“Darling young sitters who took great care of our Sandy. She was very comfortable with them and they sent quite a few pictures to put our minds at ease. It was super convenient since we had an appointment at Stanford Medical Center and they live right on Stanford campus.”

“Stacey has been incredible with our little dog Coco. She has been extremely communicative and sent us lots of pictures during our time away. Coco loved her time hanging out with Stacey’s dogs and having lots of play time. Thank you so much Stacey, we’ll definitely be booking again!”

About: Firm yet loving care for all dogs, specializing in puppy training, high energy, hiking/running, and managing complex medical needs like seizures, food sensitivities, and limited mobility. Currently working from home with flexible time which allows me to integrate training, walks, play time, and medical monitoring throughout the day, while weekends are dedicated to long runs/walks and trail hikes. My approach to pet care is rooted in structure, trust, and genuine affection. My services will be tailored to each dog's needs indoors or outdoors.
About: I grew up with the sweetest Shih Tzu in the world named Dak (a small computer chip). And I think my style of pet care came from taking care of him. I was attentive and gave him lots of love. He loved driving in the car with me, actually :) I have been pet sitting for friends and on other platforms for over 5 years in their homes. And I took care of a neighbor's bird way back in high school. For the most part I have specialized in cats and small to medium dogs. I also have a calm spirit that many animals are drawn to. So we can chill together for a long time. In addition, I'm responsible and respectful, caring and considerate not only for pets but also for owner's homes. I am able to communicate well and clearly and can problem solve to resolve any situation which might arise. In short, I have the know-how to be able to feed, entertain, clean up after, and love cats and dogs and their living spaces. And I can communicate well to their parents to keep them safe and happy while mom and dads are away. I currently work part-time teaching English online. I also am writing my doctoral dissertation. This means I am home a lot and very happy to spend lots of time with pets, even at my desk with me or curled up on the sofa. I strictly watch pets in their own homes. Firstly, because I am missionary and I've been staying temporarily in my parents house in North Carolina and now here with my brother in Palo Alto. Secondly, because I think pets are much happier if they can stay in their own homes and in familiar surroundings.
About: I’m an experienced dog sitter who had just relocated from San Francisco. I regularly watched a dog 3 times a week and can take up to 2 dogs at once. I've helped take care of my parents dog for 8 years since she was a puppy and I take her to the beach, for walks, to play at the dog park, and bathe her regularly. I work until 3pm so I have plenty of time in the afternoon to take pups out for walks. I love meeting new dogs and am used to high energy dogs. I am very comfortable around dogs and want your dog to be happy. I am very clean and want to be considerate of your space.
“Odin had a great time, settled right in with the pack. Edward and Elisha are very communicative and provide lots of photos, they have been great to work with. Odin will definitely be going back for more fun!”

About: I love taking care of dogs! I've grown up with dogs my whole life (1 Maltipoo, 2 Shih-Tzus, 1 Aussie Doodle, and 1 Poodle), each of which has had a distinct personality. I also have experience dog-sitting for larger dogs in the area, including Golden Retrievers and Black Labs. My family's current pets are quite needy, so I am used to frequent walking and particular routines. However, I'm also happy with a more relaxed dog. Over the summer, I will be working about 5 hrs/week in person and 10 hrs/week remotely. I am very flexible for dog walking, including in the morning and the evening. I live in a 2BR/2BA apartment building on Stanford campus. The building is very new. It is surrounded by several fields and playgrounds, so there is plenty of space for dogs to be walked. I have no personal pets.
“Manli was extremely prompt with her communication:D we had a last minute change in work schedule and she was able to accommodate both our 3yr old Rusty and 6 month old puppy Ruby! They seemed like they had a great time:)”

“Super sweet family! Our dog was raised with a toddler so it was nice to have kids for her to be with since we don't have any of our own. Normally our dog is nervous about new places. She ran into the house like it was her own. Angela was patient with me being this was our very 1st Rover experience. I had a lot of issues with the website. Kangwoong took care of JuJu as soon as she rushed through the door to play with their daughter. The updates were timely as if Angela could tell when I was missing our little pup. And the whole family came to say goodbye when it was time to leave. Small gestures that mean a lot! She must have had a good day as she slept on the ride home & passed out a little before her usual bedtime in a deep sleep. This morning she woke up on her back stretched out basically saying, "I am living a good life!" She seemed very happy with her stay & she was the right amount of tired. Thank you so much to the entire family for making our first experience an awesome one!”

“Our puppy had such a great time with Ying! She was super attentive to all our puppy’s needs and sent lots of pictures. She was very responsive and answered all my questions. Her dog has also been a great playmate for our puppy, so they get lots of energy out too.”

“They were fantastic with my dog! She went for two days and was very excited to go back the second day. Would highly recommend and will be rebooking in the future :) Thank you!”

“Silvana took incredible care of my very anxious dog. He typically has separation anxiety and takes a while to get use to a new place, but she made him feel comfortable right away. She took him on walks, took him to the park to play with another dog he felt comfortable with, and made sure I was updated throughout the day with pictures and videos. When I went to pick him up he gave her kisses goodbye :) We absolutely will re-book with Silvana. Thank you, Silvana, for taking such great care of Jackson!”

About: Hi, I'm Kathryn! I’m an experienced, compassionate pet sitter offering personalized care, daily dog walks, and overnight stays. I work from home full-time as a journalist, which means your pup will have constant companionship, plenty of belly rubs, and lots of love. My passion for animals runs deep—I grew up at my mom’s dog daycare, where I was immersed in dog behavior training and care from an early age. We had labs growing up, and some of my favorite memories are of taking them on long adventures in the woods. These days, my partner and I share our home with our sweet shepherd mix, Ozzy. I’ve spent the last eight years caring for dogs while I lived all over the country. This is my first time on Rover, and I’m excited to build meaningful relationships with both pets and their people. I believe pet care should be accessible—not overpriced—so I strive to offer affordable, high-quality service that gives you peace of mind. We live in a beautiful, pet-friendly apartment with a secure back courtyard and quick access to local parks for playtime and walks. Your pet will be treated like family—safe, loved, and happy while you're away. For boarding and daycare requests, I will be joined by my own dog Ozzy. If your dog prefers not to be around a young dog, then it may not be a fit. Looking forward to connecting! As a journalist who works from home, I’m lucky to have a flexible schedule—and I love using it to give animals the attention, care, and fun they deserve. With tenderness, love, and dedicated attention, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable environment tailored to your pet’s unique needs. I can’t wait to meet your wonderful companion and make them feel right at home!
“We're so glad we found someone like Crystal to take care of our 12-week old pup while we're out and about. She's super responsive, sends updates with pics, and we know that our puppy is well taken care of. She comes home exhausted, and is really excited to see Crystal every time we drop her off. You can entrust the care of your dog to Crystal with your eyes closed.”

“Best sitter we've ever encountered for our dog with many needs for her happiness. Well she came home so happy and better yet tired from all the walks which takes a lot. He kept sending us photos of her so we knew she was having a great time. He really understood our dog for not only the needs but her wants. So lucky to have found him.”

I cannot recommend Jesse&Kimmy highly enough! I reached out just a few days before my trip to Palo Alto during which I needed care for my 2 pets, and they were incredibly responsive. The booking process was seamless, and the communication was very easy and they made sure that my fur babies stayed happy. I truly appreciate their help!
Mara was amazing! We were traveling for a wedding, and our dog who is typically great being left alone was barking in the hotel. We found Mara and asked if she could care for our dog for 6 hours while we were at the wedding. The wedding ending up getting delayed and the transport back was an hour + late, and Mara was understanding, kind, and relaxed. We had a stress free evening, as she sent photos of our dog being fed, walked, going to the bathroom, and resting. She was patient and understanding and kind. We would highly recommend!
Five stars for Raina! This 10 year old has a remarkable gift for animal care. She and her father Mel provided excellent care for our dog Rani over the weekend. What stood out most was Raina’s genuine passion for dogs and her sensitive, attentive approach. Rani returned home calm and happy, and was eager to see Raina and Mel the very next weekend. That level of comfort and trust is best environment we would have asked for. Raina’s caring nature and natural ability with animals make her an outstanding dog sitter. We feel confident leaving our dog with her and the family!
This was the first time my little Havanese stayed with someone on Rover and she warmed up nicely to the hospitable environment with Stacey, her adult daughter and the other friendly little dogs. Thank you for making her first visit so safe, fun and easy. I really appreciate the numerous photos and the video I received. It helps so much to feel at ease knowing she is enjoying her visit.

I was nervous leaving my sweet but fearful GSD with anyone. Ying was very comfortable with Anderson. She sent me many updates, pictures and videos. Anderson played well with her GSD and Anderson slept for at least 90 minutes after we picked him up. He is an adolescent with a ton of energy so that was great! He’s going to be so excited to see Ying and Charlie again!

Teilyn and her wife are absolutely wonderful sweet people and I was so happy to find them on Rover. They have such a lovely backyard area for pups and were great with my 5 month old husky puppy, Yermo. And their two little Chinese Cresteds are awesome! Yermo came home absolutely wiped out (a godsend) and I got check-ins and photos of him helping with gardening and also out at his first protest (so proud). Really thankful for the new experiences and socialization for my puppy and to find great pup sitters.

Sjofn is always excited to get to see Guilherme! I’m always thrilled to know she is safe and happy. Guilherme is also great about communicating before and during her stay so I know exactly when to expect him and he’s great about picking her up to. To put my mind at ease he sends plenty of pictures of her having a good time. I admit as a service dog she can be a bit nervous about being left with other people but she is never nervous about staying with Guilherme and Edina. I highly recommend him for any care your pet needs

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Stanford commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
