About: I've been caring for dogs for over 15 years and have always enjoyed getting to know each dog's unique personality and routine. Whether it's a high-energy pup that loves long walks or a dog that just wants company and a consistent routine, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I'll follow your instructions closely and keep you updated with photos so you always know how they're doing. I work remotely, so I'm home most of the day and have a flexible schedule. That allows me to provide regular walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I always try to keep dogs on the routine they're used to so they feel comfortable and relaxed. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I'll treat your home and your dog with care and respect, follow your instructions closely, and make sure your dog feels safe and comfortable while you're away. Whether it's sticking to a feeding schedule, giving medication if needed, or following their favorite walking route, I'm happy to accommodate. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you have peace of mind.

“Katrina is amazing! It was clear from the intro how much she cared for dogs, and in the videos that she sent us of her time with our dog you could see how happy he was around her. We would recommend her to anyone, and will definitely utilize her services again!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life and have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, and other pets. I understand that every pet has a different routine and personality, so I take the time to make them feel comfortable and cared for. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, medication, or simply keeping them company, I’ll provide the same love and attention I’d give my own pets. I’ll also keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is in great hands. I currently work evening shifts, which gives me availability during the mornings, afternoons, even on my breaks and on my days off for walks, drop-in visits, and pet care. I do my best to keep my calendar up to date and only accept bookings I know I can fully commit to. I’ll always communicate clearly and make sure your pet receives dependable, attentive care Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, follow care instructions carefully, and respect your home as if it were my own. I’ll keep doors and gates secure, double-check leashes and harnesses, clean up after every visit, and send regular photo and message updates so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is for you to feel completely confident while you’re away.
“Whitney was wonderful! We had a small home hiccup but she stayed to make sure it was resolved which was the so above and beyond! Our cat had a great time with her and was very well cared for”

“Angela was amazing! I got pictures every day and she went out of her way to become friends with my shy kitty. I know my cats are safe and happy with Angela. I will be booking g with her again!”

“Hi Andreya, we loved having you visit us while our mom was out of town. We’re glad she’s home but we thought you were just great. Maybe we can get her to go on another trip soon so you can come play again soon. She loved your daily reports and treasures the pictures you took. Here’s licking at you! Toots and Zeke Renshaw”

“I will absolutely book Jocelyn again. She is a great communicator and my Golden retriever loved her. And she took lots of pics for me to obsess over after the visit. Thank you Jocelyn!”

“Hannah did a great job taking care of our cat! Easy to coordinate with and attentive to his feeding/play rituals. He was in great spirits when we came home. Would recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of both dogs and cats throughout my life. Recently, I started taking care of some of my friend’s pets and have gained valuable experience through them. I have taken care of cats of all sizes and energy levels, and have taken care of small-medium dogs. I’m currently working a full-time job from 7-4, but can swing before or after work, and during lunch time for an hour to take care of your pet! I am free weeknights after work, as well as on weekends. I can do drop-in care every 4 hours on weekdays, can stay overnight if needed, and/or can stay all day on the weekends. I do not have pets of my own, and live in a studio apartment so if your pet will be at my home, you will not need to worry about another pet being there. I have some plants that can be put away in a safe place if needed. If I will be staying at your home or doing drop-in care, I will make sure to treat it with respect and leave it how it was when I arrived.
About: I have had, and cared for, both cats and dogs of all sizes throughout my life. Having worked in a pet boarding resort, house-sat for several friends, and cared for my own pets, I am extremely reliable, attentive, and committed to making sure your pet is safe, loved, and cared for. I am currently working remotely, part-time, and have a very flexible schedule, which allows me ample time to care for and love on your babies! I give your pet(s) my full attention and ensure that all their needs are being met. I capture moments of them throughout my stay, and share them with you, so that you feel comfortable that your pet is safe and cared for!
“Taylor was fantastic. She did drop one for my dog 2 days in a row. She even came over to meet him ahead of time bc i was a little nervous (he had recently had surgery and was still in come/recovery suit). Would highly recommend and rebook.”

“Maria did such an amazing job taking care of my cat while I was away. She was super communicative and gave great updates and pictures, and gave my cat lots of pets and love--when we came home our cat was happy and in a great mood thanks to Maria's amazing care. Thank you again Maria!”

“Maria did a fantastic job with my two adult cats - one of whom has epilepsy and needs medication twice daily. I appreciated the care and attention she provided them and the photo and video updates.”
About: I have experience taking care of dogs since I was 10. I have owned 2 dogs in the past (male and female) and have experience training them to sit, paw, etc. Love playing with them to make sure they get enough enrichment and taking them on walks! I am a musician, so my schedule varies, but I perform and teach private lessons to students during the week, and also perform on some weekends, so we could work something out depending on your needs! With my experience caring for dogs it was at home with a fenced/gated backyard and with constant supervision! Taking them outside every couple of hours for potty breaks is essential and monitoring their food and water intake to make sure they are happy and healthy is vital!
“Highly recommend Molly to care for your pets! She’s super friendly, attentive to my puppy’s needs, quick with communication, and always available to help out. My puppy Stella absolutely adores Molly, and I know Stella is in good hands with Molly. Will be rebooking with Molly constantly!”

About: 13 years of hands-on pet care. I grew up raising dogs from puppyhood thru their senior years, trained my own dog from 8 weeks old, and cared for cats with disabilities via a rescue I volunteered with for years. Comfortable with the full range of ages and temperaments. Pet care is my primary weekday focus, not something squeezed in around another job, so I’m consistently available M-F, 8am-6pm. Weekends are open too, just book a bit ahead since those slots fill faster. I live in Hayes Valley, walking distance to Alamo Square, Duboce Park, and Patricia’s Green, so every walk includes real green space, not just a block loop. I do all walks on foot (no car) which means I’m present and unhurried the whole time. Dogs are only grouped together after a solo meet-and-greet, so I know how they’ll so together before anyone’s paired up.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - San Francisco
Diana was an incredible cat sitter! She was thorough in her questions, and took such good care of my cat while I was out of town. She provided great updates, super cute pictures, and was punctual. I would 100% recommend Diana and will definitely be booking with her again!

We had an amazing experience with Joslyn! She took wonderful care of our cat and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We loved the photos she sent and always looked forward to the funny notes in her Rover cards—they really made our day. She was attentive, kind, professional, and an excellent communicator throughout the entire stay. We came home to a happy, and well cared for Mr.Simba (our cat) and would absolutely book with her again. We highly recommend Joslyn to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter! This was also our first time using Rover so, such a great experience can’t express that enough :)

Maddi was amazing! I needed a last minute pet sitter after I’d already left town and she was willing to coordinate with my friends to sort out keys and access, and work with me over chat to get details on my cats. She gave thorough updates and pictures of the cats, and my super shy cat warmed up to her almost immediately. I will definitely be booking again!

Bailey was amazing! They provided such nice updates and took great care of our Tootsie. Tootsie was happy and content, and we felt like she was in safe hands while we were away. The house was cared for too, and really all around, Bailey was wonderful. I would have them come back to care for Tootsie any time. Thank you!

Janessa is one of the best sitters we have ever had! Her easy going nature, attention to detail, and care for animals is something very special. Janessa has cared for my cat multiple times, and each time is more special than the last. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for animal care!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in San Francisco. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
