My journey as an animal communicator was shaped by rescuing my first dog, Summer, who was deemed “unadoptable” due to severe trauma and taught me how to truly “speak dog.” Shaped by a lifetime of rescuing traumatized and misunderstood animals, my work is rooted in deep empathy, trust, and learning to truly speak the language of animals. Today, I teach animal psychology to help humans better understand, communicate with, and emotionally support their pets. * Animal Medical Fund: I donate emergency medical funds at an animal sanctuary/TNR in India for stray dogs and cats. I am currently working on expanding my holistic care services and so I have plenty of time to spend with your pet. I am available 7 days a week and weekends. I spend time with your pet observing their personality and getting to know their personality traits. I am fun and play with them a lot. I give them lots of physical affection and I talk to them like they are human. I listen to what they tell me. I have honed animal communication skills from my many years of both rescuing and rehabilitating animals, and as a professional pet sitter/dog walker. I am gentle yet firm when setting boundaries. My philosophy for building trust and safety is being highly attuned to animals and respond to their cues. I make sure to know what the pets' triggers are and provide them with a safe and loving environment, avoiding their triggers as much as possible and being the strong leader of the pack when necessary to create space and strong boundaries. “Sarah replied promptly to my last-minute request for a mid-day check-in/potty break for my two dogs, and continued to communicate promptly with me as I emailed info about our home setup and their needs and possible issues. She was on time for the visit itself and sent me photos to let me all was well. I was very relieved since I had signed up with Rover the app years ago just in case I’d need it, but it was the first time I’d actually used the service and wasn’t sure how things would. But I’m very satisfied with how it all worked out!”

About: Hello, thank you for taking a look at my profile! I am a writer and long-time dog walker and pet sitter. While I have many years of experience with all kinds of animals (including my own pets, livestock, and injured wildlife), dogs and cats are always my favorite to be around. I'm a runner and avid hiker so am always up for being out and about with your dog. As a writer, I also spend a lot of time at home and love having animal companions while I work. Since I have experience working with injured wildlife, I am very comfortable with medication and other needs. If you think I might be a good fit for you and your pets, please send me a message. I look forward to hearing from you! I work mostly from home, which means I'm available for snuggles and pets throughout the day and can go on morning, afternoon, and evening walks. Whether I'm in your home or out on a walk, I will give your pet lots of love, attention, and affection. I will always be vigilant about their safety, well-being, and happiness.

“Vivian was wonderful with Honey. They knew just what to do and gave me great tips to help with her issues of separation anxiety and crate training. They took a walk during the 3 hrs I worked and I never heard any barking as I had in the past. I really appreciated that they made themselves available at late notice and the thoughtful care they used in dealing with Honey.”

“Emily is an amazing pet caregiver! We were out of town for a week and Emily took care of our dear cat who is not the friendliest to strangers. The multiple photos and videos Emily sent every day gave us great peace of mind. Would highly recommend Emily!”

I’m an avid hiker and trail runner so I love being outside with active animals. I am currently working part time and my work schedule is flexible! I’m around weekends and early mornings. About: I've had cats and dogs in my home since I was a child. Since 2020 I have been traveling the country--and beyond--as a full-time, nomadic pet sitter. I have taken care of dogs in Malibu, California; horses and pigs in Ocala, Florida; Ragdoll cats in South Queensferry, Scotland; goats in Oakland, California; and giant bunnies in Oceanside, Washington. I've given medicine to old animals, including insulin injections for dogs and cats. I'm basically the Mrs. Doubtfire of pet care. I travel sometimes with my companion, Cheri Isabella, so sometimes there will be two of us taking care of your animals. I am a full-time pet-sitter. I spend most of my time working as an online writer and illustrator, so I will be around to give your pets as much attention as they need. I do not have a home so I am not able to board pets. I can only take care of pets in their own home.
About: Whether high-energy pups or senior dogs needing a softer touch, I’ve built strong bonds with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and needs. I’m often the sitter called when a dog needs extra presence, patience, or someone who just “gets” them. I grew up always having dogs, and they are some of the best emotional support a person can ever get, and I think they deserve the same! Many dog parents have told me their pets don’t usually take to strangers — or men — but often within an hour, we’re friends. As long as their person is there in approval! I don’t rush connection. I listen, I observe, and I let each dog feel safe and that they have their space until they trust me to lead and care for them. Recent Dog house-sits have included: • A 1.5-year-old German Shepherd–Husky mix with boundless energy and some behavioral challenges who doesn't get along with his housemate, • A 15-year-old Border Collie–Akita senior companion with mobility needs. She has such a sweet heart, and she just needed to have her space protected, and they were able to start walking regularly together with me! • A 17-year-old Chihuahua-Chow mix with memory loss and low vision who is afraid of most people. It took him 2 months to bond with his "dad!" With support from his "mom," we were buddies within 30 min, and they are repeat clients! • A 17-year-old Beagle who doesn't like to be touched by anyone — but gave plenty of kisses and playfulness once she trusted me From long walks to short sniff sessions, playtime to quiet companionship, I adjust to each dog’s energy and needs. I treat your dog the way I’d want someone to treat mine — with genuine care, attunement, and respect for their space. My schedule & flexibility: I am pet sitting for my program and work remotely most days for Creative Generations, my pre-professional ballet dancer mentorship and wellness program! So I'm home and available for pet care, walks, and companionship throughout the day. Saturdays (and occasional Sundays): I coach some dancers and may be away for 4–5 hours. Once or twice a week (often Fridays): I help out at a friend's calm, quiet local shop. If you want, I've occasionally brought smaller, well-behaved dogs with me when appropriate—always with permission and only if the dog is comfortable! 🏡 How I Care for Pets in Their Home I treat every home I stay in with the same care, respect, and calm energy that I would my own. I know how important it is that your pet feels safe and secure in their space, especially while you’re away. I always begin with a calm, gentle introduction — usually a 20-minute visit — to make sure your pet feels at ease with me before I arrive for the sit. I pay close attention to their body language and routines, so the transition is smooth and stress-free. During my stay, I keep things peaceful, tidy, and consistent. I respect house rules and your pet’s routines — meal times, walks, play, downtime — so they feel supported, not disrupted.
“I chose Rebecca to look after my new 6-month old three-legged kitten. Based upon her profile and our meet & greet, I felt I could count on her to take good care of my precious little guy. Rebecca is an excellent communicator and detail oriented. My kitty was happy and well cared for when I returned. I will be reaching out to Rebecca next time I have to leave my little guy at home.”

About: I am the definition of an animal lover and find so much joy in caring for pets. I have cared for cats and dogs of all sizes, breeds and ages. Amber has been a loving care giver to my sweet cat, Noodle. It is so nice to know he is being well cared for while I’m away. I also appreciate her flexibility. This last trip I had to stay a few extra days and she made it easy for me to make that decision knowing Noodle was in good hands.

Cassandra was so great!! She was so kind with Walter, and sent me photos of how it went with him. It was also so easy to coordinate with her over text on how to get into my apartment (with a code) and on how to administer Walter's medication (oral and pill). I can't recommend more!!

Kristy was wonderful! She was very quick and responsive to helping me with my nine month old lil kitten, especially at a short notice for an unexpected work trip. She was also flexible to meet me in person beforehand to go over how to enter my place & Canela’s schedule. Kristy provided consistent photos and check-ins and kept Canela’s litter box nice and clean ✨ I would recommend Kristy and would definitely rebook whenever I’m out of town, and you should to ☺️

Laurena has watched our pets a couple of times now and we're so happy to have found her. We didn't have to worry a bit about our kitties while we were away. We received updates and photos regularly and the house was in great condition when we got back. Thanks again Laurena!

I had a wonderful experience with Amelia, who took care of my cat for three weeks! She is incredibly attentive and patient. When she first arrived, my cat was very scared and hid away. However, Amelia didn't rush things at all. With her gentle approach and great patience, my cat slowly warmed up to her, and they eventually started interacting and playing together. Having her around for three weeks gave me total peace of mind, knowing my shy cat was in such loving and reliable hands. I am so glad I found Amelia on Rover, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional long-term or short-term pet sitter! Thank you so much Amelia ❤️

This was a long hall being separated from Edger for a month. Te' did a great job. So many litter box refreshes, many cans to open and serve and dental treats to dispense. All done expertly. I go home earlier than expected but no reason to adjust any payout. My place was as good as I found it and Edger actually met me at the door late in the night of my return. Thanks to Te' my month out of California ended peacefully and calmly.

Aleja is an amazing pet sitter! Barnaby loves her - she is super responsive and keeps me posted about how he’s doing. She often goes beyond what is required of her to make sure he is comfortable. For example - she cut his nails for him though I never asked her to. She also builds a connection and is really well suited to care for pets! Could not recommend her enough.

Tammy is a truly awesome cat sitter who goes the extra mile to take care of our cats. Her updates are always detailed with great pictures (talented photographer!) and she clearly takes time to know and understand the cats and their unique personalities. Tammy helped a lot with our Litter Robot breaking down as well. Feel very much at ease going on vacation thanks to Tammy.
