About: Dogs have been an important part of my life for more than 30 years. I’ve raised and cared for dogs from puppyhood through their senior years, including two Labrador Retrievers and a Labradoodle. My second Labrador was a Guide Dog in training who ultimately left the program due to potential physical issues. After she passed away, I became a volunteer with a local Guide Dogs for the Blind puppy-raising club and am an authorized puppy sitter. Through this experience, I’ve cared for puppies in training and understand the importance of consistency, patience, following training guidelines, and paying close attention to a dog’s behavior and needs. I also have extensive experience caring for senior dogs, including dogs requiring special diets, medication, and additional attention. I’m comfortable adapting to different routines and providing individualized care based on each dog’s needs. I’m also familiar with the general grooming and routine care that dogs need, including brushing, nail care, teeth brushing, and basic coat trimming. Most importantly, I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for. I work from home, so I have a flexible schedule that allows me to fit pet care into my day. While I do have occasional work meetings, I'm able to plan walks, visits, and other care around them. My evenings are generally free, and I have additional flexibility on weekends. I enjoy having a reason to step away from my desk during the day and spend some time with a dog or cat. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I follow each owner's instructions closely and make sure their pet's normal routine is maintained as much as possible, including feeding, medications, walks, and other special needs. I’m attentive to doors, gates, and other potential escape routes, and I make sure pets are supervised appropriately when outside. I’m also respectful of my client’s home and understand that I’m being trusted with more than just their pet. I’ll keep things clean and secure and communicate with the owner if anything unusual comes up.

About: Local to Menlo Oaks, I’ve taken care of my cute beagle Bean for the last 9 years, and would love to help you out as well! I’ve just graduated from my Masters and I’m in between jobs, so I’m very flexible with taking care of your pups and their needs. I am super detail oriented, careful, but also friendly, so I’ll make sure your dog feels comfortable and cared for whenever I come around.

“I can't say enough good things about Anna! She arrived on time and jumped right in to playing with Louie. She took him for a walk, played with him in the yard, and gave him a much-needed rest time. I know these things because she sent me pictures when I was away. The house was clean when I got home, and my puppy was relaxed and happy! I would have Anna back in a heartbeat!”

“Nina and Leo took care of our cats, followed all the instructions and our cats were happy to have them even if they were sad from our absence. They were kind to the cats and did a great job at looking after them. My older car never eats in someone else's hands besides mine, even my husband cannot hand feed her, but Nina was able to do so which means my cat really trusted Nina, which is a really good sign ! I would definitely recommend Nina and Leo !”

“Julia was great! She went above and beyond for our cats. She went above the call of duty and really made sure our cats were well cared for. We very much appreciated all that she did for us and our little ones. We would definitely hire her again!”

About: I have grown up around dogs my whole life. I am well-versed in walking large and stubborn dogs such as Newfoundlands and Great Pyrenees. I have been a parent to Wells, a very high-energy Vizsla, for 5 years now. We did all our training ourselves and successfully trained a great loose-leash walker. I am eager to help other dogs learn this skill as well! I am working locums, so I am gone for 4 days twice a month and otherwise home and available the rest of the month. Open for walks and visits all day! If your dog is open to a play date, I have a very friendly, high-energy dog that would love to get his zoomies out with your pup. Open to going for long walks or nearby fenced-in dog parks.
“Alexa was responsible and detailed oriented. I booked a drop in visit and came back home to a happy and fulfilled dog! She was also great at understanding my reactive puppy and keeping him safe. I would recommend her and also book her again.”

“Always amazing to have Danielle take care of my kitties. She is extremely detail oriented and willing to spend time to mingle with them. Plenty of pictures and updates with each visit. Will definitely use her service again and again.”

“Rachel was amazing with our cat, Jasper! She was communicative, thoughtful and clearly genuinely cares. Her updates were detailed and reassuring and she went above and beyond—bringing in mail, spending extra time, and even leaving a sweet handwritten note and photo. Jasper clearly adored her and we felt so at ease while away. Highly recommend and would absolutely book again!”

“What a dream Rover! Megan is so attentive, gave thorough check ins with adorable photos, and kept our active girl busy with neighborhood adventures. We can tell our dog really enjoys and trusts her — which makes all the difference while we’re away. Thank you Megan!!!”

About: I love animals and have hands-on experience caring for both cats and dogs. I cared for my own cat for 18 years, so I’m very comfortable with senior cats and understand the patience, attention, and gentle care they need. I’ve also pet sat for my neighbors’ cats and cared for a small senior dog while they were away. I know how important it is to follow routines, give medications if needed, and make sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their own home. I’m reliable, attentive, and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your pet loves to play, cuddle, or simply enjoys a calm companion, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love and personalized care while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and can dedicate time each day to providing attentive care for pets. I enjoy starting my mornings with walks and check-ins, and I’m available for feeding, playtime, litter box care, and companionship throughout the day. I make sure each pet’s routine is respected and that they receive the attention and love they need while their owners are away. I believe pets are happiest when they can stay in their familiar environment and keep their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication needs, walks, playtime, litter box care, and any special preferences. I take the time to make each pet feel comfortable and loved, whether they need an energetic play session, a relaxing cuddle, or simply a calm companion nearby. I also provide updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are safe and well cared for while they are away.
“I was nervous about finding a new person to watch out pets during travel, but I’m so glad I found Octavia! We came home to happy, relaxed pets and a clean place - I will definitely ask Octavia to take care is the fur fam again.”
About: I’ve always been around dogs and have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. 🐾❤️ I’m currently on a flexible summer schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care and their needs. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. In a client’s home, I’ll make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages. Since then, I've had the opportunity to care for both cats and dogs through repeat house-sitting and drop-in visits. About: I’ve always been surrounded by pets, growing up with both cats and dogs in my family. This constant companionship has given me a deep understanding and love for animals. I have specific experience with cats that have anxiety and aggressive behavior, learning to care for them with patience and understanding. While living in Batumi, Georgia, I volunteered to help stray dogs, feeding them and working to find them homes. This experience not only reinforced my passion for animal care but also equipped me with the skills to handle different pet behaviors and needs. I have an open schedule, so I’m available for daily walks and can stay with your pets at home for a couple of days if needed. I’m flexible and ready to fit pet care into my routine, ensuring your pets get the attention and care they need. I offer personalized care for pets both in clients' homes and during walks. At Home: - Feeding and Hydration: Ensure your pets have fresh food and water according to their schedule. - Companionship: Spend quality time playing and keeping them company to reduce anxiety. - Cleanliness: Maintain a clean environment by handling litter boxes, pet bedding, and any messes. - Medication: Administer medications as required. During Walks: - Exercise and Fun: Provide engaging walks tailored to your pet’s energy level and health needs. - Safety First: Always prioritize safety by using secure leashes and harnesses and being vigilant about surroundings. - Behavior Management: Handle any behavioral issues with patience and positive reinforcement techniques. I customize my services to meet the specific needs and routines of your pets, ensuring they are happy, healthy, and well-cared for.

Once again, Yifan was great with my cat Rhys! I appreciate her attention to detail and her thorough report cards! I enjoyed reading them each evening while away and seeing photos of Rhys. Thank you again Yifan for your thoughtful care of both Rhys and my place!

Rachel is amazing! She is really clued in to our cat’s well being and quirky habits. Her daily reports (including things she notices that are non-pet related, like houseplant watering needs) and attention to detail make us feel completely at ease while we are gone. She’s the absolute best!!!

I know these things because she sent me pictures when I was away. The house was clean when I got home, and my puppy was relaxed and happy! I would have Anna back in a heartbeat!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
