“Caroline was so wonderful!! She was prompt, responsible, and sent so many photos each day. She was great with my kitty who adored her and even sacrificed some of her own hair ties for her to play with!”

“Excellent sitter, clearly cared for the boys beyond the requirements. He got an inconsistent eater to eat, cleaned up after one that micturated on a rug, and even played music for them. The one that's generally friendly loved him, and the one that's generally unfriendly tolerated him right off the bat which is impressive.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for family, friends, neighbors, anyone with a furry bestie! Can’t have pets yet but would treat them as my own. Honestly I would love to have a pet of my own, but would like to be a home owner with a yard before I get a big old best friend. I love to watch my friends pets for them, and am joining Rover as a walker/ sitter so I could selfishly shower them with pets and love :-) I make sure that they get a wonderful day getting some energy out. Will typically walk a dog for ~30 min unless requested otherwise. My friends typically leave specific instructions for me, as their pets require more care (feeding hours, medicine application, etc.) and I will always make sure to follow your instructions as you intend!
“Jordan was kind, communicative, friendly, and respectful. She was a great choice to stop in and look after Finn and Remi. She stepped up when I reached out with short notice and gave the boys the best care (and day) ever. I highly recommend her to watch your pets!”

About: I am a college student with a lifelong love for animals! I grew up with 2 dogs and 2 cats, and my friends & family often rely on me to care for their pets, including senior dogs. With a professional background leading youth programs and managing an office, I am incredibly dependable, safety focused, and organized. I also love hiking and would be thrilled to take your dogs on walks! Pet care is the highlight of my daily routine! As a college student, I have a very manageable schedule that allows me to easily step away for drop ins & walks. I already love spending my free time outdoors, so taking dogs along with me on walks or stopping to socialize with a cat sits perfectly into my everyday life. When I’m a guest in your home, my top priority is maintaining your pet’s normal routine while treating your space with respect! I am meticulous about following your exact instructions for feeding and house rules. You can expect me to leave your home exactly as I found it, or cleaner! I am highly diligent about scooping litter boxes, wiping up wet food spills, and double checking that all doors and gates are locked before I leave.

I also worked as a Zookeeper Aide at the Oakland Zoo, where I helped prepare specialized diets and support daily animal care operations in a fast-paced environment. I’m currently completing a Master’s degree in Environmental Health Sciences at Columbia University, so I’m especially detail-oriented, responsible, communicative, and reliable. What You Can Expect From Me: -Reliability, reliability, reliability! ☺️ -Regular communication, updates, and photos -Calm, patient handling style -Attention to detailed feeding and care instructions -Lots of affection, play, and individualized attention Previous Experience: -Zookeeper Aide at Oakland Zoo -Behavioral Health worker at a California primate center -Animal care work at research centers -Wildlife rehabilitation and sanctuary volunteer experience -Pet sitting experience with a wide range of pet breeds and personalities -Pet First Aid and CPR certified I'm currently working remotely on my capstone project to finish my Master's degree, which means my schedule is quite flexible to care for your fur babies! I do have my own cat so I need to take his own care into account when considering bookings. I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and consistent environment for every pet in their own home. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication, routines, and household rules while paying close attention to behavior, appetite, and overall wellbeing. I understand that every animal has a different comfort level and personality, so I approach each pet with patience, attentiveness, and respect for their space and routine.
“Miriam did a great job taking care of our two cats over the holidays. We ended up getting sick on our trip and she was very flexible and let us extend how long she was watching them until we were feeling well enough to travel.”

About: I've loved animals my whole life and have cared for pets since 2016. I had my own bunny for five years, which taught me responsibility, patience, and how much consistency matters in pet care. Over the years, I've helped roommates, friends, and family with their pets, including feeding, walks (rain included!), baths when needed, cleaning up accidents, playtime, and companionship. While I don't yet provide emergency or medical care beyond the basics, I'm very comfortable with daily routines and making pets feel safe and loved. What sets me apart is that I'm very good at following instructions. I know every pet parent has specific preferences, and I respect that fully. During the first visit, I may ask clarifying questions to make sure I'm doing everything exactly how you like it. I also keep your home tidy and send regular updates with photos so you feel at ease. I'm available weekdays during standard working hours and would love to spend that time giving your pup or kitty attention, movement, and care. I'm currently available on weekdays during standard 9-5 hours, which makes me a great fit for midday walks, drop-in visits, and weekday care. I'm not available on weekends at this time. Since I'm focusing on weekday bookings, I'm able to give your pet my full attention during visits rather than rushing between commitments. Your pet's comfort and your home's safety are very important to me. I carefully follow all instructions, double-check doors and leashes, and make sure your pet is secure before and after walks. I maintain a calm presence and respect both your home and your pet's boundaries. I clean up after pets, keep litter areas and feeding spaces tidy, and leave your home as I found it. Clear communication is important to me, so you can expect updates, photos, and honest check-ins throughout my time with your pet.

About: Grew up with small and large dogs like Spitz and Golden retriever. Currently live with 3 cats🐱 Always Pet sitting for friends over holidays in the past including domestic cats, ragdoll, poodles and doodles, Bernese mountain, Maltese, Cotons, Cavapoo, Bichon… Flexible in time and locations My work schedule is pretty flexible, which makes it easy for me to fit pet care into my daily routine. I also enjoy driving and don’t mind traveling a bit for pet sitting or drop-in visits. I’m usually available on weekends as well, so I can be flexible with different schedules and care needs. I always follow the owner’s house rules and care instructions, and try my best to keep each pet’s normal routine while their family is away. Every pet is different, so I’m happy to adjust to their needs—whether that means extra walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply giving them some space. My goal is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and at home while in my care. 🐾
“Jiwon is very kind and communicative, and I felt that my cat was in good hands with her. She gave concise and thoughtful updates each visit and has a genuine love of animals :-).”

“We had a wonderful experience with Ke while we were away for a week in Tahoe! She was incredibly easy to communicate with, and it was clear our two kitties were in such thoughtful, caring hands. We felt completely at ease knowing they were being so well looked after. We’re so grateful for the care Ke gave them and will absolutely be booking her again in the future!”

“I was very impressed with G.'s visits. My cat is very skittish but when I returned from my trip, she was calm so I think G. did nothing to cause anxiety. In addition, in one of her daily reports, G. pointed out something about the cat's feeding habits. I was aware of this but felt that it was very responsible of G. to notice it after just a couple of days and bring it to my attention. I will be calling G. the next time I have a trip planned. Thank you G. for being so conscientious.”
“I had a smooth, pleasant experience booking with Aiko! My pups looked happy to be with her. I heard that they went on multiple short walks and received treats that I provided. I would confidently book Aiko again.”

“Really appreciated the quick turn around from Stephanie. I booked on short notice about a day before a week long trip and she was able to accommodate specific meeting times for key handoff/instructions. Did a wonderful job taking care of Lily 2x a day. Would highly recommend!”

About: Hi, My name is Alex, it's nice to meet you. I have loved dogs my whole life. I enjoy taking care of them and the care they give back in return. Walking your dog will be as rewarding to them as it will be to me. I am a 33 year old male currently living in Mountain View. I am here to walk dogs and to do my best to care for them when I am on the job. Although I've attended a few dog training classes. Most my experience comes from being with dogs and research I've done along the way. I've been walking dogs for years now. I'll do my best to be observant, safe, and professional. My schedule is fairly open so I have the ability to be flexible with my customers.
“Meerim is fantastic to work with - prompt, responsive and on top of everything! She kept track of all our requirements and took care of things proactively. I would absolutely have her take care of our cats again!”

Andriana is incredibly intentional, organized, kind, and a great communicator. She kept us updated and gave us peace of mind knowing our cats were in caring hands. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. We would absolutely recommend her to the Rover community!

I’ve never used Rover or had a pet sitter and am so grateful to connect with Blair! She helped me feel totally comfortable with having her come check on Rocky when I was away visiting my mom after his major move out to California from Texas. Now I know I can go places and someone can check on Rocky and also bring him some play time which is a huge relief. He loves to play so this is great and I think the extra treats helped him feel even better adjusting to life here. I have the automatic feeder and litter but still loved having Blair check on Rocky and send photos. Can’t wait to have her come again for my trip next week! She made such good friends with him quickly which is surprising as he can be shy and cranky lol

Lisa took wonderful care of Tchitcha while we were away. She was reliable, attentive, and kept us updated throughout the visits. It gave us such peace of mind knowing Tchitcha was in good hands. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for kitty. Thank you so much, Lisa! We would absolutely book with her again.

Jess did great with Moose! The meet and greet beforehand helped us (and Moose) to feel really comfortable with everything. Jess asked great questions, showing how much she cared about the visit! And we appreciated her flexibility with last minute time changes. Thank you Jess!! 🐾🐾

Jordan was outstanding. 10/10 would book with her again. She treated our cat Juniper like her own and was so thoughtful about sharing updates and taking pictures. Little Junebug was happy as a clam when we got back from our trip, her coat was shiny, and her eyes clear. And that is saying a lot since other times we have left her with cat sitters we've returned to find her scrawny and overgroomed from stress. Thank you, Jordan!!!

We had a wonderful experience with Ke while we were away for a week in Tahoe! She was incredibly easy to communicate with, and it was clear our two kitties were in such thoughtful, caring hands. We felt completely at ease knowing they were being so well looked after. We’re so grateful for the care Ke gave them and will absolutely be booking her again in the future!

Kenzi was amazing with our cat! She was very communicative and detailed in every Rover report card, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Our cat can be very aggressive with strangers and has even attacked previous nannies, but Kenzi was incredibly patient with her and also creative in distracting her while she cleaned the litter and took care of everything. By the end, our cat was trusting her enough to let her pet her sometimes, which is a HUGE deal! Kenzi was also punctual, respectful, and followed all our instructions perfectly. We will definitely book her again for future trips!

Kevin did a great job taking care of my cat while I was away. He was friendly and easy to communicate with. During our meet, he asked thoughtful questions about my cat’s routine and even small details like litter disposal, which really showed his experience and attention to detail. During each visit, he not only handled all the basics but also spent time playing with my cat, which I really appreciated. I felt totally at ease knowing she was in good hands. I would definitely book with Kevin again. Highly recommended!

Lisa took great care of my two cats! One of them is very shy and the other is super playful, but Lisa made sure both felt comfortable and gave my active cat plenty of fun playtime. This isn't the first time I've hired Lisa, but it was her first time caring for both cats together, and as always, she did a fantastic job. Highly recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
