"We are so grateful for everything James has done for Diane and Devi, lovingly referred to as 'The Ladies.' They absolutely adore him, and it’s been amazing to see how much they thrive under his care and attention. James has been a true blessing to our family, bringing so much love and dedication into their lives. His compassion and commitment shine in everything he does, and we couldn’t ask for better support for The Ladies. Thank you, James, for being such an incredible person!"

Jason is great. My pup loves him. He plays with him and takes him for nice walks. Usually my dog is shy with new people, but he adopted Jason right away,.

About: I’ve cared for my own two friendly cats, Ace and Olive, for years, and I regularly help friends and neighbors with their pets. I’m patient, gentle, and attentive to each animal’s unique personality. Whether a pet is social, shy, energetic, or calm, I always make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. I work on weekdays, but I’m fully available on Friday nights and throughout the entire weekend. This gives me plenty of time to focus on pets staying in my home. Your fur baby will get consistent attention, playtime, and care during their stay. Pets staying in my home will enjoy a clean, calm space with a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time. I have two friendly boy cats, Ace and Olive, who are gentle and used to being around other pets. I follow all care instructions closely—feeding schedules, clean-up, treats, and comfort routines. I always prioritize safety, give regular updates, and make sure your pet feels relaxed, happy, and cared for while staying with me.

This is a long overdue review, but Maria is literally the best!! She’s been taking care of my dog Rado since January of this year, and she is so incredibly kind, reliable, patient, and amazing with Rado. Rado is on the more nervous and reactive spectrum, as he is a rescue from another country. Maria is able to work with his anxiety and stubbornness despite it all. If you are looking for someone to help take care of your fur baby, cannot emphasize Maria enough. She’s truly amazing! I cannot thank you enough!!

My work tends to run late on certain days so I needed someone to let Mocha out for a potty break and walk. Ajani was amazing with his patience in getting to know Mocha as she's nervous with strangers. Ajani was great in updating me how the progress was going with their interactions and how the walk went. Now I have no worries at work knowing Mocha has someone like Ajani to care for her.

About: I have independently taken care of my dogs as young as 9 years old. I have personally raised my own dogs since they were puppies. I have made home-cooked meals, groomed, and love to stay active by bringing them to the beach, parks, and easy hikes! I am currently working a part-time job and college student, but would love to transition into a much flexible & fulfilling job, such as dog sitting. Cleanliness and staying active are priorities when it comes to caring for my fur baby, Koa. She may be shy at first, but she’s incredibly sweet and loves playing with her squeaky toys and puzzle toys that keep her mentally stimulated. Koa enjoys spending time outdoors, so we go on regular walks and visit nearby parks whenever we can.

About: I've been around animals my entire life and have always been comfortable caring for them. I grew up with cats and have experience feeding, playing with, and caring for them throughout my life. I've also helped neighbors by checking in on their pets while they were away. Although I don't have professional pet care experience yet, I'm responsible, patient, and committed to following each pet owner's instructions to make sure their pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I'm excited to provide loving care for both cats and dogs. I am currently a university student and have a very flexible schedule, especially during the summer months when I am not taking classes. This allows me plenty of availability throughout the week for pet care services. I can plan my day around visits, walks, check-ins, and can accommodate morning, afternoon, or evening care depending on the client's needs. Although I don't have formal professional experience in pet care, I've cared for cats my whole life and understand their behavior, needs, and comfort. I also helped a neighbor by checking in on her cat whenever she was away. I'm responsible, attentive, and genuinely love being around animals

About: Hello, your pet can call me Auntie Drew! I have many years of experience with dog and cat rescue. I’ve also volunteered at the Palo Alto animal shelter, ran a breed specific meet-up/rescue and participated in a pet assisted therapy group at the Stanford children hospital for many years. I have had dogs and cats my entire life. I’m excited to be able to meet new dogs and cats and give them the upmost care, comfort and safety in my home. Auntie Drew will take care of your fur baby as good as you would! Every guest goes home with a new toy. 💕 I take guests out for potty breaks at least 5 times a day (more if I have a thirsty customer or senior dog). I also have an enclosed private dog park to use that is very clean. I’ll always be there 100% for your pet giving them attention and will love them like my own! The goal is to have my guest dog happy, comfortable, exercised, well feed and watered and returned safely to their family members. For safety reasons and to give my full attention, I will only have one dog at a time and up to three pets (cats included) from the same family. So if you have three dogs or two dogs and a cat that’s fine. They will be the only ones I take care of. My home is minimal and I have open rooms with no doors so I’m always in the same room with the pet. I do not let my guest dogs come in contact with any other dogs during walks or at the private dog park. Safety is of the upmost importance to me. I won’t be taking my doggie guest for car rides, non-private dog parks or Fort Funston for safety reasons. I know when I boarded my own pets I just wanted them returned to me safely after having a comfortable stay so that is my goal for pet guests.

So happy to have found Marisela. She is very accommodating and flexible and showed very gentle care with my pup, which I of course adored right away. She texts me pictures, videos and lets me know when she picks my doggie up and drops her off. I know my dog is in good hands and I can go to work without worry or feeling guilty. I trust Marisela to be here for my pup and that they have a great time. Thank you!

About: Hello! My name is Andi, I own a German Shepherd/Husky mix with lots of energy! I have experience walking, bathing, feeding, and training pets. I also have experience in de escalating situations and assessing when a pet is over stimulated. I am comfortable with dogs & cats of all sizes and more than willing to care for pets with special needs so long as I am given proper instruction for the care they require before hand. Looking forward to hearing from you! My schedule is currently very flexible. I have an SUV which can comfortably fit up to 3 dogs, making commute very easy. I prefer house sitting requests to be a few days in advance. I love spending time with animals and volunteering at shelters, I have taken care of many pets through my time as a pet owner. Not every animal is comfortable with strangers upon first meeting, which is absolutely something I have encountered and worked through. It is a joy to see pets come out of their shell as they become more comfortable around a new person. In addition to patience, I have experience in high stress situations and am a quick thinker due to this. I value strong communication and practice it daily.

My dog and I have been so happy we found Perry. Perry does an amazing job walking, playing and monitoring Ocean. Ocean has. a chronic GI condition and also wants to eat anything he can get to in the house or on walks. I've had a hard time finding someone who can really care for my dog. Perry Is extremely talented at looking out for things Ocean can get at. He also does an excellent job of redirecting If my dog starts having episodes of leash reactivity. It is evident Perry has strong training taking care of dogs. I appreciate that he listens carefully to what the plan is when he drops in and the thorough report and pictures. Best of all, my dog is really happy whenever he sees Perry. I am extremely comfortable knowing Perry can take great care of my mischievous and often sick dog.

Seng was awesome! She made time for a meet and greet and few days before our walks were scheduled to begin and asked all of the important questions to understand how to best care for our dog. She's very kind, upbeat and clearly loves pets. Our dog can be a weirdo with people sometimes but he very clearly loves Seng and she loves him too. She was great about sending photos and keeping us updated with each walk. I would highly recommend Seng to walk your dog!!

About: Hello! My name is Luisa and I've been a loyal dog sitter for the past 4 years to a sweet Shih Tzu. I also own a Shih Tzu myself. I have a variety of experience working in others homes (housekeeping, child care and private chef). If you have a full time job and hate leaving your fur baby alone, you'll be out of town/overnight, or just need someone to check in for walks and food, I would love to help! I’m extremely open and flexible with my time, as long as there is enough notice. I babysit outside the home once a week and have an active healthy lifestyle (the more walking the better!) I have a large & safe fenced backyard. My home interior is well kept and always clean (hardwood floors throughout). I provide lots of care and attention (talking and petting!)

About: I have first hand experience training puppies and older dogs all their basic commands, tricks and potty training. During boarding, I also can provide light dental cleaning, grooming, and bathing as needed. I also have experience administering medication if needed. My love for animals since I was young have translated into a passion of caring for furbabies young and old. I started Rover due to my own experience when I have to take long trips and I rely on my dog sitter to take care of my young dog, Max while I’m away. It gave me such peace of mind knowing I have someone who I can fully trust to keep my furbaby safe, healthy, and happy while I was away. Since I work from home now, I’d love to be that person who’s there for you and your furbaby when you need it! My goal is to provide you the greatest peace of mind for when you travel and are unable to be with your furbabies by providing of my undivided attention and care for them while you’re away! Breeds that I’ve onboarded/have experience with: Larger Breeds: - Samoyeds / Australian Shepherds / Labradors / Goldens / Border Collies / Poodles / Large Poodle mixes Medium/Smaller Breeds: - Yorkies / Shihtzu / Pomeranians / Chihuahuas / Maltese / Pugs / Frenchies / Cavalier King Charles Spaniel / Corgies / any small poodle mixes I work from home full time so I’m available around the clock to give love, attention, affection, play time and frequent potty breaks! I’m typically available for pick up/drop-off starting at 9am but flexible to take accommodations if needed! I have a large nearby park and a 6 year old pomchi to keep your fur babies company with plenty of play time! I also have my own grooming tools so sometimes I like to help with light upkeep as I see fit and of course with your permission in advance (ex. light trimming around paw areas) to keep your pups looking fresh. I also may give your doggie a bath if they end up getting dirty during playtime or as needed!

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Colma. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Colma.

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
