“Maria came through for us and took care of Raylan when we needed. She even adjusted her schedule to fit some changes we needed and was easy to communicate with. We loved all the pictures and reports she provided. We will definitely book her again.”

“Laurena interacted with 3 of my 4 cats on her first visit to feed them—you have no idea how rare it is for someone to even *see* more than 2 on their first visit without me! She was very communicative and did a great job. We will definitely want Laurena to come back the next time our long-term sitter isn’t available.”

I’m responsible, patient, and dependable, and I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I enjoy walking, playing, and giving pets the attention they need while carefully following your instructions. I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own and keep you updated with photos and messages during every visit. I'm currently very flexible and available throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Since I have a flexible schedule, I can accommodate regular walks, last-minute bookings when possible, and recurring visits. I enjoy spending time with dogs and always make sure they get the exercise, attention, and care they need. I treat every pet as if they were my own, following each owner's instructions carefully regarding feeding, medication, routines, and exercise. During walks, I always prioritize safety by keeping dogs securely leashed, avoiding unsafe situations, and paying close attention to their behavior. My goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, safe, and happy while giving owners peace of mind.
“Kai is incredible! Communication was easy and she was so reliable. We have a senior cat that needed lots of special attention and a complicated feeding instruction, but Kai was able to administer everything the old kitty needed each day, with reports showing what we needed to know. She also noticed the old kitty was losing appetite and flagged it so we can change up his diet in the middle of the booking. We really appreciate the attentive care. We also have another very shy female cat in the house, and Kai was able to approach her on day three!!! It was extremely special.”

“Emily is an amazing pet caregiver! We were out of town for a week and Emily took care of our dear cat who is not the friendliest to strangers. The multiple photos and videos Emily sent every day gave us great peace of mind. Would highly recommend Emily!”

“Sarah replied promptly to my last-minute request for a mid-day check-in/potty break for my two dogs, and continued to communicate promptly with me as I emailed info about our home setup and their needs and possible issues. She was on time for the visit itself and sent me photos to let me all was well. I was very relieved since I had signed up with Rover the app years ago just in case I’d need it, but it was the first time I’d actually used the service and wasn’t sure how things would. But I’m very satisfied with how it all worked out!”

“Valen always takes the best care of our pets! This time, they dropped in to give both cats and both dogs attention. The creatures definitely appreciated their love and attention!”

About: Hi there! I have 18 years of experience caring for dogs! I have two dogs myself, as you can see in my profile picture. They’re called Okie and Kale! They’re extremely laid-back and friendly. I work from home, so I can pretty much keep an eye on your pet throughout the day. We have a clean home with everything that is needed to ensure your pet has a great time and feel safe. We have a backyard for those pets who like to be outside! We will take tons, I mean, tons of photos of your pet and update you with their day! I understand that every pet is unique, with their personality, needs, and quirks. I take the time to get to know each pet I care for, creating a personalized experience that caters to their individual needs. I’m here to provide the love and care they deserve. Please book with me! My schedule is flexible. My girlfriend has just the same experience taking care of dogs! Weekends we are free all day, send me a message for the times you need and we can make it work! I have a fenced big grass yard where the dogs can play fetch and soak under the sun. I have comfortable dogs beds, and a box load of toys they can play with!
“Our cat is very shy and cat sitters barely see him when doing check-ins. Somehow Rebecca gained his trust on the second day and he was comfortable being approached and pet. It made us feel better being away knowing that our cat wasn’t hiding the whole time we were gone. I’d definitely reach out to Rebecca again in the future.”

About: Whether high-energy pups or senior dogs needing a softer touch, I’ve built strong bonds with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and needs. I’m often the sitter called when a dog needs extra presence, patience, or someone who just “gets” them. I grew up always having dogs, and they are some of the best emotional support a person can ever get, and I think they deserve the same! Many dog parents have told me their pets don’t usually take to strangers — or men — but often within an hour, we’re friends. As long as their person is there in approval! I don’t rush connection. I listen, I observe, and I let each dog feel safe and that they have their space until they trust me to lead and care for them. Recent Dog house-sits have included: • A 1.5-year-old German Shepherd–Husky mix with boundless energy and some behavioral challenges who doesn't get along with his housemate, • A 15-year-old Border Collie–Akita senior companion with mobility needs. She has such a sweet heart, and she just needed to have her space protected, and they were able to start walking regularly together with me! • A 17-year-old Chihuahua-Chow mix with memory loss and low vision who is afraid of most people. It took him 2 months to bond with his "dad!" With support from his "mom," we were buddies within 30 min, and they are repeat clients! • A 17-year-old Beagle who doesn't like to be touched by anyone — but gave plenty of kisses and playfulness once she trusted me From long walks to short sniff sessions, playtime to quiet companionship, I adjust to each dog’s energy and needs. I treat your dog the way I’d want someone to treat mine — with genuine care, attunement, and respect for their space. My schedule & flexibility: I am pet sitting for my program and work remotely most days for Creative Generations, my pre-professional ballet dancer mentorship and wellness program! So I'm home and available for pet care, walks, and companionship throughout the day. Saturdays (and occasional Sundays): I coach some dancers and may be away for 4–5 hours. Once or twice a week (often Fridays): I help out at a friend's calm, quiet local shop. If you want, I've occasionally brought smaller, well-behaved dogs with me when appropriate—always with permission and only if the dog is comfortable! 🏡 How I Care for Pets in Their Home I treat every home I stay in with the same care, respect, and calm energy that I would my own. I know how important it is that your pet feels safe and secure in their space, especially while you’re away. I always begin with a calm, gentle introduction — usually a 20-minute visit — to make sure your pet feels at ease with me before I arrive for the sit. I pay close attention to their body language and routines, so the transition is smooth and stress-free. During my stay, I keep things peaceful, tidy, and consistent. I respect house rules and your pet’s routines — meal times, walks, play, downtime — so they feel supported, not disrupted.
About: I have always enjoyed being around animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I worked at a pet care facility for over a year, where I gained hands-on experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, cats, and multiple pets at the same time. I also learned how to give medications, trim nails, bathe pets, and follow different feeding, walking, and care routines. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs. Some pets may want lots of playtime and attention, while others need extra patience and time to feel comfortable. I offer drop-in visits, overnight stays, and long-term care when needed. I will treat your pets with the same kindness and attention I would give my own, while keeping you updated so you can feel comfortable while you are away. I am currently working part time and have availability at all times of the week. My week to week is adaptive based off of pets that I care for that week, my work schedule is very flexible and can move around when needed! At my home, pets have access to a fully fenced yard where they can safely enjoy supervised outdoor time. I also have a large SUV, so I can comfortably transport pets of different sizes for walks, park visits, or other approved activities. I live in a safe, centrally located neighborhood that is great for everyday walks. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I am respectful of both the home and the pet’s normal routine. I understand that every animal has different feeding schedules, exercise needs, comfort levels, and household rules, so I pay close attention to all instructions. My goal is to help your pet feel as safe, relaxed, and comfortable as possible while you are away. I am also happy to send as many photo and video updates as you would like, so you can feel confident knowing your pet is being well cared for.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Albany
V is fantastic! They were very patient with Teddy and provided such sweet photos with detailed updates on his mood, activity, food and litter status. They also kept his litter area clean which Teddy can be very messy If I wasn't moving away from the area I would have made them my go to sitter.

Jes is a fantastic catsitter! They checked in daily and sent so many great pics & videos. Our kitties were in good hands for over 2 weeks. I was happy to see that Jes was able to win over Violet so quickly! She’s usually not the friendly one. Would definitely book again!

Yen did an absolutely incredible job looking after our cat while we were away on vacation. Her daily updates were a pleasure to receive, with cute kitty pictures and helpful status updates. I got the impression upon returning that our cat was very well taken care of, and, as a bonus, there was no litter mess for us to clean up. Yen will definitely be our first call for any future kitty care needs while we’re out of town!

We really appreciate Lia’s care for our sweet girls! We always feel such peace of mind when Lia takes care of our guinea pigs - not only does do our shy piggies like her, but she also goes above and beyond expectation in letting the piggies get their floor time and making sure that their cage and our home stay clean.

This is our 4th or 5th time booking Michaela, and as always she was fantastic. Her daily pictures showed that even our shy cat was coming to hang out with her. She also goes above and beyond to look after the house, taking out the trash, etc. She’s well worth it and we hope to keep working with her in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
