Welcome to Lauri and Friends Pet Care — where hospitality-inspired care meets canine adventure. Every pet has their own personality, comfort level, and communication style, and I love learning what helps them feel safe, confident, and balanced. My customer service management experience at an emergency veterinary hospital (formerly SF SPCA, now SF Animal Care & Control) gave me valuable experience supporting the wellbeing and safety of both feline and canine companions. My family and career have also been deeply rooted in the hospitality world, which I love incorporating into my pet care approach. From structured adventure walks and personalized updates to boutique-style boarding and in-home care, my goal is to create enriching experiences that bring peace of mind to both pets and their humans. My lifelong pet care journey began with caring for a wide variety of personalities and breeds within my own family — from the spirited energy of German Shepherds like Rocky and Ozzy, to the playful antics of Doberman mixes like Josh, and the gentle (sometimes spirited!) companionship of Bernese Mountain Dogs like Oliver. These experiences deepened my appreciation for the unique emotional and physical needs every animal brings, as well as the powerful bonds they share with humans. One of my greatest strengths is helping dogs and humans feel more connected, understood, and at ease together. Compassion, communication, safety, and authenticity are at the heart of everything I do. Your pets and home will be treated with the same level of attentiveness, respect, and care that I would want for my own family.

Lauri is the BEST! She spent time getting to know us, our dog and learned our needs. She went above and beyond to make sure our dog felt loved and comfortable during her boarding stay, sent lots of pictures and updates. Lauri is absolutely amazing with our anxious rescue Piper. From the very first meet-and-greet where she showed up in bright colored leggings so that Piper could identify her, to her very patient steps to build trust and rapport with our pup and each family member (even remembering career paths and school trips!), Lauri is nothing but pure heart, sincerity, and kindness. This particular neighborhood walk turned into last minute daycare on our mutual continual conversations, when we all could see Piper coming out of her shell. One of Lauri’s many great talents is being able to discern the limits of our Piper — when to challenge her and when to give her space — and this gift has been rewarded with Piper welcoming Lauri with a greater speed than she ever has anyone else. We are thrilled to have found Lauri and know that she will be folded into our village for years to come.
Lauri was really great and took excellent care of our 8 month old puppy Benji! It was very easy to trust her with Benjis care! She made sure he had a lot of both physical and mental exercise throughout the day and shared regular updates. You can tell she is very passionate and knowledgable about pups. She goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect and is very flexible to accommodate their needs and development. She gave us a lot of tips and tricks after spending the weekend with Benji! Highly recommend Lauri! We are excited to keep working with her!
Lauri has walked our Samoyed, Elsa, for over a year now, and we truly cannot say enough wonderful things about her. It is incredibly rare to find someone we trust so completely with our precious dog, and Lauri is exactly that person. She has a true gift with dogs—Elsa absolutely adores her and gets visibly excited every time she arrives for a walk. Lauri thoughtfully implements and tailors training techniques specifically for Elsa, reinforcing good behavior and helping her continue to grow. She is always open to feedback and genuinely cares about doing what’s best for Elsa. Lauri is also extremely communicative, providing detailed updates, photos, and thoughtful feedback after each walk. Beyond her professionalism, she is simply a kind and good person—going above and beyond in ways that don’t go unnoticed (she even helps bring in our trash bins). While I strive to accommodate your scheduling needs to the best of my ability, please keep in mind that creating a seamless experience for your pet may require some adjustments. Your pet's well-being and happiness are my top priorities, and I'm dedicated to going the extra mile to ensure they receive the care they deserve. I appreciate your understanding that sometimes, good things take time. Communication is essential to our partnership. While I endeavor to respond as quickly as possible, please understand that there might be moments when my hands are full of paws, toys, and laughter. A typical day
**WALKS & VISITS** In the realm of pet care, I personalize every interaction to suit your pet's individual rhythm. Engaging games, exciting trips to the park, and indoor/outdoor activities create a canvas of memorable moments. For the safety of puppies, indoor (or backpack outdoor so no paws touch the ground) adventures are preferred until their vaccines are complete. Of course, your unique requests are welcome! A few scheduling notes - Please be aware that morning outings will be with my pack! I am grateful to be able to offer group outings (4-5 dog max) to be able to assist more clients for longer periods of time. I keep these packs small so my attention stays focused & personalized. Please see the daycare adventures notes below. My afternoons are dedicated to individualized training appointments. **DAYCARE ADVENTURES (including pick up and drop off)** Imagine your pets embarking on thrilling adventures—parks, beaches, and nature spots await their eager exploration. Their social experience is carefully curated, with rest and water breaks factored in, all considering the weather's embrace and exercise needs. To make it even more convenient for pet parents, I also provide pick up and drop off services (aka pet Uber). Before our daycare adventure, I require at least 1-3 dog walks to build an individual bond. This walk also helps determine a pack fit, ensuring your pet's comfort and happiness within the group. **HOUSESITTING** Picture a day filled with sunlit walks, midday play sessions, and meals in accordance with your pet's routine. Grooming, love-infused moments, and playdates for the sociable are the essence of each day. Medications, behavioral training, and photo updates complete this captivating composition. And as a bonus, I sprinkle in some light housekeeping to make your return seamless.
