“Missy has been walking my dog for about half a year now. She has been more than wonderful. My dog is not an easy dog. She's also very skittish around new people. Missy was able to work with her and transitioned well. Now my dog gets excited and happy every time she sees her. Missy is very attentive and follow instructions very well. She asked questions about my dog and was interested in getting to know her and care for her right. I believe her experience in working at shelters is an asset and help her in understanding dogs behavior and making them feel comfortable and cared for. She's also very on time, reliable, and responsible. All in all, I can't recommend her enough. She's just awesome!”

“Michael did such an amazing job caring for our dog while he was out of town! He took him for walks and also spent time playing with him in our yard so that he wouldn’t be lonely while we were away and sent us the cutest pictures so we knew that our little fluffball was doing ok! He also went above and beyond by bringing in our mail and packages and taking out our trash cans on collection day. Highly recommend Michael - he’s responsible, kind, and very easy to work with!”

“Cyndi was wonderful with my dog during the three weeks she walked him. He was always excited and happy to go with her, and I felt confident knowing he was in good hands. She’s reliable, caring, and clearly great with dogs. Highly recommend!”

“Rebecca is great with my dog and even brought him a companion one day. He needs more socialization with other dogs, so this was perfect for him. A very thoughtful and helpful touch.”

“Josephine is the BEST. She is perfect in every way - competent, caring, kind, friendly, nice, responsible, and Teddy Bear lover her so much. He waits at the door and cries for her when she is getting out of her car. I highly recommend Josephine. Thank you Jojo!!!!!”

“Pooya was professional and reliable, and took such great care of our pooch. Our dog was so happy to see Pooya for his walks. Pooya’s communication with me was excellent and prompt. It was such a pleasure to work with Pooya!”

“Lexx made time to do a meet and greet with Panda on a Friday evening and was great working with her (even though Panda tends to be barky and anxious). She followed our instructions and left a detailed description of her walk! Would definitely recommend Lexx!”

“Debi was amazing. She jumped into action only minutes after my request for help. I could not have asked for a better walker and caretaker for my pup. Thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty.”

“Rebecca was great. My 11yr old pup doesnt always want to wak in the evening, so she sat with him on the front porch so he could sniff the air and take in the view as he likes to do. Will rebook.”

About: Hi! My name is Vivi and I love dogs. (Actually, I love all animals!) I grew up with family dogs and adopted my own last year (she's a complete sweetie). I also have a cat, a bearded dragon, and fish. I worked in a local dog daycare and hotel for over three years and loved it! Now that I'm in a graduate program, I couldn't keep up the hours but missed the dogs. My favorite part of that job was walking the dogs and now I'd love to walk your dog. I really enjoy connecting with each dog, getting to know their personalities, taking care of them, and giving them the attention, stimulation, and fun that comes from being together and enjoying the day. I am currently working on my clinical hours for my degree and am busy Monday and Wednesday after noons 1-5pm and Thursdays at the same time and at 7am-10am every other week. Any other time is all good for me! When I take care of a pet, I care for them in any ways that they might need. I have had experiences with reactive dogs, dogs with specific medical needs, young dogs who are practicing training still, and senior dogs. I want to do what is most comfortable for the dog and am super happy to accommodate for any needs that they have when caring for them! I have experience reading and reacting to cat and dog body language and know when my presence is invited by them and when they might need more space. It's important to look for the animals consent and comfort when working with and taking care of them so they can remain as happy and stress free as possible!

About: I adore animals, and your fur babies will be well cared for; rest assured! I'm something of an animal whisperer; I tune in and speak their language. Hugs, songs, personalized care, bar none! I send updates with pictures! For me my love of pets began with Charlottes Web, my sweet Chihuahua who I nicknamed Toto (I fancied myself to be Dorothy), nestling next to my sweet kitty, followed by parakeets, and bunnies, I also collected plastic horses and chased butterflies. (Yes, I was that girl!) So, it became a natural fit, along with my career as a writer (that affords me a flexible schedule and much freedom), to make myself available at a moment's notice to care for home & hearth, animals of all stripes and breeds, large and small. I love what I do! I'm also available for longer housesitting jobs, traveling as needed, to care for your home: tending to mail, plants, garden, and of course, pets. I love repeat clients, that way, I get to know each one, establishing a bond. And in all cases, as a mature, kind, responsible caregiver, always responsive to needs, with a direct line of communication, so that you know your home and fur babies are always safe and well cared for =) NOTE: I'm between Nanny and FA contracts, so my current schedule is very flexible. I'm available for Housesits (home, animals, plants), dog walking, and drop-ins. Don't hesitate to reach out. I'm happy to help! Your pet's health and well-being are of the utmost importance! I am mindful of whatever is needed to ensure your pet is taken care of, be it physical or emotional, and I respect any protocols set in place. I avail myself of frequent contact should any questions or concerns arise to put your mind at rest!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - El Cerrito
Beverly was great with walking my pup (6-year-old but still a pup). She communicated very well, assuring me that she got into the home, that the pup greeted her, and that their walk went well. Beverly also took the time to share observations on the pup - like her fascination with birds and leaves. The experience went so well we have already booked again.

We were is lucky to find Sara! She was very communicative and took such care with our elderly dog. She was quick to notice little changes in his routine and point them out to us, which were very helpful in keeping him in good health. She was flexible to his needs. Sara gave us great piece of mind when we had to leave him alone during the day -even on days when he wasn't feeling his best. So thankful!

Linda went above and beyond when watching our dog Marlowe. I really appreciated the detailed reports she gave us on the time she spent with him. She clearly loves and understands dogs, and provided very valuable insights into to his behavior, as well as recommendations on how we can work with him to teach him new skills. Communication with Linda was great. She has a lovely personality. I feel lucky that we found her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
