“Sydney was very flexible and take great care of our golden retriever, Stella, while I was out of town for work. She communicated excellently and I would definitely recommend her!”

“Cordigen D always is super flexible and is able to come at specific times to make sure my cat is in the house. She’s kind and my cat clearly loves her. I always get her when I travel. She’s the best.”

“Miriam was great! She did drop-ins every other day for our cat Celeste for two weeks. She was reliable and had excellent communication throughout. We also appreciate how understanding she was when she was locked out one day due to a landlord mishap. We wouldn't hesitate to book her again! Thanks Miriam :)”

“Forrest and I are so happy to have had Trina drop in and spend time with him. She is a remarkable caregiver and her affection for dogs is undeniable. I did not have to worry about her professionalism (she kept to the scheduled appointment, showed up on time, did not leave the place in a mess, and appropriately engaged with my dog based on his interest and energy level). It’s hard to find someone who can connect with dogs as well as she does and we are excited to have her to sit for us again.”

About: While I've had dogs somewhere in my life as far back as I can remember (belonging to relatives and friends), my big pet care experience started when my family got a dog of our own in 2018 (we named him Fletcher). When we got him, his foster family had mostly potty trained him, but we had to teach him other commands and house rules. In 2023, I spent a summer abroad and helped foster a couple cats, including entertaining, feeding, and cleaning litter boxes. April of Last Year, Fletcher suddenly passed from our lives and left our lives feeling quite empty indeed. Late December, we adopted another dog (named Dashi) with a very different personality than Fletcher. Dashi is very sweet but very skittish, and is much more people/"pack" oriented than treat oriented. Being a student, my hours are limited by class times. Thus, I am happy to walk or visit your dog between 8:00am-11:30am Mon-Thur, and 8:30am-5:30pm Fri and Sun. When walking dogs, I am typically one to go at the dog's comfortable pace, and will plan walk routes accordingly (although, I definitely take suggestions!). At home, I will gladly play with your dog, whether it be tug-of-war, tag, fetch, or any other game. Situation permitting, I would also be willing to take your dog on play-dates or bring my own dog (Dashi, see above) if requested. Please tell me what commands are useful for your dog, and any quirks or behaviours you want me to watch out for. While I can bring my own dog treats, I by far prefer treats that you know your dog likes and will respond to. I am not willing to take your dog off-leash in public until I am sure that your dog will return when I call.
“Mariana did a wonderful job watching my cat while I was away. Her descriptions of how my cat was doing were spectacular. I felt very comfortable with her watching after the cat.”

“Kimberly is Emmy's favorite! She is super responsible and communicative, goes above and beyond, treats my home as her own, and sends me adorable pictures of Emmy. I've even known her to give Emmy gifts (with my permission, of course)!! I couldn't be happier!”

“Jiwon is very kind and communicative, and I felt that my cat was in good hands with her. She gave concise and thoughtful updates each visit and has a genuine love of animals :-).”

About: I have had dogs and cats my entire life and have experience caring for pets of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I am comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic medications, cleaning up after pets, and following specific care instructions. I understand that every pet has its own routine and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while their owners are away. I am reliable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I have a very flexible schedule throughout the summer, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I can accommodate walks, feeding schedules, playtime, potty breaks, medication administration if needed, and overnight care. I make sure pets receive consistent attention and am available throughout the day to check on them and meet their individual needs. I care for every pet as if they were my own. I follow the owner's instructions closely regarding feeding, exercise, medications, and routines to help pets feel comfortable and secure. I prioritize safety by keeping pets supervised, ensuring gates and doors are secure, and providing a clean, calm environment. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident that their pets are happy and well cared for while they are away.
“Jess was awesome! We had a change of plans last minute before the Memorial Day weekend and I was able to find Jess the day before we left. We scheduled a meet and greet the day we were leaving to give her the rundown on how to take care of our dog (Bella), 3 guinea pigs, and rabbit. She took it all in and exceeded my expectations as I was expecting a phone call or message about something but I never did. She absolutely took great care of all of our animals!”
“Genevieve was very thorough and provided check-ins and followups in unclear situations (e.g. my cat has a medical condition and she was attentive and checked with me on his symptoms regularly). She also cleaned my apartment/countertops on the last day which I really appreciated!”

“Josh was awesome. He was able to build rapport with my dogs so quickly which is definitely not the easy. Josh was super communicative with lots of great pictures and videos. I could tell the dogs were very comfortable and happy with Josh. 100% will ask for Josh’s help next time we travel.”
“Meerim is fantastic to work with - prompt, responsive and on top of everything! She kept track of all our requirements and took care of things proactively. I would absolutely have her take care of our cats again!”

“Dog Sitter Review: Exceptional Care and Attention! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of using John for the second time, and once again, he exceeded all my expectations! This time, he took care of not just my resident dog but also my foster puppy, and I couldn't be more grateful for his dedication and compassion. It was clear that John has a genuine love for animals. He provided both dogs with plenty of attention, playtime, and care, ensuring they felt comfortable and happy during my absence. His ability to manage the needs of both my resident dog and a young, energetic puppy was impressive, and it gave me peace of mind knowing they were in such capable hands. What truly stood out this time was the extra effort he put into making my home feel welcoming upon my return. Not only did he take great care of my dogs, but he also went above and beyond by cleaning my apartment and even disposing of my trash! It’s those little touches that show how much he cares about his clients and their homes. I cannot recommend John enough! His professionalism, attentiveness, and kindness make him an outstanding choice for pet care. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pets like family and ensure your home is well taken care of, look no further. I will definitely be using his services again in the future! Thank you,John, for all that you do!”

About: I have absolutely adored dogs since I was a baby, always visiting all the dogs in Nepal and begging for a dog. At the park I would always play with the dogs and never played on the playground. I started to take care of dogs for friends and for others as well. I am very flexible with my schedule, there are points where i’m unaviable that are easy to work around, I can always make something work. I usually have my own treats and I’ll ask the owner if they are comfortable with me giving them to the pets. I make sure I know everything about the animal, its likes and dislikes
About: I've loved animals my whole life and have cared for pets since 2016. I had my own bunny for five years, which taught me responsibility, patience, and how much consistency matters in pet care. Over the years, I've helped roommates, friends, and family with their pets, including feeding, walks (rain included!), baths when needed, cleaning up accidents, playtime, and companionship. While I don't yet provide emergency or medical care beyond the basics, I'm very comfortable with daily routines and making pets feel safe and loved. What sets me apart is that I'm very good at following instructions. I know every pet parent has specific preferences, and I respect that fully. During the first visit, I may ask clarifying questions to make sure I'm doing everything exactly how you like it. I also keep your home tidy and send regular updates with photos so you feel at ease. I'm available weekdays during standard working hours and would love to spend that time giving your pup or kitty attention, movement, and care. I'm currently available on weekdays during standard 9-5 hours, which makes me a great fit for midday walks, drop-in visits, and weekday care. I'm not available on weekends at this time. Since I'm focusing on weekday bookings, I'm able to give your pet my full attention during visits rather than rushing between commitments. Your pet's comfort and your home's safety are very important to me. I carefully follow all instructions, double-check doors and leashes, and make sure your pet is secure before and after walks. I maintain a calm presence and respect both your home and your pet's boundaries. I clean up after pets, keep litter areas and feeding spaces tidy, and leave your home as I found it. Clear communication is important to me, so you can expect updates, photos, and honest check-ins throughout my time with your pet.

I believe that our dogs are family members and will treat your pet with the best possible care and attention. I can provide round the clock care on most days to maintain your dog's regular routine as much as possible. We can discuss what your preferences are. I will take care of your dog based on your instructions. I will diligently make sure that your dog is safe, comfortable, happy under my care and your home is looked after. Each dog is different, and I'll adjust to provide personalized care to meet your dog's needs and preference. I can provide exercises such as walking, hiking, playing fetch, or snuggling on the couch. I will provide you frequent updates and photos. I'm a text away and will respond to your inquiries promptly.
“Courtney always does such a wonderful job when she walks and checks in our Fufu. I feel much more at ease knowing she will be coming by. I also love the pictures she sends of their time together so I can see him and know he's having fun.”

I highly recommend Xiao! She was incredibly responsible and attentive while watching my cat. She kept me updated on everything with regular check-ins and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It’s clear she truly cares about animals, and my cat was so well looked after. I will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future. Thank you so much for the wonderful care!
I’m very grateful for Mica’s attentive and caring service while taking care of my kitties when I was away, including giving one of my cats their inhaler medication. She was reliable, kind, and thoughtful, and I definitely hope to continue having her help in the future.

Michael was amazing. He understood every ask I gave of him, even those that were conditional on what he saw at our house. He made sure to give my cat the full time, and never let her out of his sight while he was with her. I would happily book him again to take care of my cat

Katelyn was absolutely incredible with my two cats! She did a fantastic job feeding and playing with them, and she sent tons of wonderful photo updates that totally put my mind at ease. On top of that, one of my kitties had a messy bathroom accident, and she went above and beyond to clean everything up.

I was very impressed with G.'s visits. My cat is very skittish but when I returned from my trip, she was calm so I think G. did nothing to cause anxiety. In addition, in one of her daily reports, G. pointed out something about the cat's feeding habits. I was aware of this but felt that it was very responsible of G. to notice it after just a couple of days and bring it to my attention. I will be calling G. the next time I have a trip planned. Thank you G. for being so conscientious.
Rachel is our regular and favorite cat sitter since we joined Rover over a few years ago! She takes great care of my apartment and cats and they absolutely love her! Rachel is the absolute best!

We had a wonderful experience with Anastacia.. she took great care of our cat and dog, kept us updated with the cutest Rover Cards and made us feel confident and comfortable while we were away. We would definitely love to have her pet sit for us again and recommend her to others!

I had a great experience with Kenzi!! She was very responsive, easy to communication with, and clearly cared a lot. My cat loved her, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Everything went smoothly and I will definitely book with her again! Overall and all around great experience :)

Josh was awesome. He was able to build rapport with my dogs so quickly which is definitely not the easy. Josh was super communicative with lots of great pictures and videos. I could tell the dogs were very comfortable and happy with Josh. 100% will ask for Josh’s help next time we travel.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
