About: I’ve been taking care of animals for 20+ years. I grew up with a cat and 2 dogs, rode horses, volunteered at animal shelters, and we currently have 2 tuxedo kitties. I have been volunteering with local animals shelters for the past 10+ years; mainly dogs, cats, and small animals. I usually opt to support pet care (feeding, kennel cleaning, walks) and recently I have been supporting surgeries (spays, neuter, etc). From all of my experiences, I’ve found that patience, respect, and kindess are the pillars to good interactions with animals. The most important thing to me will always be the well-being of your pet. Happy to help out fellow pet parents through Rover! Cheers, Marissa I’m currently between jobs (biotech in the bay) and am happy to add some structure to my days with pet care. I’m available weekdays for visits, walks, and care. Not able to do boarding or home sits at this time. I will respect your space as if it was my own; no shoes in the house, leave things cleaner than you found it, pet-safety conscientious (ex food risks). When visiting your pets they’ll have my undivided attention and you have my promise to thoroughly review any instructions; big or small.
“Our cat has some special medication needs, and I was nervous to leave her with a new person. Angie handled it all super well; she even found us a better way to prepare the medication! Our cat was very content when we came back home, which is a rare vote of confidence. I highly recommend Angie.”

I'm a biotechnology entrepreneur so I can work from everywhere and at any time :). I'm very flexible to adapt to your schedule and what your pet need. All my life I was living with my own pets, they are part of the family but with the most beautiful heart <3. I treat them as beautiful kids and best friends.
“Amie did a great job taking care of our 2 cats. She is reliable and highly responsive. My cats felt at ease with her. I will definitely book her again whenever we need cat care!”

“Spencer took great care of our two cats. He was communicative and proactive, and he paid attention to how the heat could be affecting our cats. Thank you for all your help, Spencer!”

About: Taking care of dogs started for me with my wonderful and energetic Airedale in my teens and twenties, and continues as a dedicated uncle to my sister’s 4 dogs (yes 4!). I am the guy my friends consistently ask to pet sit when they leave town. I also take pride in leaving your house as nice as when arrived. For long stays or short, I’m happy to help. I am currently working part time nearby and I am not planning holiday travel, so I’ll have plenty of time for quality visits with your dogs! Your pets and your home environment are important to you. I will exercise the utmost care with both and make sure you feel comfortable entrusting me with either or both.

About: I love spending time with animals and treat every pet like they're part of my own family. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, so I take the time to make them feel comfortable, happy, and cared for while you're away. Whether it's walks, playtime, cuddles, or just keeping them company, I'll make sure they get plenty of attention and love. My goal is for you to feel confident knowing your pet is safe, happy, and in good hands. I have had dogs and cats my entire life. I can administer oral and subcutaneous medications. I am happy to provide references from former Gilead and Genentech colleagues as well as neighbors. My best friend’s brother is a police detective who knows me well. I graduated with a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, then went on and completed my MBA at Cornell University. I stopped working recently, so I have plenty of time to devote and dedicate to pet sitting. I am available mornings, afternoons and nights, depending on what you and your pet’s schedule requires. Please note I do not offer boarding or pet care services in my own home. I have 2 cats who need to be the only animals in the house.
About: Pets are humanizing. They remind us of our obligation and responsibility to preserve and care for all life - James Cromwell As a child I spent summers on a farm and have always been connected to nature & animals. My first pet was a chicken at 7yrs old and had cats my whole life, even throughout college! My first dog was a female Shelted Sheepdogs (sheltie) then we got her a brother a year later. What fun sweet memories and joy having them growing up. Humans can learn a lot from our pets, their unconditional love & playfulness. Caring for animals is a privilege. Similar to raising children (I have two teens) and requires lots of awareness, love, patience, attention to detail, and kindness. Safety is always priority number one I work an office job from 8a-5p during the week and am available for pet care after hours, early mornings, and on the weekends. If a client is near my office or home I’m able to visit sooner. I live in a nice neighborhood near a great park and walking trails. My home is safe, organized, clean with fenced yard and two pets (dog & cat) to keep your fur baby company. If your pet is crate-trained I can support that too.
“Cecilia is WONDERFUL!!! Extremely attentive and thoughtful when it came to watching our dog Marco while we were on vacation. Absolutely recommend her!!!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - San Mateo
Jasmeen was fantastic watching our cats during our extended trip. Since we’ve used her before, we already knew they’d be in great hands, and she went out of her way to accommodate our schedule. She is truly one of the best sitters on Rover, we couldn’t recommend her more!

I felt very comfortable and reassured knowing that my two cats were being taken care of by Yamzel. I really appreciated how she went above and beyond to check in with me about any specific accommodations they needed and to clarify any instructions. She also provides so many check-in photos, which are wonderful to receive while you’re away on vacation and really give you peace of mind! I’ve booked her twice so far and will gladly continue using her in the future. Highly recommend Yamzel!

Jo-Anne took excellent care of our guinea pig, dependably coming over daily during our long time away. She was kind and caring to our piggie, even going above and beyond to bring over extra homemade toys and looking up ways to enrich our piggie’s day. It was such a comfort to know that Jo-Anne was there every day, and we really appreciate her diligent care of our little one. Thank you so much, Jo-Anne!

Rachel was fantastic! We were gone for a little over a week and needed someone to take care of our two energetic cats. Rachel was extremely communicative, helped us out in a pinch a few times, played with the cats, and always gave us a nice report after she visited. We genuinely enjoyed our travels knowing that Rachel was taking care of and giving love to our pets. We highly recommend!

This was my second time booking with Jennifer. She clearly loves cats and has such a wonderful understanding with my shy cat Charlie. She's also just the nicest person and was a lifesaver for me this trip -- she went out of her way to be available on days she wasn't originally scheduled as available, including a last minute addition after her last scheduled visit, when my return flight was massively delayed.

Aik went above and beyond when I had a time sensitive package unexpectedly delivered while I was out of town. Aik went back to the house 2 extra times to be sure it was put inside without me even asking... I was SO appreciative as it allowed us to enjoy our time away without stressing or having to track down someone else to put it in!

Milena was fantastic! Not only did she kindly step in to help at the last second when another sitter had to cancel for an emergency, but she was great with my cats. Even my shy cat was willing to come out for her, which says a lot! Additionally I received frequent updates and excellent communication. Highly recommend

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
