Pet care experience
Palo Alto Dog Walker & Sitter
Dogs have been part of my life since I was 10. I've cared for everything from toy breeds to large breeds, and neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me for years to walk, feed, play with, and check in on their pets. Every size and energy level is welcome here, including puppies and senior dogs, and I'm happy to give oral medications on schedule (I don't administer injections). Safety comes first: dogs stay leashed on walks, your instructions get followed to the letter, and I make a point of knowing where the nearest emergency vet is. My afternoons are flexible, which makes me a great fit for midday and after-work walks and drop-in visits. You'll hear from me on every single visit - photos, our GPS-tracked route, distance covered, and notes on how your dog did, because I'd want that same peace of mind. Let's set up a quick Meet & Greet so your pup and I can get acquainted first.

Ratings and reviews
I highly recommend Avery as a pet sitter! Avery looked after my poodle, Daisy, when I was on vacation and I couldn’t have been happier with the care and attention Avery gave her. I find Avery caring, responsible, and simply wonderful with dogs. Avery also kept me regularly updated on how Daisy was doing while I was away. I can confidently say that Avery truly cares about the pets he looks after, and I would have no hesitation trusting him with Daisy again. I would also highly recommend Avery to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and responsible pet sitter.
I engaged Avery to take care of my golden retriever Rex during several of my outstation trips the past few years. Avery loves dogs and he bonded immediately with Rex. I think the feeling was mutual. Rex was well cared for and was always healthy and upbeat on my return. My house was kept in good order. Avery was responsible for walks, feeding, playing and general care of Rex. Avery kept me updated regularly on Rex. I never had to worry about a thing. I highly recommend Avery as a dog companion.
As an experienced dog owner, Avery is naturally attentive and familiar with what dogs need to stay happy and healthy. Pets absolutely adore his warm, adventurous energy! He brings a reliable, can-do attitude to everything he does, and I highly recommend him.
Avery is an exceptional dog-sitter and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pet. I engaged Avery to look after my retriever, Buddy, and he immediately showed a natural instinct and genuine connection with dogs. Avery is compassionate, reliable, and attentive, and it was clear that Buddy was happy and well-cared for in his hands. He also provides excellent customer service, keeping us reassured and confident that Buddy was safe, comfortable and in good hands. It’s not always easy leaving your dog with someone else, but Avery gave us complete peace of mind. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and would happily have him look after Buddy again!
Avery has cared for my dogs before, and I can confidently say that he is a genuinely compassionate and dog-friendly person. He has a natural empathy and understanding toward dogs and he treats them with patience, kindness and love. I always felt that my dogs were safe, comfortable and well cared for in his hands. Avery is also reliable, attentive and provides excellent customer service and communication. I would happily recommend him to anyone looking for someone who truly loves dogs and will care for them as if they were his own.
Avery is extremely responsible and loving to our pets. He has taken care of our dogs and treats them like his own. He is one of those people where dogs are just attracted to. He spends time with them on the floors, giving them great walks, teaching them tricks with snacks. He is very punctual with feeding times. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a responsible caretaker.

Schedule
My afternoons are flexible, so weekday middays and after-work hours are when I'm most available for walks and drop-in visits, and weekends are wide open. I keep my Rover calendar updated daily and reply to messages within minutes. For regular clients, I'm glad to hold a standing weekly slot on the same days and times each week so your dog's routine stays predictable.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Most of my care happens in your home, so respecting your space comes first. Written instructions get followed exactly, doors and gates stay secured, everything is left the way I found it, and your address and entry details are never shared with anyone. On walks, dogs stay leashed the entire time, I stick to routes I know well, bring water on warm days, and check paws and coat afterward. Before the first visit I make sure I have your vet's contact information and the location of the nearest emergency clinic. After every visit you'll get photos and a written recap, so you always know exactly how your dog is doing.
A typical day
Walks start with a calm hello and a minute to settle, then we head out on a leashed route I know well - 30 or 60 minutes at your dog's pace, with plenty of sniff time, water on warm days, and potty stops noted. Drop-in visits mean fresh food and water, a potty break, a game of fetch or tug, and a good cuddle before I lock up behind me. Daycare days alternate between yard play, a midday walk, and real rest in a small group, so nobody gets overstimulated. Every service ends the same way: photos, the GPS-tracked route or a written recap, and notes on how your dog did.

- Before the first visit, tell me your dog's feeding schedule and any food sensitivities, medication timing (I give oral medications, not injections), their collar or harness setup, and how they react to other dogs, bikes, skateboards, and strangers on walks. It also helps to know about recall, any door-dashing or escape-artist habits, favorite games, crate or resting preferences, and your vet's name and number. If your dog is anxious, reactive, senior, or a young puppy, share what has worked before and what to avoid - I follow your instructions exactly rather than improvising. Current vaccination records are required for daycare, and a Meet and Greet beforehand always helps.
