However, Beth and Jeff have an amazing house with a huge backyard and allow the dogs free range of the area. In addition they allow the dogs to choose their sleep place. It was important to me that Fatima would not be crated during her stay. Beth and Jeff sent many updates with pictures showing Fatima’s playtime and rest time and eating. They even provided her with a slow feeder when they noticed she ate too fast! Amazing care takers who clearly care about my dogs well being and health and who want to ensure your dog has the best experience while they stay with them. It is evident they love dogs, understand dog behavior, how to read dog communication, and how to help dogs feel comfortable and adjust to the environment while they stay there. I can only imagine that after several days of rain, with short potty breaks between the raindrops, the dogs in her care were going stir crazy. Despite the rough weather, we got excellent updates throughout our trip and fabulous photos to reassure us that our fur-baby was in great hands. “My son’s dog Dobby stayed with Anthony and Nikita for about 10 days, and our experience couldn’t have been any better. Both are genuinely great, sweet people who love dogs. We did a meet and greet before dropping Dobby off, which I think was very helpful and put Dobby at ease when we finally dropped him off. They were very kind and attentive to Dobby’s needs. I was concerned about Dobby staying in someone else’s house with another dog because he is a rescue and he’s kind of skittish, but Dobby and Mia got along really well. Nikita sent me daily updates and photos and that was very reassuring. I also really appreciated the fact that they took Dobby out on hikes and walks with them. That was a real plus, since Dobby is an active dog. I would highly recommend Anthony and Nikita to anyone who is looking for a pet sitter. I’ll be using them again in the future when I get a new dog!!! :)”

About: Hi everyone, I work in mental/behavioral health and am saving up for graduate school! I am very passionate about animals, especially dogs and cats. I moved to California from the Netherlands a few years ago. I am looking for new pet sitting clients in the East Bay or San Francisco. I can do overnight pet sitting as well as walks or visits during the day. I also live right by Lake Merritt so if you live nearby, I’d love to take your dog on walks around the lake. A full loop around the lake takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes (a little over 3 miles). I can pick up and drop off your dog at your house. I have several years experience in cat sitting as well as several years dog sitting and dog walking (middle-aged Labrador, middle-aged German Shepard mix, and puppy Border Collie). I will start working swing shift in a few weeks so I will be available to pet sit during the morning/early afternoon. I can do overnight pet sitting as well as walks or visits during the day. I can take care of pets at my apartment but I don’t have a backyard so I would take them outside on a leash around the neighborhood or to a park or Lake Merritt.

About: I've always loved dogs and enjoy spending time with them, whether that's going for walks, playing, or just keeping them company. I know every dog has a different personality and routine, so I take the time to make sure they're comfortable and cared for the way they're used to. I work from home three times a week which gives me more time to care for pups. This is something that allows me more flexibility with care needs. I do not have any other pets in the home which allows your pet to have all my attention, therefore meeting whatever need they may have.

We needed someone to watch him for a few hours over three consecutive days while we had construction happening at our house and my husband and I had unusual work schedules, and they were incredibly flexible and accommodating throughout the whole thing. Poe clearly had the best time staying with them: playing in their backyard, going on walks, and spending time with their family and kids. We have a baby on the way, so it was especially nice knowing he was getting some positive time around younger kids, and Lisa and Cameron said he did great with them. They also sent us adorable photos and videos every day, which we loved. Poe came home happy, tired, and ready for a very good sleep after getting so much attention and exercise! About: I had a dog for 15 years and while we are holding out on getting a new one for a few years till we stop traveling so much, we would love to hang with yours periodically when in town! We have a fenced in yard to throw a ball in (and a six and nine year old who never tire in doing so) and love taking walks to all the local Piedmont parks with a pup. My husband is mildly allergic, so unfortunately only able to take in non shedding, hypoallergenic poodle type mixes. And of course dogs need to be kid friendly, but my kiddoes are very sweet and gentle with dogs and will give the dogs lots of pets and affection in return. My husband and I both predominately work from home so there's always someone around to love on a furry friend or take a break to get outside for a walk. I predominately work from home and I love frequent walks with a pup. We live close to many Piedmont parks which is a great place to go and visit other dogs or just explore some new grounds. I have a fenced yard and loving older gentle children who adore pets. I can crate your dog if desired to sleep, but also have kids that would be very happy to snuggle if preferred. You can trust that we will care for your pups as if they are our very own family dog for the duration of their stay.

I'm trained in insulin injections and skilled at applying ear drops, administering pills, and other basic daily medicinal needs. “Ruthy is a fantastic find! This was our first time using Rover.com and we really lucked out in finding someone as knowledgeable, responsible, and passionate about dogs as Ruthy. Our dog is a newly adopted large-breed dog with a lot of energy as well as separation anxiety. There are not a lot of sitters that would be able to handle our guy! From the moment we met Ruthy at the meet-and-greet we could tell that she took her job very seriously and knew how to be a responsible dog owner and caretaker. We've used Ruthy once for doggy daycare and once for boarding, and we are going to keep using her again because we could not imagine there being anyone better to care for our pup. We also loved all the pictures and videos of our dog enjoying his stay while we were out of town (it actually made us worry that he had forgotten about us)! We would highly recommend Ruthy to anyone who wants to leave their dog with someone who not only knows how to handle dogs, but who truly cares about them.”

However, Beth and Jeff have an amazing house with a huge backyard and allow the dogs free range of the area. In addition they allow the dogs to choose their sleep place. It was important to me that Fatima would not be crated during her stay. Beth and Jeff sent many updates with pictures showing Fatima’s playtime and rest time and eating. They even provided her with a slow feeder when they noticed she ate too fast! Amazing care takers who clearly care about my dogs well being and health and who want to ensure your dog has the best experience while they stay with them. It is evident they love dogs, understand dog behavior, how to read dog communication, and how to help dogs feel comfortable and adjust to the environment while they stay there. About: I offer a quieter, more individualized kind of dog sitting. I only take dogs from one household at a time, so your dog won’t be sharing the space with a rotating group of other dogs. That allows me to give them a lot of individual attention and to keep their routine as familiar as possible. I’m a licensed acupuncturist and a therapist in training, so being reliable and observant is a big part of my professional life. I’m also very conscientious about following your instructions closely. I know how much the little details matter, and I make a point of keeping track of feeding schedules, medications, walks, sleeping arrangements, and the routines that help your dog feel at home. I have firsthand experience caring for an anxious dog who later developed dementia and physical limitations. Because of that, I’m especially comfortable with senior dogs and dogs who are sensitive or easily overwhelmed. I understand how much patience and consistency can matter when a dog needs extra support. I’m especially available on weekends, when I can spend plenty of time with your dog rather than fitting visits around a packed schedule. Depending on their personality and energy level, we might have a quiet day at home, take neighborhood walks, or head out to places like Piedmont Park, the Albany Bulb, or the beach. I want your dog to feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away, and I want you to feel completely confident that someone is really paying attention to them. Pet care fits best into my schedule on weekends, when I have plenty of time to give dogs attention, walks, companionship, and a relaxed home environment. I’m generally available from Friday evening through Sunday and can often accommodate weekend boarding or daytime care. During the week I work a regular professional schedule, so I’m intentional about only accepting bookings when I know I can provide the time and attention a pet needs. When a dog is staying with me, I want them to be part of my routine rather than squeezed into it. I take safety and trust seriously and make a point of following each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. In my home, I provide a calm, comfortable environment and make sure dogs have appropriate supervision, regular walks and potty breaks, fresh water, and plenty of attention. I’m careful about feeding instructions, medications, leash safety, and any behavioral or health concerns you share with me. I also like to know about a dog’s personality, triggers, routines, and preferences ahead of time so I can help them feel comfortable and settled. If I’m caring for a pet in your home, I’m respectful of your space and follow your instructions closely. I’m also happy to send updates and photos so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away.
