“Mariah takes our dog for an hour long walk since my family is currently unable to do it every day after our schedules have changed. No complaints here. Mariah is very clear and communicative. 10/10 would highly recommend.”

About: I’ve had dogs for most of my life. I grew up with 4 bigs dogs. Recently I’ve been doing walks on apps, I’ve done over 70+ services ranging from taking care of old pets to very young ones. People always set me as their preferred walker since they love that I listen to their rules and go on long walks with their dogs. For a 60 minute walk I average about 2-3 miles, depending on the dog. I’m currently a student at San Jose State University and I look forward to doing some walks or other services on the weekends when I’m back home, also I can do walks or sittings on the weekdays when I off school. I have a fenced yard, the dogs and cats are allowed in the house and my room. I will make sure to always keep a lookout and have them be where I am at.

“Cyndi was so great with our dogs. They connected with her immediately and greeted her with enthusiasm on every visit. Friendly and reliable— our dogs definitely loved Cyndi’s visits and the variety of walks she took them on. We plan to have her care for our dogs again on future trips if she’s available.”

“This is a repeat hire due to the success and quality of the previous walk . Our Malinois is well rested after the walk , and communication with Judy was clear and comfortable . Heartily recommended!”

About: Small or large, reactive or secure, your dog will feel at home with me. For the last 10+ years I have been pet sitting and walking my neighbor's pets and this summer I'd like to expand my reach to the rest of the East Bay. I have experience administering medication, cooking food for pets, and making dogs feel at ease in my presence. In the last year or so I have picked up some dog training, and I would be happy to incorporate some of this training into my walks with your pup. Summer 2026 will be an extremely flexible time for me to pick up pet walking/sitting gigs. I have a dog of my own that will join dog walks only if my client is okay with it. I have a fenced yard and a housemate who works from home and loves dogs as well. I make sure my dog gets plenty of time outside and some movement throughout her day.
About: New to this but I've had lots of dogs and cats in my 61 years and looking to help out others and make new furry friends. I'm semi retired so I have lots of availability. I have a dog (Molly) who I hate to have a favorite, but she's the best dog I've ever had. Super chill, never needs a leash and I take her on lots of bike ride and electric skateboard runs around the hills in our neighborhood. I'll follow all the guidance from the pet parents in terms of safety and needs. I'll take the queue from you in terms of other animal interactions, or just do solo walks etc as needed. I'm very cautious and patient.

My partner and I currently working remotely at home; thus, our schedule is flexible. Once we are done with our work, we have plenty of time to serve your pet. I will treat your pet like my own pet. I will make sure your pet has access to water easily and have meals at their regular time.
“Rebecca was great. My 11yr old pup doesnt always want to wak in the evening, so she sat with him on the front porch so he could sniff the air and take in the view as he likes to do. Will rebook.”

“Alexandra is great! Very responsive to messages and great with our dogs. She also pays attention to details and points out anything of concern, including noticing a tick on one of our dogs that we were than able to take care of. She has been super helpful and we utilize her services anytime we can!”

“Rebecca is great with my dog and even brought him a companion one day. He needs more socialization with other dogs, so this was perfect for him. A very thoughtful and helpful touch.”

About: I'm an avid animal lover with a constantly revolving door. I volunteer through a rescue group and often foster dogs and help train and socialize them to make them better adoptees. I have a house and large yard for dogs to run and play in. There's a trail practically outside my door and a fenced in dog park down the street, not to mention the huge Pt Isabel park a few exits away. Why I love dog sitting Since I was little, I've always had dogs and other various pets. Currently, I volunteer with a few rescue organizations and help foster, socialize, and provide basic training to shelter dogs. About my yard I have a 6' high fence that fully encloses the yard. The yard is approximately 20'x40'; not a lot of grass but it's flat and we enjoy the sun out there.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Richmond
Rachael is amazing! She’s reliable, kind, and someone who truly cares about the wellbeing of the pets she works with. Knowing that my dog was in good hands made my transition back to the office so much easier. She’s great with communication and I always knew how the walks went. I’m so grateful we found her!

Beverly was great with walking my pup (6-year-old but still a pup). She communicated very well, assuring me that she got into the home, that the pup greeted her, and that their walk went well. Beverly also took the time to share observations on the pup - like her fascination with birds and leaves. The experience went so well we have already booked again.

Gabby did a great job with my dog, Murphy! Murphy’s a rescue chihuahua mix who takes awhile to warm up to new people. I know it was not easy, but Gabby got him out for two walks while I had to travel out of town for the day. I really appreciated Gabby’s patience with him and it was a relief to know he was in good hands.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
