“At the meet and greet Tina gently introduced herself to Chilli, listened closely as we toured our home, took notes asked questions. She followed the written instructions we left for her and confirmed additional instructions we texted after we left for our trip. She texted us pictures of Chilli with updates. She also went beyond her responsibilities and checked for ants that had invaded our home before we left for our trip. She exceeded our expectations and we’ll definitely schedule her again soon!”

“Tinwan and JieYing took thoughtful, amazing care of my cat. They were very conscientious and followed my instructions exactly. PLUS they sent beautiful photos. This was the first time I've used a sitter and it was so reassuring to know my cat was in good hands. I highly recommend these two - and have told my family and friends (all cat owners) how successfully this went.”

“Lia did an incredible job taking care of my 2 cats. She was great at communicating and providing updates/pictures on how my cats were doing. I felt comfortable leaving them in her care during my short vacation.”

About: I love playing with dogs! They are so fun to play with. Of course, I do make sure they are well fed and that they’ve gone on their walks. I like to make sure their feeding area is clean so that they don’t pick any germs or parasites and get sick. If they have medication to take, I will happily give it to them without any fear of them potentially biting me or being a bit aggressive. I am free at various times. I do attend university, so I may be unavailable at certain times. However, I am happy to work with you and your pet at whatever time is best. I like to ask questions regarding their pets routine, conditions, etc. It helps me get to know more about the owner as well as their companion. I will always make sure their pet feels safe and that they can trust me. I like to greet myself with pets by holding my hand out for them to smell so that I can pet them with their permission.
“Daria was amazing with our cat! She spent a good amount of time getting to know her and playing with her. We came back to a happy kitty! I would highly recommend Daria to any cat parent looking for a responsible and caring sitter.”

I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe and comfortable, and I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and attention. I have a flexible schedule and can provide reliable pet care throughout the week. I enjoy spending time with animals and will make sure your pet receives the attention, care, and companionship they need while you’re away. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can travel with peace of mind.

“Alisha was great. Looked after our ShihTzu for a few days (fairly last minute on a holiday weekend) which was much appreciated! She sent updates with the cutest pictures and made sure Hannah had everything she needed plus some. Came home to a happy pup. I will definitely use Alisha’s services again if she is still available in the future. Thanks again Alisha!”

“Kim took excellent care of our two kitties with drop-in visits. She followed instructions to a tee and offered to go above and beyond with additional housekeeping tasks. She even brought our cats special Christmas treats! She wrote very entertaining and thorough summaries, and the cat photos were of phenomenal quality.”

About: Hi, Meghan here, I have always been a dog-lover. I live in Oakland with my mom, a fellow dog-lover! We allow our furry friends on the couch, but can also work on furniture-boundaries if your pooch isn't allowed on furniture at your own home. I work from home, so I'll be home most of the day during the weekdays. The longest your pup will be home alone (with my pups) is around 5 hours. We are comfortable with big dogs, and can give medications, and can brush your pooch as well! Here's a little about us: Meghan has been a dog-lover since birth. She grew up with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Treesa loves pups of all sizes! About my yard We have a fenced backyard. My experience administering medication We are comfortable administering oral medication. **We do have a Potty Clause. We understand accidents happen, and are very forgiving, as pups are often excited and can't help themselves at first. However, we have occasionally had extreme repeat offenders. We take dogs on the basis that they are potty trained. If we feel there are an excessive number of indoor incidents, we will let you know, and ask for a $10 additional fee (per week, or fraction thereof), to cover the cost of laundry and cleaning supplies.** Thanks! I work from home so your pup will hang out with me at home, join me on walks, and get to spend the day with me! I have a fenced yard. Security gate at my back door means fresh air without escape opportunity. We're working on installing a dog door, so that should happen later this year!
“We love having Angie! She always does an amazing job caring for our boy while we’re away! She has great communication skills and is always on top of everything! We will use her again and again and recommend her for anyone needing someone trustworthy to love and care for their pet!”

I work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and am available for pet care visits after work. I have weekends off and can provide flexible care during that time. Pet care is already part of my daily routine, and I enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they are happy, safe, and well cared for. I follow each pet’s routine, including feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, playtime, and companionship. I ensure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
About: As avid dog lovers with over 15 years of experience, we've cared for various breeds, including our own Shih Tzu who sadly passed away last year. We also frequently looked after our brother’s French Bulldog, who happily reunited with our Shih Tzu, and a Siberian Husky, along with other family dogs. Living in a pet-friendly community with ample grassy areas, your pups will have plenty of space to roam and play. Before your drop-off, we'd love to arrange a meet and greet to acquaint ourselves with you and your furry companions! This is not our first time on Rover. We have been dog-sitting on Rover for about 3 years. The first two years were under a different account with our mom because of age. So we did it together with our parents and were very happy with both animal and human clientele who were just as happy with our services. If you would like to see reviews from then I can send over those Rover Account details as well! We understand the importance of ensuring both you and your beloved pets have peace of mind while you're away, and we're dedicated to providing them with a safe and enjoyable experience under our care! We are currently completely free, accommodating both weekdays and weekends. Our days will be completely catered to the needs of your babies. We understand the importance of convenience, offering flexible pick-up and drop-off times, including same-day services. Whether it's a weekday, weekend, or holiday, we're here to ensure seamless care for your beloved pets. We offer a fenced backyard patio and expansive grassy areas within our community, and we're happy to provide photos of the surroundings upon request prior to booking. Alternatively, we can arrange a meet and greet so you can explore our dog-friendly and secure neighborhood firsthand. Our area boasts ample walking spaces and provides poop bags for your convenience. For crate-trained dogs, we recommend bringing their crate to ensure their comfort. Additionally, please bring any items that will help your dog feel at ease and secure during their stay. If your dog requires medication, be sure to bring it along. While we do offer some dog treats, feel free to bring your pup's favorites to ensure they feel right at home. Your pets' comfort and safety are our top priorities, and we strive to make their stay as enjoyable as possible!
“Natalia took great care of our cats. Even our more cautious and anxious cat, who normally hides from new people, warmed up to her in just a few days. We'd definitely book her again.”

“Another great experience having Vanessa check in on my cat Snorri. She is reliable, a great communicator with her detailed Rover reports and pics, and overall a thoughtful and nice person. When I'm away, I never worry and have a piece of mind that my kitty and home are safe and in great caring hands. Highly recommended!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was around 9 years old. Grew up with 5 dogs, rabbits, chickens, and iguanas. Have always had an aptitude for being a dog whisperer and I am an overall active person. I have had 5 litters of puppies growing up and just recently had a litter of white labs. Love going to the beach, going on trail runs, and biking. I specialize in diet and exercise as I was a Kinesiology major in college so I am health conscientious and take great pride in an animals healthy diet. All sorts of healthy treats and specialized exercise for your pets! I took a break from the corporate world so your pet is my priority. I like to take 2 walks per day but I have no problem going for runs on trails. Once in morning and once in the afternoon. Usually feed my dog twice per day after walks so whatever is your preference just let me know! I have a 2 bedroom house with a fenced backyard. Dependent upon your preference I can house your pet inside as I have plenty of space in the living room and spare bedroom. In your home I’d have outmost respect with whatever you are comfortable with. Just let me know whatever routine your canine friend has. I can easily follow instructions and create a schedule for your canine friend.
“Charlette was so awesome with my dog Millicent! My dog can be a little stand-offish. Charlette managed to gain Millicent's trust and took such excellent care of my baby. I will definitely be booking with her again. 😊”

We hit the jackpot with Alisha as our stand-in cat parent when we are out of town!! Excellent communication, utmost professionalism and so thoughtful. Our cats were very well taken care of and Alisha went above and beyond to cover things like the mail and garbage day. We look forward to working with her continuously. Thank you so much Alisha!
Jonathan was great. I was on an 8 day deep sea fishing trip and had no way to communicate while out to sea. But when I made it back to civilization I was pleased to receive photos and videos from Jonathan from each day I was gone which set me at ease knowing my kitties were fine and in good hands. I'll definitely be using Jonathan again and would recommend him to anyone needing help with their furry friends.

My husband and I highly recommend Zen! She has been great with our two cats, who are young and playful but also have special diets and require extra care. She is diligent, communicative, and thoughtful. Plus she even won over our little scaredy-cat!! What a gem! Thanks Zen!

Lia was an excellent communicator throughout the petsitting process and made me feel very safe about leaving my beloved cat son in her care! She clearly loves animals and knows a lot about how to care for them—including those with special medical needs. I will definitely be booking with her again in the future and would highly recommend her care.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in San Leandro. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
