About: I’ve been caring for dogs for the past 3 years and absolutely love spending time with them. A family member owns a farm, and when their dog had puppies, I helped care for the litter and learned how important patience, love, and attention are. I treat every dog like my own and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for. As a college student, I have free gaps between classes that allow me to provide reliable pet care, walks, playtime, and attention throughout the day. I follow each pet’s routine carefully, provide food and water, give plenty of attention, ensure safety, and keep their environment clean and comfortable for the pets and owners.

We hired Becca to walk our lovely senior dog twice a day for a few days because we had to go on a Tahoe trip. She was great and kept us updated with cute pictures of our dog! We had a slight issue with the key fob not working but she was great at communication and problem solved effortlessly. Definitely will hire her again!

About: Hey I’m Izzy! I’m here to treat your fur babies as if they’re mine. When I’m with your dog I like to stimulate their mind by bringing treats and toys and have fun with some training (of course with your permission first!). I am currently a self employed dog trainer so I do know how to handle different types of dogs. My main experience is training and I frequently work with service dogs. I have experience with all kinds of temperaments so don’t be shy to let me know if your dog has an anxiety issue or is overly excited. My upmost important priority is making your dog feel as comfortable as possible when he or she is under my care. I can’t wait to meet all these beautiful faces! I am also a student and still new to the bay area. Luckily at the moment my schedule is rather flexible, I can potentially adjust my schedule for your pet on certain occasions! I will follow whatever instructions you give me when I stay over at your home. There will be constant supervision when let outside or on a walk. Your dog will have a warm bed (or crate) to sleep in and their mental + physical needs will be met everyday!

About: have hands-on experience caring for dogs through both being a dog owner and pet sitting for others. I have a 3-year-old Miniature Poodle who I have raised and cared for since he was young, so l understand how important it is to provide dogs with plenty of love, attention, exercise, and a consistent routine. Through caring for my own dog, I'm experienced with daily walks, feeding schedules, playtime, basic grooming, potty breaks, and making sure dogs feel comfortable and safe. I have also cared for other dogs for friends and family, which has helped me become comfortable working with dogs that have different personalities, routines, and needs. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pet with someone else, so I treat every dog I care for as if they were my own. I'm patient, attentive, and will make sure your pet receives plenty of affection. playtime, and supervision while you're away. I'm also happy to follow any special routines or instructions you have so your dog feels as comfortable as possible. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily routine because I have a 3-year-old Miniature Poodle of my own. I make time throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’m happy to adjust my routine based on your pet’s normal schedule and individual needs so they can feel comfortable and cared for while they are with me. I live in an apartment and make safety and supervision a priority at all times. Dogs are always leashed when leaving the apartment and carefully supervised in hallways, elevators, and outdoor areas. I make sure each pet has a comfortable and clean space to relax, along with regular walks, potty breaks, playtime, and attention. Since I also have a friendly Miniature Poodle, I would make sure dogs are introduced carefully and that everyone is comfortable around each other. I’m also happy to follow each owner’s feeding schedule, walking routine, house rules, and any special care instructions so their pet can feel as close to their normal routine as possible.

About: i’ve cared for pets since i was young! what u like most is to have fun and make sure the animals feel happy and cared for! i love teaching new skills to pets that dont have training aswell! i’m working on gathering loyal customers to help me make this full time, i enjoy fresh air walks just as much as them. turning this into a full time job for me is amazing because it allows me to have a clear free mind, and will make my days go by easier i am very aware of everything that’s happening around me. its helps me stay conscious of what the pets are doing. in home care is fun because the pet is already in a space they know and are comfortable with and i try and make it know to them that im here to help them through our time together.

About: Hey there! 🐾 My Wi-Fi name is "House of Dogues". That probably tells you everything you need to know about me. I've been around pups my whole life: walks, sits, feedings, bath time, you name it. Friends, family, neighbors have all trusted me with their fur babies, and I take that seriously. But also I make it really fun. Here's what makes me a little different: I follow the dog's lead. Some pups want a big adventure. Others want a slow sniff-everything kind of walk (honestly iconic). On our walks, they pick the route. I'm just happy to be invited. I also put together little enrichment activities because a stimulated dog is a happy dog, and yes, I talk to them like they understand everything I'm saying, because they do. I'm a big dog park person too, but I'm picky about it in the best way. I stick to parks where I already know the people and the dogs, so I know exactly what kind of environment your pup is walking into. No surprises, just good socialization with faces I trust. When your dog stays with me, they get a whole day tailored to their vibe: cozy, active, or somewhere in between. And you? You'll get so many photo and video updates you might actually forget you miss them. Might. At home I live with Totó, my shichihuahua who is fully convinced he runs this household (he does). He's taught me everything about big personality in a small body, and he's an excellent host. I have a special soft spot for senior dogs. I know how to give them the patience, gentleness, and extra love they deserve. My clients always say the same two things: they got way more updates than they expected, and they finally felt okay leaving their dog with someone. That's the whole goal. 🐶 I work remotely, which means I'm home most of the day and genuinely available, no scrambling, no rushing. Midday walk? Morning sit? Last-minute check-in? I can make it work. Pet care isn't something I squeeze into my routine, it basically IS my routine. Your dog will never feel like an afterthought. Safety is everything to me, and so is making sure your pet actually enjoys their time. In your home, I follow your instructions closely, keep things clean and consistent, and make sure your pup always has water, food, and lots of love. On walks, I stick to routes and parks I know well, with dogs and people I already trust. No random off-leash situations, no surprises. At my place, it's calm, cozy, and very much a dog household (my Wi-Fi is literally called "House of Dogs"). Totó, my shichihuahua, is a great host as long as you respect that he's in charge.

About: I've grown up with big dogs and am now a dog and cat mom. Before my dog I boarded friends' dogs with me, watching them while they were away. My big dog is from the shelter and is fearful, so I have experience with shy shelter dogs, training, and managing their triggers. I also walk others' dogs. My schedule is flexible and is different depending on the day of the week. Communication is key , but I will try to make things work. At clients' homes I will follow their instructions and communicate any questions. I make sure the doors are locked when I leave, and try to be careful entering so animals don't potentially run away. Depending on instructions or pet temperaments, I will observe and work with them for enrichment and socialization needs. I make sure there is enough water in the bowls and feed as needed. For cats, I clean the litterboxes. They will not be in my home since I have pets.

About: I’ve been working with and caring for dogs for several years, and I currently run Still Hound, where I lead off-leash pack hikes for groups of up to six dogs. I am fully insured and permitted by East Bay Regional Park District for trail hikes. I’m also CPR certified and professionally certified as a dog walker. My experience includes managing multiple dogs in real-world environments, reading canine body language, maintaining reliable recall, and keeping dogs safe and engaged throughout their walks. My background is in dog handling and training, not just pet sitting. I work with dogs every day and pay close attention to behavior, communication, and individual needs. I’m comfortable with energetic, independent, or challenging dogs and understand how to provide structure while keeping walks enjoyable. My goal is for every dog to return home safely exercised, mentally engaged, and better understood. Dog care is a regular part of my daily routine. I run Still Hound’s pack hikes during the week and schedule individual walks and training sessions around those hikes. Because I work with dogs professionally, I’m able to offer flexible weekday availability and give each dog plenty of focused attention during their walk. I focus on creating a calm, structured, and safe environment tailored to each dog’s temperament and needs. During walks and training sessions, I use positive reinforcement, clear communication, and high-value treats to keep dogs engaged and responsive. I pay close attention to body language, energy levels, and group dynamics to ensure dogs are comfortable, socially appropriate, and safely managed at all times. My approach prioritizes consistency, trust, and real-world reliability both on and off leash.

We feel like we hit the jackpot finding John to be our regular walker. He treats our dog just like we do (and talks to our dog just like we do too, which if you’re a pet owner, you know is the sign of a good caretaker). Our dog absolutely loves him and even though we unfortunately don’t need a daily walker right now, we are still asking John to keep walking our dog every week because we don’t want to lose him!

About: I’ve been raising a very cute black pug for four years. For some reason, I couldn’t bring him with me and I miss him a lot. I really love dogs, so I’d love to do some dog-related work in my free time. I’m happy to let dogs on the sofa or bed, since I always clean them up after walks to make sure both they and the environment stay clean. I’ve spent time with many different dogs, including some that were initially unfriendly. By offering treats, approaching them slowly, and taking the time to get to know them, I was able to build trust. I’m very patient with dogs! From Monday to Friday, I’m usually out for 2–4 hours a day, but I’m home all day on weekends. During my free time, I’m happy to take dogs out to play. 1. Diet: I carefully control meal portions and feeding times, and always make sure dogs stay hydrated—especially in hot weather. After walks, I wait 5–10 minutes before giving them water. 2. Hygiene: I clean eye discharge promptly and keep both the dogs and their environment clean. 3. Exercise: I walk dogs 2–3 times a day. 30min/walk. 4. Playtime: In my free time, I love playing fetch, tug-of-war, or hide-and-seek with them. 5. Companionship: I spend as much time with them as possible. 6. Safety on walks: Dogs are always leashed outside. I stay alert when they interact with other dogs and separate them immediately if there are signs of aggression. I also make sure they don’t eat things off the ground, and I always clean up after them. 7. Sleeping: I used to sleep with my own dog, so if your dog is used to that, they’re welcome to join me too.

Heather was an absolutely wonderful dog walker for my two mini schnauzers! She walked them multiple times a week and was always reliable, attentive, communicative and great about following all of my instructions. I have one very social dog and one who is much more shy and cautious, and Heather did such a great job with both of their personalities. She was patient and took the time to earn their trust, and I could tell from my doggy camera that they would actually wait for her walks, which says a lot about how much they loved seeing her. I would happily recommend Heather to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable dog walker. She was fantastic with my pups, and I’m so grateful for the care she gave them. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
