“Cyvanah was wonderful with my baby boi Hilo. I especially appreciated the multiple photos and summaries of each day from Cyvanah. It put my mind at ease and I looked forward to each update while away. She bonded with my kitton spectacularly and he was cuddling on her lap in no time. She has a way with cats and I would trust Cyvanah with any fur baby of mine. She is professional, punctual and a great communicator.”

About: *I only board dogs from one home at a time* I love to jog around Lake Merritt, and I'd be happy to take your fur baby along for a run! I've cared for dogs and cats, healthy and sick, with very specific dietary restrictions and activity needs. I wish I could have my own pet, but since I travel pretty often, this is the next best thing. :-) I’m a Product Manager with a hybrid work schedule. Rest assured, I can easily get from work to home on in-office days for walks/drop-ins if needed. I also work at a dog friendly office. I am available most days for drop-ins 2x/day. On weekday evenings, I typically go on runs (with/without dogs!). Expect many photos of your fur baby while you're away! I'm happy to drop in to check on food, water, litter (for cats), and take your pup on walks. I am very detail oriented, so if you have very particular instructions regarding diet or preferences while outside, you can trust me to follow them. For boarding, I have bowls for water and food as well as doggy waste bags. You would need to provide their food, treats, toys, (litter for kitties), and anything else to make their stay more comfortable!
“Went above and beyond taking care of our babies, looking forward to working with Kevin soon again! So grateful for all all he has done thus far, and additionally isvery impressive with follow ups, app guidance, and punctuality!”

“Ayanna took great care of my 2 cats! She was very responsive, sent videos to check how she gave my cat medication, and lots of photos, I’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Fuliang did a great job. I felt my cat Alba was well cared for. I got a nice detailed report on the last day. Could have used a picture of my cat everyday but otherwise I am a very satisfied customer and will use this sitter again for my pet sitting needs.”

“I was super stressed about finding a sitter for my 11 week old pup last minute for an all day training at work, and even more nervous about having a stranger visit my place! But Alejandra had fantastic reviews and even initiated meet & greet, which I really appreciated. And when she came to meet me and MoMo - boy, did my puppy LOVE her immediately, which made ME love her too!! :) Finally, on the day of the appointment, Alejandra showed up on time, followed all my requests, and took such good care of my puppy for an hour. TYSM Alejandra, I will book with you again next time MoMo needs a sitter!! ❤️❤️❤️”

About: I adore dogs. I can’t have my own so I cherish every moment! I’ve done a good amount of dog sitting/ walking both small and large dogs. We have a great time, I love playing with them, taking them out as many times a day as they like, and having sleepovers to keep them company. I have a pretty flexible schedule so I am often able to make lots of different times/days work. Weekends are totally fine for me as well. In my house I only have space for a small dog. I have two cats. I am able to take them on as many walks as they need a day, play with them, cuddle them, make sure they’re comfy and having a good time. At a clients house it is similar except any size dog or cat is good for me!
“I just really have to commend Lauren for coming to my rescue at the 11th hour! This was my first time booking through Rover. I didn’t provide enough lead time as I should have for a meet and greet, but she was able to accommodate my schedule and do one the same day that I booked. I truly appreciated that! Lauren was amazing with Queen and Titan! They quickly warmed up to her and loved playing and interacting with her. Lauren sent a thorough report with pictures. Definitely made me feel relieved that they were well taken care of while I was away. We can’t wait to book her again!”

About: While I'm new to Rover, I have over 10 years experience taking care of my friends and family's cats, dogs, insects, and plants. I'm excited to start this business on Rover and extend that pet/plant care to the people in my East Bay community! I'm a landscape horticulture student in Oakland, so when I'm not in class, working in my garden, or spending time with my own kitties, I love taking care of my friends, neighbors, and families' pets. They bring so much silliness and happiness into my routine! When walking your dogs or taking care of your pets in your home, respect, safety, and trust are my top priorities. The pet parents I work with know their pets best, and I take their guidance and wishes very seriously. When I'm housesitting, I treat clients' homes with even more respect than I treat my own.
“Akiko was extremely responsive and went above and beyond. Our cat clearly loved her too! Akiko exhibited outstanding professionalism and genuine care for our pet. Can’t thank her enough.”

“If we could leave more than 5 stars we would. Alyssa gave good vibes dome the jump. Once the visits started we got follow-up questions, plenty of photos, and updates, Alyssa was a phenomenal sitter with great communication. We could tell the kitties were in such great hands, because they didn't even run up to the door for cuddles when we got home. That has never happened. We appreciated the care Alyssa took to sweep up the litter too because no other rover sitter we've had has done that.”

“Jessica did a great job looking after Kiwi. She was able to coax her out to play by day 2, which is an impressive fear for any sitter as she is usually quite shy. Very punctual and timely rover cards made me feel much more reassured about Kiwi on our trip!”

“Diana is the best. I've needed her help on more than one occasion and she is always professional, friendly, and thorough with communication. If you need a sitter for your cat (or dog), there is no better option!”

“Adela was great! She took excellent care of the cats and gave us regular updates, along with adorable pictures! She was also flexible and understanding when our plans changed unexpectedly!”

We miss having our own fur babies around, so we’re excited to share our home and plenty of love with yours! Whether it’s long walks, playtime, or cozy downtime, your dog will be treated like family ❤️ Our weekdays are structured yet flexible, and our weekends are completely dedicated to pets. About: I have had animals my whole life and have volunteered at animal shelters and rescues. I love animals and will take care of your baby like I would my own. I will be in school full-time starting in the new semesters and am at home most days. I am also available for pet sitting and boarding on my days off. I have a small fenced yard for potty breaks. I also have a crate available in the home if needed. My 8 year old chihuahua will help keep your dog entertained and she loves other dogs.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, from growing up with a schnauzer to now raising Denali, my 10-year-old St. Bernard. Caring for a giant senior dog has taught me so much about patience, attentiveness, mobility needs, routines, and just how important comfort and companionship become as dogs get older. I also have experience dog sitting dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. For the past year, I’ve regularly cared for Cooper, a Maltese/Yorkie mix, sometimes for weeks at a time while his family is away. I genuinely love spending quality time with dogs; not just making sure they’re fed and walked, but making sure they feel safe, stimulated, loved, and understood. I believe a dog’s world is only as big as we help make it, so I care a lot about enrichment, affection, play, exploration, and giving them moments that make their days feel full and exciting. Whether your dog is energetic, anxious, playful, cuddly, tiny, giant, or entering their senior years, I’ll care for them with the same warmth and attention I give my own💖 My schedule is very flexible during mornings and regular daytime working hours, which allows me to be available for walks, drop-ins, playtime, companionship, and daytime care throughout the week. Whether your pet needs a midday walk, company while you’re at work, or extra attention during the day, I’d love to help 💖 I’m available to pick up your pet for walks or provide care directly in your home, where they feel safest and most comfortable. I know how important trust, routine, and environment can be for dogs, so I always try to make their experience feel calm, familiar, and stress-free 🐶🐈

About: I grew up with family cats and dogs and adopted my own puppy at 17 and quickly realized how much work a pet of your own is! I’ve been lucky to live with cats and dogs of roommates of all dispositions (both the roommates and their pets) and now have a charmer of a big orange cat with my fiancé. I’m comfortable with puppies over 3 months old and mostly potty trained, I don’t mind mouthy or jumpy pups and am happy to discourage behaviors according to their training. I’ve had experience with palliative care for two beloved senior dogs that required a little extra help and care and am happy to show your old buddy patience and TLC. Happy to do easy walks around the block or take longer adventures in Oakland’s redwoods! For cats and dogs I am comfortable administering most medications. I’m currently on a long break from full time work and have open week day availability for walks and visits, and can be available weekends with extended notice Ask someone who always wants pictures of my cat, I am happy to send you as many photos of your pet as you would like! I have a keen attention to detail and an above average ability to follow instructions, and I’m happy to do things your way. I have a backseat dog hammock for my car that make sure dogs of all sizes are able to get comfortable.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Oakland
Yen did an absolutely incredible job looking after our cat while we were away on vacation. Her daily updates were a pleasure to receive, with cute kitty pictures and helpful status updates. I got the impression upon returning that our cat was very well taken care of, and, as a bonus, there was no litter mess for us to clean up. Yen will definitely be our first call for any future kitty care needs while we’re out of town!

Another amazing experience with Kathy! She always arrives right on time and provides such detailed, attentive care. We especially love the updates and the beautiful pictures she sends, they really give us peace of mind while we’re away. Most importantly, our cat absolutely loves her, which says everything. It’s clear she truly cares. We’re so grateful to have someone we can trust like Kathy!

Ayanna was the perfect pick for my boy’s first Rover! She provided many excellent photos and videos with each visit along with details on his mood, energy level, what he was up to, etc. She was super friendly, easy going, and just as chill as my old man. Highly recommend her stellar sitting services!

Reijun is detail oriented, meticulously neat, and sweet to my 2 cats! She took notes during our meet & greet to make sure she didn't miss any instructions. The cats were happy and our home was neat when we returned from our trip. Would definitely book her again!

Bryanna did an outstanding job taking care of Mellie. Bryanna was so kind, friendly, and thoughtful when it came to communication. She listened and took notes during our meet up so she’d know exactly what to do. Bryanna fed Mellie her “special foods” as instructed, took time to play with her, and let her have outside time. Also our kitty is normally so shy but Mellie warmed right up to her. Will definitely hire her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
