Since I’m not working a traditional 9–5 job at the moment, I have a very open schedule. This allows me to be available throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, or extended pet sitting, and it means I can give your pets consistent care without feeling rushed.

My 6-year-old tuxedo cat, Jester, is definitely spoiled (in the best way!). He has plenty of toys to keep him entertained, and he’s welcome to nap and sleep on my bed at night. I make sure he’s fed a high-quality diet, limit treats and people food, and keep his flea and tick prevention up to date so he stays healthy and happy. I believe pets deserve both love and structure, so I balance snuggles and playtime with good care routines. The way I take care of Jester is the same way I’ll care for your pets. I believe in giving them attention, affection, and comfort while also keeping up with their routines and health needs. That means plenty of playtime and cuddles, regular walks or feedings on schedule, and making sure medications, treats, or special diets are followed exactly as you’d like. I’ll respect your home and your pet’s routines so they feel safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away I also carry pet sitter insurance through Pet Sitters Associates, providing coverage for bodily injury, property damage, pet injuries, any other occurrences that may happen when your pet is under my care

A typical day with your pet starts with a warm greeting and a check of their food, water, and overall mood. For dogs, I enjoy walks, playtime, and any training routines you’ve established. If your dog is comfortable with dog park visits, I'm happy to take them for some socialization and make sure that any personal socialization I do doesn't get in the way of keeping my eye on them. For cats, I make sure they have plenty of toys, cozy spots to nap, and gentle attention on their schedule. I follow any feeding instructions, administer medications if needed, and make sure pets of all ages—young, senior, or special-needs—feel safe and comfortable. Throughout the day, I give plenty of love, cuddles, and companionship so your pet feels happy and secure while you’re away, and I send updates so you can see how they’re doing.

Hi, I’m Rich! I’ve been a pet parent for over 30 years and can’t imagine life without animals. I currently share my home with a sweet 6-year-old tuxedo cat, but I’ve also raised dogs, including a lab, a beagle and a maltese, and even completed training classes with them. My favorite trick was teaching my lab how to balance a treat on her nose! Over the years, I’ve cared for pets of all ages—from playful puppies to senior companions—and have experience with vet visits, administering medications, and providing comfort in emergencies for both cats and dogs. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members. Whether it’s drop-in visits, daily walks, or simply keeping your pets company, I bring patience, reliability, and lots of love. I’m available for pet sitting and I treat every animal with the same care I give my own. Feel so lucky to have found Rich! He took wonderful care of my dog, Tova. He sent daily photos and I knew she was in good hands while I was away. I came back home to a clean house and a thorough report on Tova’s behavior. Rich clearly loves animals and has a keen sense of their needs.

Rich is absolutely outstanding. This was the second time he stayed with Remi while we were away for nine days, and I didn’t worry once. Remi is a young, sensitive dog with anxiety and a very specific routine, and Rich handled everything with incredible patience, skill, and genuine care. He did Remi’s mat training, gave all of his medications, took him on walks, managed his anxious moments with calm confidence, and followed all of the routines we’ve worked so hard to establish. It was clear that he cared about helping Remi feel safe and successful, not just getting through the day. Rich also sent thoughtful updates and photos throughout our trip, gave us a detailed report when we returned, and left our house spotless. Finding someone you trust with a dog like Remi is priceless, and Rich has earned that trust completely. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone, especially if you have a dog with anxiety or behavioral needs. We feel incredibly lucky to have found him.
Richard was excellent watching my dogs overnight at my place for two nights. He was very loving and patient with my anxious pupper and by the end they were getting along great. Richard was also a very respectful house guest and left the place better than he found it. Highly recommend!
