“Bo took the absolute best care of my cat Morty! It's uncommon that he will warm up to people so quickly, so I knew it was a great sign when he came out of his shell after the first day. Bo was extremely attentive and communicative about her visits with Morty. I also really appreciated the updates and photos she sent!”

About: For the past two years, I have had the rewarding experience of caring for an anxious dog. This journey has taught me the importance of patience, understanding, and consistency in pet care. I approach each interaction with care and respect, recognizing the unique needs and personalities of each pet. By creating a calm and supportive environment, I have helped my dog feel more secure and confident. This experience has deepened my commitment to providing gentle and compassionate care to all pets, ensuring they feel safe and loved. My schedule is open, allowing me to provide daily walks, healthy treats, and lots of pets, ensuring your pet receives the best care at any time. I can't take pets into my home, but I'm available to stop by and provide walks, healthy treats, and lots of pets in your home.

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was little. I've cared for my own throughout the years as well as walked, house sat, and cared for many others' dogs! My work schedule is different every week but I get mine typically a month ahead of time and can plan accordingly. I'm open to scheduling same day or ahead of time if time allows. As long as care instructions are provided, I will happily follow what is needed for your pet. I believe communication and safety is most important!
“Annie is very professional, even my shame baby Hyena like to play with her. She sent a whole pile of photos and leave detailed notes about the things she has done. She also care about our room, keep the room clean and tidy. Will definitely rebook with her!”

“Cheng is THE BEST pet sitter ever. He is responsible, reliable, responsive and friendly -- and he went to extraordinary measures to help find my cat while I was out of town. (He was not responsible for her disappearance!) Natasha would not have been recovered without his patience and assistance and kindness. If I could give him 6 stars, I would!”

“Chloe took great care of our cats while we were out of town! She sent lots of pictures/updates and took such good care of our little guys. We would love to use her again in the future!”

“I was very pleased with the care Natalie provided for our cat while I was away. She was reliable, responsible, and clearly cares about animals. Natalie kept me updated on how our cat was doing, and I appreciated the peace of mind that came with knowing she was in good hands. Our cat seemed happy and content when I returned, and I would definitely recommend Natalie to others looking for a trustworthy pet sitter for their feline friends. She did a great job!”

“Michaela was great with our dog Grizzly, who can be a handful at times. She was very patient with him, even when he was nervous because we were away. Very responsive and communication was easy!”

About: We are a couple who genuinely love animals and enjoy caring for them together. Mike grew up with a Golden Retriever named Lady and understands how to handle and care for dogs with patience and love. Lady spent her happy senior years together with our family, which gave us a lot of experience caring for an aging dog as well. Evie grew up with a Shih Tzu named Mashiro and was deeply involved in her care. Living with Mashiro taught them how sensitive and loving dogs are, and how important it is to provide gentle attention, patience, and a calm environment. We have already been caring for pets for some time and have built relationships with several private clients outside of Rover. Recently, we decided to join Rover to meet more wonderful pets and families in the community. We are always happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away. We also enjoy being active, so dogs with lots of energy are absolutely welcome. Long walks, playtime, and exercise are no problem for us. We have a bicycle, which can be great for very active dogs that enjoy running. We treat every pet as if they were our own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. We have a flexible schedule and are able to spend plenty of time caring for pets throughout the day. Evie is usually at home, which allows us to give pets consistent attention, walks, and playtime. We are available for boarding on weekdays and weekends and are happy to accommodate your pet’s normal routine as much as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. We provide a calm, clean, and safe environment where pets can relax and feel at home. We always pay close attention to each pet’s personality and needs, and we follow the owner’s instructions carefully regarding feeding, walks, and routines. We are also happy to send regular photo and video updates so you can feel reassured while you’re away.

About: Dogs have always been a large part of my life, whether the pups were my own, my roommate’s, or my friends’. Currently, I don't have any fur babies of my own and this is the longest I've lived without one in my life, so I’m hoping that caring for your fur babies will help tide me over until I'm able to get one of my own! I have a lot of love and attention I’d love to shower your fur baby with, but I also have a lot of patience and persistence for those who need a more determined approach. I have experience working with big and small breeds and younger and senior mutts, as well as Boxers, Pit Bulls, Great Danes, Labradors, German Shepherds, and Golden Retrievers. For the past year I’ve been volunteering with the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA for the past year, working specifically with reactive and fearful dogs. Prior to that I’ve volunteered at shelters all over the world. I’ve lived in a few different countries and within the US I’ve lived in Boston, Washington D.C., Florida, and now the Bay Area! I speak English and Hindi fluently, and am conversant in Spanish, French, and Arabic. I’m happy to learn how to say commands and sweet nothings in any language that your fur baby prefers. I have a BA in Biological Anthropology from Boston University and a Master’s in Public Health from George Washington University. I’m currently unemployed and looking for work in health care - but this just means my schedule is that much more open and flexible. I look forward to loving and caring for your pup while their favorite person is away. I’m currently unemployed and looking for work in health care - but this just means my schedule is that much more open and flexible. I'm happy to work on the schedule that works best for you. When caring for your pet in your own I am respectful, considerate, and clean. I understand that sharing your space with another person requires a lot of faith and understanding, and I endeavor to make sure we are both comfortable with the arrangement. I hold transparency and trust in very high regard! Along-side caring for your pet I'm happy to water plants or take care of any other living thing that might also need attention!

“We came home to happy cats after having Elizabeth do some drop-in visits with our furry guys. They are very shy but she got them to come out a little and posted photos for us to see.”

“Mario took great care of our dogs- when we were on vacation. We appreciate the communication and photos. We will definitely ask him to help out in the future.”

“Yiqing is super sweet and takes good care of our cat during our vacation. She sent good notes and described in detail on how our cat behaved. Our cat loves her and gets very closed to her during her visits.”

About: I've been around animals almost my whole life. I volunteered at an animal shelter in high school, have had cats of my own since 2013, pet sat cats and dogs for friends and family, and have had experience raising kittens as well as experience in TNR. Currently available all day and can be available for evenings and/or overnights if needed. Happy to spend time with your pet when you're not able to so they have company until you return home! As a life long animal lover, I understand pets are more than just an animal, but they're part of the family. I take time to get to know each pet and will do all I can to ensure that they are always safe in my care, whether during a walk or pet sitting in your home.
“Irina is very lovely lady and caring our cat so much! She followed all instructions, and visited our cat timely. She even stayed longer than our original booking window to spend time and play with Capy. Took a lot photos and video to make sure we feel comfortable during our leave. Our cat is a shy boy, usually hide from strangers but not to Irina. He even showed his belly with trust to her, that says something! We will not hesitate to work with Irina when necessary for next time, thank you so much!🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️”

“We had an amazing experience with Xiangling! From the very beginning, communication was clear and reassuring. Bella was shy at first, but she was patient, gentle, and clearly understand cats. Bella felt safe to interact with her at subsequent visits. We came home to a relaxed, happy cat and a clean space, which says everything. With a lot of photos and updates, she gave us real peace of mind while we were away, and we would absolutely book again and highly recommend her to any pet parents!”

Deborah goes above and beyond to care for my pup Lyla! She even made time to come over and meet my dog prior to our first walk - which was booked last minute due to unexpected schedule changes - to make sure Lyla felt safe and comfortable with her. I really appreciate her flexibility in scheduling and I’m so glad I have peace of mind when leaving Lyla in her care. Thank you!

This is our second time having Bo as our cat sitter. She always does a thorough job and we can rest assured our cats are taken care of! The best part is that she shares plenty of photos that shows our cats doing well. She is very quick at responding and goes above and beyond our requests. We would absolutely have her catsit any time and every time!

Xiangling took wonderful care of our cat. She is incredibly patient, caring, and attentive to his needs. Qiuqiu quickly became comfortable with her. Every day, she follows the instructions and do the routines, also send us lots of photos and videos, along with thoughtful updates about how Qiuqiu was doing. Seeing him so relaxed and happy gave us huge peace of mind. Qiuqiu sometimes pees on the sofa so we always put pad on our sofa. She adjusted the shape and placement of the pad to help prevent accidents. It wasn’t something we specifically asked her to do—it was simply her paying close attention to his habits and finding a thoughtful solution. That level of care really stood out to us. We came home to a happy, relaxed cat, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. I highly recommend Xiangling to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive cat sitter. We will definitely book with her again!

Chloe took wonderful care of my cats while I was away. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about their well-being. I received regular updates and photos. Both cats looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for when I returned home. I would definitely book with Chloe again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
