“I can’t recommend Sarah enough as a dog sitter. My dog, Teddy, absolutely loves staying with her—he gets genuinely excited every time he realizes he’s going back, which says everything. What I appreciate most is how incredibly detailed and consistent her updates are. Every day, she sends multiple photos and videos—Teddy eating, playing, going on walks, and even updates on how he’s doing overall. She keeps me fully informed, down to small but important details, so I never have to wonder how he’s doing. It gives me real peace of mind knowing exactly how his day is going. It’s also clear that she truly cares about the dogs she looks after. She takes Teddy on walks, to the dog park, and even on hikes, making sure he stays active and happy. On top of that, her home environment is wonderful—her two dogs and her cat are all very friendly, and Teddy gets along great with them. He’s not just being watched; he’s having a great time. Whenever Teddy stays with Sarah, I know he’s safe, well cared for, and genuinely happy. I fully trust her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive dog sitter.”

About: As a fellow dog parent, I know just how important it is to find someone who'll love your pup like their own. I've learned so much from having my Cavapoo over the past 5 years - including navigating separation anxiety and training challenges with help from the awesome folks at Cali K9 and Zoom Room. All these experiences have made me a patient, understanding caregiver who knows every dog is uniquely special. Your furry friend will have a blast joining us for adventures in our local parks and trails, where we keep tails wagging with plenty of fun and positive reinforcement. I've had the joy of caring for many pups with different personalities, and I always make sure each one feels safe, happy, and right at home with us. Let's give your dog the loving attention they deserve! I'm thrilled to share what a typical day would look like for your pup! I've marked my calendar to show the days I'm home and fully available to focus on caring for your dog. Since I work from home on these days, I'm here to give your furry friend lots of attention and care. We follow a fun routine that includes at least three energetic walks daily, plus plenty of playtime with our collection of toys to keep everyone happy and engaged! I do pop out briefly for my gym sessions, but I'll always keep you in the loop about my schedule. Your dog will never feel lonely - they'll be right by my side throughout the day, getting all the love and attention they deserve! I maintain a clean, pet-proofed apartment where your furry friend can relax without any worries. For bedtime, I have a dedicated crate in the study where my dog sleeps, and I have an extra crate available if your pup is crate-trained - though they're also welcome to find their comfy spot anywhere in the apartment! Safety is my top priority, so I take extra precautions like always keeping doors securely locked and making sure the apartment is tidy and free of anything that could be harmful. When we head out for walks in our quiet, safe neighborhood, your pup will always be properly leashed, and I even use special light-up collars for our evening strolls. You can rest easy knowing your dog is in a secure, peaceful environment with someone who takes their safety seriously
“We left our Dog(Riley) with Karla twice now and she took great care of her!! She is awesome with her communication and was very responsive when we had any questions or needed any updates. Since Riley has some allergies, she took extra care and gollowed all our instructions for fo followed all given instructions with great detail. When your lil pup is with Karla you can be sure”

“Nina and Leo did a wonderful job taking care of our dog. This was our first time using Rover and boarding our rescue, who is sensitive, anxious, and can be reactive towards other dogs during walks and meeting new people. They were great in providing daily updates on how our dog was doing, and the daily pictures eased our concerns during our trip. After the first update, we weren’t nervous anymore knowing that our dog was in the best care. They followed our care instructions well and we were happy to see our shy rescue quickly adapt to his temporary environment. Thank you Nina and Leo!”

“Siobhan and Guillermo took great care of Chutney - they shared some pics from her stay, and she came home tired which is always a good sign! We have already booked with them again and plan to use continuously in the future.”

“Shannon was absolutely wonderful with Dobby. I was able to relax on my vacation knowing my dog was having a vacation of his own with Apollo. She gave frequent updates with plenty of photos and was very communicative during the stay. I couldn’t recommend her enough.”

“Alissa was very attentive to Percy and kept us updated throughout the stay. Percy was acting a bit out of character when he first came to visit and was barking a lot. Alissa took many steps to manage his unusual behavior and kept me updated along the way. I was very appreciative that she was patient with him. He was very comfortable and happy with Alissa and I would definitely recommend her.”

“I recently had the pleasure of having Gifu look after my Golden Retriever, Maya, while I was away on vacation and I would definitely recommend him to watch my pup again. He took the time to understand Maya’s routine, dietary needs, and preferences, ensuring that she felt comfortable and well-cared for. He provided updates, which reassured me that Maya was in great hands. Maya was happy and healthy when I returned so I recommend Gifu to anyone in need of a reliable, caring, and attentive dog sitter. He exceeded all my expectations and made my time away stress-free knowing that Maya was receiving the best care.”

“Deborah did a fantastic job caring for my little guy, Boba. As it's my first time using Rover, she shared consistent updates with photos/videos, which put my mind at ease. She went above and beyond, took him on walks/parks, and made Boba feel well cared for and happy. Boba had the time of his life under Deborah's care.”

“Our dog Shasta had a great time with Ava while we were out of town. She took her on lots of walks and provided pictures of her stay. She has a great yard and lots of room for our dog to have fun.”

“I cannot recommend Tillana enough! She recently took care of our dogs, and the level of service was absolutely outstanding. One of our dogs needed regular medication, and she handled it flawlessly, giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. We loved receiving her regular updates and photos—it really showed how much she genuinely cares about the animals in her custody. To top it all off, she even reached out a day after the dogs came home just to check in and see how they were settling back in. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Tillana, for treating our pups like family!”

“Thank you for taking lycan last min . Nichole was very sweet we did a meet and greet which was great brought me to peace knowing my pet was in good care . She did keep me updated with videos of my sweet boy. Definitely will be coming back with her . Thank you”

“Ruo was an amazing dog sitter for my little pup! She had him for 5 days while we were away and I could tell he was super happy and well loved. She was great about keeping me updated on his day and sending pictures which I really appreciated. Honestly I think she is the best sitter we have ever had! Highly recommend and we will absolutely use her again.”

“India had a wonderful visit with Olga and her family. She was loved, walked and cuddled. I received lots of photos and videos and felt completely assured India was in good hands. I loved that India had access to her yard, dog park and lots of walks. I am absolutely going to rebook Olga for India. I feel completely lucky to find Olga, she is a gem, thoughtful, responsible and naturally an animal person.”

About: I’ve owned dogs my entire life (at one point we had 5 at time!) love taking them for long walks, teaching them new tricks like weave (and handstand!), and engaging their minds with agility. My senior dog recently passed and while I am not ready to get a new dog just yet, I miss having a dog so want to occasionally dog sit to help others out with their dogs before getting another dog of my own. I work full time but occasionally work from home. For this reason, Thursday to Sunday or Monday is best for me. I am active and love going on walks, hikes, and runs in and around the beautiful Portola Valley neighborhood. I love to hang on the couch and snuggle in the evenings! Dogs (non shedding) allowed on the bed :) My large backyard is fenced. My husband Dave and I often are asked by friends to help train their dogs because we love to help and are good at it! :)
“This was Yogi’s first time away from home, and Cynthia made sure he was well cared for. She sent us lots of updates (which we requested) and Yogi looked so happy the whole time. We weren’t sure how he’d do since we only adopted him a few months ago, but he seemed to have such a great time! Would book again!”

“James and Jasmine are hands-down the best dog sitters we’ve ever used. They are incredibly professional and took the time to understand Toby’s specific routine and needs. It was clear from the start that they genuinely love dogs and treated our Toby as their own. They were super reliable and kept us up to date with Toby's activities and sent us daily pix -- they truly went above and beyond to make sure Toby was comfortable and happy. We will definitely be booking them again! Thanks again guys!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Woodside
Karla watched Ginger, our nervous and shy chihuahua mix, for 10 days while we were in Korea. Our original plan with relatives fell through last minute, so we were relieved to find someone trustworthy so close by. Karla understood Ginger's personality and gave her the attention she needed, and she has a nice side yard where Ginger could sunbathe and explore during the day. She sent us photos throughout the trip to let us know Ginger was doing well, and she was easy to communicate with and flexible. In the end, we came home to a happy, healthy dog, which says it all. 5 stars, would absolutely book again.
We asked Siobhan and Guillermo to watch out two dogs for a weekend. This was the first time away from home for one of our dogs since her adoption. They both did well. Right after arrival at their house, my dogs started to enjoy the scent of different dogs in their fenced yard under the redwood trees. It was like going to a dog park and socializing with different dogs. At pick up time, we asked Siobhan and Guillermo if they can care for them again on our next trip away from home.

Margareth is an absolutely wonderful host! She took such loving care of our Dudu during her stay. Since we don’t have a US driver’s license, she and her mom kindly went out of their way to pick Dudu up and drop her back home. She kept us updated regularly with sweet messages and videos, so we always knew Dudu was happy and safe. We truly appreciate everything she did for our pup. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, caring pet host, you can’t go wrong with Margareth — your furry friend will be in the very best hands.
Kylie is a fantastic dog sitter. She took care of our two dogs over the holidays while we were out of town, and we felt completely at ease the entire time. She has a stunning home in a lovely neighborhood with a spacious backyard where the dogs could play and relax. She regularly sent us updates with goofy photos of our pups playing with her dog, as well as sweet pictures of them cuddling with the family in bed. She was attentive to their health and well-being, even going the extra mile when one of our dogs wasn’t eating and giving him extra care and comfort. We would absolutely book with her again.

Karmyn took good care of our senior dog and followed the care instructions we provided. Our dog came home healthy, and we appreciate that she was available to take her over the holidays. That said, the communication did not match our expectations, especially given the premium $250/night rate. Our original holiday sitter canceled a month before our trip, so we booked Karmyn based on her Rover profile stating she was “happy to send photos/updates as desired,” and her in-person reassurance that she would provide frequent updates. This was important because our dog is 16 years old and we were traveling for 10 days. By day three we asked if she could send 3–4 photos throughout day. She responded on WhatsApp, “Oh that’s a bit much. Normally I check in once every few days. Happy to send daily updates. She is doing well.” Despite explaining our need for reassurance for our senior dog, updates were indeed daily but remained inconsistent with some days 1–2 photos, others 3–4. We do not believe our request was unreasonable, given Karmyn advertised sending updates “as desired” on her profile, this was communicated in advance, and our dog is a senior. Despite paying more than double the typical local rate, we felt like we had to cater to her communication preferences. Overall, the care itself was good. Karmyn was also willing to take our dog for more time when our flight was cancelled (but we had a friend pick our dog up). But there was a mismatch between expectations and follow-through on communication.
