Adam is a wonderful pet carer and our shy rescue pup immediately warmed up to him. He has a great, calming, positive energy and is completely trustworthy. As soon as I met him, I knew Chami would be in good hands. He's very punctual, always bang on time to walk our dog and responsive with messaging and photo updates. I would 100% recommend him!

Whitney is extremely patient & professional. My dog is not an easy going pup he’s a bit of a grumpy old fuss pot. She communicates & asks for advice, I cannot stress enough how patient Whitney is. I felt she really tired to understand him & work with us. She is a great walker who goes above & beyond!!

About: I bring 10 years of pet care experience, with a deep background in handling dogs of all sizes, personalities, and temperaments. From raising my own large Labrador and small Maltipoo to working with rescues, I am entirely comfortable navigating complex behavior. If your dog has severe anxiety, reactivity, or specific needs when interacting with humans or other dogs, you can rest assured they are in safe, knowledgeable hands. I am highly attuned to canine body language, patient with sensitive pups, and strictly follow your specific training protocols and boundaries. Every walk is tailored to keep your dog feeling safe, calm, and successful! y daily routine is completely built around a love for animals, anchored by my own dog, Luna. The absolute highlight of my day is getting outside and hiking with her, so staying active and ensuring dogs get plenty of fresh air and exercise comes completely naturally to me. I genuinely jump at any opportunity to hang out with animals, which means your pet won't just be "checked on", they will be a welcomed, seamless part of my day and given the same dedicated time, care, and affection that I give my own pup. very pet thrives in a different setting, which is why I am super flexible in adapting the environment to match your pet’s exact needs. Whether your dog requires a high-energy, active hiking route, or your cat needs a quiet, calm, and low-stimulation space to feel safe, I customize the surroundings entirely. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and routine are my top priorities, giving you complete peace of mind.

About: Nickname: Fox I am staying in Oakland till the end of July. I truly love animals of all kinds. I love them so much that I have had everything from cats and dogs to birds, rats and rabbits. I have also had fish among other exotic animals over my lifetime. I have experience with disabled pets, pets with extra medications, and pets with special needs. I am also extremely capable of taking care of multiple pets at a time. I can easily manage various species of pets at a time. They will be well cared for with me. House sitting with light chores and overnight care are not an issue with my schedule! In the case of small and medium sized dogs I'm capable of handling them on walks if they're very reactionary to people and other animals. I'm capable of walking larger dogs if they're on the calm side and won't chase animals and people. Of course every dog has they're own unique personality and I'm willing to meet with them first to see if I'm capable of handling them. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

About: Hi! I’m Atusa — a lifelong animal lover with decades of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds and personalities. I’ve been around animals my entire life and have had my share of cherished companions. From playful puppies and curious kittens to senior pets needing gentle care and medication, I’ve seen and supported it all. I genuinely enjoy long walks with dogs, quiet lap time with cats, and creating a calm, loving space so your pet feels safe, seen, and comfortable while you're away. I have experience with reactive dogs, special-needs pets, and animals who thrive with a little extra patience and understanding. Whether your pet is shy, spunky, anxious, or aging — I tune in and meet them where they are. I’m reliable, communicative, and treat your home and animals with the same care and respect I give my own. You can count on me for clean, calm, and compassionate care every time. IPet care fits naturally into my daily rhythm. I work primarily online, which means I have a flexible schedule and spend a lot of time at home. This allows me to give pets plenty of attention, regular walks, and a calm, consistent presence throughout the day. Whether your animal needs structure, companionship, or just someone to hang out with, I’m available and present — not just dropping by between errands or rushing out the door. At this time, I only offer in-home visits and house sitting at my clients’ homes. I find that most pets feel happiest and most secure in their own familiar space, with their routines and surroundings intact. When I’m caring for pets in your home, I treat it with the same respect and care I would my own. I follow your instructions closely — whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, medications, or favorite toys and snuggle spots. I aim to keep your pet's routine consistent and stress-free, so they feel safe, calm, and well loved while you're away.

About: I’d love to care for and walk your pets. Dog park romps, petting sessions, and snuggling provided. I care for them in my home or drop into your home as needed. Experience with large animals, geriatric and young animals. If you are traveling and need a reliable, fun, experienced sitter for your pets, I’d be happy to do a meet and greet and meet you and your pets. I'm an active retiree so I have plenty of time for your furry family members. My dog loves to play with new furry friends or chill and give them space. About: I’ve had pets my whole life, including my sweet lab/German shepherd mix, Layla, who we lost to cancer 3 years ago. Right now, we have a rescued cat and a 1-year-old pup staying with family back in Las Vegas. We recently relocated to Moraga and are staying with my sister until we get on our feet and can bring our loves along with us. We're missing our pets and would love to love on yours! I'm absolutely obsessed with dogs, and my kids love all animals (they'd bring home every stray *anything* if it were up to them!). We found our cat wandering a park and took her in, so I get where they get it from! I know how important it is to feel safe leaving your pet in someone else’s care, and I treat every animal like they’re family. Whether it’s senior care, playful pups, or cuddly cats, I’ve got the experience, the patience, and the heart for it. I work in mental health remotely and my husband is at home with the kids full time while I focus on building my practice so we have a healthy amount of flexibility. We would be honored to be entrusted with the care of your little loves. We were previously homeowners who rented often and managed multiple properties, so we know how important it is to treat others' home like (if not better!) than your own. We will care for your pets in your home as you prefer, and are comfortable with crates, walks, light training, etc.

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
