About: I've been pet sitting/babysitting/house sitting since I was young. I am very reliable and have no problem communicating any problems that arise or questions I may have. I have experience in family/house management as well. Let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to hearing from you! My fiancee and I just moved to the area, so I have lots of free time and availability to give each pet the time they deserve. I am extremely reliable and am willing to work with any schedule and around when you would prefer your pets have attention and their needs taken care of. I understand how important pets are in someone's life and it's a serious responsibility.

About: Let me give you some peace of mind and your cuties some love while you are away. Aversive Free | Insured Pet Care Professional New to the app but I’ve been caring for friends’ pets for the last 15 years. Freshly unemployed so my books are wide open at the moment. Get in with your preferred service times while my schedule is still clear, around the clock availability. First time clients, please provide your pet’s vaccination records. I must receive vaccine confirmation prior to any physical contact with your pet. Additionally, all introductions to dogs must take place outside of the home to allow for decompression/emotional regulation time and to gauge comfort/trust levels before entering their home. If you employ aversive methods and/or equipment against your pet I cannot accept your request for pet care services. I kindly ask that you seek services from an alternate care provider, thank you. For the time being I only offer services based in clients’ homes as I have two large dogs in my home. In the future for long term dog care clients, we can explore day care or play dates once trust is established for everyone involved. Until then, I am happy to provide one on one time and undivided attention for your cats and dogs while you are away.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs & cats of all sizes for several years, and I look forward to helping you & your furry family members next! Whether it be 1:1 walks, positive reinforcement training, or simply providing your animal with a companion while you’re away, I’m here to help out! I am able to work from home most days. In fact, I am only in the office one day each week. So, this allows me to have lots of time to host your pet for boarding OR to do check-ins as needed. So, let me know how I can best help out! I am a huge proponent of safety in and around my home. As such, I always make sure the environment is free of choking hazards or items that could get a pet into trouble. I also make sure that I am up to date on preventative cleaning and care for animals.

About: *I only board pets from one home at a time and do not own any pets myself!* I love to jog around Lake Merritt, and I'd be happy to take your fur baby along for a run! I've cared for dogs and cats, healthy and sick, with very specific dietary restrictions and activity needs. I wish I could have my own pet, but since I travel pretty often, this is the next best thing. :-) I’m a Product Manager with a hybrid work schedule. Rest assured, I can easily get from work to home on in-office days for walks/drop-ins if needed. I also work at a dog friendly office. I am available most days for drop-ins 2x/day. On weekday evenings, I typically go on runs (with/without dogs!). Expect many photos of your fur baby while you're away! I'm happy to drop in to check on food, water, litter (for cats), and take your pup on walks. I am very detail oriented, so if you have very particular instructions regarding diet or preferences while outside, you can trust me to follow them. For boarding, I have bowls for water and food as well as doggy waste bags. You would need to provide their food, treats, toys, (litter for kitties), and anything else to make their stay more comfortable!
“Vaneesha was great with Sky! We did a meet-and-greet and I asked her to come by 2x a day. I felt a lot less guilty leaving for my trip with the photos she sent me and the time she spent with Sky. She was also flexible and quick to respond when my trip got extended. Thank you Vaneesha! 🙏”

“So lovely and patient with our nervous German Shepherd. Chloe did a meet and greet before her visits which was a wonderful way for our dog to meet her and made us a lot more comfortable. Would highly recommend!”

“Sofia is an outstanding sitter! I highly recommend her! She’s very kind, communicative, and went above and beyond for my doggie while we were away for a week. The photos and commentary kept my mind at ease and Carter looked like he was enjoying every moment. I’ve booked multiple sitters on Rover, and Sofia is my new favorite by far. Thank you so much for caring for Carter the way I would ♥️”

About: Hello! My name is Shanna (like banana) a non-profit consultant based in the Bay Area. I love animals and have lots of experience caring for pets (cats and dogs) either in your home or at my house. I'm interested in helping you feel peace of mind knowing that your fur friend is taken care of. Please ask me any questions. I'm looking for opportunities that make sense with my schedule, and I'm happy to accommodate your needs. Thank you for your consideration. I'm currently working on a contract basis and primarily remote so I have time to stop by your home or house-sit as long as there is reliable Wi-Fi. Typically, when pet-sitting for friends, I will feed, walk, or change out litter boxes as often as needed. If I am not staying at the owner's home full-time, I will make sure the animal gets sufficient interaction and love daily. If an animal is staying in my home during the day, I have a fenced-in, locked yard (though I generally wouldn't have an animal outside without me) and there is also a dog-friendly park less than two blocks from my home.

About: I’m a loving doggie aunt to some pretty fantastic pups. But I’m always jealous of the ppl out walking their dogs. Since I don’t have one of my own… let me walk yours! I’m currently a laid off copywriter looking to make some extra income. For the time being, my time is very flexible as I look for full time work. Before that, I worked remotely and still had time to step away from my desk. I’m a 54 year old woman who held a six figure job. I’m dependable, honest, and on top of it. I know how to handle myself in an emergency, and I’m very respectful of people’s homes. The most important thing is I’ll be kind to your pets—your most treasured assets.
“Akiko was extremely responsive and went above and beyond. Our cat clearly loved her too! Akiko exhibited outstanding professionalism and genuine care for our pet. Can’t thank her enough.”

About: Hi, I'm Corinne! I'm an Oakland-based yoga teacher, writer, and aerial dancer with more than 8 years of professional pet-sitting experience. Caring for animals is one of my favorite parts of what I do, and I love getting to know each pet's unique personality, routines, and quirks. Since I began housesitting in 2018, I've cared for dozens of dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, and temperaments—including energetic puppies, senior pets, reactive or anxious dogs, and pets who need medication or other specialized care. As a yoga teacher, I'm naturally patient, observant, and attentive. I enjoy taking the time to earn an animal's trust, notice changes in their behavior, and adapt to the pace that helps them feel safest and most comfortable. I split my work between teaching in person and working from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend plenty of quality time with the pets in my care. I'm organized, dependable, and comfortable learning new care routines, administering medication, and providing regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and well cared for. When caring for pets in their own homes, I treat every home with the same respect I give the animals, and I always strive to leave your home just as clean—or even cleaner—than I found it. I’m a yoga teacher, writer, and aerial dancer, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to build my days around the pets in my care. My schedule includes a mix of teaching in person and working from home, so I’m able to provide plenty of companionship, attention, and consistency for your pets. For overnight stays, I love creating a calm, home-like routine—morning walks, playtime, meals, enrichment, and plenty of cuddles or quiet companionship depending on your pet’s personality. For drop-in visits, I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine and make sure they receive the care, attention, exercise, and affection they need while you’re away. I’m organized and communicative, and I take the time to understand your pet’s unique needs, habits, and preferences so their routine feels as familiar and comfortable as possible. When caring for pets in their own home, my goal is always to create a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment that feels familiar to them. I know how important it is to trust someone with your home and your animals, and I treat every space with the same care and respect I would want for my own. Before each sit, I take time to learn your pet’s routine, personality, triggers, preferences, and any special care instructions. I’m comfortable administering medication, caring for senior or anxious pets, and adapting my approach to each animal’s individual needs. As a yoga teacher, I’m naturally patient, observant, and attentive to small changes in behavior and energy. I focus on building trust at your pet’s pace—whether that means an adventurous walk, a playful session, or simply being a calm presence nearby. I’m also happy to provide regular updates, photos, and videos so you can feel connected and confident that your pets and home are in good hands.

Vaneesha was great with Sky! We did a meet-and-greet and I asked her to come by 2x a day. I felt a lot less guilty leaving for my trip with the photos she sent me and the time she spent with Sky. She was also flexible and quick to respond when my trip got extended. Thank you Vaneesha! 🙏

Rich was a great find for us, he opened up his calendar for our last minute need to watch two kitties, also fed our fish and gave us adorable updates with every visit. Very friendly, easy to get along with and instantly gives you comfortable to leave my treasured pets with kind of feel. Highly recommend!

Shelly was fantastic! Not only was she punctual and communicative about her visits, but the photos she took of Peanut were legit amazing. I could tell they were having fun and she was genuinely keeping my kitty company. Not to mention her captions were so cute. Being away from my cat is not fun but seeing updates from Shelly always warmed my heart and that she was having fun while I was away!

We absolutely loved having Devyn care for our cat! She is such a sweet and gentle animal lover, and we were so happy knowing our baby was in good hands. Devyn gave her lots of cuddles and attention while we were away and kept us updated with plenty of photos and detailed notes. We really appreciated how communicative and thoughtful she was, and we’d definitely book with her again! ❤️

Celeste cared for our two cats while we were out of town and we had a great experience with her. She provided thorough updates and followed all instructions. We came home to happy cats and felt comfortable with her caring for them and our house. Definitely would book again!

Marian was the most incredible cat sitter I could have asked for. Not only did she work with me on short notice and was patient with my changing travel plans, she helped my cat to recover from surgery. She was able to give him the medications that my mom (my backup sitter) struggled with, she was communicative, and even sent videos of her giving my cat a mini-facial. She even brought over specially blended food when my cat was struggling to eat. I can't recommend Marian enough. So professional and trustworthy and kind!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
