“Karla is an amazing dog sitter!!! She's very conscientious and compassionate! Sable, my 8 month old Schnauzer puppy, loves her too! Recently, I needed a dog sitter on short notice. I was impressed with Karla at our meet n' greet so I contacted her via the Rover app. She promptly responded to my booking request & thankfully had space for my canine cutie! Karla sent pics and updates on how Sable was doing. Sable can be finicky about her kibble thus needs coaxing to eat. Well, Karla remedied that by mixing in some extra yummy wet food & treats! When I picked up Sable, I could tell that she was happy and was treated like a puppy princess! ;-) Furthermore, my hubby & I were able to work on a few home projects together without a puppy underfoot for a few days! About: Growing up, I have owned my own dogs and taken care of family and friend’s dogs pretty frequently! I have experience with dogs of various personality types and truly love being around all kinds of animals. I have experience volunteering at animal shelters and have frequently taken dogs out on day trips to expose them to more of the outside world. I am responsible, reliable, caring, flexible, and have a calm personality. Overall, I really want to be there to help out the people in my community with caring for their pets. I am currently working part time and have a lot of free time to care for your pets and give them the enrichment that they need! I am open to walking, dropping in to play, or watching them for extended time in my own home! I have a fenced in backyard where your pets can play safely and have all the room to run around and explore! About: Dogs have been a big part of our lives. We adopted Bruno, our beloved Labrador Retriever, with whom we spent 11 years until he fought bravely with cancer but could not win. Bruno socialized me to his friends like Mastiffs, German Shepherds, Corgis, Golden Retrievers and many more and helped me understand that each dog, irrespective of his breed, has a unique personality and temperament. Thus, please do tell us about your dogs unique traits and his phobias so that we can make him feel at home. This is important for us to know as dogs undergo huge stress to be away from their home. After Bruno passed away, we adopted Rex, Labrador Retriever, who has helped us heal and made us realize how important dogs are in our lives! Both, me and my wife WFH and have flexible working schedule. So one of us will be at home to take care of the pack. We have Rex, a Labrador Retreiver, who goes on walks 2x times a day for 2-3 miles everyday. If the dog is staying with us, based on his needs, he can join us on our walks. Plus, we have a fully fenced backyard for dogs to play and run freely. Often, we take break from our work and play with our dog in the backyard or go for a small 5-10 min walk outside our home. For everyone’s safety, the dog should get along with kids and other dogs. Please let us know if there are any health issues and/or food allergies. My wife and I have experience caring for senior dogs, and both of us are comfortable administering medications as needed.

Right after arrival at their house, my dogs started to enjoy the scent of different dogs in their fenced yard under the redwood trees. Margareth is an absolutely wonderful host! She took such loving care of our Dudu during her stay. Since we don’t have a US driver’s license, she and her mom kindly went out of their way to pick Dudu up and drop her back home. Kylie is a fantastic dog sitter. She took care of our two dogs over the holidays while we were out of town, and we felt completely at ease the entire time. She has a stunning home in a lovely neighborhood with a spacious backyard where the dogs could play and relax. She regularly sent us updates with goofy photos of our pups playing with her dog, as well as sweet pictures of them cuddling with the family in bed. She was attentive to their health and well-being, even going the extra mile when one of our dogs wasn’t eating and giving him extra care and comfort. We would absolutely book with her again.
Karmyn took good care of our senior dog and followed the care instructions we provided. Our dog came home healthy, and we appreciate that she was available to take her over the holidays. That said, the communication did not match our expectations, especially given the premium $250/night rate. Our original holiday sitter canceled a month before our trip, so we booked Karmyn based on her Rover profile stating she was “happy to send photos/updates as desired,” and her in-person reassurance that she would provide frequent updates. This was important because our dog is 16 years old and we were traveling for 10 days. By day three we asked if she could send 3–4 photos throughout day. She responded on WhatsApp, “Oh that’s a bit much. Normally I check in once every few days. Happy to send daily updates. She is doing well.” Despite explaining our need for reassurance for our senior dog, updates were indeed daily but remained inconsistent with some days 1–2 photos, others 3–4. We do not believe our request was unreasonable, given Karmyn advertised sending updates “as desired” on her profile, this was communicated in advance, and our dog is a senior. Despite paying more than double the typical local rate, we felt like we had to cater to her communication preferences. Overall, the care itself was good. Karmyn was also willing to take our dog for more time when our flight was cancelled (but we had a friend pick our dog up). But there was a mismatch between expectations and follow-through on communication.
