“Heleen was very punctual and prompt in responding. She came to walk lucky at exactly 7:45am which I really appreciated. She was transparent in communicating any potential concerns walking Lucky in our busy neighborhood. Would definitely have her walk our dog again!”

About: I’ve been an in-home house/pet sitter for 3 years now with some consistent and happy pet families. I am happy to stay in home, drop in, do walks, and I’m experienced with cats and any sized dog. I have classes 3 days/week in the mornings, and then work everyday for 3-5 hours in the afternoon. I have space in between those commitments. I put the animal’s needs first! I love to do their favorite things with them. Running, playing fetch, cuddling, going to the park, going on walks, etc.
“Emma has been wonderful taking Koda on walks! She is very diligent about Koda’s condition and even applied cold compress when Koda’s limping without me asking her to. Emma is kind, caring and punctual! Will definitely recommend Emma to anyone to care for their furry friends!”

“Peter was great! He was so good with Norman and he sent me lots of photos. When he came for our original meet and greet, he was right on time and so personable! I will definitely use him again!”

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was 7, and I have efficient experience with petting and playing with them. I always build up strong trust and a connection with them. I am currently WFH as a full time financial advisor, but I have plenty of time to walk dogs during the week days. I am also available full days on weekends. I am surrounded by a community of dog lovers. I also have a white Great Pyrenees in my house. Just let me know your needs, and I will make sure to satisfy them to the best of my ability.

About: I've had 8 dogs in my lifetime since I was a kid. As an adult I was able to have my dogs potty trained and listening to commands by the time they were 3 months old. I love dogs but my husband is a cat person. I'm currently working 4 days a week and found that I want to do something that brings me joy and activity. I would love to have pets of my own but unable to at this time. I am able to walk and care for pets anytime after my full time work or on my days off. My apartment is pet friendly, has a big grass area within the complex, and easy access to the cemented bay trail that goes from the park next door to Foster City.
“We had a great experience with Amber. She was very experienced and did a great job walking our dog. I appreciated her prompt responses and photo updates too! Will definitely use her again!”

“Ray was great with Jimi! Jimi is leash reactive and not friendly with other dogs, plus he is very strong, so I’m always worried when someone else walks him. But I felt extremely confident with Ray walking him. He also spent extra time with Jimi and they played in the backyard after each walk. Additionally, I appreciated how communicative Ray was with me and all the pictures that he sent while I was away. I can’t recommend Ray enough!”

About: i grew up dogs so i work best with dogs! i love getting playtime in with dogs to get all their energy out. but i also love lounging with dogs in the sun and giving them quality time. i know puppies can be a lot, but with detailed instructions, i can help watch and reinforce puppy training as i know how crucial puppy training can be. i have little experience with senior pets but am opening to learn as all pets need care. all i ask is for a typical day to day glimpse so ur fur babies have minimal disruption to their usual routine. i am familiar with cats and can help provide basic care as well why am i doing rover? i sadly live away from my family and my apartment doesnt allow dogs ): i grew up around dogs and wish i could own one right now. i'm hoping to do rover to make a lil more income, get my steps in, but most importantly get some quality pets in because i miss dogs the most i work from home so i can be flexible with my availability to care. early mornings can be tough but anytime after will be fine. if ur comfortable, i can work from ur home so ur dogs can have a buddy almost 24/7 i love to treat all pets like they're part of the family. i know some dogs can get anxious so i wanna do my best to make sure they're getting the best care while their parents are away. i don't do well with kids but i do great with pets! i am transparent with my communication so i please ask that you are just as transparent with me to ensure your pets can get the best care. unfortunately, my apartment does not allow any pets, but i don't want to let that stop me from a daily dose of animals.
“Tiffany was great and took care of my dog very well. She was communicating and always responsive, followed all my instructions for feeding and giving medication. Would hire again.”

About: Our place is 15 mins from SFO. You can drop off and park at street during your trip! I’ve provided boarding and day care service for my clients, family & friends for over 5 yrs now. We have a 4-yr old Formosan Mountain Dog, Koko. She loves chasing with her fur friends in our backyard. I take at most 1 NEW client at a time(no more than 3 dogs for repeating client). Your pet will receive great attention and a careful watch during their stay with us. I’m currently working from home so I’m always there for your pup. Staying at our home will include 1-2 walks a day around the neighborhood. If your pet is good with car trips, we also go to a large near by park by car frequently. Potty breaks can be provided every 2 hours in our large, fenced backyard. Your pet is welcomed to stay indoor with us, or if they like taking a nice sun bath on our backyard porch. The side doors to our backyard and fences are always well secured. We have a spacious backyard with fence for your dog to have fun and exercise. My schedule is rather flexible depends on your pet’s need. Normally we do 1-2 walks a day and frequent potty breaks. See description section for our routine. I have a large fenced yard, with natural grass, turf playground, and a porch for sun bath. The side doors are always well secured. We will never open front door without securing your pet. I watch when your pet is playing outside. We also have cameras around the house that’s always on.
“Rong has been wonderful with my dog, Hopper. He can be a stinker with new people, especially when his people are home. Rong has treated him with kindness, mindfulness, and has been very attentive to his needs. Her gentle touch helped him to come around sooner rather than later. I’m thankful to have Rong working with a Hopper!”

About: I have 3+ years of hands-on experience caring for my two cats, and I regularly look after a friend’s Shiba Inu for about a month each year. I’m a native Mandarin Chinese speaker and fluent in English. 欢迎全程使用中文沟通,包括见面了解、照护说明和每次服务后的照片与情况更新。 I’m comfortable with feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes, walks, playtime, and following detailed care routines. Living with a shy cat has taught me to be patient, read pets’ body language, and let them approach at their own pace. I pay close attention to changes in appetite, energy, behavior, and litter box habits. I’ll also provide clear photo updates so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I currently have a flexible schedule and can provide drop-in visits and dog walks on weekdays and weekends, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I limit my daily bookings so I can arrive on time, follow each pet’s routine carefully, and give every pet my full attention. I keep my Rover calendar updated and appreciate at least one day’s notice from new clients so we have time to confirm care instructions and arrange a Meet & Greet when needed. I care for pets in the comfort of their own home and follow each owner’s instructions closely. Before the first booking, I prefer a Meet & Greet to review feeding, water, litter boxes, walking routines, home access, emergency contacts, and any health or behavioral needs. During every visit, I make sure doors and gates are secure, keep dogs leashed outdoors, avoid interactions with unfamiliar animals, and respect your home. I also send photos and detailed updates about your pet’s food, water, bathroom habits, energy, and behavior.
“Sameena was amazing! She took great care and alerted me immediately when she noticed a health issue with my pup. Thanks to her, I was able to come home and bring my pup to the vet. 🙏 🙏 🙏”

About: I live with two dogs of my own as part of a full multi-pet household, so daily care isn't new to me — it's routine. I have specific experience with senior dogs, including the extra patience and attentiveness that comes with mobility issues, changes in appetite, and adjusted exercise needs. I'm comfortable administering medications — pills, liquids, or topicals — and keep careful notes on dosing and timing so nothing gets missed. My apartment includes an oversized outdoor patio for fresh air and relaxing evenings, and our community also has a dog run that's always accessible for exercise and playtime. Whether your dog is a high-energy pup or a slower-moving senior, I adjust my pace and attention to what they actually need. Pet care is my full-time focus, because I don't work outside the home, my schedule is wide open — which means I can offer walks and drop-in visits at the times that actually fit your pet's routine, not squeezed into a narrow morning-or-evening window like many sitters. Mornings are typically free for early walks or first visits of the day. I have consistent availability through the afternoon for midday drop-ins, potty breaks, or a second walk if your dog needs it. And I'm just as available in the evenings for a final walk or check-in before you're home. Whether your pet needs one visit a day or several spread throughout, I have the flexibility to actually be there when it counts. Safety and trust start with creating a calm, structured environment where pets can settle in and feel at home. My apartment is a full-time, attentive household — with two dogs and several cats of my own, pets who stay or visit here are never left alone for long stretches, and routines (feeding, medication, walks) are followed closely and consistently. I keep a close eye on interactions between visiting pets and my own animals to make sure everyone is comfortable, and I'm attentive to signs of stress so I can adjust the environment as needed — whether that means quiet separate space or supervised introductions. Outdoor time is always supervised, whether that's the patio, a walk, or the community dog run, and I take care to secure doors, gates, and any potential hazards throughout the home. Your pet's safety and comfort are treated with the same level of care as my own.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have raised my very own puppy! All rescues! Individually given the love attention, food and care that they deserve! I’m currently studying to get my DVM! I’m currently working part time, and I always love to offer a helping hand when I can! Even if that means scooping some poop lol I have an apartment with a big outdoor space in the middle! I live in a suburban neighborhood so all walkies are safe filled with water bowls and treats!

“Allison has been such an amazing "friend" to our dog, Kona. We can tell how much Kona is loved and cared for while we are away at work and school. We get regular updates on how Kona is doing, including pictures! Would definitely recommend Allison for your dog's needs!”
About: I’m a reliable and experienced dog walker and pet sitter with over a year and a half of professional experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. I also have experience caring for cats. I’ve loved animals my whole life and was a dog and cat owner myself. My dog was part of my family for 13 wonderful years, so I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, feeding, fresh water, medication, or simply some companionship while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. After every visit, I send photos, videos, and a short update. GPS walk tracking is also available whenever possible, so you’ll always know how your pet is doing. I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and respect—as if they were my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family! I offer a flexible schedule during the week. Whether you need regular walks, drop-in visits, cat care, or occasional pet sitting, I’ll do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine and your schedule. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow your care instructions, respect your pet’s routine, and pay close attention to their behavior and needs. Whether it’s a walk, feeding, medication, or quiet companionship at home, I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Sarahi was absolutely wonderful with our furry baby, King! I really appreciated how thoughtful and attentive she was. She even made little suggestions to help keep King comfortable, like opening the blinds so he could look out the window—something I had actually thought about doing but completely slipped my mind! I also really appreciated how well she communicated with me throughout her time with King. Her updates gave me peace of mind and made me feel so much more at ease knowing he was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Sarahi and will absolutely book with her again!
Nicole is fantastic! She is truly a dog whisperer. Enzo took to her right away and looked forward to his walks with Nicole each day during our trip. She also truly help with his behavior training during our trip. I am already reviewing our future needs and locking in those dates. Thank you Nicole!!
Rumi may have found her new favorite person in Lizbeth! Rumi is still a puppy and she can sometimes be a bit distracted while on walks. With Lizbeth, however, loose leash walking around the neighborhood wasn't a problem at all, even with skateboarders nearby and leaves blowing in the wind (her absolute favorite thing to lunge at). Lizbeth was communicative, prompt, and from the big smile Rumi had after she came home from her walk, you could just tell that Lizbeth has a special way with dogs. We absolutely loved our experience with Lizbeth and would highly recommend her!

Lauri is absolutely amazing with our anxious rescue Piper. From the very first meet-and-greet where she showed up in bright colored leggings so that Piper could identify her, to her very patient steps to build trust and rapport with our pup and each family member (even remembering career paths and school trips!), Lauri is nothing but pure heart, sincerity, and kindness. This particular neighborhood walk turned into last minute daycare on our mutual continual conversations, when we all could see Piper coming out of her shell. One of Lauri’s many great talents is being able to discern the limits of our Piper — when to challenge her and when to give her space — and this gift has been rewarded with Piper welcoming Lauri with a greater speed than she ever has anyone else. We are thrilled to have found Lauri and know that she will be folded into our village for years to come.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
