“I booked with Megan for check-ins for my three cats over the holidays and she was amazing! From the meet and greet to her notes and pictures, she was professional and attentive. She went above and beyond providing care for my pets. After a few other lukewarm Rover experiences, I was so happy to find Megan.”

“This was our first time having Rachel look after our boys! She did an excellent job and was stellar with her questions and attention to detail. She had questions for us about details we forgot on our OWN cat instructions. If you are looking for a new cat sitter - look no further!”

About: I grew up with dogs and hamsters as a kid, but my love for animals didn’t end there. I raised and trained two dogs from puppies to adult. I volunteered at the SPCA socializing cats. I adopted and raised cats from kitten to adult. I currently have a 15 yr old and two 2.5 yr old cats. I have helped dog sit and cat sit for friends over the years and fostered several litters of dogs and a few cats. I love animals and will ensure yours gets the attention, care and time they deserve. I’m currently a teacher on summer break . I’m traveling for some of June but around in July with low key plans around the area. I’d fit my plans around your fur baby’s needs. I will follow the needs you share of your pets and your expectations , and use my skillset to connect with your animals at the level they are comfortable with.
“Genevieve was so great with our two cats! She was so kind and really went above and beyond to make sure they were cared for. She was also easy to reach, and sent lots of pictures of the cats, which we really appreciated. We would definitely hire her again and recommend her to others!”

About: I grew up raising three dogs and have experience caring for both indoor and outdoor dogs with different personalities and energy levels. I now have a dog of my own, Kylo Bear, a fully trained Goldendoodle/Aussie mix who keeps life fun and active. I’m extremely dedicated, detail-oriented, and truly love being around dogs. Because I work from home, I’m able to provide lots of attention, supervision, walks, playtime, and affection throughout the day. Kylo is very well trained, and I’m happy to help reinforce training, routines, and good habits during my time with your dog if that’s something you’d like incorporated. I understand how important routines, patience, and communication are when caring for someone else’s pet, and I’ll always make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether your pup loves being active or just wants cuddles and company, I’ll care for them like family. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine since I work from home. I structure my day around breaks for walks, playtime, feeding schedules, and outdoor time, so dogs are never left without attention or company for long periods. Having my own dog, Kylo Bear, already makes pet care part of my everyday life. He’s fully trained and well-behaved, and I’m used to incorporating walks, training reinforcement, and structured activity throughout the day. Outside of regular work hours, I love being active with dogs, taking them on longer walks or even jogs if they enjoy it. I’m flexible and able to adjust my schedule to match each dog’s needs, whether that means more exercise, more play, or a calmer environment. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and structured environment for every dog in my care. Because I work from home, dogs are supervised throughout the day and are rarely left alone for extended periods. I build my schedule around their needs, including regular walks, feeding routines, playtime, and rest. In my home, dogs are treated like part of the family. I make sure they have a comfortable, clean, and low-stress space where they can relax and feel secure. I’m attentive to each dog’s personality and energy level, and I adjust activity accordingly. Whether that means structured play, enrichment, or quiet downtime. Safety is always my top priority. Walks are done on leash, and I’m mindful of each dog’s behavior, triggers, and comfort level in different environments. I also follow any instructions closely and keep owners updated with communication and photos so they feel confident and connected while they’re away.
“Kate was fantastic with our pup, Milo! She was so accommodating of our schedules, which made everything so much easier. Milo was really happy to hang out with her, and we could tell he felt comfortable and well cared for :)”

About: I can provide loving leadership for your dog that is consistent and reliable. I love dogs but I’m not allowed to have pets where I live so I’m excited for the opportunity to help with your dog(s). I work full time from Monday-Friday in the office (9am-5:30pm) but if you’re in the Menlo Park area I can drop in during my lunch. I can go for morning and evening walks, along with trips to the dog park if you want to socialize your dog. My weekends are totally free so I have ample time to spend them to train, socialize and keep your dog company. Dogs need structure and a safe space to feel confident. With my own dog, she had a kennel and a dedicated space where she can decompress but also find ways to get energy out. I’d keep that same energy for all my clients! I’d foster a place of structure and training along with balancing play when it is time.
About: I love taking care of dogs! I've grown up with dogs my whole life (1 Maltipoo, 2 Shih-Tzus, 1 Aussie Doodle, and 1 Poodle), each of which has had a distinct personality. I also have experience dog-sitting for larger dogs in the area, including Golden Retrievers and Black Labs. My family's current pets are quite needy, so I am used to frequent walking and particular routines. However, I'm also happy with a more relaxed dog. Over the summer, I will be working about 5 hrs/week in person and 10 hrs/week remotely. I am very flexible for dog walking, including in the morning and the evening. I live in a 2BR/2BA apartment building on Stanford campus. The building is very new. It is surrounded by several fields and playgrounds, so there is plenty of space for dogs to be walked. I have no personal pets.
“Alexis took amazing care of our cat Cooper while we were away for two weeks! Cooper fell in love with Alexis right away, and we came back from our trip to find him happy and relaxed. We really appreciated the detailed Rover cards and the sweet pictures every day.”

“Outstanding support and help with our 9-1/2 year old lab while we were out of town. Very attentive, gracious and caring in looking after our dog. Will absolutely use again if she is willing to watch Moose again.”

“Elle was so good with our cats! We had not left them for a long trip and she made us feel relaxed and confident leaving the gents in her care. PLUS we got delayed and she graciously let us rebook for the extra few days.”

About: I’m a passionate dog lover with over 10 years of personal experience raising and caring for dogs of various breeds and sizes. Although I currently live in a rental that doesn't allow pets, I deeply miss the companionship of a furry friend. This is why I’ve decided to become a dog walker—to share my love and energy with your pets! My current schedule allows me plenty of time for pet care! I am also fully available on weekend mornings to provide your pups with the exercise and attention they need to start their day right. Since I work part-time, I can be very flexible and reliable for your furry friends. Safety is my top priority. When walking your dog, I am always alert to the surroundings and keep a firm grip on the leash to avoid any unexpected situations. I strictly follow your specific instructions regarding feeding, triggers, or favorite routes. I believe in clear communication and will provide you with frequent photo updates and detailed reports, so you can feel completely at ease knowing your pet is in responsible hands.
About: I’m an experienced dog sitter who had just relocated from San Francisco. I regularly watched a dog 3 times a week and can take up to 2 dogs at once. I've helped take care of my parents dog for 8 years since she was a puppy and I take her to the beach, for walks, to play at the dog park, and bathe her regularly. I work until 3pm so I have plenty of time in the afternoon to take pups out for walks. I love meeting new dogs and am used to high energy dogs. I am very comfortable around dogs and want your dog to be happy. I am very clean and want to be considerate of your space.
About: I grew up with the sweetest Shih Tzu in the world named Dak (a small computer chip). And I think my style of pet care came from taking care of him. I was attentive and gave him lots of love. He loved driving in the car with me, actually :) I have been pet sitting for friends and on other platforms for over 5 years in their homes. And I took care of a neighbor's bird way back in high school. For the most part I have specialized in cats and small to medium dogs. I also have a calm spirit that many animals are drawn to. So we can chill together for a long time. In addition, I'm responsible and respectful, caring and considerate not only for pets but also for owner's homes. I am able to communicate well and clearly and can problem solve to resolve any situation which might arise. In short, I have the know-how to be able to feed, entertain, clean up after, and love cats and dogs and their living spaces. And I can communicate well to their parents to keep them safe and happy while mom and dads are away. I currently work part-time teaching English online. I also am writing my doctoral dissertation. This means I am home a lot and very happy to spend lots of time with pets, even at my desk with me or curled up on the sofa. I strictly watch pets in their own homes. Firstly, because I am missionary and I've been staying temporarily in my parents house in North Carolina and now here with my brother in Palo Alto. Secondly, because I think pets are much happier if they can stay in their own homes and in familiar surroundings.
“Natalie was absolutely wonderful!! My girls (Romy and Michele, two very felonious felines) immediately warmed up to her and she loved them as if they were her own. Natalie was exceptionally communicative, took many pictures, and it was clear that she genuinely enjoyed being with my girls. I will DEFINITELY be using Natalie again, and I cannot recommend her in the strongest enough terms to any cat parent!”

About: Over the years I’ve noticed that I can’t think of a single bad experience that I’ve had with cats/dogs. Pretty much every single animal I have crossed paths with has grown comfortable with me if not immediately. I think maybe it’s the way I approach animals, im always talking to them like they’re humans for some reason and it almost seems like they can understand me. And I like to tell myself I can understand them and their silent expressions. This is what draws me to animals so much. That silent understanding and comfort is what makes me love animals so much. I’m currently on summer break while working 2 part time jobs, one is a weekend job only at a pottery shop called color me mine and on top of that I work as an assistant for a home stager! My schedule with her isn’t consistent so I’m looking for one more flexible job. Unfortunately I’m living in a pretty small studio while I study interior design. Because of that I had to leave my pets at home and I decided to rescue an indoor cat in need of a safe home. I got him a window perch which he loves to watch cats and birds on. And every day I make sure to leave my front door open for him so he can watch from the screen with some fresh air. I’ve actually tried to get him outdoors a few times on a harness so he could get familiar with the area but since it’s kind of a busy area the sounds were freaking him out. He loves being pet and snuggling up under my blanket so I give him as much affection as I can throughout the day even if that means I go through endless amounts of lint rollers to get all his hair off of me!! I love taking dogs on walks that’s the only thing I wish cats were more comfortable doing haha!
About: I grew up surrounded by dogs thanks to my dad, who is a veterinarian and ran his own animal hospital in Europe. From a young age I loved helping out at the clinic, learning how to care for animals and building a natural connection with dogs of all kinds. I am now moving to Stanford to study a master’s in medicine, and I really miss having dogs around. Spending time with them has always been something that makes me happy, so I would love to take care of your dog and give them the same love and attention I would give my own 🐶 I am friendly, responsible, and attentive to each dog’s needs. También hablo español! My schedule can vary day to day, but I do my best to stay flexible. Feel free to check my calendar and send me a message to confirm availability. I will be based in Stanford starting mid-September! When I care for your pet in your home, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after in their own environment. I follow their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, and any specific instructions you provide. I make sure they always have fresh water, plenty of exercise, and time for play and companionship, not just quick visits. If your dog needs medication or any special care, I’m attentive and careful to follow directions closely. I also keep their space clean and make sure they’re relaxed and settled while you’re away. I love keeping you updated, I’ll send photos, videos, and even little collages of our walks so you can see where we’ve been and how many miles we covered. Looking forward to meeting your dog 🐶
The median cost per visit for pet sitting in Stanford is $29
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Stanford
Rachel was so sweet and took great care of my cat! She was very attentive to all care instructions and left detailed summaries every day, going above and beyond to have quality time and playtime together. She even left a sweet note and photo at the end of the stay. Thank you Rachel, I felt very secure knowing Fiadh was in good hands!

Tillana is seriously a cat whisperer. We have two cats who are usually wary around strangers but to our very pleasant surprise, they both quickly warmed up to her from the very first meeting!! I think it made a huge difference that she’s detail-oriented. Prior to the first visit, she asked a lot of questions about the cats’ personalities to be best prepared and really wowed us with her memory recall about our cats’ likes/dislikes during the first visit. During that visit, she came in with calm, gentle, friendly energy and our cats really responded positively to that. They immediately let her pet them and even gave her little licks!! They’ve never done that before to someone new! Every day she sent us beautiful, thoughtful updates that really made us feel at ease while we were away. Every update put big smiles on our faces and we felt so comfortable knowing that our fur babies were in such trustworthy, capable hands. Tillana is such a warm, kind-hearted person and I think it really shows through how receptive pets are towards her. We feel truly lucky to have found her and would absolutely recommend to her to anyone looking for exceptional, top-tier level of care.
Katelyn was absolutely incredible with my two cats! She did a fantastic job feeding and playing with them, and she sent tons of wonderful photo updates that totally put my mind at ease. On top of that, one of my kitties had a messy bathroom accident, and she went above and beyond to clean everything up.

Justine is the best! She was flexible and kind, working with us when our plans changed on short notice. She's always wonderful with our kitty and shares detailed updates. She even went above and beyond to help us address a pest issue while we were away. Thank you, Justine!!

I was very impressed with G.'s visits. My cat is very skittish but when I returned from my trip, she was calm so I think G. did nothing to cause anxiety. In addition, in one of her daily reports, G. pointed out something about the cat's feeding habits. I was aware of this but felt that it was very responsible of G. to notice it after just a couple of days and bring it to my attention. I will be calling G. the next time I have a trip planned. Thank you G. for being so conscientious.
Ally was so great taking care of our senior cat. He needs medication and some extra care so having Ally give him the right attention was important to us. Ally gave us detailed updates and pictures throughout our vacation which helps us know our cat is well taken care of. Highly recommend Ally for any pet care.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
