“Winnie and Boba are THE BEST!!! 🏆 Winnie accommodated a last-minute request over Thanksgiving weekend so my husband and I could take a day trip. She even offered a meet-and-greet video call beforehand, which really put my mind at ease since it was our second time using Rover for dog sitting. 🙏 Throughout our communications, Winnie was friendly, responsive, and incredibly helpful. My doggo had a blast playing with Boba, and she sent us plenty of photos and videos showing how much fun they were having together. 🦮🐕🦺 When we picked him up, my dog was clearly sad to leave - always a good sign! 🥹🥲😭🫶 We're already looking forward to our next booking. Highly recommend Winnie and Boba, especially if you have a smaller breed that likes to run and play. ✨”

“Anna was amazing! Her communication was very quick and clear. She sent me tons of pictures throughout the day and made me feel very comfortable. Leaving my two-year-old dog with her for the day. She was super flexible and pick up and drop off time and Rilee just put all of my pet sitting anxiety at ease. I will definitely be using her again!”

About: Hey there! I’ve been pet-sitting friends’ dogs and cats for years. I’m the person at the party that hangs out with your dog near the snacks 😄 Open to overnight stays and also walks/check ins, or local hikes if your pet wants a little adventure. I’m a healthcare admin professional, currently working a hybrid work-from-home schedule. I’m available mid-day through the evenings, and occasionally weekends for overnight stays as well! I am able to travel a bit to petsit your fur friend where they’ll be most comfortable. Can follow any rules you have for your pets, just let me know!
About: I’ve taken care of domestic animals since I was very young. Animals have always been part of my life, and I truly enjoy caring for them, pets are part of our daily routine. My daily routine already includes caring for dogs. I run a small mobile dog grooming business, so I am used to being around pets every day. I’m also used to taking care of animals since I was young, so feeding, walking, playing, and giving attention to pets fits very naturally into my routine. I live in an apartment, but my complex has a dog park and very dog-friendly spaces. Pets will always receive attention, supervision, and a calm environment. I make sure they are safe, comfortable, and follow the routine provided by the owner, including feeding, walks, playtime, and rest.
“I feel completely at ease leaving my fur baby with her, knowing Mochi will be cared for with love and attention. —Mochi adores her, and it’s clear Shirley treats her like one of her own.”

About: One dog at a time is my policy - because your dog deserves undivided attention, not a crowded house. I'm Fenna, a dog mom to Jazz, my 4-year-old corgi, and I've been caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments for over 5 years. I work from home, which means your pup is never left alone - there's always a human around to give belly rubs, play, or just keep them company on the couch. I live in an apartment with a dedicated fenced dog park right in the building, so outdoor time is easy, safe, and on-demand. You can count on regular photo updates and open communication throughout. Your dog is family - I'll treat them like mine. I work from home, so your dog will always have company - no long stretches alone on the couch. I believe in following your dog's existing routine rather than imposing a new one, so I'll ask about their schedule upfront and stick to it as closely as possible. Whether that means a morning walk, midday playtime, or afternoon naps, I'll make it work. I'll send regular photo updates throughout the day so you always know how your pup is doing. Your dog's safety and comfort is my top priority. I live in an apartment with a dedicated enclosed dog park in the building, so outdoor time is safe, convenient, and available any time of day. At home, your dog will share the space with Jazz, my friendly and well-socialized 4-year-old Corgi, and since I only take one dog at a time, there's no competition or conflict to worry about. I'm happy to follow any specific care instructions, including crating if that's what your dog is used to. I am also open to a brief meet-and-greet with Jazz to make sure both dogs are comfortable and set up for a happy stay.
About: Having raised my own puppy and dogsat for friends with anxious pups, I'm well versed in how to provide for a pup's full time needs. I can also provide puppy training in house manners (for example: waiting patiently to be fed, waiting at doors, simple commands). My care and attention to my own puppy, Chef, is full time and I am super excited to share that with your pup. We can go on excursions or hang around the house or play fetch at the dogpark. Whatever your pup is up for. I have a fenced yard and a friendly pup for your pup(s) to play with! And if your pup doesn't want company for whatever reason, I have gates and crates to make sure they are safe and happy in their own space. Feel free to request photos/videos and check in anytime for updates.
About: Hi, I’m Thiago! As a lifelong dog lover, I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs and caring for them since childhood. My family has always had dogs, giving me years of hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Today, I’m proud to turn that lifelong passion into a career, providing reliable, loving, and attentive care for every pet as if they were my own. 🐾🐾 We’re a family home where everyone is passionate about dogs! I’m home full time so your dog will always be supervised and never left alone. We treat every dog like family and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved throughout their stay 🥰 All care takes place in my home, where I’m with the dogs full-time. Since I care for the pups myself throughout the day, I do not offer dog walks or outside outings. They enjoy a safe, supervised environment with a large fenced backyard to play, relax and socialize! I have a big fenced yard, turfed and lotta space for your puppy, I have a friendly dog so is a good company to have fun!! Our home is located only 4–5 minutes from the SFO airport which makes drop-off and pick-up super convenient for travelers. We also know that life can be unpredictable, whether it’s a delayed flight, traffic, or last-minute changes, we’re flexible and always do our best to adjust accordingly. My sister has been a professional dog sitter for years, but she’ll be taking a few months off for an upcoming foot surgery and recovery. I recently moved in to help her, and caring for dogs is now my full-time job. If you’re here from her profile, I’d love the opportunity to care for your pup and continue providing the same loving, safe and home away from home experience! ❤️
“Anna and Conrad took great care of Teddy for the day and was able to accommodate our last minute request for booking and changes. Our guy is a little shy around other dogs so they were extra patient and caring to ensure he was okay and even allowed us to meet before our daycare so the dogs can get exposure. We also have a special diet and due to a recent illness and they were able to continue with our feeding instructions (even letting us know how much he consumed in the meal). I would be more than happy to drop off our dog for another session with them. Thank you Anna, Conrad, Mochi, and Olive!”

About: Hi! 😊 Thank you for considering my services. As an individual who enjoys taking care of dogs of all ages and sizes, I understand each dog's breed, age, and personality are uniquely different. As a result, my care is specific to your pet. In addition to their tailored needs, I give extra care on their walks and boarding experience to make sure your dog enjoys their scenic walks, potty breaks, afternoon naps, and night time Zzz. Attentive care= happy dog= happy owner= happy life. I am available to care for your dog either playing with them at home and taking them on walks around the neighborhood, park, or green scenery to help with their sensory output 🐶. My place is frequently cleaned and always locked to make sure your dog is safe and comfortable. There is enough space for your dog to walk around and the place is quiet so your dog can rest.
About: I am a physically active recent retiree and capable dog lover who recently lost my beloved Wheaten Terrier after 11 great years with him, so I'm well able to care for your very active or senior dog that might have special dietary or physical needs. I'm recently retired and home every day, so I have lots of time to care for your pet. Drop-off and pick-up very flexible every day and evening. Although we have a securely fenced and paved back yard, it contains a swimming pool, so we kept our own pet indoors or on our fenced in, covered deck/patio which is also secure. We have a large dog crate which our dog slept in every night, but this is flexible depending on your own dog's sleeping preferences. I do not let pets sleep on my bed. We live on a very quiet street with no 'through' traffic, so it's easy to walk your dog regularly without risking encounters with other pets. Our own dog was not comfortable around other dogs and this was easy for us to manage.
About: I grew up with my brother's dogs and have been watching dogs professionally for the last three years. Just as happy to take a high-energy dog as a mellow old senior citizen. Even the stubborn ones :) I work from home as a writer and can give your pup lots of attention throughout the day. I take regular breaks to step outside to Washington Park or the fields and like to do a longer walk on the Bay Trail or Coyote Point once a day. I have a big grassy enclosed yard, too, with no dogs on the other side of the fence. If they like having a playmate, my brother’s dog Junior is three blocks away and always down to play. The yard is enclosed and I am home for most of the day on any given day. If they get cold easily, I’m happy to cover them with a blanket when they are resting. I’m a coldie too and like my house warm, so I get it! During hot days, the house stays mercifully cool, and I have a fan to help dogs with thicker fur.
“Marcel was well taken care of with Ivana! If you want a tired puppy this is definitely the place. Ivana was consistent with keeping me posted on how Marcel was doing throughout the day. Very accommodating with time frame as well! Definitely leaving a tip for that helped me out so much! Has spent repeated days with her and everytime was exhausted! Her dog was friendly with our puppy as well, helped with socializing him!”

About: Pets are humanizing. They remind us of our obligation and responsibility to preserve and care for all life - James Cromwell As a child I spent summers on a farm and have always been connected to nature & animals. My first pet was a chicken at 7yrs old and had cats my whole life, even throughout college! My first dog was a female Shelted Sheepdogs (sheltie) then we got her a brother a year later. What fun sweet memories and joy having them growing up. Humans can learn a lot from our pets, their unconditional love & playfulness. Caring for animals is a privilege. Similar to raising children (I have two teens) and requires lots of awareness, love, patience, attention to detail, and kindness. Safety is always priority number one I work an office job from 8a-5p during the week and am available for pet care after hours, early mornings, and on the weekends. If a client is near my office or home I’m able to visit sooner. I live in a nice neighborhood near a great park and walking trails. My home is safe, organized, clean with fenced yard and two pets (dog & cat) to keep your fur baby company. If your pet is crate-trained I can support that too.
“Rosie was wonderful with Stella and listened to all our instructions about food, commands, and little quirks. Our fur baby was so excited to see us after and is now happily resting at home. I think she had a great time with her stay!”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats my entire life, I am an animal person to the core. I have free time and would love to take care of your dog and provide my dog with a friend, win-win! I believe in sending LOTS of photos and updates, and making sure your animal baby is safe and happy while you are away! Your animal baby will be cared for as if they are my own. My fiancé and I both work from hom and our dog is 4 years old and super friendly. If your dog wants a friend to walk with or have a play date with or just stay the night, let me know :)! I'm taking time off from work and I'm free all the time. As for a routine, I take my dog for atleast 3 walks a day. We also go on trails hikes or to the beach. I treat any pet like it's my own. Having another dog around would be great! I communicate with my customers for any specifics or special requests within reason.

We would definitely book with Stephanie again! From the moment Marcel was dropped off, Stephanie kept us updated with consistent messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. We especially appreciated seeing how well he interacted with the other dogs and knowing he was happy, comfortable, and enjoying himself. She was also incredibly accommodating with scheduling, making the entire experience stress-free. The best part was picking up a happy, well-cared-for puppy. It was obvious Marcel received plenty of attention and care while he was there. We left feeling completely confident that he was in great hands and wouldn’t hesitate to trust Stephanie with him again. Highly recommend!

Casey took such great care of Sopita, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. She was attentive, kept us updated throughout the stay with photos and messages and gave us so much peace of mind. Casey was also very flexible and accommodating with both drop off and pick up times. It was clear she genuinely cared about Sopita and made sure she was comfortable, happy, and well cared for. We would absolutely book with Casey again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a communicative and caring sitter!

We are so happy to have found Camille. She accommodated Luna's stay within a short notice. Luna came back home happy and relaxed. We couldn't ask for more, as Luna can be very shy at times. Communication is great and Camille always send us updates and photos which we enjoy and gives as an extra peace of mind while we are away. Thank you for taking such good care of Luna and we will continue to use Camille's services for sure!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hillsborough commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 4,883 sitters in Hillsborough, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
