“Jacalyn is fabulous! When we first met she was so attentive. Talking notes, asking questions. Our puppy loved her immediately. Very qualified , kind, communicative & punctually. Will definitely be using her again”

“Iryna is great! She is calm and friendly, and let my dog get comfortable with her at his own pace. Now he is excited to see Iryna and trots away with her for a walk. Highly recommended!”

About: I’ve always loved pets especially dogs, excited to get your pet some outdoor time! I’m happy to walk any kind of pup and can promise lots of pets and positive affirmations. I work from home so my schedule is flexible, looking to get outside to break up the day and take pups out for some outdoor time and exercise. I am very observant of pets behavior and provide care based on their specific needs. I have worked with anxious pets and am comfortable with techniques to soothe pets and create a calm environment.
“Nicky has been very patient with Milo and Piper. Our fur babies have warmed up to her in record time, which is due to her being a natural and having a wonderful temperament. Nicky has also been very open minded with us scheduling trial runs so that we’re all feeling good about using Nicky’s services.”

About: Hello! My name is Alex. I am a single mom of 2 amazing girls; 13 and 7 years old. We have a huge love for dogs and pets in our home; they truly bring our house so much joy. We love to be outside; walks on the beach, going to the park across the street from our house, hikes, and I enjoy running (3 miles if I am lucky and have the time). I have always had a family dog(s) growing up as a child. I have been a ‘professional’ dog caregiver for over 5 years now. I am reliable, timely, attentive, and active. I ensure every dog we care for is kept as closely to the same routine they have at home. Walks, feedings, baths, sleeping; I try to keep the same routine as if they were home. I work from home, so being able to attended to a furry friend during the day is very doable. Depending on the furry friends routine; I can offer walks in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I also have a fenced in backyard so going out for potty breaks is easy too :) I have a fenced in backyard for the pups to go out to the bathroom or to stretch their legs. There is enough space in my home for a crate if your fur baby likes to sleep in a crate. I try my best to keep routines the same from their home to my home.

About: I have over 6 years of experience as a cat & dog owner. Raised my own dog from a puppy (she’s now a happy 3-year-old Corgi!) and cared for two cats for several years also. I’m well versed in everything from high energy puppy play to the quiet, patient approach many cats prefer. I also have experience fostering dogs with complex behavioral needs, like those struggling with 'stranger danger' and anxiety. I know that building trust takes time & a calm presence. I take care of mine, and others’ furbabies as if they were my own children. As a college student that has classes online, my schedule can be quite flexible. I am happy & willing to work with clients to best help with what they need. Safety is super important to me (as it should be) because I understand you are entrusting me with basically your child. I am very attentive & vigilant. Always keeping an eye on your pet to make sure they are safe, and they’re surroundings are safe for them.

“My senior rescue pup has behavioral issues and requires a lot of patience and warming up. Diana always takes the time to help my pup calm down and warm up - really appreciate it!”

“Melanie is great! She takes good care of my dog! She is always very punctual and follows all the instructions. My dog was really happy when she took her out! Definitely will choose her again next time!”

“Eleanna is a fantastic Pet Care provider. She understands animals. I trusted her inherently the first time I met her. She has been caring for my animals while I’ve been away and I feel completely confident and safe with them in her care. My dog is learning from a recent training on leash reactivity and she worked well with Java in my absence. Java dog made progress! Thank you Eleanna”

About: I’ve had pets all of my life! I will treat your pet as my own. Love and respect go a long way in gaining a friendship with all pets. I work full time at a 9-5 type job. When I’ve stayed with pets, they get a walk before I leave for work and after I get home. I don’t take jobs too far away from my area during the week. I wouldn’t want to leave my own pet alone for more than I needed to, let alone someone else’s pet. My preference is to work with dachshunds, American bull terriers and cat. If I’m available, I’d love to sit for you! My small dachshund has a crate he sleeps in and a decent back yard. I will adhere to all instructions from the owners for their pets. Even if your pet is comfortable around other pets and kids, I tend to steer clear of distractions on walks. Just for safety ☺️
“I was home when Heather picked up the dogs today - I was happy to see how excited they were to see her. We recently moved here, and I’m happy they have already made one good friend.”
About: I have experience owning and training dogs, as well as walking and dog sitting for family and friends. The feedback I have received is that I am caring, respectful, and consistent. I am reliable and flexible due to being retired. I love dogs and love daily walks around beautiful Alameda. Seems like a brilliant combination to put the two together. I start wherever the dog is regarding their comfort level and ability. I recognize the trust the owner places in me with both their dog and with their home.

“Nhu is super friendly, responsive, respectful and reliable. Our dog Chloe loves seeing Nhu, and we can always rest easy when we’re away, knowing that Nhu is taking great care of her. Nhu follows instructions carefully and even goes above and beyond in ensuring she’s providing the best care. It’s no wonder she has so many 5 star reviews and repeat clients!”

About: I am very attentive to the needs of your pets, especially if they are older and slower, but I also enjoy energetic puppies and pets that need some training and just need some positive re-enforcement. I am available to House sit - although I don't know how to reflect that on the website. I actively practice positive reinforcement obedience training. My schedule is open now in general but I may do a retreat every so often. I nearby in the Bay Area, my schedule is more flexible. I prefer to care for pets in their own homes, since I live in a small place. I am attentive to the needs of the pet and if I see that the pet needs exercise, I make sure they get sufficient exercise through their regular routines.
About: Thank you for considering me to be your dog’s home away from home! I have over 8 years of experience caring for my childhood dogs, along with caring for dogs outside of Rover. I have experience with taking care of dogs as young as 2 months old and as old as 16 years old. With my experience I understand that all dogs are different and need special care and attention. Being away from your dog, and your dog being away from you can bring a lot of anxiety for the dogs as well the owner; but I am more than happy to help ease the anxiety and make sure your dog is loved and care for and receiving all the attention they need while you are away. Although I don’t have a yard, I am walking minutes away from the beach, and parks nearby. I work from home Monday-Friday which will allow me to keep a close eye on your beloved fur baby; and will also allow more flexibility for drop off and pick up. I am currently working full time remotely which allows me more flexibility with accommodations. Please send me a message for any scheduling accommodations you may need. I am able to provide your fur baby at least 3 walks/day (Morning, noon, evening). Depending on your preference, I can send an update once or twice (morning and evening) a day. I have experience working with senior dogs therefore I am familiar with administering medication if your dog has any medications they are taking.
“Alice does a great job of keeping us posted on how the animals are doing and seems to really love spending time with them. Having Alice taking care of our babies really makes me feel a lot more at ease when we travel.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Alameda
Julia and Thomas are great, reliable and friendly dog walkers. They started walking my dog this week and have been great getting to know my dog, his habits and likes. They're also very clear communicators when they will be out of town, and we've been able to plan our walk schedule out by several weeks. Thanks to both of you!

Super responsive and communicative!!! It was our first time having Zorah walk our dog that we just adopted. She was comfortable with the fact that we don’t know the dog that well yet — she was willing to answer all sorts of questions about the dog’s behavior and even problem solve live via text! We spoke on the phone afterwards and she was very honest and clear in her communication. I really trust her to take good care of our new furry family member while we are at work.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
