Amber made immediate friends with our little wildflower, Fiona. So much so that she is kinda “oh, you’re back” after 11 days. Pleases me to know that she was so well cared for while we were away for 11 days.

Francesca truly went above and beyond for our cats! They warmed up so quickly to her, even our very shy/timid cat. She took the time to get to know them and made them feel comfortable during our vacation. We were at ease knowing they were in the best hands! We would absolutely want Francesa to watch our kitties again! Her knowledge of cat behavior is an added bonus!

About: Hi I’m Aurelia! I’m dedicated to sharing in the joy, fun, cuddles, walking, and love of all the dogs and cats I can find (and who find me)! Growing up with dogs and cats at home, I have always loved being around animals. My two dogs have been a German Shepherd mix (Bela) and a miniature poodle (Linzee) so I have lived with and know how to care for large and small dogs! I grew up with two cats, Slate and Pippin. I currently have my own kitty, Thomas.💕 I love dog walking, and I always make sure there is lots of play. Your dog and/or cat will be lovingly cared for and have a super fun time! I look forward to meeting you and your pet :) 🐶 🐈 🩷 *NOTE: I am only available to do overnight stays for no more than one week at a time. Thank you! I’m currently between jobs (most recently worked for Kaiser Permanente) so I have lots of time to dedicate to your dog or cat, and house-sit if needed! I take house and pet instructions to heart, and make sure I have everything I need to be able to give the best care possible.

Rebecca is an excellent communicator and detail oriented. My kitty was happy and well cared for when I returned. I will be reaching out to Rebecca next time I have to leave my little guy at home.

About: For two years, I spent over 350 hours volunteering with dogs at the SF SPCA, taking all available dog training courses and earning certifications to work with puppies and dogs of all behavioral levels. I also served as a dog “matchmaker” where I helped clients find their perfect companion. My soft spot has always been for the nervous, shy dogs. I love seeing how time, space, and gentleness can open them up. It was incredible to watch them blossom over a few socialization visits and walks, and even more rewarding to help them find a home that would suit them, and their owners, best. I’ve had dogs myself over the years and am a frequent dog and cat sitter for many of my friends with pets. While my volunteer experience has been dog-focused, I'm equally comfortable with cats (have taken care of a house that had 15!) and have cared for more exotic pets too, including a parrot, hedgehog, and ferrets! I'm available for home visits/care for all animals and currently walks up to a mile. Additionally, I have a quiet, pet-friendly home and am able to board on a case by case basis for dogs I've worked with previously. I have experience working with dogs with different behavioral challenges (e.g. leash pulling, on and off leash aggression, very shy, anxious, etc.). Each dog is different, and I’m highly adept at reading cues and adapting based on their needs, as well as taking direction from owners. I'm used to multiple-pet households, complex feeding schedules, and administering medications. If your pet has specific needs I haven't addressed, send me a note! If I have experience in it I'll share, and if it's something I can learn, I'd love to. I want your pet to feel like I'm the next best thing to having you there and want to mimic their usual schedule and routine wherever possible. I’m a potter and am able to make my own schedule, so can accommodate you and your pet’s needs. If they have a favorite park, I'll plan our walks to go there. If they often get treats from a neighborhood shop, I'll include that route in our walk. For visits/walks I'll share a photo and update so you have peace of mind - I'll let you know when I arrive, and when I leave. And if there's anything out of the ordinary, I'll bring it to your attention. I want you to have absolute trust that your pet is getting the best care possible and that I'm looking out for them as if they were my own. I also want them to have the best time and to get excited the next time I see them! As a potter, I set my own hours and have flexibility throughout the day. I can accommodate morning, midday, or afternoon visits and walks, and am generally available for last-minute bookings. For every visit or walk, I'll send a photo and update - letting you know when I arrive, when I leave, and flagging anything out of the ordinary. For boarding, I have a quiet, pet-friendly home and only take dogs I've worked with previously to ensure a good fit. I'm experienced reading behavioral cues and adapting to each dog's needs, and I'll always follow your routines, feeding schedules, and any medical requirements closely.

Vivian was wonderful with Honey. They knew just what to do and gave me great tips to help with her issues of separation anxiety and crate training. They took a walk during the 3 hrs I worked and I never heard any barking as I had in the past. I really appreciated that they made themselves available at late notice and the thoughtful care they used in dealing with Honey.

About: Animals have always been a very important part of my life. Growing up, my mother operated a small pet rescue and animal shelter organization in Asia, and from a very young age I helped care for rescued dogs, cats, and abandoned animals alongside her. Over the years, we helped rescue and rehome thousands of animals, many of whom came from difficult or traumatic situations. caring for animals feels completely natural to me. I do not see pets as “just animals.” I genuinely believe they are family members who deserve love, patience, emotional safety, and respect. In many ways, I believe animals carry one of the purest forms of unconditional love, and sometimes they deserve even more kindness and gentleness than humans receive. I have experience caring for pets with very different personalities, medical conditions, and emotional needs, including senior pets, rescue animals, anxious dogs, and cats requiring medication and special routines. I am highly attentive to behavioral changes, feeding routines, emotional comfort, cleanliness, and creating calm environments where animals feel safe and relaxed.

About: I’ve always had a special place in my heart for dogs. While I can’t have one of my own right now due to space and financial limitations, I’d love the opportunity to give that same love, attention, and care to pets whose owners need an extra helping hand. I have several years of experience caring for my family dog, as well as helping care for my best friend’s three dogs over the years. I’ve also volunteered at animal shelters for several years, which gave me experience working with dogs of many different breeds, personalities, and energy levels. I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or just calm companionship, I’m happy to provide a safe, fun, and caring environment for them. I’m passionate about this work because being around animals truly energizes me. I’ll always treat your dog with the same care and affection I would give my own. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat or set up a meet-and-greet—I’d love to meet you and your pup! :) Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and being active throughout the day. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to walks, feeding routines, playtime, companionship, and giving pets consistent attention and care. I’m very organized and dependable when it comes to maintaining routines, whether that means sticking to feeding schedules, administering basic care, providing exercise and enrichment, or simply making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. Spending time with animals is something I find both rewarding and energizing, so I’m happy to make pet care a meaningful part of my weekly routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed in their familiar environment. I carefully follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any specific care instructions provided by the owner. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and enrichment based on their personality and energy level. I’m attentive to behavior changes and always prioritize their safety and well-being. I also keep the home clean and respectful while staying there, including cleaning up after pets, refreshing water bowls, and maintaining litter boxes or outdoor areas as needed. Communication is very important to me, so I provide regular updates and photos to help owners feel reassured while they’re away. My goal is to create a calm, dependable, and caring experience for both pets and their owners.

Harriet's help taking care of my 4 medium size dogs was great and without any problems. A big relief to have a close by neighbor to count on. She was very flexible on drop-in's and walk time/duration. The text and pic updates really helped ease any concerns over being away. And she even helped out longer than expected when my return travel was delayed. Will be glad to have her look after everyone any time. Thanks Harriet!

Beatrice did a fantastic job caring for my two cats, Max and Nano, while I was away dealing with a family health crisis. She handled a challenging situation -- one of the cats had been in the ER the day before I left, with meds to take but an uncertain diagnosis -- calmly and creatively. She provided detailed reports that helped me understand my cats' condition, and she went the extra mile to ensure they were taken care of when I couldn't return until very late in the evening. She even brought her own toys to enrich the play sessions. I returned to happy cats and a much better situation than when I left. Beatrice will be my go-to cat sitter from this point forward and I highly recommend her to others in the Berkeley area.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Kensington on Rover is $27.27 per visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 5,781 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Kensington. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kensington. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
