About: I've taken care of small dogs and large dogs since I was in middle school. I enjoy playing with dogs, giving them lots of hugs and pets, and taking them on excursions, whether it be to the dog park, beach, or a scenic hiking trail. I work part-time from home so I am able to spend lots of time with the fur babies in my care. I love to take them out for fresh air and exercise, and give them lots of love, pets, and attention. I have a fenced, grassy backyard and a friendly labrador retriever named Sadie who is very sweet and playful and loves having other dogs to play with. We have a doggie door so the pups have day and night access to the backyard to run around and do their business. I can easily crate your dog if that is something you prefer.
“Sarah was wonderful with my dog, super attentive and clearly cared a lot. She took him out on hikes and kept me updated with plenty of photos, which I really appreciated. He came back happy and relaxed. Would happily book with her again.”

“Nina and Leo took great care of Nana! We had a great meet and greet. While they were watching her they provided tons of photos and updates. She was in great hands! We will definitely request them again the next time we need a sitter.”

“Levi had a great time staying with Guillermo and Siobhan. This couple really loves dogs. Their resident dog Maisie was a wonderful buddy for Levi and their large shaded yard provided a nice environment to run around and stay cool.”

“Karla was a fantastic sitter! She sent lots of photos and checked in daily. She always asked before giving my dog any new foods or treats. Would 100% leave my baby with her again. Thanks Karla!”

“Pouneh was wonderful with Huichol. She clearly picked up on his personality quickly, he's smart and energetic and needs both stimulation and affection, and she delivered on all fronts. He came home happy and well-loved. Would book again without hesitation.”

“Shannon was absolutely wonderful with Dobby. I was able to relax on my vacation knowing my dog was having a vacation of his own with Apollo. She gave frequent updates with plenty of photos and was very communicative during the stay. I couldn’t recommend her enough.”

“Deborah is amazing!! Snoopy was taken on a lot of walks. She was kind to him. She fell in love with him and it made the whole experience. It’s just absolutely amazing from the very beginning. I would highly recommend her. She is a very caring person and you can tell she loves animals.”

“Alissa was very attentive to Percy and kept us updated throughout the stay. Percy was acting a bit out of character when he first came to visit and was barking a lot. Alissa took many steps to manage his unusual behavior and kept me updated along the way. I was very appreciative that she was patient with him. He was very comfortable and happy with Alissa and I would definitely recommend her.”

“Janet and her family took great care of our dog Olive! Janet was responsive and sent frequent updates. Olive loved playing with her daughter and her dog Shasta. We would highly recommend!”

“This was Yogi’s first time away from home, and Cynthia made sure he was well cared for. She sent us lots of updates (which we requested) and Yogi looked so happy the whole time. We weren’t sure how he’d do since we only adopted him a few months ago, but he seemed to have such a great time! Would book again!”

About: I’ve owned dogs my entire life (at one point we had 5 at time!) love taking them for long walks, teaching them new tricks like weave (and handstand!), and engaging their minds with agility. My senior dog recently passed and while I am not ready to get a new dog just yet, I miss having a dog so want to occasionally dog sit to help others out with their dogs before getting another dog of my own. I work full time but occasionally work from home. For this reason, Thursday to Sunday or Monday is best for me. I am active and love going on walks, hikes, and runs in and around the beautiful Portola Valley neighborhood. I love to hang on the couch and snuggle in the evenings! Dogs (non shedding) allowed on the bed :) My large backyard is fenced. My husband Dave and I often are asked by friends to help train their dogs because we love to help and are good at it! :)
About: As a fellow dog parent, I know just how important it is to find someone who'll love your pup like their own. I've learned so much from raising my sweet Cavapoo over the past 4 years - including navigating separation anxiety and training challenges with help from the awesome folks at Cali K9 and Zoom Room. All these experiences have made me a patient, understanding caregiver who knows every dog is uniquely special. Your furry friend will have a blast joining us for adventures in our local parks and trails, where we keep tails wagging with plenty of fun and positive reinforcement. I've had the joy of caring for many pups with different personalities, and I always make sure each one feels safe, happy, and right at home with us. Let's give your dog the loving attention they deserve! I'm thrilled to share what a typical day would look like for your pup! I've marked my calendar to show the days I'm home and fully available to focus on caring for your dog. Since I work from home on these days, I'm here to give your furry friend lots of attention and care. We follow a fun routine that includes at least three energetic walks daily, plus plenty of playtime with our collection of toys to keep everyone happy and engaged! I do pop out briefly for my gym sessions, but I'll always keep you in the loop about my schedule. Your dog will never feel lonely - they'll be right by my side throughout the day, getting all the love and attention they deserve! I maintain a clean, pet-proofed apartment where your furry friend can relax without any worries. For bedtime, I have a dedicated crate in the study where my dog sleeps, and I have an extra crate available if your pup is crate-trained - though they're also welcome to find their comfy spot anywhere in the apartment! Safety is my top priority, so I take extra precautions like always keeping doors securely locked and making sure the apartment is tidy and free of anything that could be harmful. When we head out for walks in our quiet, safe neighborhood, your pup will always be properly leashed, and I even use special light-up collars for our evening strolls. You can rest easy knowing your dog is in a secure, peaceful environment with someone who takes their safety seriously
“Tillana is a rockstar dog care provider. Tillana sent me continuous updates and pictures of my dog and I knew he was getting the love, care, and lots of exercise he needs as a 4 year old high energy Cavapoo. Tillana is a gem and a wonderful person too. I’m so glad I found her and look forward to having her watch my Charlie and create more fun memories with Tillana in the future.”

“Matthew and Katelyn were wonderful hosts for Desta. Their quick responses and clear communication made me feel confident that Desta was well cared for. I’d definitely book with them again.”

“Martina and her family are fabulous sitters! We got lots of updates and photos and the boys were so well behaved when we picked them up. We could tell they gave them lots of attention and walks and they were very happy during their stay. Strongly recommend!”

“Nicole was so amazing! We last minute needed someone for boarding and Nicole was able to do a meet and greet and then take Bear. She sent pictures and videos and Bear seemed happier than ever. Nicole made sure to help Bear adjust and see that he was comfortable the entire time. Would definitely book with Nicole again!”

“I had an pawsome experience with Ruo during Tyler’s stay. She kept me updated with walks, Tyler’s mood and pictures after initial meet and greet. She shows great care for my son. Really appreciate being flexible last minute and take good good care of Tyler. Would definitely rebook and recommend her!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Woodside
Liliane is fantastic. She took such good care of our girls. We have two very distinct personalities and both dogs were well cared for and happy. She sends photos and lets you know how everything is going. I would highly recommend her and will use her for all our future doggy care!

We asked Siobhan and Guillermo to watch out two dogs for a weekend. This was the first time away from home for one of our dogs since her adoption. They both did well. Right after arrival at their house, my dogs started to enjoy the scent of different dogs in their fenced yard under the redwood trees. It was like going to a dog park and socializing with different dogs. At pick up time, we asked Siobhan and Guillermo if they can care for them again on our next trip away from home.

Margareth is an absolutely wonderful host! She took such loving care of our Dudu during her stay. Since we don’t have a US driver’s license, she and her mom kindly went out of their way to pick Dudu up and drop her back home. She kept us updated regularly with sweet messages and videos, so we always knew Dudu was happy and safe. We truly appreciate everything she did for our pup. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, caring pet host, you can’t go wrong with Margareth — your furry friend will be in the very best hands.
Kylie is a fantastic dog sitter. She took care of our two dogs over the holidays while we were out of town, and we felt completely at ease the entire time. She has a stunning home in a lovely neighborhood with a spacious backyard where the dogs could play and relax. She regularly sent us updates with goofy photos of our pups playing with her dog, as well as sweet pictures of them cuddling with the family in bed. She was attentive to their health and well-being, even going the extra mile when one of our dogs wasn’t eating and giving him extra care and comfort. We would absolutely book with her again.

Karmyn took good care of our senior dog and followed the care instructions we provided. Our dog came home healthy, and we appreciate that she was available to take her over the holidays. That said, the communication did not match our expectations, especially given the premium $250/night rate. Our original holiday sitter canceled a month before our trip, so we booked Karmyn based on her Rover profile stating she was “happy to send photos/updates as desired,” and her in-person reassurance that she would provide frequent updates. This was important because our dog is 16 years old and we were traveling for 10 days. By day three we asked if she could send 3–4 photos throughout day. She responded on WhatsApp, “Oh that’s a bit much. Normally I check in once every few days. Happy to send daily updates. She is doing well.” Despite explaining our need for reassurance for our senior dog, updates were indeed daily but remained inconsistent with some days 1–2 photos, others 3–4. We do not believe our request was unreasonable, given Karmyn advertised sending updates “as desired” on her profile, this was communicated in advance, and our dog is a senior. Despite paying more than double the typical local rate, we felt like we had to cater to her communication preferences. Overall, the care itself was good. Karmyn was also willing to take our dog for more time when our flight was cancelled (but we had a friend pick our dog up). But there was a mismatch between expectations and follow-through on communication.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
