About: I have been around and cared for animals for as long as I can remember! In the past I have worked at a pet care and boarding facility for over four years and I have four pets of my own. Constantly being around animals has taught me a lot and I am committed to continue learning . I am comfortable handling any breed of dog, energy levels , and size. Older dogs that might need medication are also no problem. I am willing to adapt and learn how to best care for your animals. My biggest goal is building trust with and your fur baby and providing the best care possible. I currently work fully remote so my schedule is very flexible and I am available when needed! I can also be very flexible on the weekends and can accept last minute bookings. When taking care of your baby my biggest goal is to gain their trust and do all the fun things you would normally do. I would love the opportunity to take care of your pets and shower them with love. I work fully remote so my schedule is very flexible, especially after 5pm I can accept more bookings. On the weekends I am completely open and accept last minute bookings. When in your home, I would really enjoy playing your pets, taking them on walks, and anything that you recommend doing that you know they would really enjoy. Making sure they are comfortable and happy is my biggest priority.
About: I’ve walked dogs professionally and casually for friends and neighbors, and I’ve also fostered both dogs and cats, so I’m used to helping animals settle into new environments and routines. I also own large pets myself, so I’m very comfortable with bigger breeds, their energy, exercise needs, and handling. Whether it’s a high-energy dog who needs a good walk or a cat who just needs a calm, attentive presence, I know how to keep pets of all kinds happy and well cared for. I work part time, so I have flexible hours to fit pet care into my routine. I'm available most weekdays and weekends, and I can adjust my schedule for feeding, playtime, or check ins whenever your cat needs me. I can care for your cat in your home or mine, depending on what works best for you. My space is quiet and calm with no other pets or kids, so your cat can settle in without distractions. In your home, I follow your routines closely and keep things safe and familiar.

“Julia was wonderful! She dropped in to care for my 2 cats for three days. Her Rover cards were awesome with tons of pics and great feedback about her visit. Would definitely recommend!”

“Alexa did drop in visits on our cat for a long weekend, and we were very happy to have her do so. We returned to find our cat happy and the home in great condition. She was very thoughtful and attentive to our cat's needs and wants, and she gave great daily updates. I look forward to working with Alexa again!”

About: I love animals and have hands-on experience caring for both cats and dogs. I cared for my own cat for 18 years, so I’m very comfortable with senior cats and understand the patience, attention, and gentle care they need. I’ve also pet sat for my neighbors’ cats and cared for a small senior dog while they were away. I know how important it is to follow routines, give medications if needed, and make sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their own home. I’m reliable, attentive, and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your pet loves to play, cuddle, or simply enjoys a calm companion, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love and personalized care while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and can dedicate time each day to providing attentive care for pets. I enjoy starting my mornings with walks and check-ins, and I’m available for feeding, playtime, litter box care, and companionship throughout the day. I make sure each pet’s routine is respected and that they receive the attention and love they need while their owners are away. I believe pets are happiest when they can stay in their familiar environment and keep their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication needs, walks, playtime, litter box care, and any special preferences. I take the time to make each pet feel comfortable and loved, whether they need an energetic play session, a relaxing cuddle, or simply a calm companion nearby. I also provide updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are safe and well cared for while they are away.

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up my family always had dogs and I was trusted at a young age to feed, walk, and otherwise care for them (which included administering medication to dogs who were not always the most cooperative). I have also been riding horses competitively for over 20 years and was a member of the University of Georgia Division I Equestrian Team. Although I was surrounded by horses during my time in college, I desperately missed my family dogs and as a result started house and pet sitting for people in the Athens area. My junior year my roommate got a dog and I frequently chipped in to help with his care when she was out of town or had a particularly hectic schedule. After college I attended law school in Washington, DC where I continued to house and pet sit for my friends, other residents in my apartment building, and others in the community. I graduated from law school in May 2025 and have since moved back to the Bay Area (I grew up in Menlo Park) as I am in between professional opportunities. I have found that I have some extra time on my hands and so I thought I would get back to house and pet sitting, this time specifically through Rover. In the past I have always gotten clients through word of mouth, which is why my extensive experience is not necessarily reflected on my Rover profile. At this time I am house and pet sitting on a part time basis, but I have a lot of flexibility as most of my other daily commitments can be easily fulfilled from any location; this means that if you have a pet that prefers constant company I can easily work from your home so your pet can get everything they need. I feel comfortable administering medications and am used to feeding animals with more complicated diets/food regimes. I have experience caring for animals of all ages. I am responsible, trustworthy, communicative, detail oriented, and most importantly love animals, which means that you can be worry free while your pet is in my hands. I am also very neat and conscientious, so if I am staying at your home I will take very good care of your space and your plants (if necessary). At the moment I am house and pet sitting part time, but my schedule is quite flexible so I have quite a lot of availability. I can drop in for walks, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, cat litter cleanings, etc basically every day of the week any time before 7:00 pm. My one schedule restriction is a weekly appointment on Wednesdays from 3:00 - 4:00. I update my availability often and will make sure that any other schedule restrictions that come up are reflected on there for your convenience. When it comes to house and pet sitting that involves me staying at your home, I am available for that any day of the week. I can complete most of my other professional commitments (Monday - Friday) remotely from your home, so your pet would not have to be alone all day while I went to work. I am unfortunately not able to bring your pet to my home at this time, so all care would occur at (or around in the case of walking) your home. I will follow whatever instructions you provide regarding the care of your pet. I feel comfortable administering medication, managing complicated diets, and dealing with picky eaters (my dog is a very picky eater and I have learned a lot of tactics that work well for him and other dogs I have cared for). If your pet uses any sort of automatic feeder, litter box, etc I am a fast learner and feel confident that I would be able to work with most devices of this sort. I likely would generally walk your pet around your neighborhood, but if time permits and that is something you would like/feel comfortable with I am happy to take your pet to a local dog park, park, hike, etc. My dog loves playing with frisbees and balls, so if that is something your pet enjoys I would be more than happy to do that as well.
“Dawn has been taking care of my 12-week-old energetic and velociraptor GSP puppy, Zara, for the past two weeks. From the start, Dawn impressed me by taking the time to schedule a meet-up beforehand to get to know Zara and me. This thoughtful gesture made me feel confident in her abilities and reassured me that Zara was in great hands. Over the past two weeks, Dawn has been punctual and caring during her visits to my home. I highly recommend Dawn to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dog sitter.”

“My dogs can be a handful but from their very first introduction, they loved Octavia and she was so good with them! She's a lovely person and a great caretaker and I'm happy to have found someone I trust.”

“Morgan is our *go-to* when we’re traveling & our crew loves seeing her! Even our cat (who often doesn’t come out when we have guests) comes out to say hello & show her playful side when Morgan comes by. Always grateful to have Morgan care for them & will continue to have her come by when we need her.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs since I was in elementary school, and I currently own two labs. I’ve taken care of puppies and senior dogs—whether it be dog walking, general play, or feeding / caretaking. I’m a college student home for break so I have tons of free time - I’m available pretty much all hours of the day and weekend :) I’m unable to care for pets in my home (I have two dogs currently), but I’m more than happy to visit client’s homes as needed!

“Vivian is very responsive and took good care of out cats when we are away. She also took a lot of good pictures for our cats in the notes. I will strongly recommend Vivian to all nearby pet owners :)”

About: I’ve always been surrounded by pets, growing up with both cats and dogs in my family. This constant companionship has given me a deep understanding and love for animals. I have specific experience with cats that have anxiety and aggressive behavior, learning to care for them with patience and understanding. While living in Batumi, Georgia, I volunteered to help stray dogs, feeding them and working to find them homes. This experience not only reinforced my passion for animal care but also equipped me with the skills to handle different pet behaviors and needs. I have an open schedule, so I’m available for daily walks and can stay with your pets at home for a couple of days if needed. I’m flexible and ready to fit pet care into my routine, ensuring your pets get the attention and care they need. I offer personalized care for pets both in clients' homes and during walks. At Home: - Feeding and Hydration: Ensure your pets have fresh food and water according to their schedule. - Companionship: Spend quality time playing and keeping them company to reduce anxiety. - Cleanliness: Maintain a clean environment by handling litter boxes, pet bedding, and any messes. - Medication: Administer medications as required. During Walks: - Exercise and Fun: Provide engaging walks tailored to your pet’s energy level and health needs. - Safety First: Always prioritize safety by using secure leashes and harnesses and being vigilant about surroundings. - Behavior Management: Handle any behavioral issues with patience and positive reinforcement techniques. Rachel was absolutely wonderful with Benek. She was incredibly attentive, reliable, responsive, and professional throughout the entire time I have been away. She was always on time and sent thoughtful, detailed updates and plenty of photos after each visit, which gave me so much peace of mind. What I appreciated most was how genuinely caring she was with him. She paid attention to his routine, his eating, his litter box, and even the little things about his personality and preferences. She also made sure he had companionship and affection, not just the basic care. I could tell from her updates that she was really spending time with him and getting to know him. I felt completely comfortable having her care for Benek and my home, and I would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!

Julie Mae is the absolute BEST!! She always goes above and beyond for us and our sweet cat Kinsie. She sends lots of pictures, takes extra good care of her, gives her lots of cuddles and love while we’re gone, takes care of litter, food, and water, and even helps with trash/vacuum of the litter! We know Kinsie is always in such good hands with Julie Mae and she will always be our go to :)

Morgan took care of our two kittens for 2 weeks! It gave my husband and I so much peace of mind knowing that they were with her. She made sure they were well fed, clean, loved, and entertained while we were away. She was always very communicative and responsive. I could not recommend her enough.

Teagan took great care of our cat as always! His tail was so high up in the photos. You can tell he's always super happy to see Teagan. She was really observant and noticed his cat door had an issue and went out of her way to let us know. We really appreciate knowing he's well cared for while we're away!

Once again, Yifan was great with my cat Rhys! I appreciate her attention to detail and her thorough report cards! I enjoyed reading them each evening while away and seeing photos of Rhys. Thank you again Yifan for your thoughtful care of both Rhys and my place!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
