About: Longtime pet owner of two wonderful canines and previously a cat. I am extremely patient with all animals big or small, young or senior. I am well past the “squeamish” part of being a pet owner. No task is too much! I can take care of basic needs such as feeding, water, “poo patrol”, grooming, and playing. I am willing to go above and beyond to pamper your companions and give you peace of mind! I am currently a student attending Contra Costa College. My morning schedule, I can come in around 9am on Monday, Wednesday, Fridays and the weekend. I am typically free daily after 2:15pm and on to take care of your fur babies afternoon or evening needs! I will always let a client know ahead of time whether I have upcoming school projects or whether i’ll be out of town. I believe in strong communication! For my dogs we live in an area with coyotes so we have high fences and no matter how late we monitor them when they are outside. Our front yard is fenced to avoid our dogs running out into the street however, as extra precaution when guests or visitors are outside they are behind their dog fence. Our dogs are crate trained so not only is it their “safe space” it is their sleep space, it is not used as punishment. Inside they have plush bedding and a water bowl. As for our cat, we had screens on windows to avoid him being outside, if he was outside it was on a cat leash, we took note of all the plants in our house whether they were toxic for our pets and we would spray holistic deterrents for our pets especially the cat.
“Lexx made time to do a meet and greet with Panda on a Friday evening and was great working with her (even though Panda tends to be barky and anxious). She followed our instructions and left a detailed description of her walk! Would definitely recommend Lexx!”

About: Welcome to my Rover page! Over the years I've rescued and fostered and shared my life with many dogs. My home is open to small dogs of all breeds as long as the dog does not require extensive exercise (long runs etc). Regarding specialities, through fostering with Old Dog Haven I became very familiar with the needs of elderly and medically fragile dogs. At this point in my life I only have one dog of my own, and he is small and blind. My home is perfect for older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and/or dogs who just need extra love and attention. I work from home. My neighborhood is safe and beautiful and ideal for walks. I can administer meds and handle complicated feeding schedules. I will love on your pupper as if they were my own. I work from home full-time and never travel for work. Weekdays are all about working in my office with regular breaks for walkies and for play time and for meals. My house is dog-friendly, my neighborhood is ideal for walks. Dogs are never left alone for longer than it takes me to pour a cup of coffee.

About: I’ve taken care of many dogs and cats over the years. I love spending time with animals and provide careful and loving attention to them all. I’m an avid hiker and trail runner so I love being outside with active animals. I am currently working part time and my work schedule is flexible! I’m around weekends and early mornings. I make sure to fit pet care in with my other responsibilities. I make sure to carefully follow instructions left by the pet owner and always ask questions if I have them and send regular updates about the pet.

About: I’m a nurse practitioner and mom to 2 human babies and 1 furry baby. My beloved fur baby, Willow, is getting older and is slowing down. I would LOVE to have other fur buddies to go on walks or runs with, or just snuggle. I’ve used Rover for years and know first-hand how stressful it can be to leave a fur baby with someone else. I will treat your pets like my own and send lots of pictures so you know your pet is well cared for 🤗 I currently work full time it my clinic but have Thursdays off. I drop the kiddos off at school and then have the whole day to play outside with pups! I am a very responsible person who values clear communication and follow through. I will always send picture and text updates. I will always have my phone on and keep your pup leashed so they are safe.
About: I’ve had 2 dogs from puppy through adulthood over the last 20 years and have given tens of thousands of walks. Charlie was a stubborn and happy Basset Hound, and Teddy was a big, lovable, and strong Great Pyrenees who unfortunately passed early last year. I recently moved to Berkeley, and would truly love to have fun putting my dog walking skills to use with your pup. Able to offer same-day evening requests as well as any other time of day with 1+ day notice. Also able to give long 1+ hour evening walks at $25/hr! I don’t have space at my home which is my motivation for helping and spending time with local dogs on Rover! As a long time owner of two large and strong dogs from energetic puppy through adulthood, you can trust your fur-child will be in good hands!
“DJ has provided top-notch help in a time when we need some extra hands to take care of our fur baby the way he deserves. She has been kind, conscientious, flexible, and responsive. We highly recommend DJ!”

About: I’m currently in graduate school studying psychology and spend a lot of time outdoors walking, hiking, and regulating my own nervous system through movement and nature. Caring for dogs feels like a natural extension of that rhythm. I’m especially good with anxious, fearful, sensitive, or highly attuned dogs who benefit from calm, grounded, patient care. I understand how much animals communicate through energy, pacing, and nervous system cues, and I aim to create an experience that feels safe and steady for both pets and owners. Whether your dog needs a peaceful walk, overnight care, playtime, or simply a reliable and attentive presence while you’re away, I genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal’s unique personality and needs. I’m happy to provide thoughtful updates and photos so you can feel at ease while your pet is in my care. I’m currently in graduate school and have a flexible schedule during the week for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. Spending time outdoors with dogs is one of the ways I stay grounded and connected during long days of studying. I take my own dog to Point Isabel every day and especially enjoy relaxed neighborhood walks, outdoor time, and providing calm companionship and consistent care for pets while their owners are away. I approach pet care with patience, attentiveness, and respect for each animal’s unique temperament and nervous system. I’m especially comfortable with anxious, fearful, sensitive, or highly attuned dogs and aim to create an environment that feels calm, safe, and predictable. I pay close attention to body language, pacing, routines, and comfort levels, and I communicate clearly with owners so everyone feels at ease.
About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life. I have experience with pitbulls to Portuguese water dogs. Our family will keep your dog engaged and safe! I am currently a stay at home mom. I have plenty of time to take your dog on long walks around our neighborhood. When the whole family is around lots of laughs, chase and fetch will be had. I like to treat your dog the way you treat your dog. If your dog is most comfortable being crated I can easily provide that but if your dog likes to be out and snuggled that can happen too! I do have a fenced yard your dog to roam and explore between walks.
“Gail, cared for my 2 fur babies! So I could visit my kids for Christmas, my flight was canceled and I was not able to return home for another four days . My mind was at ease as I was unable to get home and working remotely , she took care of them on a moments notice. Thank you Gail for everything!! Happy New Year !!!”
“Sheryl is so kind and she did such a fantastic job with Riley! I really appreciate how very patient she was with Riley and walked her at her pace, sniffing and squirrel stalking. Her walking notes and photos were thorough and wonderful to see! I really look forward to having Sheryl walk Riley again in the future!”

“Missy has been walking my dog for about half a year now. She has been more than wonderful. My dog is not an easy dog. She's also very skittish around new people. Missy was able to work with her and transitioned well. Now my dog gets excited and happy every time she sees her. Missy is very attentive and follow instructions very well. She asked questions about my dog and was interested in getting to know her and care for her right. I believe her experience in working at shelters is an asset and help her in understanding dogs behavior and making them feel comfortable and cared for. She's also very on time, reliable, and responsible. All in all, I can't recommend her enough. She's just awesome!”

About: I’ve spent my entire life caring for dogs, starting with my childhood pets and continuing with my own as an adult. My passion for animal care led me to work at my local animal shelter, where I gained hands-on experience supporting dogs of all ages and temperaments. I have extensive experience working with everything from young puppies to adult dogs with behavioral challenges, and I take pride in providing compassionate, thoughtful care that helps each dog feel safe, happy, and understood. I currently have open availability and can easily accommodate pet care opportunities into my schedule. I’m an early riser—typically up by 6 AM—and ready to start the day, making me flexible and reliable for morning routines and other time-sensitive needs. I have a secure, fenced-in yard that dogs will have access to during their stay. I never leave them unattended and enjoy spending time outdoors with them to ensure they feel safe and engaged. Each day includes 2–3 walks, and I always care for your pets as if they were my own—providing them with love, attention, and a structured routine.
About: I've cared for pets of friends and family off and on while growing up. People's pets have always been warm to me or warmed very quickly, especially dogs. I love spending time with animals and they seem to enjoy the time too. I'm fresh to area and in need of work, so my schedule is pretty open at this timeI'm extremely flexible around your schedule and your (and your fur baby's) needs. Just a heads up, if you are 20+ miles out there will be a extra travel fee. Also if your dog requires special training outside the normal watching that is an extra fee as well. Like any good pet owner I truly treat them with the kindness and respect I'd show any other member of my family. I have a very deep empathy for animals and would care for your furry family members as I would my own.
Kensington dog parents share their Rover experiences
I needed a dog walker for my young working line German shepherd. My husband was staying home with the dogs while I visited my family, but he can’t walk far enough or fast enough to keep my baby entertained and exercised. I was delighted that Shuhan wasn’t deterred by barking when he arrived for a meet-and-greet, so we booked him. He arrived on time every day, didn’t mind dealing with foxtail nets, and returned her ready for a nap. We will definitely call him next time!

Linda went above and beyond when watching our dog Marlowe. I really appreciated the detailed reports she gave us on the time she spent with him. She clearly loves and understands dogs, and provided very valuable insights into to his behavior, as well as recommendations on how we can work with him to teach him new skills. Communication with Linda was great. She has a lovely personality. I feel lucky that we found her!

Jessica has been a life saver. We had never needed a dog walker before. We had her come a few times when we were here then when everyone was comfortable we gave her our keys. She is responsive to requests. The dogs are happy to see her. I wouldn't hesitate to contact her in the future.
