“Great job, our pets and their space was well take care of! Before we left, Megan & Jenny R were collaborating with us on how to provide the best care, and stayed in touch during their visits.”

About: I had my own sweet pup for over 15 years. Unfortunately we lost her this past year. Now I have a new pup who is a ball of energy! I assisted heavily during some of the major fires in northern California over the years, working with several professional animal rescue teams. Love dogs of all shapes and sizes just out here hoping to help as many pups as possible. Relocated to Alameda in 2025. I work remote so I have some availability through the week, the weekends I’m available, I have plenty of space available for furry friends. My pup has lots of energy and would love a playmate. Currently available part time. I’m very active so I love taking walks. I do have a small fenced backyard with grass. Our house is very dog friendly.
“Lucy was absolutely wonderful! She was communicative throughout the entire booking—quick to respond and always kept us updated with the cutest photos. She followed all instructions carefully, and my cat HaoHao was happy and well cared for. We felt at ease knowing Lucy was looking after her. Will definitely be booking again!”

About: I have more experience with small dogs and cats. I used to play with small dogs a lot and I love their energy. I also love cats since I have two of my own. Looking forward to meet your pets. I can visit once a day on weekdays after 5pm. This visit can be playing for 30 mins, changing food or water. I can visit more often on weekend ( fri-sun) depend on your need. I prefer each visit will be as longest as 30 mins and I don't stay over night. I will make sure your pets have enough of necessities as I visit, like food or water. I make sure I can keep them a company and play with them to make them happy.
“So grateful to have found Jana! She's the BEST! It gave us so much peace of mind knowing that we had a warm, caring, and attentive person taking care of our two kitties while we were on our trip.”

“Eleanna has been dropping in on my border collie Moxie weekly for about a month now and she has been amazing! She is very responsive to my last minute requests, great bios and pictures on Rover cards, always on time, and I can tell she is very caring. Moxie always looks so happy to see her, we will be using her again!”

“Cathy does such a great job and my cats love to have her visit. The cats are happy and relaxed when I get home, the house looks great, and I can smoothly jump back into my busy home life. Thank you Cathy!”

“Diana was wonderful! She was so communicative, easy to work with, and gave great updates. I would definitely recommend her to others. We’re grateful she pet sat our cats while we were gone!”

About: Hello, my name is Christine and I have been living in Alameda for 5 years. In my life, I have cared for 2 seniors dogs - Cookie (7-14 y.o.) and more recently Louie (9 weeks-10 y.o.), who have both now crossed the rainbow bridge. I am comfortable with administering medications, drop-ins, walking, feeding, and play time! I occasionally dog sit for some of my neighbors and friends that live in my neighborhood. I am also a volunteer at a local shelter in the East Bay, focusing primarily on small dog socialization, behavior observation, and preparing the dogs for adoption. Being in the shelter so often, I am comfortable being around many different dog breeds and temperaments. If you would like to book with me, please send me a message and we can set up a meet-and-greet! I look forward to meeting you and your furbaby soon! My schedule is open every day but Thursday! I work from home 4x a week and am available on weekends as well. I keep my Rover schedule updated weekly. As I provide care within your home setting, I trust that your place of residence will have an environment that is safe for both your dog(s) and visitors, whether that includes a crate, barrier/baby gate for the front door, or basic commands.

“Iryna has looked after our dog multiple times and she has been great with him! He is an excitable lab and she knows exactly how to handle him. She has taken on last minute bookings for us and been flexible with our schedule which is so helpful. She takes him on good walks and always send a photo. Definitely would book Iryna anytime!”

“Carri was wonderful! She took great care of my two cats. She was communicative, caring, trustworthy, and dependable. I will definitely use her again and would highly recommend her to anyone else.”
About: Thank you for considering me to be your dog’s home away from home! I have over 8 years of experience caring for my childhood dogs, along with caring for dogs outside of Rover. I have experience with taking care of dogs as young as 2 months old and as old as 16 years old. With my experience I understand that all dogs are different and need special care and attention. Being away from your dog, and your dog being away from you can bring a lot of anxiety for the dogs as well the owner; but I am more than happy to help ease the anxiety and make sure your dog is loved and care for and receiving all the attention they need while you are away. Although I don’t have a yard, I am walking minutes away from the beach, and parks nearby. I work from home Monday-Friday which will allow me to keep a close eye on your beloved fur baby; and will also allow more flexibility for drop off and pick up. I am currently working full time remotely which allows me more flexibility with accommodations. Please send me a message for any scheduling accommodations you may need. I am able to provide your fur baby at least 3 walks/day (Morning, noon, evening). Depending on your preference, I can send an update once or twice (morning and evening) a day. I have experience working with senior dogs therefore I am familiar with administering medication if your dog has any medications they are taking.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Alameda
Emilia-Laura was absolutely amazing as a sitter for our two cats - she truly went above and beyond. The cats loved her (even the one who’s normally shy!) and they got so much play time and attention. She wrote extremely detailed notes and took great photos, which was so nice to see and eased our anxiety immensely while we were on the longest trip we’ve been on since having them. Would absolutely try to book her again if she has availability!

Mellisa was great! Our dog had surgery recently and he needed a little special attention which was unplanned! Mellisa jumped and provided great care for both my dogs. They were relaxed and happy when we got home. I’ll definitely use Mellisa again as well as recommend her!

Kimberly was amazing, and we feel so lucky to have found her! She was professional, responsible, and kept us completely at ease by sending regular updates and pictures while we were away. Our cat was in the wonderful hands, and we couldn't be happier with the level of care and professionalism she provided. We highly recommend Kimberly to anyone looking for an exceptional pet sitter!

This was our second time having Bryanna watch our dogs, and she was great again! She’s reliable, caring, and takes such good care of them. I feel very comfortable knowing they’re in good hands with her while we’re away. We’ll definitely continue using her. Highly recommend! 😊

This is my second time having Fernando drop in on my cat while I'm away. Like always, Fernando was super reliable, punctual, and followed all instructions. He was patient with my shy kitty, who eventually came out of her shell to hang out. Thank you for taking such good care of her!

Avery was great! Our cats just loved her as shown in the photos we received. She was on time, followed instructions, kept everything clean, and was a great communicator. We felt safe leaving our pets in her hand. We highly recommend Avery and will definitely book her again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
