About: What sets me apart is the genuine love and patience I have for every pet I care for. I treat them like my own, taking time to make sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable. I’m great with all ages—from playful puppies who need guidance and fun, to senior pets who need a slower, gentle, and caring touch. I always adjust to their needs and personality. I also love keeping pet parents updated with photos and messages so you always know your furry baby is safe, loved, and in good hands. Taking care of pets fits easily into my daily routine because I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I love going on walks, playing, giving belly rubs and cuddles, and making sure every pet feels happy, safe, and loved. Caring for them never feels like work—it’s something I genuinely look forward to every day! I care for every pet like they’re part of my own family. I love getting to know their unique personalities and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. Whether it’s going for walks, playing with their favorite toys, giving cuddles, sticking to their feeding routine, or just keeping them company, I’m happy to do whatever helps them feel at home. I also love sending photos and little updates so you can relax knowing your furry friend is happy and in good hands.
“Alyssa has walked our gentle giants twice now. Our two dogs have very different walking styles (different levels of athleticism, large weight difference) and different personalities. Alyssa has willingly navigated those challenges. Our dogs are comfortable with her and return happy. She has also been quick to respond, and it is easy to communicate with her. Thank you, Alyssa!”

“As always, Cheryl is great with our dog and is always very responsive and reliable. We appreciated her responding to a last minute request for a much needed dog walk. We can’t wait to use Cheryl again!”

“Lehna has been a great resource for the care of my two staffies. I have booked her several times already for walks and drop ins. She responds very quickly to requests, has strong communication skills and she updates me with details about how my dogs behaved with her. She has been professional and responsible and I can easily recommend her.”

“Ayva has been amazing with Milo! She’s reliable, communicative, and I always feel comfortable knowing he’s in good hands with her.I really appreciate how dependable she is and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog walker!”

“Ivan stepped in to help walk our two large to giant sized dogs shortly after my husband had surgery, sometimes supporting after last minute notice. Ivan is a good communicator. He smoothly navigated our dogs’ different personalities and walking styles (and a talkative neighbor). Ivan was also conscious of how the recent heat wave may affect our dogs’ safety and offered potential solutions. Thank you, Ivan!”

About: I’ve owned dogs ever since I was a child and have cared for dogs outside of my family for a little over 5 years. I love being able to learn the different personalities of each dog I come across. I also have professional work experience at a dog boarding company for a little over a year. I know how to handle dogs of all shapes and sizes and temperament ranges. I own my own dog, Obie, so I am always caring. I am open most days of the week excluding Tuesdays and Thursdays when I have class. I am available mornings though on those days. I am well versed in adapting to the dogs specific environments it’s comfortable in, matching its energy level and always being comforting and loving no matter what.

About: I’ve been around cats and dogs my whole life, and I’m comfortable caring for animals of different breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. I grew up with cats and was lucky enough to have a litter born in my room, so I’ve been around them from the very beginning. I also grew up with dogs of all sizes and personalities, from playful high-energy dogs to older dogs who need a gentler pace and a little more support. I’m especially patient with animals that are shy, skittish, cautious, or slow to warm up. I know not every cat or dog wants to be approached the same way, and I try to meet them on their terms, earn their trust, and make the interaction feel safe and positive. Whether that means a walk, playtime, quiet companionship, or giving them space, I want your pet to feel comfortable with me. When I take care of an animal, I treat them like they’re my own. I’m attentive with feeding, water, litter boxes, walks, routines, house instructions, and updates. My goal is simple: for you to feel confident while you’re away, and for your pet to get care, attention, and comfort from our time together. I currently have flexible availability and can work with different pet-care needs, including walks, drop-in visits, cat care, and in-home pet sitting. I’m available for weekdays, weekends, and overnights depending on the request, and I’m happy to discuss your pet’s normal routine so I can keep things as consistent as possible while you’re away. I do not offer boarding in my home at this time. For walks, drop-ins, and house sitting, I care for pets in their own home and follow the owner’s instructions closely. I pay attention to feeding routines, fresh water, litter boxes, doors, locks, leash safety, and keeping pets secure and comfortable. I’ll also provide updates so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away.
About: Hi! I’m Victor! I love animals! Over the past 6 years or so friends and clients have hired me to pet sit, dog walk, drop in on their cat, look after the puppy, feed the bunny, you name it!! I’ve got tons of animal experience from being out in nature so often in my life. My older brother worked for the zoo when I was growing up, I held all sorts of reptiles and birds. I exercise daily, so adding your dog to the routine is a great way to spice things up! Although I’ll do my best to match your dog’s energy. Getting excited enough for a run is a good thing, but calmness has value too. I do command training whilst out and about with your dog reinforced with treats and/or attention. I try to care for your pet as best I can while you’re away. Currently I am enrolled in class once a week so I have availability to be certain your pet has attention all throughout the day, alone for 3 hours at the longest. Typically I walk the dogs I sit for about 1-4 hours over the course of 2 walks and 2 relief breaks to get outside. I believe it’s important for dogs to be outside and experience smells. It’s so cute to see them sniff around! I wake up to do exercises before taking the dog out on what aims to be a long morning walk. Especially if we didn’t get out the night before. This ranges from 3-6miles depending on how much time we have. Upon returning, breakfast, stretches and playtime. At this point, if I have work, I step out until I’m finished and then return for an afternoon walk, dinner, stretches, and a relief walk before zzz. Without work I’ll cuddle with the dog, clean up the place, cook some food, do various training exercises with the dog, or go out on extra walks. I don’t offer boarding services at my place unfortunately.

About: Hi! I’m Rene — a part-time Nursing Assistant and part-time pet sitter with 10+ years of experience, and I’m almost always accompanied by my 28-lb dachshund mix, Eli, who loves helping me entertain other pups. We make a great duo for pets who enjoy company, playtime, or just having a buddy around. I’ve cared for puppies, seniors, shy pets, energetic breeds, and animals with special routines or medications. My nursing background makes me calm, attentive, and great at keeping pets on schedule and comfortable. I’ve worked with dogs, cats, small animals, and even some farm animals over the years. No matter the pet, I focus on helping them feel safe, loved, and understood. What sets me apart is my patience, communication, and the added comfort of having a friendly dog companion for pets who enjoy social time. Eli and I keep a calm cozy home environment, but we love to be active & go to nearby beaches, trails and parks in Pacifica. We treat every pet like part of our little pack! Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine since I work part-time as a Nursing Assistant and have a very flexible schedule. I’m home often, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, walks, structured playtime, and consistent routines. I plan my shifts and errands around the pets I’m caring for so they always get reliable care without long gaps. As a part-time in-home Nursing Assistant, my schedule is very flexible- I’m home most days and build my schedule around Eli’s needs, so any pet staying with us fits right into that rhythm — lots of attention, play, and a predictable, loving routine!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
