“This is my second time booking Tina to look over my 1 year old cat, Matilda. And I will definitely be booking her again. The first time was only for a few days but this time around it was for a full week. She's punctual & super communicative. I was never worried about my cat while I was traveling. Tina has done a really great job taking care of Matilda. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cat sitter!”

About: I've been around animals my entire life and have always been comfortable caring for them. I grew up with cats and have experience feeding, playing with, and caring for them throughout my life. I've also helped neighbors by checking in on their pets while they were away. Although I don't have professional pet care experience yet, I'm responsible, patient, and committed to following each pet owner's instructions to make sure their pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I'm excited to provide loving care for both cats and dogs. I am currently a university student and have a very flexible schedule, especially during the summer months when I am not taking classes. This allows me plenty of availability throughout the week for pet care services. I can plan my day around visits, walks, check-ins, and can accommodate morning, afternoon, or evening care depending on the client's needs. Although I don't have formal professional experience in pet care, I've cared for cats my whole life and understand their behavior, needs, and comfort. I also helped a neighbor by checking in on her cat whenever she was away. I'm responsible, attentive, and genuinely love being around animals
About: I am an animal lover with two cats of my own. Currently, I work at a vet hospital and have experience with both cats and dogs. Additionally, I’m a pre-veterinary student so I’ll take any chance to hang out with animals as I can! I work at a vet hospital from Wed - Sat but I am free for bookings Sunday - Tues all day! Drop-ins before 11am could be made possible for Wed-Sat I do not offer pet care in my own home but I am able to do drop-ins or walks wherever the animal is located! I have my drivers license as well.
“James is the best of the best! Our cat LOVES him and he is truly one of a kind who adores animals! We love having James take care of our cat over and over! Thanks James!”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, from tiny lapdogs to 100+ pound pups who are convinced they’re lapdogs too! In recent years, cats have become a big part of my life as well, and I’ve grown to appreciate each cat’s unique personality and needs. As a caregiver by nature, I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet loves playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I’m committed to providing attentive, loving care and plenty of companionship. I currently work as a child caregiver 9-5. Once I’m off for the day I will immediately check on your fur baby and give them all the love and care they need! Your pet’s safety comes first! I carefully follow all care instructions, monitor behavior, maintain routines, and provide a calm, secure, loving environment while you’re away.
“Again, Perry did an amazing job walking my 2.5 year old American Eskimo. Ocean has a handful of special monitoring needs due to a chronic GI condition and his playful interest in exploring, if not trying to consume, anything. Perry is extremely conscienscious and is very alert to Ocean's behaviors. Perry is also wonderful at making sure my dog is properly back in his kennel area when he drops off and leaves. Ocean is also over the top happy and excited the moment he realizes Perry is coming to walk and play with him. Its been really wonderful and a relief to know I have Perry onboard to walk and care for my boy.”

“Rene did a fantastic job taking care of our cat! Based on the pictures, our cat really adored him. He was also easy to communicate with and very thoughtful, going above and beyond to see after some small thing in our home while we were gone. Highly recommend!”

“My was fantastic! She spent quality time with Moose and Daphne during her drop in visits and was able to manage Moose when he had a mischievous streak. She clearly has great experience with a wide variety of dog ‘personalities’ and I highly recommend her work!”

About: I have my own cat as well as fostered dogs for a rescue. I love all animals and also have experience taking care of fresh water aquariums (I have a 20 gallon myself) and small rodents (in personal and professional capacity). I'm just starting out on Rover, so my rates are on the more affordable end. I work full time standard business hours, but I am happy to check on your pet before or after work. I am also available during weekends and on most holidays. I would love to take your puppy on a nice walk or have a play session. With cats, they dictate the terms of our friendship. We can have a blast with a wand toy, snuggle, have a Churru moment, or I can just take care of the feeding and cleaning if the kitty is not friendly.
“Simonee did 3 drop in visits for our dogs and did an awesome job. My dog even had an accident in his crate and she cleaned it all up without complaining! Super awesome at communicating and great with our pups! Will definitely use her again!”

About: Hello! My name is Andi, I own a German Shepherd/Husky mix with lots of energy! I have experience walking, bathing, feeding, and training pets. I also have experience in de escalating situations and assessing when a pet is over stimulated. I am comfortable with dogs & cats of all sizes and more than willing to care for pets with special needs so long as I am given proper instruction for the care they require before hand. Looking forward to hearing from you! My schedule is currently very flexible. I have an SUV which can comfortably fit up to 3 dogs, making commute very easy. I prefer house sitting requests to be a few days in advance. I love spending time with animals and volunteering at shelters, I have taken care of many pets through my time as a pet owner. Not every animal is comfortable with strangers upon first meeting, which is absolutely something I have encountered and worked through. It is a joy to see pets come out of their shell as they become more comfortable around a new person. In addition to patience, I have experience in high stress situations and am a quick thinker due to this. I value strong communication and practice it daily.
“Rachel did a great job taking care of my kitties and communicating with me. She was very loving with my cats, did everything I asked for and sent me a good report. My cats seemed to really like her, even my super shy cat came to see her on the first visit.”

“Vlada was pleasant and easy to work with! She responded promptly and was up for the challenge of taking care of our senior gentleman feline who requires medication and supplements with his feeding. She was happy to connect on a video chat prior to the sitting. We recommend her and would book with her again!”

“Marisela has been great with our dog Mochi. We usually have her come by for 30 minute drop ins while we are in office or out for extended periods in the day. Communication is great and she always comes as scheduled and provides several photos. Would highly recommend her!”

About: Hello, your pet can call me Auntie Drew! I have many years of experience with dog and cat rescue. I’ve also volunteered at the Palo Alto animal shelter, ran a breed specific meet-up/rescue and participated in a pet assisted therapy group at the Stanford children hospital for many years. I have had dogs and cats my entire life. I’m excited to be able to meet new dogs and cats and give them the upmost care, comfort and safety in my home. Auntie Drew will take care of your fur baby as good as you would! Every guest goes home with a new toy. 💕 I take guests out for potty breaks at least 5 times a day (more if I have a thirsty customer or senior dog). I also have an enclosed private dog park to use that is very clean. I’ll always be there 100% for your pet giving them attention and will love them like my own! The goal is to have my guest dog happy, comfortable, exercised, well feed and watered and returned safely to their family members. For safety reasons and to give my full attention, I will only have one dog at a time and up to three pets (cats included) from the same family. So if you have three dogs or two dogs and a cat that’s fine. They will be the only ones I take care of. My home is minimal and I have open rooms with no doors so I’m always in the same room with the pet. I do not let my guest dogs come in contact with any other dogs during walks or at the private dog park. Safety is of the upmost importance to me. I won’t be taking my doggie guest for car rides, non-private dog parks or Fort Funston for safety reasons. I know when I boarded my own pets I just wanted them returned to me safely after having a comfortable stay so that is my goal for pet guests.

So appreciated Simonee’s professionalism and warmth toward our elderly cat. Simonee was so communicative, like when our automatic feeder wasn’t working, and also helpful with rolling our trash bins out on garbage day. We really trust her and would highly recommend her.

Vlada was pleasant and easy to work with! She responded promptly and was up for the challenge of taking care of our senior gentleman feline who requires medication and supplements with his feeding. She was happy to connect on a video chat prior to the sitting. We recommend her and would book with her again!

We engaged Chenyang for several drop-in visits to take care of our cats. She is very responsible, communicative, and punctual. She’s detail-oriented and took photos of her work to assure us that everything was in order. She’s very kind and gentle to pets and our cats warmed up to her very quickly. We would definitely work with her next time!

I recently just moved to the Bay Area and I had to take a trip shortly after, so I got in contact with Shailyng. One of my cats has had health issues in the past related to moving, so I was worried that this would be an issue again. Having Shailyng come over daily and give me an update on their health and wellbeing was a huge reassurance and relief during my trip. Even though they were hiding during their visits she would keep me updated very closely and even worked with my landlord to make sure they were okay.

She was very thorough and took good care of our cats!! Both of our cats are a handful but she managed to look after them with ease. She made sure to interact a lot with them during the short amount of time she had with them each day, and I appreciate that she asked us a lot of questions when she needed more clarification on something. We would definitely book with her again!

Benjamin was great! It was our first time using Rover and using someone not referred to us. Benjamin was super easy to work with and very communicative. It was our first time leaving our kitty since we moved here and Benjamin was understanding to my nervousness of leaving her and completely reassured me through pictures and his reports. We'll definitely use his services again.

Jasmine (Jie) was a wonderful sitter for our cat. We booked 2 weeks of drop in visits while we were traveling and she went above and beyond. Our cat loved her and we could travel with a peace of mind since we knew she was taking good care of her. She is very attentive and also very responsive to messages. She would notice little details and changes in our cat and let us know immediately. We would love to keep working with Jasmine in the future!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
