About: I’m a loving cat mom of 5+ years with a lifetime of experience caring for cats of all ages. I’m competent in simple dog training and am open to dog-sitting/walking, but cats are by far my specialty. I have proven experience building trust and bonding quickly with new cats, even those with behavioral issues or shy demeanors. I’m a teacher looking for extra summer work, so I’ll have plenty of time to care for your furry friends June-August! I can make up to 5 visits on weekends and 3 visits on select weekdays. I will be nannying part time and will be available before 2pm and after 6pm on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please message me with any questions! I am soft, gentle and empathetic with all new pets I meet, especially when I’m entering their safe space! My cat was a mean, shy little boy when I adopted him at 7 months; but now at 5 years he’s happy and comfy as can be. I hope to provide this same experience for your pets, whether it be a short drop in or an overnight visit.

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and caring for them has always been second nature. I grew up with a dog and a duck, and have continuously lived in homes with cats and dogs through college and graduate school, so I’m very comfortable with their routines and behavior. I’ve also cared for pets for friends and family over the years, including feeding, walking, cleaning, and making sure they feel comfortable and well cared for while their owners are away. I understand the importance of consistency, attention, and keeping pets on their normal schedule. I also have three tortoises of my own, including one I’ve had for nearly 23 years, which has made me especially attentive to routines, environment, and long-term care. I am currently volunteering at the Kitten Nursery with the Peninsula Humane Society, where I help taking care of kittens too young for adoption. I have a very flexible schedule through freelance consulting work, which allows me to be available for pet care most days of the week, including weekdays and weekends. I can accommodate a variety of schedules, whether it’s regular visits or last-minute needs. The only consistent commitment I have is volunteering on Monday afternoons at the Peninsula Humane Society, but outside of that, I’m highly flexible and able to adjust to your pet’s routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, litter box or cleanup routines, exercise, and any specific preferences your pet is used to. I take a calm and patient approach, especially with shy or more independent pets, and make sure they feel comfortable in their own space. I also keep the home clean and organized, and treat it with the same respect I would my own. I’m attentive to any changes in behavior or health and will communicate updates regularly so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away.

About: I have two years of daily, hands-on experience caring for my own dog, Kylie. She is energetic but can be shy in unfamiliar situations, so I have learned to read a dog’s body language, give them time to adjust, and build trust without forcing interaction. In addition to caring for Kylie, I regularly help care for my friends’ dogs when they are away. This has given me experience following different feeding, walking, playtime, and bathroom routines and caring for dogs with different personalities and energy levels. I am patient, attentive, and careful about following each owner’s instructions. I will treat your dog with the same care I give my own and provide regular photo and message updates while you are away. I currently have a flexible schedule, so I am able to plan my day around pet care and provide consistent attention rather than rushing between visits. I am generally available on weekdays for walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting. I can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening care depending on the booking. I will confirm my availability before accepting each request and make sure I have enough time to follow your pet’s usual feeding, walking, playtime, and bathroom routine. I provide care in my client’s home, where pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment. Before the booking, I prefer to have a meet and greet to learn about each pet’s personality, routine, care instructions, and any special needs. I carefully follow the owner’s directions for feeding, walks, playtime, and medication. I pay close attention when entering or leaving the home and always check that doors, windows, gates, leashes, and harnesses are secure. I will never let a pet off leash or introduce them to unfamiliar animals without the owner’s permission. I respect my client’s home, keep the pet’s space clean, and maintain their usual routine as closely as possible. I also provide regular photos and updates and will contact the owner promptly if I notice any unusual behavior or health concerns.

I believe in sending LOTS of photos and updates, and making sure your animal baby is safe and happy while you are away! Your animal baby will be cared for as if they are my own. My fiancé and I both work from hom and our dog is 4 years old and super friendly. If your dog wants a friend to walk with or have a play date with or just stay the night, let me know :)! I'm taking time off from work and I'm free all the time. As for a routine, I take my dog for atleast 3 walks a day. We also go on trails hikes or to the beach. I treat any pet like it's my own. All I can say is that when you go on vacation and your a pet parent, the last thing you want is to worry about the well being of your dog. Well KATIE definitely gave me peace of mind and and allowed me to enjoy my vacation knowing that my dog Boris was in GREAT hands. After the meet and greet, I already had a sense of comfort because of her experience and super friendly demeanor. She also sent me pictures of Boris during walks and my family even told me that my dog can sense that she was close to come get him because he would start to act anxious and wait for her at the door. Knowing that truly solidifies her ability to love and care for your pet. If I ever need someone to walk/watch my dog(s) again, Katie will be my definite go to. THANK YOU KATIE! Oh...she also gave us a farewell dog toy and homemade chocolate chip cookies on her last day walking Boris. This is great customer service and definitely built a great rapport with my family and I.

Rumi may have found her new favorite person in Lizbeth! Rumi is still a puppy and she can sometimes be a bit distracted while on walks. With Lizbeth, however, loose leash walking around the neighborhood wasn't a problem at all, even with skateboarders nearby and leaves blowing in the wind (her absolute favorite thing to lunge at). Lizbeth was communicative, prompt, and from the big smile Rumi had after she came home from her walk, you could just tell that Lizbeth has a special way with dogs. We absolutely loved our experience with Lizbeth and would highly recommend her!

About: Growing up, I cared for two little rabbits, two turtles, and fish! For the past two years, I’ve also been helping my relatives walk and care for their dogs, and I’ve found so much joy in spending time with them. As an incoming college freshman, I may not be able to have a pet of my own right now, but I would really love the opportunity to give your furry friends the care and attention. I’m so excited to make every pet feel safe, joy, and loved while you’re away. 🐾 I’m currently working part-time. As an incoming college freshman, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate time to pet care. I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors, so dog walking fits naturally into my routine. I am available during my free time throughout the week and can provide reliable walk and attentive care. I would love to make it a meaningful part of my weekly routine. I provide loving and safe care by following pets’ routines, offering treats, teaching fun tricks, and keeping a close eye on them during walks to make sure they don’t pick up unsafe during walks.

About: Have volunteered at a cat shelter for six years with young and senior kitties, and have had puppies all my life! Very comfortable with the grouchiest or shyest of the bunch. I focus on socializing and enriching activities so that your kiddos can go straight to a nap after I leave. Happy to do some cleaning during my visit to keep things tidy. Laid off right now and apart from studying for a certification, I'm home and available for visits! My radius is set small so I should be a max ~10 min drive away, easy :-) When doing home visits it's important to me to show respect for you and your home while you're gone. Open to following any additional non-pet instructions to keep your home fresh!

About: I am a dog lover who wishes I had a fur baby of my own. Until it’s the right time, I resort to loving and taking care of other dog lover’s pets. I would love to give your dog lots of love, pats, and exercise — just as I would my own. I am a student and study a lot in my house so would love to have a dog friend to take much needed breaks with (and earn some additional income!). I would love to meet your fur baby, become their new friend, and see how I can best serve their needs. You can trust that your best friend is safe in my hands as I’m a very conscientious and cautious person. Thank you.

Lauri is absolutely amazing with our anxious rescue Piper. From the very first meet-and-greet where she showed up in bright colored leggings so that Piper could identify her, to her very patient steps to build trust and rapport with our pup and each family member (even remembering career paths and school trips!), Lauri is nothing but pure heart, sincerity, and kindness. This particular neighborhood walk turned into last minute daycare on our mutual continual conversations, when we all could see Piper coming out of her shell. One of Lauri’s many great talents is being able to discern the limits of our Piper — when to challenge her and when to give her space — and this gift has been rewarded with Piper welcoming Lauri with a greater speed than she ever has anyone else. We are thrilled to have found Lauri and know that she will be folded into our village for years to come.

She was extremely professional, responsive, and reliable throughout the entire process, which gave me a great deal of peace of mind while away. My dog and I have been so happy we found Perry. Perry does an amazing job walking, playing and monitoring Ocean. Ocean has. a chronic GI condition and also wants to eat anything he can get to in the house or on walks. I've had a hard time finding someone who can really care for my dog. Perry Is extremely talented at looking out for things Ocean can get at. He also does an excellent job of redirecting If my dog starts having episodes of leash reactivity. It is evident Perry has strong training taking care of dogs. I appreciate that he listens carefully to what the plan is when he drops in and the thorough report and pictures. Best of all, my dog is really happy whenever he sees Perry. I am extremely comfortable knowing Perry can take great care of my mischievous and often sick dog.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
