“Jaron did an excellent job caring for our cat Bailee. He is personable and has excellent communication skills. Thank you Jaron for the wonderful pet care and for putting our minds at ease.”

“As usual Shao is the best! She dropped by to spend time with ozzy while I worked a very long shift. She walked, fed, gave his medicine, comforted and spent time with him. Ozzy is my senior dog that requires very specific care and she always does the best job taking care of him just as I would do. Shao always updates me consistently with photos and videos of what they’re up to, Ozzy always looks genuinely happy and comfortable, which is so so important because he gets very bad anxiety. Whenever I get home after Shao dropped by he always looks very peaceful and rested. Thank you Shao! Highly recommend!”

“Sarah did drop in visits to provide my pup with sub cutaneous fluids each day I was out of town. I had already scheduled a sitter who was a great fit for us but wasn’t comfortable with giving my girl fluids. Anyway, Sarah to the rescue! She made me feel so comfortable that my senior pup with special needs was in good hands! I would definitely book her again for any service!”

“She was very thorough and took good care of our cats!! Both of our cats are a handful but she managed to look after them with ease. She made sure to interact a lot with them during the short amount of time she had with them each day, and I appreciate that she asked us a lot of questions when she needed more clarification on something. We would definitely book with her again!”

“Vanessa was very communicative around planning the visit and she was also very respectful of my cat’s boundaries around new people! She also was skilled in giving my cat her medication with minimal resistance haha. Thank you for taking care of her!”

“Sandra was wonderful! She went above and beyond for my cat (who is usually shy meeting new sitters). She was lovely and adaptable to our needs and took very good care of both my cat's physical needs and her home environment while I was away. She also provided a preliminary meet and greet visit and plenty of pictures and updates throughout the booking. Will definitely book again in the future if at all possible and cannot recommend Sandra enough!!”

“I booked Sin Hang last minute once I realized I desperately need help with my new rescue. She was very responsive, easy to communicate, and non-judgemental. I highly recommend this sitter.”
“I don’t normally leave reviews unless I feel very propelled by something that matters to me. I’ve got to say Elba is the most amazing dog sitter I have ever worked with, and I feel very lucky to have found her here. My dog is a little sensitive senior, and he absolutely loves Elba. I would have given her 10 out of 10 ⭐️ if I could. I could list so many important, great qualities about her, from her soft skills and “customer service” to her passion and love for my baby, which become clear in my dog’s behavior after spending time with Elba. She is intuitive, smart, ethical, kind, knowledgeable in her work, and has communicated with my dog in ways that really fascinated me multiple times. She is the definition going above and beyond! I can think of examples for every words I used to describe her. If you get lucky enough to book her services, you can be sure your baby will be in good, caring hands 😇”

“Jie was a wonderful cat sitter! She stopped by to feed, scoop litter, and play with our two boys while we were away for a few days. She kept me well informed and updated and sent tons of pictures of her visits. It was so nice to have peace of mind while I was away and know my cats were well taken care of.”

“Emily was fantastic with my cat Sola. They were prompt with communication and left very detailed check-in notes about Sola, which gave me great peace of mind. Emily was also very flexible when it came to coordinating key drop-off/pick-up. I would highly recommend Emily's services to anyone!”

“My has helped us take care of our babies twice now and she’s the best! She’s very attentive and always shares a bunch of photos and details about the visit with us. Our kitties love her. Thank you My!”

About: Hi, I am Erika and I’m looking to love on your dog or cat! I’ve been a dedicated dog lover my entire life. Growing up, my family had a Maltese mix. Later on, my sister adopted a cat who successfully converted our family to being cat lovers. Our beloved dog has since passed away, and I’ve missed having a furry companion as a buddy on my walks. Although I dont currently have a pet of my own, I am auntie to many of my friends’ dogs & cats now. Growing up with both a dog and cat, I’m experienced in providing attentive and reliable care for either drop-in visits or walks for dogs and cats. I’m highly communicative and love snapping both glam and action shots, which I will always send your way. I'm typically available in the early afternoons and evenings for walks and weekends for drop ins. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously. I currently work full time at a school so I am available in the afternoons and evenings. I also have availability on the weekends for drop ins Whether it’s a meet & greet, or following special instructions to care for their pets, I am happy to follow the owners lead to make sure the best care is given
About: I have my own cat as well as fostered dogs for a rescue. I love all animals and also have experience taking care of fresh water aquariums (I have a 20 gallon myself) and small rodents (in personal and professional capacity). I'm just starting out on Rover, so my rates are on the more affordable end. I work full time standard business hours, but I am happy to check on your pet before or after work. I am also available during weekends and on most holidays. I would love to take your puppy on a nice walk or have a play session. With cats, they dictate the terms of our friendship. We can have a blast with a wand toy, snuggle, have a Churru moment, or I can just take care of the feeding and cleaning if the kitty is not friendly.

About: Hi, I have ten years of experience caring for dogs. My beloved Rover (German Sherpeherd and Rottweiler mix) passed away last year due to ailment. He lived for 11 years. I also used to work in Nevada and was taking care of two Chihuahua beauties. Please be mindful of the fact that all dogs were rescue dogs. My Rover was rescued from Oakland. My co worker couldn't afford to take care of the Chihuahuas due to medical bills so I stepped in to help for the year I was in Nevada. Recently, on my vacation in Costa Rica, I managed to rescue a Beagle mix puppy from a construction worker who said he found her in a box on the street!!!! I asked my father in law if he had space for her in his house in Costa Rica and amazingly he agreed. Needless to say, I love dogs and have experience with small and big dogs. My wife, kids, and I share the same love for dogs.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - South San Francisco
Sandra was an excellent sitter - she updated me in detail with every visit, made sure my kitty was equipped with food, water, and fresh litter, and always tried to socialize with her even when she was being a grump. She also was very flexible and extremely helpful when my schedule changed last minute - she truly saved my skin! I cannot recommend Sandra enough!

She was very thorough and took good care of our cats!! Both of our cats are a handful but she managed to look after them with ease. She made sure to interact a lot with them during the short amount of time she had with them each day, and I appreciate that she asked us a lot of questions when she needed more clarification on something. We would definitely book with her again!

Jasmine (Jie) was a wonderful sitter for our cat. We booked 2 weeks of drop in visits while we were traveling and she went above and beyond. Our cat loved her and we could travel with a peace of mind since we knew she was taking good care of her. She is very attentive and also very responsive to messages. She would notice little details and changes in our cat and let us know immediately. We would love to keep working with Jasmine in the future!

Yu-Hsuan was a great sitter for our two cats! She is very thorough and took many pictures to share with us while we were away. I appreciate her care and attention to detail. Both cats liked her a lot 😊 We got stuck while traveling and she was able to be flexible and drop in an additional time at the last second. Thank you again Yu-Hsuan!

Savannah took care of my cat Chibi for 2 days while I was away. Chibi seems to enjoy her company a lot when she visited—she played with her and seems very affectionate with her as well which is so nice and assuring for me since I know my fur baby is in good hands. I highly recommend Savannah :)

Jen continues to go above and beyond for Cloak. She's attentive, thoughtful, and shows so much love to him, and she's been a great communicator and very flexible with us. We've been able to take longer trips away thanks to her, and our normally anxious boy is so calm and normal when we get home now. When our plans have changed last minute, or when we have new needs and requests as our boy ages, Jen has been a joy to work with. Highly recommended!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
