appreciate! She is very nice, personable and reliable”

“Chloe was incredible! From the moment we met Chloe in the meet and greet we could tell she had the right energy to take good care of our beloved cat. We had to find a sitter last minute to travel for a family emergency and Chloe stepped in and was so communicative, sweet with our sometimes nervous cat, and was so respectful of our home; it put us at peace for the entire trip away.”

“Alix was a great communicator and a wonderful sitter for my two ladies. Her thoughtful questions showed that she took extra care in making sure they were safe and well looked after. Thank you!”

“We feel so fortunate to have connected with Shanley when we relocated to the area. She is absolutely amazing and I felt comfortable trusting her with our cats and home from the moment we met. She was always punctual and provided detailed visit notes and the best photos! We will absolutely engage Shanley’s services the next time we travel.”

“Richard was great! He was friendly, professional and an excellent communicator. My cats loved him and he sent cute photos of their time together. I recommend Richard as a sitter!”

About: Ciao! My name is Matt and I'm very excited to have the opportunity to meet you and some of the amazing pets we have here in the city. I currently live near the rose garden/Piedmont. I live close to several other parks, and I always enjoy meeting new pet friends that come my way. I really don't have many restrictions, but all I ask is that if you are interested in meeting to discuss my services that we have great communication (whether it's email, call/text, etc.) I work from home during the week and actively get outside myself, so I'm sure we could work something out if you need help with your pet! Comfort and exercise go hand-in-hand in my experience. Play time and treats are always possible. Companionship is a must and routine is our next best friend.
“Thomas was great with our boy Hercules! We booked him super last minute so we really appreciated his flexibility in navigating that and showing up when we needed him. Hercules had a blast with him too! We will be rebooking with Thomas - highly recommend!”

About: I grew up with cats, at one point having three in the family house. Later, I became a dog lover after rescuing a very high-energy Terrier mix. I have availability many weekday afternoons as well as weekends (flexible timing/open availability). The more advanced notice I receive, the better I can accommodate your schedule. Happy to take care of your pet and keep them company, while respecting your space. Please let me know of any particular concerns during booking.

About: I’m a loving doggie aunt to some pretty fantastic pups. But I’m always jealous of the ppl out walking their dogs. Since I don’t have one of my own… let me walk yours! I’m currently a laid off copywriter looking to make some extra income. For the time being, my time is very flexible as I look for full time work. Before that, I worked remotely and still had time to step away from my desk. I’m a 54 year old woman who held a six figure job. I’m dependable, honest, and on top of it. I know how to handle myself in an emergency, and I’m very respectful of people’s homes. The most important thing is I’ll be kind to your pets—your most treasured assets.

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I've cared for pets of all sizes: from large malamutes and energetic huskies to cats, rabbits, fish, and even turtles. I have experience with a wide variety of personalities, temperaments, and care needs, and I take pride in following your care instructions exactly as requested. If your pet requires a specialized diet, medication, extra patience, or simply their favorite play routine, I'll make sure they receive the attentive care they deserve. During visits, I'll provide plenty of attention and playtime, keep food and water fresh, clean litter boxes, tidy up any messes, and make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I work from home most days of the week and have a flexible schedule that allows me to take breaks throughout the day to make time for your pet. My goal is to keep your pet's routine as normal as possible and make them safe and reduce stress while you're away. I'll let them take the lead as we get to know each other.
About: I've been taking care of pups and kitties since I was about 8 yrs old! I've learned how to identify triggers and/or warning signs with this experience. Hello ☺️ I just moved to the Bay Area and I'm a pawrent to one pup and two kitties! I just got my degree in Video Production/Film and will be freelancing when I can, which means my schedule is very open!! My current availability for drop-in visits and pup walking is Monday- Sunday 6am-10pm, unless it's a blocked out date. I would prefer to have a meet & greet before any booking. This helps me understand how to properly care for each pet. I always want to make sure that each furry friend, fur parent, and myself feels comfortable before hand. Whenever I drop in to visit, I make sure to do what ever is asked in regards to caring for your furry babies! Potty breaks. Making sure they are fed. Cuddle sessions! And of course making sure that I leave everything how it was before I arrived.
About: I’ve spent much of my life caring for animals and genuinely love earning their trust. In high school, I worked in dog and cat boarding at a local veterinary practice, where I gained hands on experience caring for pets with different personalities, temperaments, and needs. Since then, I’ve continued pet and house sitting for friends, family, and clients, volunteered with shelter dogs and cats through the PSPCA, and cared for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, iguanas, ducks, quail, chickens, and fish. After spending the past eight months traveling and pet sitting, I’ve recently made the Bay Area my home. While I’m new to Rover, I’m not new to caring for pets. My goal is simple: to give you peace of mind while you’re away. I’ll care for your pets like family, communicate thoughtfully, and leave your home just as clean and cared for as you left it. My schedule is currently very flexible! I am especially interested in connecting with those in need of in home sitters while I am traveling, but open to day time walks and visits as well. I am a former real estate broker, used to have my own small business. I am taking some time out to work on my art, learn some tech skills, and travel. I am not able to care for pets in my home at this time as my apartment would require a hefty deposit. I am looking forward to working and traveling while using this app!
“Avery was great! Our cats just loved her as shown in the photos we received. She was on time, followed instructions, kept everything clean, and was a great communicator. We felt safe leaving our pets in her hand. We highly recommend Avery and will definitely book her again.”

About: I love all the dogs and have been walking dogs and house sitting for over 20 years. I was a pup parent for many years to my ride or die Colonel Peanut who passed in 2020. Point Isabel is one of my favorite places! I love meeting new pups and dog walking and sitting is a joy because I get to hang with dogs and be outside. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule to fit your pets needs. I can accommodate last minute booking so please don’t hesitate to reach out. I know what it’s like to be a pet parent so I will treat your pet or home as my own. I will make sure all the check boxes are checked like refilling water, sharing snacks and cleaning litter or going for walks.

Fernando is my go to cat sitter for my 2 cats! This last booking, I went out of town for a few weeks and was so grateful that he was able to watch my cats to make me feel at ease during a longer trip. He does a great job caring for both my cats that have very different personalities and provides helpful and funny updates. Highly recommend!! :)

Vaneesha was great with my cat and was able to help me on very short notice. She was responsive and replied quickly. I even had the wrong address on my account and she went there to drop in with my cat. When we found out she was at the wrong address, she handled it with ease and grace. She was very sweet with my cat and I highly recommend her.

This is my first time booking Rover for my 2 kitties and I’m so glad to have gone with Nandini! She’s been super accommodating with my last minute booking and also very caring and sweet to my babies. It didn’t take them long to open up at all ☺️ she’s very reliable and also shared the cutest check-in photos of them. I’d definitely book with her again when I’m out of town!

Rich was a great find for us, he opened up his calendar for our last minute need to watch two kitties, also fed our fish and gave us adorable updates with every visit. Very friendly, easy to get along with and instantly gives you comfortable to leave my treasured pets with kind of feel. Highly recommend!

Shelly was fantastic! Not only was she punctual and communicative about her visits, but the photos she took of Peanut were legit amazing. I could tell they were having fun and she was genuinely keeping my kitty company. Not to mention her captions were so cute. Being away from my cat is not fun but seeing updates from Shelly always warmed my heart and that she was having fun while I was away!

We absolutely loved having Devyn care for our cat! She is such a sweet and gentle animal lover, and we were so happy knowing our baby was in good hands. Devyn gave her lots of cuddles and attention while we were away and kept us updated with plenty of photos and detailed notes. We really appreciated how communicative and thoughtful she was, and we’d definitely book with her again! ❤️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Piedmont. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
