“Joyce was our pup’s first dog walker and made it such a great experience! Our dog absolutely loves her. Joyce was super kind, attentive and professional. We will definitely rebook and strongly recommend hiring her :) Thank you!!”

“Lauren was great - she came for a meet and greet, had great questions, arrived right on time, and followed all instructions! I would definitely book again.”

“Nicola has been incredible. My pup can be a bit anxious, and Nicola has been such a warm and generous presence for her. I was nervous about having someone start to walk her regularly, but Nicola clearly loves and understands dogs. She is also super professional and communicative and has made the whole experience so easy. Strongly recommend working with Nicola!”

“Will be booking again! She asked thorough questions during our meet and greet. She was easy to communicate with and reliable. Thanks for taking care of Bleu!”

“Mick walked our dog Reggie. He was very kind and took time to come over for a meet and greet before his walk date. We came home to a happy dog. Thanks Mick!!”

About: I’m at Fort Funston or Pine Lake Park or one of the many petlands nearby. I’ve been a dog friend with my own dog family for over 20 years. We talk to each other frequently I’m retired and flexible, able to provide loving care with relatively little notice. I generally go on two longer walks each day where the dogs exercise me I have a fenced back yard in the Parkside/Sunset and own our home with my spouse and Zeke, our beagle mix. It is safe and secure
“Lala cared for our dog twice / day everyday! She was very attentive, communicative and truly spoiled our dog in the best way. She made us feel comfortable being gone knowing our dog was in great hands. Would work with her again 10/10!”

“Dena and her husband are the absolute best -- so thoughtful, attentive, and communicative. They make sure to understand your dog's needs and give them individualized attention. My dog is a senior dog so she doesn't do long walks, but they made sure to give her plenty of attention and playtime! I could tell my dog had a blast and seemed so comfortable with them. Would book again anytime.”

“Tara did an excellent job walking our two golden retrievers, Bear and George! They are not the easiest dogs to walk (they pull quite a bit), but she handled them wonderfully.”
About: Hi there! I'm Charlie, and I'm passionate about providing excellent care to your four legged family members. I have been working with dogs professionally for seven years, starting as a dog handler at a doggie daycare, then moving on to teach group classes for puppy training, basic obedience, and agility at a dog training facility, then specializing in puppy socialization at a local puppy dayschool! I value the comfort and wellbeing of any creature I work with, both physical and emotional, which is why I abide by force free/fear free methods. I am well versed in dog body language, have a good understanding of the principles of dog behavior and positive reinforcement based training, as well as early puppyhood development. I'm not just a dog person though - ever since I was a kid, I always had cats! In addition to having my own pet cats, I fostered pregnant mama cats and their kittens. I hope you consider choosing me to care for your best pals! I am available for walks and drop ins with pretty flexible availability, and am more than happy to drop by to love on your pet while you're at work! I care about ensuring that your pet is comfortable, safe, and happy, which is why I use force free/fear free methods in every interaction. Your pet deserves to feel comfortable with me and have their emotional needs respected in addition to their physical needs. And of course, I want your pet to have fun when they're with me! I like to keep things playful and lighthearted on any walk or drop-in. That's the best thing about pets!

“Kristin was amazing with our dog Bella! Clear communication, regular updates with photos, and our pup comes home happy every time. Bella clearly loved her walks with Kristin and we trust her completely. Highly recommend!”

“Dione was fantastic! She's obviously well-versed in dog. We've only had Cash for two months, and he has been a bit weary of strangers. He immediately warmed up to Dione to the point where he was so excited to see her for their next walk!”

“Jesse was super flexible and took care of my baby with last minute notice! Knowing that he was getting attention and exercise from Jesse put this new dog mom at ease while being at work. Will definitely be a regular of Jesse’s clients!”

“Nick is fantastic! Our dog is currently a full blown teenager, aka we don’t always want to listen, and nick had no problem working with his quirks. Nick was more than willing to meet up before for a meet and greet, Indy instantly fell in love with Nick!”

Rachel is fantastic!! She came for a mid and greet and our pups immediately loved her, she has such a warm and calm presence and everyone felt immediately at ease! She had great communication along the way and we received the cutest pics and report from her walk, thank you Rachel!!

Lala is simply the best! My anxious/awkward guy isn’t the easiest with walks (stranger danger, loud sounds, selective liking of other dogs) and Lala is so attuned to his needs! Her progress reports have helped us in our day-to-day as well. She’s simply the best! 💛

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
