“Micheal clearly really likes dogs! He took good care of Nimbus over the holidays. It was easy to arrange drop off and pick up times and Michael helped Nimbus get settled in right away. He provided photos and videos during the stay. I would book with Michael again.”

“Nina and Leo sent me multiple pictures and updates through out Lady’s stay. I’m always Worried about leaving my dog with a sitter but Lady seemed relaxed and happy. They are such a lovely and nice couple. I recommend them and will contact them again for my next vacation! Thank you Nina and Leo!”

“Tillana was a lifesaver for our last-minute trip. She took amazing care of our dog and made sure he got all the love and exercise he needs. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. It was also so nice to get those daily pictures, highly recommend!”

“Katherine was incredibly attentive to our senior dog and made him feel at home! We are grateful for her many updates and great communication, and we know our dog would love to stay with her again!”

“Svetlana was great! Our dog was loved and cared for, and I would not hesitate to leave her again in such good hands. I appreciated the daily updates and pictures of walks, play, and lounging at home. Svetlana was super responsive to all of my questions and was such a nice person to interact with. The overall experience was fantastic.”

“They were both so awesome and helpful. Extremely organized, they had a checklist to make it easier to be sure that everything was packed. They went above and beyond, grooming my long haired poodle, giving her a cute bandana and a packet of goodies. Ana, my dog, had a great time, and I can't say enough good things.”

About: I’ve owned dogs my entire life (at one point we had 5 at time!) love taking them for long walks, teaching them new tricks like weave (and handstand!), and engaging their minds with agility. My senior dog recently passed and while I am not ready to get a new dog just yet, I miss having a dog so want to occasionally dog sit to help others out with their dogs before getting another dog of my own. I work full time but occasionally work from home. For this reason, Thursday to Sunday or Monday is best for me. I am active and love going on walks, hikes, and runs in and around the beautiful Portola Valley neighborhood. I love to hang on the couch and snuggle in the evenings! Dogs (non shedding) allowed on the bed :) My large backyard is fenced. My husband Dave and I often are asked by friends to help train their dogs because we love to help and are good at it! :)
“Lucky had a wonderful time staying at Sein’s home! She took great care of her and kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos of Lucky’s daily life, along with detailed summaries of her routine—meals, playtime, and potty breaks. This really put our minds at ease while we were away. Sein was also very responsive and always quick to answer any questions or concerns. Lucky clearly enjoyed her stay, especially spending time with the other dogs and cats. We truly appreciate her care and will definitely bring Lucky back again in the future!”

“Peanut had his trial day with Shannon today and everything went great. She took wonderful care of him, kept us updated with lots of photos, and made us feel very comfortable the whole time. We could see that he was happy and well cared for. We will definitely book with her again in the future”

“Pouneh was absolutely wonderful with our dog! He was so excited to see her and was treated so well the whole weekend he stayed with her! I really appreciated the excellent and prompt communication too!”

“Yet again, Margaret provided a safe and comfortable environment for my pups over the weekend. She's patient and clear with them as they settle into a new environment and was very skilled at working with the more nervous of my two dogs. I received regular updates and pics, and was pleased to hear that they had fun playing with the resident dogs! They came home tired, happy and fulfilled and I will definitely be booking Margaret again to care for my dogs!”

“This was our first time leaving our 13 month old dog with a sitter and it went great! Charlotte was very kind and assured me right away that she was well equipped to handle Theo. She sent lots of pictures and videos each day that we were away, followed our feeding and care instructions, and gave him a ton of exercise. He seemed very happy and we were so glad he was in such good hands while we were away!”

“Katie and Jason were amazing hosts for Apollo! They were really sweet with him and very communicative, which was super helpful. I’m sure Apollo would love to stay with them again!”

“I’m so glad we chose to leave Phoebe with Joyce and her family. She was attentive and thorough, making sure she understood Phoebe’s needs, and she kept us updated throughout the weekend. I would absolutely book with Joyce again and highly recommend her for your dog-sitting needs.”

“It was our very first experience with rover.com and Karla made sure that Shurik was well taken care of. He is a shy dog, but got out of his shell pretty quickly with Karla. Our communication was excellent, and Karla sent a lot of pictures of him. Would definitely rebook with Karla and highly recommend her!”

“Alissa took good care of Kody and sent us photos daily during his 5-day stay. We could see that he was being well cared for, taken on daily walks, and happy and that gave us lots of peace of mind. I would not hesitate to recommend Alissa.”

“Ivan was so good to Toko and Arya while I was gone! They're both small dogs who are reserved around new people and new dogs. Toko came to him with a broken foot and a bunch of built up anxiety since he couldn't exercise, while Arya has way too much energy. He was very careful to make sure Toko stayed comfortable and couldn't injure himself, but also took Arya on several long adventures. Ivan sent me many great photos and daily updates of the pups while I was on vacation, which greatly reduced my own anxiety over them staying over! I could tell they had a great time, and I won't hesitate to book Ivan again!”

“Aleksei and Galina stepped in to take care of Dasher at the last minute during a difficult situation. They were extremely helpful, thoughtful, and took great care of Dasher. Communication was easy and they provided lots of pictures and updates. I would definitely place Dasher with Aleksei and Galina again.”

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
