We have used Renz several different times and he’s always been great! Pepper loves he and his partner and their sweeeeet dog, Whiskey. Renz is very easy to coordinate with, follows all my instructions, troubleshoots intelligently, is skilled in obedience training, and seems to really enjoy learning Pepper’s needs. He has access to a variety of dog parks and trails, including agility structures, so I know Pepper is always going to have fun and be stimulated. Highly recommend!

During Bogey’s stay, she was very communicative and sent lots of photos of all the fun activities. Bogey looked like he had a great time and was so content when I picked him up. Pouneh is wonderful! From the beginning, she responded to my messages right away. We did an initial meet and greet at the local park. Nana immediately took to her and her daughters! I knew Nana would be happy and in good hands. Drop off and pick ups: I need to do an early drop off and it’s been super smooth. It’s easy to park in front and get Nana out safely and since we arranged that I send my ETA, Pouneh was already waiting outside ready to take her. Picking her up was also super easy. I texted ETA and she had everything ready with Nana. Again, parking was easy and available in front. Pouneh is very experienced and patient with dogs. She also has extra supplies like bowls, blankets, towels, leashes, etc., making it easier with less things to lug around. Nana looked so relaxed and happy when I picked her up that first day and each day since. I am happy to recommend Pouneh to anyone for doggie care and I will for sure rebook whenever I need an extra hand. Lastly, props to Rover as well. This is a great service and I don’t know what I’d do without it. I’ve always found great people here with sometimes short notice.

About: I think animals are very special, and I can't imagine my life without them. I know how hard it is to leave them behind when traveling for extended periods of time, or even just out for the day, which is why you can trust in me to care for them 100%. As a plus, I absolutely love walking so having a partner to take out with me would be a huge bonus! Whether it's a morning walk or a few nights of watching your fur baby, you can count on me to show up. I will follow any guidelines that are given to me in order to take the best care of your pet. I appreciate having notes written down and an opportunity to walk through any tasks or special requests you may have. Safety is my top priority! I currently have my own business (working remotely) and have a lot of flexibility in my schedule to cater to the needs of your pet! When caring for a pet in my home, safety, trust and environment are paramount. I will ensure my home is pet-proofed, removing any hazard that could pose risks to the animal. I will establish a secure and comfortable space where the pet can sleep, play and eat without stress. Building trust with your dog is also crucial and achieved through consistent, gentle interaction and positive reinforcement.

About: Hi, I'm Lexi! I'm a registered nurse from south Louisiana, currently working a travel contract here in the Bay Area. Taking care of people is what I do for a living, and dogs have had my heart even longer. I grew up surrounded by dogs and my parents have four back home, so I'm comfortable with a full house, big personalities, and everything from the anxious ones to the ones who think they're lap dogs at 80 pounds. On my last few contracts, I've cared for several doctors' pets while they traveled. Overnight stays, feeding schedules, medications, walks, and plenty of couch time. I'm detail-oriented by training, so I'll follow your instructions exactly and send photo updates so you're never wondering how things are going. Caring for something someone loves is a real responsibility, and it's one I take seriously. I'd love to do that for you and your dog. I work Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5, and I'm free every weekend. I can board or house sit any time outside of those work hours. Weeknight overnights and full weekends both work well. During the week I'm also available for early morning and evening walks, drop-ins, and feedings before and after work. I live nearby with a fully fenced backyard, so there's plenty of room to get outside and play. My schedule is set and predictable, so once we book, you can count on me being there. At my place, your dog has a fully fenced backyard to run in and free rein of the house. No crating unless that's what they're used to and you'd prefer it. I check the gate and fence line before letting anyone out, and dogs stay leashed anytime we're beyond the yard, no matter how good their recall is. In your home, I follow your routine exactly as you've laid it out. Feeding times, walk routes, which doors stay closed, and any quirks I should know about. I ask a lot of questions up front so nothing is left to guesswork. I'm comfortable giving medications and I pay close attention to how a dog is acting; if something seems off, you'll hear from me right away rather than after the fact. I leave the space the way I found it and send photo updates throughout so you always know how things are going.

About: I have grown up around dogs my whole life. I am well-versed in walking large and stubborn dogs such as Newfoundlands and Great Pyrenees. I have been a parent to Wells, a very high-energy Vizsla, for 5 years now. We did all our training ourselves and successfully trained a great loose-leash walker. I am eager to help other dogs learn this skill as well! I am working locums, so I am gone for 4 days twice a month and otherwise home and available the rest of the month. Open for walks and visits all day! If your dog is open to a play date, I have a very friendly, high-energy dog that would love to get his zoomies out with your pup. Open to going for long walks or nearby fenced-in dog parks.

Kylie was a wonderful dog sitter and took great care of our pup. He felt comfortable right away and came home happy and well cared for. We also loved that he got to spend time with Kylie’s sweet dog, Bluey, who is a great playmate and so friendly. Kylie’s home was perfect for dog sitting, with a fenced-in, grassy backyard that felt safe and fun for lots of outdoor play. We really appreciated the updates and knowing our dog was in such good hands. We would absolutely book with Kylie again and highly recommend her.

Karla is the best! I'm so grateful I found her... and my pups would say the same too! She was kind to offer a meet and greet before the actual doggy daycare day, and that made all the difference. Of course they loved her right away so no issues there :) You can tell she loves dogs and that she takes her job seriously. She is excellent with communication prior to, during the pups' visit, and before pickup. And she's personable, friendly and professional. I also loved getting the occasional picture during the day!

I felt very good leaving Kody in Yi and her husband’s warm and capable care. My anxious pup was quickly put at ease and settled in. Yi sent lots of photo updates and Kody seemed to be having a great time - playing, getting belly rubs, going on multiple walks, etc. I would not hesitate to recommend Yi.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Woodside commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 5,224 sitters in Woodside, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
