“I am so thankful for Kate! I love her detailed reports of her walks and playtime with my dog while I’m at work, and love all the pictures she includes that gives me a really great sense of her time with my dog. She’s very communicative and reliable and takes care of my dog so nicely <3”

“Debi was amazing. She jumped into action only minutes after my request for help. I could not have asked for a better walker and caretaker for my pup. Thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty.”

“Lexx made time to do a meet and greet with Panda on a Friday evening and was great working with her (even though Panda tends to be barky and anxious). She followed our instructions and left a detailed description of her walk! Would definitely recommend Lexx!”

About: Longtime pet owner of two wonderful canines and previously a cat. I am extremely patient with all animals big or small, young or senior. I am well past the “squeamish” part of being a pet owner. No task is too much! I can take care of basic needs such as feeding, water, “poo patrol”, grooming, and playing. I am willing to go above and beyond to pamper your companions and give you peace of mind! I am currently a student attending Contra Costa College. My morning schedule, I can come in around 9am on Monday, Wednesday, Fridays and the weekend. I am typically free daily after 2:15pm and on to take care of your fur babies afternoon or evening needs! I will always let a client know ahead of time whether I have upcoming school projects or whether i’ll be out of town. I believe in strong communication! For my dogs we live in an area with coyotes so we have high fences and no matter how late we monitor them when they are outside. Our front yard is fenced to avoid our dogs running out into the street however, as extra precaution when guests or visitors are outside they are behind their dog fence. Our dogs are crate trained so not only is it their “safe space” it is their sleep space, it is not used as punishment. Inside they have plush bedding and a water bowl. As for our cat, we had screens on windows to avoid him being outside, if he was outside it was on a cat leash, we took note of all the plants in our house whether they were toxic for our pets and we would spray holistic deterrents for our pets especially the cat.

About: I’m a nurse practitioner and mom to 2 human babies and 1 furry baby. My beloved fur baby, Willow, is getting older and is slowing down. I would LOVE to have other fur buddies to go on walks or runs with, or just snuggle. I’ve used Rover for years and know first-hand how stressful it can be to leave a fur baby with someone else. I will treat your pets like my own and send lots of pictures so you know your pet is well cared for 🤗 I currently work full time it my clinic but have Thursdays off. I drop the kiddos off at school and then have the whole day to play outside with pups! I am a very responsible person who values clear communication and follow through. I will always send picture and text updates. I will always have my phone on and keep your pup leashed so they are safe.
“Alexandra is great! Very responsive to messages and great with our dogs. She also pays attention to details and points out anything of concern, including noticing a tick on one of our dogs that we were than able to take care of. She has been super helpful and we utilize her services anytime we can!”

“DJ has provided top-notch help in a time when we need some extra hands to take care of our fur baby the way he deserves. She has been kind, conscientious, flexible, and responsive. We highly recommend DJ!”

About: I am a college student at Marquette University here for the summer. I have always loved and had dogs growing up, and would love the chance to hangout with yours! I have an internship Monday through Thursday, so I am available from Friday through Sunday, and potentially evenings during the week. Also early mornings (around 6). I am happy to walk, run, feed, or just play with your pets if they need some attention! I can also water plants/take care of your house while I’m there.
“Keiki was wonderful with my older, nervous dog. They had a great walk and my pup felt right at home with her. She is friendly and kind and I would be happy to have her back next time I need someone to care for maya.”

About: I've cared for pets of friends and family off and on while growing up. People's pets have always been warm to me or warmed very quickly, especially dogs. I love spending time with animals and they seem to enjoy the time too. I'm fresh to area and in need of work, so my schedule is pretty open at this timeI'm extremely flexible around your schedule and your (and your fur baby's) needs. Just a heads up, if you are 20+ miles out there will be a extra travel fee. Also if your dog requires special training outside the normal watching that is an extra fee as well. Like any good pet owner I truly treat them with the kindness and respect I'd show any other member of my family. I have a very deep empathy for animals and would care for your furry family members as I would my own.

About: I grew up around dogs and have a way with them. I work in the field of rescue and rehabilitation by profession, which takes me around the globe working with endangered species. Whenever I am home between contracts I love picking up any kind of work I can get with dogs! I have just finished a year in West Africa with chimpanzees and before that I was in Borneo rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing orangutans. I've worked with elephants in the same capacity in Sri Lanka, Zambia, Cambodia and Thailand, and with primates in Indonesia and Africa. I love animals and care deeply about them. I bring great amounts of attentiveness, patience and experience to this work and can work with any behavioral issue! The pets I care for relieve themselves when they wake and before they go to bed, they get exercised morning and evening, and get fed twice a day unless their owner specifies otherwise. They get plenty of love, affection and guidance! When I have a pet to care for their needs come first and foremost. With over a decade of experience rehabilitating and being a caregiver for all sorts of animals, I am keenly in tune with their well being and their needs. Whether they desire attention, want to relieve themselves, get exercise, or just have fun, I can tell and will provide them with all that they need, including unconditional love!
About: I’ve had 2 dogs from puppy through adulthood over the last 20 years and have given tens of thousands of walks. Charlie was a stubborn and happy Basset Hound, and Teddy was a big, lovable, and strong Great Pyrenees who unfortunately passed early last year. I recently moved to Berkeley, and would truly love to have fun putting my dog walking skills to use with your pup. Able to offer same-day evening requests as well as any other time of day with 1+ day notice. Also able to give long 1+ hour evening walks at $25/hr! I don’t have space at my home which is my motivation for helping and spending time with local dogs on Rover! As a long time owner of two large and strong dogs from energetic puppy through adulthood, you can trust your fur-child will be in good hands!

About: I’ve spent my entire life caring for dogs, starting with my childhood pets and continuing with my own as an adult. My passion for animal care led me to work at my local animal shelter, where I gained hands-on experience supporting dogs of all ages and temperaments. I have extensive experience working with everything from young puppies to adult dogs with behavioral challenges, and I take pride in providing compassionate, thoughtful care that helps each dog feel safe, happy, and understood. I currently have open availability and can easily accommodate pet care opportunities into my schedule. I’m an early riser—typically up by 6 AM—and ready to start the day, making me flexible and reliable for morning routines and other time-sensitive needs. I have a secure, fenced-in yard that dogs will have access to during their stay. I never leave them unattended and enjoy spending time outdoors with them to ensure they feel safe and engaged. Each day includes 2–3 walks, and I always care for your pets as if they were my own—providing them with love, attention, and a structured routine.
“Sheryl is a wonderful dog sitter. Our husky loves her. Sheryl is very responsible and reliable with feeding and walking our husky when we’re out of town-including detailed reports and photos. She’s a great communicator which puts us at ease. And she goes the extra mile to make sure our husky gets a good walk, lots of pets, and feels loved. We highly recommend Sheryl.”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for animals through work at various animal shelters, where I helped care for them. I’m comfortable handling pets of different temperaments, including large dogs, and I have some experience recognizing basic health concerns and administering medication as needed. Pet care is seamlessly woven into my daily routine with a flexible schedule, ensuring pets receive the attention and love they deserve every single day. In both my home and my clients' homes, I prioritize safety, trust, and a comfortable environment for pets. With careful attention to detail, I ensure that surroundings are pet-proofed, hazards are minimized, and any specific needs or preferences are addressed. Whether it's maintaining a clean living space, providing enriching activities, or adhering to medication schedules, I go above and beyond to create a secure and nurturing environment where pets can thrive.
About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life. I have experience with pitbulls to Portuguese water dogs. Our family will keep your dog engaged and safe! I am currently a stay at home mom. I have plenty of time to take your dog on long walks around our neighborhood. When the whole family is around lots of laughs, chase and fetch will be had. I like to treat your dog the way you treat your dog. If your dog is most comfortable being crated I can easily provide that but if your dog likes to be out and snuggled that can happen too! I do have a fenced yard your dog to roam and explore between walks.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Kensington
We were is lucky to find Sara! She was very communicative and took such care with our elderly dog. She was quick to notice little changes in his routine and point them out to us, which were very helpful in keeping him in good health. She was flexible to his needs. Sara gave us great piece of mind when we had to leave him alone during the day -even on days when he wasn't feeling his best. So thankful!

I needed a dog walker for my young working line German shepherd. My husband was staying home with the dogs while I visited my family, but he can’t walk far enough or fast enough to keep my baby entertained and exercised. I was delighted that Shuhan wasn’t deterred by barking when he arrived for a meet-and-greet, so we booked him. He arrived on time every day, didn’t mind dealing with foxtail nets, and returned her ready for a nap. We will definitely call him next time!

Linda went above and beyond when watching our dog Marlowe. I really appreciated the detailed reports she gave us on the time she spent with him. She clearly loves and understands dogs, and provided very valuable insights into to his behavior, as well as recommendations on how we can work with him to teach him new skills. Communication with Linda was great. She has a lovely personality. I feel lucky that we found her!

Jessica has been a life saver. We had never needed a dog walker before. We had her come a few times when we were here then when everyone was comfortable we gave her our keys. She is responsive to requests. The dogs are happy to see her. I wouldn't hesitate to contact her in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
