About: I've taken care of dogs since I was little. I've cared for my own throughout the years as well as walked, house sat, and cared for many others' dogs! My work schedule is different every week but I get mine typically a month ahead of time and can plan accordingly. I'm open to scheduling same day or ahead of time if time allows. As long as care instructions are provided, I will happily follow what is needed for your pet. I believe communication and safety is most important!
“Annie did a great job taking care of our cats. We really appreciated how she played with them for a long time to keep them company while we were away. We’ll definitely book her again!”

“Cheng was so great! Our cats warmed up to him immediately! We got photos and videos every day, so we had nothing to worry about during our trip! Super responsive and cannot recommend enough!”

“So thankful to have been able to rebook Natalie to watch our two cats! She’s always giving us updates on her visits and takes wonderful care to give them extra play time. We trust Natalie for any future cat watching needs!”

About: Dogs have always been a large part of my life, whether the pups were my own, my roommate’s, or my friends’. Currently, I don't have any fur babies of my own and this is the longest I've lived without one in my life, so I’m hoping that caring for your fur babies will help tide me over until I'm able to get one of my own! I have a lot of love and attention I’d love to shower your fur baby with, but I also have a lot of patience and persistence for those who need a more determined approach. I have experience working with big and small breeds and younger and senior mutts, as well as Boxers, Pit Bulls, Great Danes, Labradors, German Shepherds, and Golden Retrievers. For the past year I’ve been volunteering with the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA for the past year, working specifically with reactive and fearful dogs. Prior to that I’ve volunteered at shelters all over the world. I’ve lived in a few different countries and within the US I’ve lived in Boston, Washington D.C., Florida, and now the Bay Area! I speak English and Hindi fluently, and am conversant in Spanish, French, and Arabic. I’m happy to learn how to say commands and sweet nothings in any language that your fur baby prefers. I have a BA in Biological Anthropology from Boston University and a Master’s in Public Health from George Washington University. I’m currently unemployed and looking for work in health care - but this just means my schedule is that much more open and flexible. I look forward to loving and caring for your pup while their favorite person is away. I’m currently unemployed and looking for work in health care - but this just means my schedule is that much more open and flexible. I'm happy to work on the schedule that works best for you. When caring for your pet in your own I am respectful, considerate, and clean. I understand that sharing your space with another person requires a lot of faith and understanding, and I endeavor to make sure we are both comfortable with the arrangement. I hold transparency and trust in very high regard! Along-side caring for your pet I'm happy to water plants or take care of any other living thing that might also need attention!

About: We are a couple who genuinely love animals and enjoy caring for them together. Mike grew up with a Golden Retriever named Lady and understands how to handle and care for dogs with patience and love. Lady spent her happy senior years together with our family, which gave us a lot of experience caring for an aging dog as well. Evie grew up with a Shih Tzu named Mashiro and was deeply involved in her care. Living with Mashiro taught them how sensitive and loving dogs are, and how important it is to provide gentle attention, patience, and a calm environment. We have already been caring for pets for some time and have built relationships with several private clients outside of Rover. Recently, we decided to join Rover to meet more wonderful pets and families in the community. We are always happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away. We also enjoy being active, so dogs with lots of energy are absolutely welcome. Long walks, playtime, and exercise are no problem for us. We have a bicycle, which can be great for very active dogs that enjoy running. We treat every pet as if they were our own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. We have a flexible schedule and are able to spend plenty of time caring for pets throughout the day. Evie is usually at home, which allows us to give pets consistent attention, walks, and playtime. We are available for boarding on weekdays and weekends and are happy to accommodate your pet’s normal routine as much as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. We provide a calm, clean, and safe environment where pets can relax and feel at home. We always pay close attention to each pet’s personality and needs, and we follow the owner’s instructions carefully regarding feeding, walks, and routines. We are also happy to send regular photo and video updates so you can feel reassured while you’re away.
“We came home to happy cats after having Elizabeth do some drop-in visits with our furry guys. They are very shy but she got them to come out a little and posted photos for us to see.”

About: I have been caring for animals for as long as I can remember! I’ve had dogs since I was 8 years old and have experience caring for a variety of breeds, personalities, and ages. Whether it’s an energetic puppy or a senior dog who needs a little extra patience and attention, I am committed to providing the best care possible and adapting to each pet’s unique needs. When I care for your dog, they will receive plenty of love, attention, and affection. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. I am patient, attentive, and truly enjoy building bonds with the animals I care for. I also have a fur baby of my own, a Golden Retriever, who is full of love, energy, and personality! I am currently home full-time and available for drop-in visits, walks, boarding, and house sitting when needed. I have a flexible schedule, communicate quickly, and am happy to accommodate last-minute bookings. I would love the opportunity to care for your furry family member and give them all the love and attention they deserve! I just graduated from San José State University, so I have lots of free time and flexibility to give your pups all the love and care they deserve! In both my home and clients’ homes, I make sure pets stay on their normal routines as much as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions. I’m very attentive, patient, and organized, and I always make sure pets feel relaxed, safe, and cared for like they’re my own.
“Yiqing did a good job taking care of my cat for two weeks! My cat usually “complains” when I am back but this time she was ok, so I am sure Yiqing gave her proper attention and they liked each other. Definitely recommend Yiqing and will use her again!”

“Mario took great care of our dogs- when we were on vacation. We appreciate the communication and photos. We will definitely ask him to help out in the future.”

“Chloe took great care of our cat Eleven while we were away. She was very kind, cleaned up eleven‘s vomit, and spent time playing with him to keep him happy. We really appreciated her help and would definitely recommend her to others!”

About: I care for yours as if they are my own. I just lost my 16 year old and miss her immensely. You won’t have to worry when they’re with me. I’ll send pictures, videos and make sure they are comfy and happy. I’m familiar with allergies, medicine schedules and application. I am attentive and make sure my furbabies are safe. During the week I work from 8am-3pm and come home for lunch. During the summers I am off. Typical weekend for me when I had a dog, wake up, take her out to pee, breakfast, a 20-30 minute walk around the neighborhood. Back home to read a book with her on the couch with me or out and about, she would be in the car in her car seat with me doing errands or visiting my family. Feed her and I lunch, walk again. Go home, relax. Play fetch. Snuggle. Dinner. Walk again. Watch a show and relax. Walk again and then settle down for sleep. Same thing during. The work day but I am gone during the day for a few hours. Still plenty of walks and love. My home is a dog home, meaning, dogs are family to me and can be on the furniture. I am fragrance free so I ask your dog not have sprays or essential oils. If I am to house sit, it would have to be fragrance free. Your animals will also have to have flea and tick protection. I am good at keeping to a schedule and I have trained all my dogs. Cooked for all of them too. Please feel free to ask me anything
“We had an amazing experience with Xiangling! From the very beginning, communication was clear and reassuring. Bella was shy at first, but she was patient, gentle, and clearly understand cats. Bella felt safe to interact with her at subsequent visits. We came home to a relaxed, happy cat and a clean space, which says everything. With a lot of photos and updates, she gave us real peace of mind while we were away, and we would absolutely book again and highly recommend her to any pet parents!”

“Rachel was AMAZING! We couldn't have asked for better care of our 2 bunnies. She sent great photos/updates and had amazing communication. She gave us "peace of mind" while away. I highly recommend her!!”

“Irina is very lovely lady and caring our cat so much! She followed all instructions, and visited our cat timely. She even stayed longer than our original booking window to spend time and play with Capy. Took a lot photos and video to make sure we feel comfortable during our leave. Our cat is a shy boy, usually hide from strangers but not to Irina. He even showed his belly with trust to her, that says something! We will not hesitate to work with Irina when necessary for next time, thank you so much!🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my entire life and have cared for all kinds of pets since I was a kid—cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, and more. Being around animals feels natural to me, and I’m very attentive to their different personalities and needs. This experience makes me especially patient with senior pets and gentle with puppies, and I always aim to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I work fully remote, so during weekdays I have a flexible schedule throughout the day and can easily adjust my time for walks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins. This flexibility allows me to give pets consistent attention rather than rushing visits, and to adapt to each pet’s routine and needs. I provide attentive, personalized care whether pets stay in my home or I care for them in yours. My home offers a calm, clean environment with a fully fenced yard for supervised play and potty breaks. I have a friendly Shiba Inu, and I’m always careful with slow, respectful introductions to ensure everyone is a good fit. I also care for turtles, a crested gecko, and fish at home, so I understand how important a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment is for all pets. In a client’s home, I follow routines closely and keep pets comfortable in their familiar space, with regular updates for peace of mind.

This is our second time having Bo as our cat sitter. She always does a thorough job and we can rest assured our cats are taken care of! The best part is that she shares plenty of photos that shows our cats doing well. She is very quick at responding and goes above and beyond our requests. We would absolutely have her catsit any time and every time!

Thank you so much! Heleen was great. Provided many pictures of the kitties, and left a detailed and thorough review. After only meeting my cats once before, she already seems to have a good understanding of their personalities and they’re already trusting of her (purring, meowing, and running up to her when she arrives!). We will definitely book Heleen again if we need cat care.

Xiangling took wonderful care of our cat. She is incredibly patient, caring, and attentive to his needs. Qiuqiu quickly became comfortable with her. Every day, she follows the instructions and do the routines, also send us lots of photos and videos, along with thoughtful updates about how Qiuqiu was doing. Seeing him so relaxed and happy gave us huge peace of mind. Qiuqiu sometimes pees on the sofa so we always put pad on our sofa. She adjusted the shape and placement of the pad to help prevent accidents. It wasn’t something we specifically asked her to do—it was simply her paying close attention to his habits and finding a thoughtful solution. That level of care really stood out to us. We came home to a happy, relaxed cat, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. I highly recommend Xiangling to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive cat sitter. We will definitely book with her again!

Chloe took wonderful care of my cats while I was away. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about their well-being. I received regular updates and photos. Both cats looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for when I returned home. I would definitely book with Chloe again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!

Xilin and Xiang were truly exceptional pet sitters. They took wonderful care of my senior cats and gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. They were attentive, responsible, and very communicative throughout the entire stay, with regular updates that made it clear my cats were in caring hands.

Milena is a natural when it comes to taking care of cats! She’s excellent at reading cat body language and is very patient and gentle. My cat, Pebble, takes medication and she can be difficult to medicate. Milena is extremely patient with her and always makes sure she gets her meds. I highly recommend her!

Irina is very lovely lady and caring our cat so much! We will not hesitate to work with Irina when necessary for next time, thank you so much!🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
