“My puppy loves visiting Dalia! When we pull up, she jumps out of the car and runs to the door with excitement. Dalia always makes sure my puppy gets a good walk and a nap in, and she comes home in a great mood.”

“Chelsea is wonderful! She hosted my pup Ollie for daycare and sent cute photos of him having a blast along the way. She’s also very responsive, kind, and accommodating. Would highly recommend!”

“Pouneh is wonderful! From the beginning, she responded to my messages right away. We did an initial meet and greet at the local park. Nana immediately took to her and her daughters! I knew Nana would be happy and in good hands. Drop off and pick ups: I need to do an early drop off and it’s been super smooth. It’s easy to park in front and get Nana out safely and since we arranged that I send my ETA, Pouneh was already waiting outside ready to take her. Picking her up was also super easy. I texted ETA and she had everything ready with Nana. Again, parking was easy and available in front. Pouneh is very experienced and patient with dogs. She also has extra supplies like bowls, blankets, towels, leashes, etc., making it easier with less things to lug around. Nana looked so relaxed and happy when I picked her up that first day and each day since. I am happy to recommend Pouneh to anyone for doggie care and I will for sure rebook whenever I need an extra hand. Lastly, props to Rover as well. This is a great service and I don’t know what I’d do without it. I’ve always found great people here with sometimes short notice.”

About: I have a wide range of experience from raising a puppy to handling reactive dogs. I’m good at basic obedience training and trick training. In fact many of my friends will come to me when she need advice on obedience training or dog calming methods. I’m currently working from home so my schedule is pretty flexible for potty breaks, play times, and walks. Depending on how comfortable you are with your dog, I can take your furbaby for long walks or to dog parks. I live in a townhouse with a small fenced yard. I have a 35lbs Australian Shepherd who would love to say hi and play with your dog.
“Stacey was so wonderful with our dog Perrin!! Perrin had a great day and seemed to love Stacey and her yard! We loved seeing all the photos throughout the day too 🐶 Thank you so much!!”

About: Growing up, I have owned my own dogs and taken care of family and friend’s dogs pretty frequently! I have experience with dogs of various personality types and truly love being around all kinds of animals. I have experience volunteering at animal shelters and have frequently taken dogs out on day trips to expose them to more of the outside world. I am responsible, reliable, caring, flexible, and have a calm personality. Overall, I really want to be there to help out the people in my community with caring for their pets. I am currently working part time and have a lot of free time to care for your pets and give them the enrichment that they need! I am open to walking, dropping in to play, or watching them for extended time in my own home! I have a fenced in backyard where your pets can play safely and have all the room to run around and explore! I value keeping spaces organized and want to ensure that the people I pet sit for can trust me with taking great care of both their living space and animals!
“Barbara watched my 5 month old Shih zhu puppy Lucy for a week and she was great. She took her on walks, played, and best of all sent us constant pics and updates. By day two Lucy was already excited when I dropped her off. I could tell she was in good hands and I wouldn’t definitely want Barbara to watch Lucy again.”
About: I’m a dog mom to Pepper, my 9-year-old rescue, so I understand how much trust it takes to leave your furry baby with someone else. I’ve cared for friends’ pets for years, and I also have foster experience — I cared for an 18-year-old senior dog for 9 months until he found his forever home:). I’m calm, patient, and attentive to each pet’s personality, whether they need a slow walk, playtime, senior care, cuddles, or quiet company. I’ll treat your pet like my own and send updates so you can feel relaxed while you’re away. We work from home, so pet care fits naturally into our daily routine. We usually do a morning walk, some playtime in our private driveway around lunchtime, and an evening walk or park time. On very hot days, we avoid walking in the middle of the afternoon and prefer safe playtime in our shaded/private driveway instead. We live in a townhouse with a long private driveway, a nearby dog park, and several dog-friendly parks in the neighborhood. It’s a very dog-friendly area, and many of the neighborhood dogs already know and get along with our rescue dog, Pepper. At home, I focus on a calm, safe environment with supervision, patience, and care based on each dog’s personality and comfort level.
“Keli and Greg have been so wonderful to Brisket and he loves coming to their house! Keli is super communicative and sends lot of cute pics throughout the day, and I know Brisket loves going on hikes with her. They are amazing sitters and we highly recommended them!”

“Michelle/Dani (and Bambi) were great! Our dog Kewpie loved his day with them and they did a really wonderful job keeping us updated through the day. We got tons of pics/videos & he came back a very happy boy. Highly recommend Michelle/Dani if you're looking for a caring environment for your pup & we'll definitely book again in the future!”

“Susanne was great with our dogs. This was our first time with doggie day care. Susanne made us all feel reassured and comfortable. She is incredibly attentive and conscientious. We got many messages from her throughout the day. The pups seemed happy and content when we came to get them.”

Our dog Buster spent the day with Ben and Allison and had a great time! They were super responsive and accommodating, and it's always nice to know your dog is in good hands with someone that truly enjoys dogsitting. He was a happy camper when we picked him up!

The absolute best! Sarah is a miracle worker. 🌟 I cannot recommend Sarah enough! My dog, Hotpot, a Shiba Inu, is definitely not the easiest pup to handle. He has historically struggled with resource guarding and gets highly agitated around food. I was naturally nervous about leaving him, but Sarah managed him with so much patience, care, and expertise. Under her care, Hotpot has made incredible progress: • Better Manners: He is now way more patient, especially around meal times. • Socialization: He actually learned how to play and peacefully coexist with other dogs! Seeing him thrive and grow under her care was the best feeling. If you want a sitter who genuinely cares and knows how to handle complex dog behaviors, Sarah is the one!
Kristen, Michael, the two little ones and their pup were absolutely wonderful for me and my pup! I was so appreciative for them to approve a last minute request and truly got so lucky! There’s a wonderful fenced front yard and back yard and my fur baby immediately felt at home and enjoyed walks, lots of play, and even cuddles. So thankful ❤️

Bradley took such amazing care of Zeus today! He came home so happy and completely worn out from the long walks, which says everything about the attention and exercise he got. It’s clear Bradley really cares and goes above and beyond. I felt totally at ease knowing Zeus was in such great hands—highly recommend!

Alexandra and her family are amazing with our corgi Olive. She has been going for daycare and always comes back happy and tired after a long day of playing. We love all of the photo updates that Alexandra sends throughout the day. She is kind and a great communicator!

Julissa took excellent care of our dog, Sopita. Although our dog is a bit shy, Julissa did a great job at making her feel comfortable and enjoy her time at daycare. She also shared pictures of her settling in and on a walk which put us at ease. Would definitely recommend!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
