“Michele was great at taking care of my older cat. She communicated very well, made sure he was fed properly, and took care of everything else that was needed. I would definitely try to book Michele again!”

About: As a fellow dog parent, I know just how important it is to find someone who'll love your pup like their own. I've learned so much from having my Cavapoo over the past 5 years - including navigating separation anxiety and training challenges with help from the awesome folks at Cali K9 and Zoom Room. All these experiences have made me a patient, understanding caregiver who knows every dog is uniquely special. Your furry friend will have a blast joining us for adventures in our local parks and trails, where we keep tails wagging with plenty of fun and positive reinforcement. I've had the joy of caring for many pups with different personalities, and I always make sure each one feels safe, happy, and right at home with us. Let's give your dog the loving attention they deserve! I'm thrilled to share what a typical day would look like for your pup! I've marked my calendar to show the days I'm home and fully available to focus on caring for your dog. Since I work from home on these days, I'm here to give your furry friend lots of attention and care. We follow a fun routine that includes at least three energetic walks daily, plus plenty of playtime with our collection of toys to keep everyone happy and engaged! I do pop out briefly for my gym sessions, but I'll always keep you in the loop about my schedule. Your dog will never feel lonely - they'll be right by my side throughout the day, getting all the love and attention they deserve! I maintain a clean, pet-proofed apartment where your furry friend can relax without any worries. For bedtime, I have a dedicated crate in the study where my dog sleeps, and I have an extra crate available if your pup is crate-trained - though they're also welcome to find their comfy spot anywhere in the apartment! Safety is my top priority, so I take extra precautions like always keeping doors securely locked and making sure the apartment is tidy and free of anything that could be harmful. When we head out for walks in our quiet, safe neighborhood, your pup will always be properly leashed, and I even use special light-up collars for our evening strolls. You can rest easy knowing your dog is in a secure, peaceful environment with someone who takes their safety seriously

“Nina and Leo are the perfect pet sitters ever ! They took great care of our cat Pepper while we were away. They sent me photos every day and they really tried to adapt to our schedule for the dropping on and off of our keys ! They were extremely caring and attentive to our cats needs ! I will recommend them 100% and will rebook them again ! Thank you for taking care of Pepper !”

“I was very impressed with G.'s visits. My cat is very skittish but when I returned from my trip, she was calm so I think G. did nothing to cause anxiety. In addition, in one of her daily reports, G. pointed out something about the cat's feeding habits. I was aware of this but felt that it was very responsible of G. to notice it after just a couple of days and bring it to my attention. I will be calling G. the next time I have a trip planned. Thank you G. for being so conscientious.”
About: I'm an experienced dog owner with over 15 years of dog care experience. I have three dogs of my own and fostered 36 dogs throughout my childhood, giving me familiarity with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and needs. While I've been away at college, I've really missed spending time with my dogs and would love the opportunity to walk and care for yours! I am very available this summer for either regularly scheduled or one-off visits. I will be in the area and able to take care of your pets until late September. I am very attentive to detail and will be sure to follow all instructions. I can be easily reached by phone and will stay in regular contact as needed. I have experience working with anxious dogs (both my own and others I've cared for), and I am comfortable walking dogs who may not be friendly to other dogs. I cannot watch dogs at my house, but I am comfortable stopping by your home for visits.
“Julia was great! She went above and beyond for our cats. She went above the call of duty and really made sure our cats were well cared for. We very much appreciated all that she did for us and our little ones. We would definitely hire her again!”

About: Hi! I’m a psychology undergraduate and lifelong dog lover who grew up with dogs and a playful tuxedo cat. When caring for dogs, I use calm, positive-reinforcement strategies from my psychology studies for a stress-free experience as the dog gets to know me. I have lots of experience with senior dogs and am ready to give them the extra support they need. I'm currently a student at the University of San Francisco who has their heaviest day on Mondays. Every other day, I am much more flexible and have fewer classes and more time to care for animals! I follow your pet’s usual routine, provide feeding, walks, or playtime, and make sure they feel comfortable and well cared for in their own home.
“Nora was amazing! Prompt communicator, very trustworthy, kind, and has such a great energy for dogs. I have never left my dogs with anyone because I’m so nervous to, but after having Nora watch my pups this week I would trust her a thousand times to watch them again. Definitely go with Nora if you’re looking for an amazing human to watch your dog babies!!!”

“Vivian is very responsive and took good care of out cats when we are away. She also took a lot of good pictures for our cats in the notes. I will strongly recommend Vivian to all nearby pet owners :)”

About: I’ve always been around dogs and have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. I also have experience caring for a dog with seizures, which taught me to stay calm, attentive, and responsive to a pet’s needs. I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. 🐾❤️ I’m currently on a flexible summer schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care and their needs. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. In a client’s home, I’ll make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages. I always treat both pets and homes with care and respect. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free experience while you’re away. 🐾❤️
“Julia Mae took great loving care of Dexter. Thorough updates and lots of picks to make this momma feel like her baby was being well taken care of. And to find a sitter on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day who sacrificed their time was a true gift. Thank you - Christine and Dexter”

“Ella was very patient and kind with Bunny...which is no easy feat with my dog's abandonment and fear-aggression issues! But Ella stood her ground and made sure that Bunny received nutrition, companionship and the chance to relieve herself. Well done, Ella! And I really appreciate your communicating with me using photos and texts!”

About: I've been caring for pets for several years, beginning with my family's two cats and later helping care for a neighbor's cat. Since then, I've had the opportunity to care for both cats and dogs through repeat house-sitting and drop-in visits. My experience includes caring for multiple cats on several occasions, house sitting for three dachshunds while maintaining their feeding schedule and providing medication for one with back issues, and caring for dogs of different sizes, including pit bull's and a medium-sized mixed-breed dog. I take pride in keeping pets on their normal routine and providing a calm, comfortable environment while their owners are away. My goal is to make both you and your pet feel at ease, knowing they'll receive dependable and attentive care. My schedule is currently very flexible as I work at a yoga studio, this allows me to accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits. Whether you need regular drop-in care or overnight house sitting, I'm committed to providing reliable, attentive care while maintaining your pet's normal routine. I'll do my best to work around your schedule and am happy to accommodate last-minute bookings whenever possible. Your pet's comfort, safety, and happiness are always my top priorities - every step (or paw print) of the way! Your pet's health and comfortability is my top priority! I strive to keep the environment and schedule for your beloved pets the same as if you were home. I follow medication schedules, feeding schedules, and all your desires and needs to keep your fur-baby happy and healthy.
“I was nervous about finding a new person to watch out pets during travel, but I’m so glad I found Octavia! We came home to happy, relaxed pets and a clean place - I will definitely ask Octavia to take care is the fur fam again.”
“Thien-Nha is absolutely wonderful and I’m so lucky to have found her. She’s reliable, responsive, and incredibly kind. Even my super shy kitty came out of hiding to say hello when Thien-Nha came over. I feel she really goes above and beyond for our pets and that is simply invaluable. Will definitely hire her again for our next trip.”

About: We’ve fostered around 20 pups and volunteered at a senior center with our pup, bringing comfort and joy to others. These experiences shaped our calm, patient, and loving approach to every dog we care for, with 20+ repeat clients. We both work remotely from home, which means your dog will have constant supervision, companionship, and attention throughout the day. Dogs in care are never left alone for long periods and settle into a relaxed, home style, cozy routine. We focus on providing a calm, peaceful environment. Dogs are treated like family, enjoying neighborhood walks, playtime, naps, and quiet time. Only accepting calm, well mannered dogs who are comfortable sharing space and not prone to resource guarding, which helps maintain a safe and stress free home. The home is set up for comfort and calm, providing extra dog beds in multiple areas, cozy resting spots, and a variety of toys and enrichment items to keep dogs comfortable and engaged. Our home is clean, calm, and well supervised, and the dogs are never left unattended. We follow each pet’s routine closely and introduce dogs thoughtfully to maintain a peaceful environment. We take dogs out for frequent potty breaks and daily walks, always with safety in mind. Crate if requested, but most dogs relax freely indoors with cozy spaces to rest. To help you feel confident and connected, we provide daily photo and video updates, and we're always happy to send additional photos, videos, or text updates on demand. You’ll never have to wonder how your pet is doing. We also recommend a meet & greet prior to boarding to ensure we’re a great fit and that your dog feels comfortable in our home.
About: I would love to take care of your dog or cat! I am a foster parent with the Peninsula Humane Society/SPCA who was recently laid off from a tech job, so I now have time to spend loving and caring for animals. I grew up with a dog (a Golden Retriever) and two cats. As an adult, I had a cat for 17 years who required daily shots, so I am comfortable and used to giving injections and pills. I recently adopted one of my foster kittens, who is very friendly and wants to play with all animals. I was featured in the Huffington Post for my foster work. Rover won't let me post the link, but I am happy to send it to you ask. I was recently laid off from a tech job, so I am available full time to care for your animal while I look for another job. I have a fenced yard that a dog could run around in. I have a 1 year old cat who loves cats and dogs and would love to play with yours, or I can keep him separate if your animal is not a fan.
“Our sitter randomly left our pets and Alex stepped in to save the day. He took care of our pets really well even finding our 2 cats stuck in the bedroom. Would book again!”

Julia is the best! It was such a relief to know that she was taking care of my two cats. She was very reliable, flexible, and communicative. She was super on top of the schedule and helped me manage my short-term booking that I hadn’t requested correctly. On top of that, her love of animals and joy about taking care of my cats made such a big difference. I will definitely check Julia’s availability next time I go out of town!

Alex is a phenomenal pet sitter! I booked him for drop-in visit for my cat, El Gato, and he exceeded all expectations. He was highly communicative, incredibly punctual, and clearly has a natural gift with animals. El Gato can be very selective and a bit difficult with new people, but he warmed up to Alex immediately and genuinely enjoyed his visit. Alex made sure to send great updates and great pictures, giving me total peace of mind while I was away. If you want a sitter who will genuinely care for your pet and treat them like family, look no further than Alex. I will be booking with him again!

Marilyn is the absolute best! We have a senior kitty named Zelda who is on a daily medication. Right before we left for an international trip we needed to find someone quickly who felt comfortable giving a senior kitty medication, but would also help give her the love and attention she needed while we were gone for an extra long trip. Marilyn had no fear and quickly picked up the task! Marilyn was very knowledgeable on the medication and found ways to help give Zelda the medication comfortably. She also sent us so many amazing photos and daily reports so I knew exactly how Zelda was doing. Marilyn is simply one of the best humans and we will definitely be booking again with her in the future!

Thien-Nha is absolutely wonderful and I’m so lucky to have found her. She’s reliable, responsive, and incredibly kind. Even my super shy kitty came out of hiding to say hello when Thien-Nha came over. I feel she really goes above and beyond for our pets and that is simply invaluable. Will definitely hire her again for our next trip.

Genesis was great from the start kind, reliable, and easy to communicate with. My cat is usually very shy and keeps to himself with new people, so I was honestly surprised (in the best way) when he came out and greeted her right away and seemed completely comfortable. That really stood out to me. She was responsible, dependable, and communicative throughout, and everything went smoothly. I would absolutely book Genesis again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.

Vanessa & Jeff are absolutely amazing! I was nervous leaving my pup alone for the first time but both of them are warm and friendly which put me at ease. Easy communication with them and they always sent photos and detailed updates which i appreciated. Very flexible and accomodating which helps me out alot since i work long hours. They were super patient and gentle with Coco and even got him to eat his kibble which sometimes can be tricky! Even if he made a mess, they made sure to keep his area clean. So thankful i found them..Coco loves their snuggles and was always left resting happily:) Will definitely be my trusted go-to's!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
