“I'm so glad we found Fabiola, she was a wonderful caretaker to our rabbits. She came over before our trip to make sure she understood what was necessary and was communicative throughout. She was very thorough, leaving their space very clean. She was also kind and we will definitely book her again!”

“Tillana is the best!!! She took amazing care of our two cats while we were away for vacation. Because of her, we fully enjoyed our Christmas vacation without worrying about our cats at home. Even though we put in the request at the last minute, she asked great questions beforehand, and closely communicated with us during her first visit so that she could quickly get to know our cats on a short notice! She is energetic, detail oriented, patient and truly cares about the fur babies! She always shares updates with great details and sends us lots of videos and pictures! Our older cat Luna has some skin issues and needs ointment twice a day. I was worried at first since Luna is usually very shy to strangers and wouldn’t let other people pet/touch her easily. Tillana really went above and beyond, spending time bonding with our cats, and was able to give Luna medicine with no problem! Both of our kitties started to get cuddly within just a couple of visits! We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and we will definitely come back to Tillana next time we are away. I highly recommend her!”

“Kristine was so wonderful when we had family in town. She was very flexible on timing and showed up exactly when she said she would. Kristine was so kind and helpful to our pups who had to get fed at dinner time. Would absolutely recommend and can’t wait to book her again!”

“Cordigen was wonderful and went above and beyond for our two cats while we were traveling. We massively appreciated the pictures and updates about our cats but also how Cordigen regularly took in packages and made sure everything else was in order in our home. Thank you, Cordigen!!”

“We are very happy with Nina and Leo looking after our two dogs. Kind, reliable, very diligent in looking after and taking care of the dogs. Highly recommend their services.”

About: Firm yet loving care for all dogs, specializing in puppy training, high energy, hiking/running, and managing complex medical needs like seizures, food sensitivities, and limited mobility. Currently working from home with flexible time which allows me to integrate training, walks, play time, and medical monitoring throughout the day, while weekends are dedicated to long runs/walks and trail hikes. My approach to pet care is rooted in structure, trust, and genuine affection. My services will be tailored to each dog's needs indoors or outdoors.

About: I will walk to crap out of your dog. Take that figuratively or literally as you please. Regardless, after our walks they'll come home totally tuckered out. I love dogs and have years of experience caring for dogs and house sitting. I grew up with large Chesapeake bay retrievers and am comfortable walking large dogs. I have a 1.5 year old basset hound. Aesthetically speaking, I am a sucker for a long, low canine. But I love all breeds and can't wait to meet your dog for a walk or a run outside! Can provide references. I'm currently looking for work, so have wide availability to care for your dog/cat. I am used to walking my own dog 2-3 times per day, plus training sessions and K9 nose work practice. If you are working on obedience with your dog, I'm happy to continue to provide training sessions as well while sitting them. At my home, I have a fenced yard with a 1.5 year old basset hound to keep your pups company. I can easily crate your dog if needed, and much prefer to arrange a meet and greet before sitting whenever possible to make sure your pup feels safe and confident in my care.
“Julia was wonderful! She dropped in to care for my 2 cats for three days. Her Rover cards were awesome with tons of pics and great feedback about her visit. Would definitely recommend!”

“Kelsey took such good care of my cat Rhys and I am grateful for that and for the updates and photos she sent my way! Highly recommend Kelsey for pet sitting! And I already have her booked for my next trip! Thank you Kelsey!”

About: As a fellow dog parent, I know just how important it is to find someone who'll love your pup like their own. I've learned so much from raising my sweet Cavapoo over the past 4 years - including navigating separation anxiety and training challenges with help from the awesome folks at Cali K9 and Zoom Room. All these experiences have made me a patient, understanding caregiver who knows every dog is uniquely special. Your furry friend will have a blast joining us for adventures in our local parks and trails, where we keep tails wagging with plenty of fun and positive reinforcement. I've had the joy of caring for many pups with different personalities, and I always make sure each one feels safe, happy, and right at home with us. Let's give your dog the loving attention they deserve! I'm thrilled to share what a typical day would look like for your pup! I've marked my calendar to show the days I'm home and fully available to focus on caring for your dog. Since I work from home on these days, I'm here to give your furry friend lots of attention and care. We follow a fun routine that includes at least three energetic walks daily, plus plenty of playtime with our collection of toys to keep everyone happy and engaged! I do pop out briefly for my gym sessions, but I'll always keep you in the loop about my schedule. Your dog will never feel lonely - they'll be right by my side throughout the day, getting all the love and attention they deserve! I maintain a clean, pet-proofed apartment where your furry friend can relax without any worries. For bedtime, I have a dedicated crate in the study where my dog sleeps, and I have an extra crate available if your pup is crate-trained - though they're also welcome to find their comfy spot anywhere in the apartment! Safety is my top priority, so I take extra precautions like always keeping doors securely locked and making sure the apartment is tidy and free of anything that could be harmful. When we head out for walks in our quiet, safe neighborhood, your pup will always be properly leashed, and I even use special light-up collars for our evening strolls. You can rest easy knowing your dog is in a secure, peaceful environment with someone who takes their safety seriously
“Thien-Nha is absolutely wonderful and I’m so lucky to have found her. She’s reliable, responsive, and incredibly kind. Even my super shy kitty came out of hiding to say hello when Thien-Nha came over. I feel she really goes above and beyond for our pets and that is simply invaluable. Will definitely hire her again for our next trip.”

About: I'm an experienced dog owner with over 15 years of dog care experience. I have three dogs of my own and fostered 36 dogs throughout my childhood, giving me familiarity with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and needs. While I've been away at college, I've really missed spending time with my dogs and would love the opportunity to walk and care for yours! I am very available this summer for either regularly scheduled or one-off visits. I will be in the area and able to take care of your pets until late September. I am very attentive to detail and will be sure to follow all instructions. I can be easily reached by phone and will stay in regular contact as needed. I have experience working with anxious dogs (both my own and others I've cared for), and I am comfortable walking dogs who may not be friendly to other dogs. I cannot watch dogs at my house, but I am comfortable stopping by your home for visits.
“Genevieve was very thorough and provided check-ins and followups in unclear situations (e.g. my cat has a medical condition and she was attentive and checked with me on his symptoms regularly). She also cleaned my apartment/countertops on the last day which I really appreciated!”

“Danielle was fantastic! Super communicative, easily arranged a pre-meet, sent daily detailed updates and pictures. She even earned the affection of our incredibly shy cat - no small feat! Will definitely be booking her again.”

About: My family has fostered puppies and kittens since I was 10, giving me over 12 years of experience in caring for animals. I love giving animals the best care possible and I’d love to meet yours! I currently work a hybrid schedule on the Stanford campus, allowing me to offer care in the mornings and evenings, as well as over lunch if needed. I’m also open to full-time care on the weekends and would love to spend time with your animals! Keeping your animals safe is my top priority! Understanding and upholding your expectations with your animals is my goal and key to keeping your animals safe!
About: I’ve always been around dogs and have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. I also have experience caring for a dog with seizures, which taught me to stay calm, attentive, and responsive to a pet’s needs. I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. 🐾❤️ I’m currently on a flexible summer schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care and their needs. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. In a client’s home, I’ll make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages. I always treat both pets and homes with care and respect. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free experience while you’re away. 🐾❤️
“Michele was great at taking care of my older cat. She communicated very well, made sure he was fed properly, and took care of everything else that was needed. I would definitely try to book Michele again!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all kinds my entire life including my 12 year old Lhasa Apso named Tashi. I’ve also helped walked, trained, dog-sit, and administer medication to the dogs from members of my community for a large part of my life! Additionally, I’ve shadowed at serval veterinary clinics and assisted with taking vitals and providing care for the animals. Growing up I regularly cared for my dog feeding him and walking him two times a day! I even started recently making him food from scratch in order to better suit his nutritional needs and taste preferences. I would happy to assist with pet care in the homes of my clients. I’m currently live in campus at Stanford and this can’t provide housing.

“Vivian is very responsive and took good care of out cats when we are away. She also took a lot of good pictures for our cats in the notes. I will strongly recommend Vivian to all nearby pet owners :)”

Kristine was so wonderful when we had family in town. She was very flexible on timing and showed up exactly when she said she would. Kristine was so kind and helpful to our pups who had to get fed at dinner time. Would absolutely recommend and can’t wait to book her again!

Kelsey was great: available to orient to cats/house quickly, consistent and thorough with timing of visits daily as well as updates and photos. Very responsive to texts. Quick study, reliable and really shines in that it is very evident that she loves cats! Definitely will be asking her back and highly recommend!

Tillana did an excellent job looking after our cat Zoe while we were out of town! She went above and beyond our expectations for her! She engaged with Zoe and gave her all the attention she needed to feel loved and cared for during the time we were gone. Moreover, Tillana came through for us when we contacted her on short notice! She didn’t have to help us out but she chose to step in and look after Zoe when we only gave her two days advance notice! We will be sure to reach out to her the next time we are out of town!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
