“Cameron did a wonderful job taking care of our cat Maddy, was super attentive and sent us updates with lots of pictures and details. We would definitely have him take care of our kitten in the future again. Thanks so much Cameron!”

“Jenna was great at taking care of our 2 senior cats - Marley and Bailey. She gave very detailed rover cards, sent photos, was very quick to reply and followed instructions well. I would recommend her and will use Jenna in the future.”

“Forrest and I are so happy to have had Trina drop in and spend time with him. She is a remarkable caregiver and her affection for dogs is undeniable. I did not have to worry about her professionalism (she kept to the scheduled appointment, showed up on time, did not leave the place in a mess, and appropriately engaged with my dog based on his interest and energy level). It’s hard to find someone who can connect with dogs as well as she does and we are excited to have her to sit for us again.”

“Danielle was awesome! She took great care of our cat Boba while we were away. Boba loved getting petted by Danielle and looked forward to her visit everyday. Boba now has a new friend! :)”

“Rachel took care of our two cats for 14 days. She was absolutely wonderful with them. She was able to connect to the cats right away, and even though they are usually shy and even hide from strangers, Rachel was able to get them to come out on the first day and took wonderful pictures of them sniffing her hands and eating. Rachel even took care of watering the plants and cleaning up around the bit of ants that the cat food attracted, as well as the cat poops and pees that our cats tend to leave around the house, and monitored how they were doing each day. We would definitely ask Rachel to come again.”

“Sjofn was soooooo happy to get so many belly rubs she was thrilled and didn’t want them to leave. I highly recommend Guilherme and his wife. Sjofn would be thrilled to get more belly rubs and I would be happy to have them watch her again :)”

“What a dream Rover! Megan is so attentive, gave thorough check ins with adorable photos, and kept our active girl busy with neighborhood adventures. We can tell our dog really enjoys and trusts her — which makes all the difference while we’re away. Thank you Megan!!!”

About: I have over ten years of experience pet sitting cats and dogs. Outside of having my own cat, I’ve been a trusted dog and cat sitter for several neighbors and friends. I work part time, however love the companionship of animals. I am rather flexible and can manipulate my schedule for more or less hours depending on the furry friend. I live in a house with a big gated backyard and lawn with plenty of room for room for zoomies. We have a big german shepherd that spends most her time in the backyard, protecting us from intruder squirrels!
“Outstanding support and help with our 9-1/2 year old lab while we were out of town. Very attentive, gracious and caring in looking after our dog. Will absolutely use again if she is willing to watch Moose again.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats since I was young and have had animals as a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’m the go-to pet sitter among my friends and have experience caring for pets with a variety of needs. I’ve also volunteered with a cat rescue, where I helped care for kittens and cats with different health and behavioral needs. I work from home as a licensed psychotherapist, which allows me to provide reliable companionship and attention for pets throughout the day. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your animals, and I bring the same level of patience, responsibility, and care to pet sitting that I bring to my work with clients. I truly love animals of all kinds (including reptiles!) and believe every pet deserves patience, attention, and individualized care. My goal is to help your pet feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away, while giving you the peace of mind that they’re in good hands. I work from home as a licensed psychotherapist, which allows me to provide reliable care and attention throughout the day. My schedule allows for flexibility, regular check-ins, and plenty of time to be present with the pets in my care. About: I’m an experienced dog sitter who had just relocated from San Francisco. I regularly watched a dog 3 times a week and can take up to 2 dogs at once. I've helped take care of my parents dog for 8 years since she was a puppy and I take her to the beach, for walks, to play at the dog park, and bathe her regularly. I work until 3pm so I have plenty of time in the afternoon to take pups out for walks. I love meeting new dogs and am used to high energy dogs. I am very comfortable around dogs and want your dog to be happy. I am very clean and want to be considerate of your space.
About: I grew up with the sweetest Shih Tzu in the world named Dak (a small computer chip). And I think my style of pet care came from taking care of him. I was attentive and gave him lots of love. He loved driving in the car with me, actually :) I have been pet sitting for friends and on other platforms for over 5 years in their homes. And I took care of a neighbor's bird way back in high school. For the most part I have specialized in cats and small to medium dogs. I also have a calm spirit that many animals are drawn to. So we can chill together for a long time. In addition, I'm responsible and respectful, caring and considerate not only for pets but also for owner's homes. I am able to communicate well and clearly and can problem solve to resolve any situation which might arise. In short, I have the know-how to be able to feed, entertain, clean up after, and love cats and dogs and their living spaces. And I can communicate well to their parents to keep them safe and happy while mom and dads are away. I currently work part-time teaching English online. I also am writing my doctoral dissertation. This means I am home a lot and very happy to spend lots of time with pets, even at my desk with me or curled up on the sofa. I strictly watch pets in their own homes. Firstly, because I am missionary and I've been staying temporarily in my parents house in North Carolina and now here with my brother in Palo Alto. Secondly, because I think pets are much happier if they can stay in their own homes and in familiar surroundings.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Stanford
Rachel is amazing! She is really clued in to our cat’s well being and quirky habits. Her daily reports (including things she notices that are non-pet related, like houseplant watering needs) and attention to detail make us feel completely at ease while we are gone. She’s the absolute best!!!
I can't say enough good things about Anna! She arrived on time and jumped right in to playing with Louie. She took him for a walk, played with him in the yard, and gave him a much-needed rest time. I know these things because she sent me pictures when I was away. The house was clean when I got home, and my puppy was relaxed and happy! I would have Anna back in a heartbeat!

Jenna is an exceptional cat sitter, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pets. She is warm, kind, and naturally wonderful with animals. From the very beginning, I felt completely comfortable knowing my cat was in her care.
Jess is awesome! Incredibly attentive, responsive and caring. My kitty is older and needs lots of affection- he didn’t even seem to notice I was gone with Jess coming to care for him. I cannot recommend her highly enough!! Thank you Jess for being such a wonderful cat sitter for Carl!

Savanna was once again very responsive and wonderful to work with. She is a great communicator and problem solver. It was so great of her to take care of ants that threatened my cat’s food access while I was away. I’m so grateful to have had someone trusted like Savanna look after Maxine.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
