“Josh did a great job!! He made sure my dog got plenty of exercise, sent regular updates, and took great care of her! I would recommend him to anyone who needs their pet looked after”
“Cordigen has been wonderful at providing weekly visits for our puppy, Sammy, and our 8 year old dog, June. I can tell from the photos she sends that they have a great time with her on their 3x/week visits and really appreciate all the care she shows for them. Highly recommend!”

About: I have done short term pet sitting for my friends and neighbors, feeding their cats and dogs in the morning and night. I like to take the time to play with the pets too rather than being in and out. Personally, I have had 2 cats and 2 dogs and both my dogs are larger breeds. My golden lab was quite the trouble maker and I was present during his training, so I can say I will most likely be able to train walking etiquette for jumpy dogs. I have been around many animals from cats to sheep and they all took their time getting to know me, but in the end they all love me. I currently have no obligations so pet care would form my schedule. I can spend as much or as little time as you want with the critters! In my own home I have a fenced yard and easy outdoor access. I would go back and forth with the pet to make sure they are safe and seen and have adequate potty breaks. If the client wants the pet to remain in one spot I can make that happen as well.

About: I am a lifelong cat owner with plenty of dog-sitting and walking experience. I have experience with all ages of cats and dogs and am comfortable with most pet medical needs. I have recently moved to California and have yet to move into a FT job so I have plenty of time throughout the week to drop-in I always leave an environment better than I found it and understand that pet safety and security is the most important thing to pet parents. I have clear and consistent communication and have no problem giving reassurance and updates throughout the day.

“Gloria was very punctual and communicated extremely well with me. She was able to help me out last minute and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take care of their furry friends!”

“Tillana was fantastic to work with! She went above and beyond and did much more than we expected. We loved that she was very communicative and sent us lots of doggy photos. She was extremely thoughtful with our pup and we highly recommend her! Thank you Tillana!”

About: I have my own 7 year old corgi whom I love to take on social outings, and have always wanted to own a ranch to foster dogs and other animals. for now, this will do🤓 I enjoy popping in to see my friends’ dogs while they’re at work to take them out for potty breaks & play, and watching my friends’ dogs when they go on trips~ Currently on a 3 month LOA from my nursing job, but am planning on taking a break afterwards due to burnout. Because of that I’m flexible and able to adjust to whatever needs pets may have! Currently I wake up, walk Toast (my corgi), hangout with him for a bit and then run errands if there are any. I can then pop in for a drop in/walk elsewhere (and bring toast too possibly)! He’s an integral part of my life so he’s always involved if he can be! My husband is an anesthesia MD resident at Stanford so he’s often at the hospital with long hours — all that to say he’s not very high maintenance as well so I have more wiggle room with my schedule :) I love dogs, and will always treat yours like I treat mine :) Will leave Toast at home if your dog is not up for socializing, but can also bring Toast if your dog needs some doggie time.
About: I’ve grown up with Labrador Retrievers my whole life and got my very first puppy when I was 15. More recently, I brought home a French Bulldog, and it’s been such a joy watching him grow from a tiny puppy into the sweet, fun 1-year-old he is now! Having pets has always been a big part of my life, and I truly love caring for them I work from home so I am usually pretty available! I do have a lot of virtual calls so I cannot usually do last minute walks but can plan around my day! I am completely free after 3:30 PM everyday. I have a French bulldog who loves to play and spends a lot of his time cuddled up with us. We also have a huge patio that is fenced in and a dog area to let them roam around and play.
About: I’ve always been around dogs and have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. I also have experience caring for a dog with seizures, which taught me to stay calm, attentive, and responsive to a pet’s needs. I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. 🐾❤️ I’m currently on a flexible summer schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care and their needs. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. In a client’s home, I’ll make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages. I always treat both pets and homes with care and respect. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free experience while you’re away. 🐾❤️
“Danielle is calm and wonderful with Jax. He was re-homed in August and this was his first walk with a dog walker. He was a little anxious, but Danielle knew just how to comfort him. He seemed to miss her when she left, watching out the window after her for awhile after she left.”

“Octavia is amazing! Very communicative and knows how to handle dogs incredibly well. Her dog training experience is super key and nice to have. She's been able to help our dog already not react as strongly to other dogs passing by. She's definitely becoming out go to person to take care of our dog in San Jose.”

About: My experience is primarily with cats and dogs (in particular pit bulls and northern breeds including huskies), and aquariums (fresh, salt and reef), although I am happy to discuss sitting for households that include exotics such as reptiles or small pets. I am comfortable with high medical needs or multi-pet households due to my previous experience with multiple-cat homes and as an owner of two dogs and a cat myself. I only care for pets who are able to remain in their home environment (housesitting) because I feel that maintaining their usual routines and experience as much as possible when their humans are gone is critical to minimizing their stress. I work remotely as a freelancer, and during housesits, will not leave your pets alone except for essential errands lasting no more than two hours at a time, once a day. (For example, medical or dental appointments, checking on my own home and pets, running errands). For pets who suffer from separation anxiety, I may be able to offer continuous 24/7 coverage but this will need to be discussed. I feel that it's very important that client and sitter are a good fit for each other. While I am happy to work with households containing reactive pets or complex routines such as rotating dogs who do not always get along, I cannot accept jobs involving aggressive animals or those with a bite history. Pre-booking meet and greets are critical to making sure that we are on the same page and that both you and I have an understanding of what your pet's routine should be while you are gone. I provide daily updates via text, email, or messenger, and am available via phone or text 24/7 when you are away. For routine inquiries, please be aware that I do not check my messages between 9PM-8AM Pacific time.
“I highly recommend Ian! I was in a bind with my dog named Havoc and I needed a person to help care for him and walk him during the day. I reached out to Ian and immediately felt at ease! Ian has walked my dog several times for me and is always quick to communicate! I highly highly recommend Ian and will be booking walks in the future!”

This was our first time using Regina, and even though we weren’t able to meet beforehand, we felt surprisingly comfortable leaving our guy in her care! She was very responsive, sent updates and pictures (always helps put us ant ease!), and communicated well throughout. Rainier can sometimes be a puller and certainly over overexcitable at times— Regina seemed confident handling him, which we really appreciated. would definitely love to have her help again in future!

I would highly recommend Cameron to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and thoughtful dog walker! He has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He always posts cute photos of Oreo and takes him on nice, long walks. I come home to a happy, relaxed dog every day, and I have Cameron to thank for that!

Yu Chen is such a great friend for our pet Shadow. We are so lucky that we found Yu Chen. While we were away, she took shadow out for a long walk everyday for more than we agreed. She left me notes everyday regarding her time with Shadow. It was such a relief to know that our dog is in good hands. She is truly a dog lover! Don’t hesitate to let her take care of your paws. I will always recommend Yu Chen. Hope to see Yu Chen again soon.

Kim was professional and considerate from the moment we met. She walked my pup a few days while I was out of town, helping split care with my mom. Kim checked in ahead of the service, during with questions, and sent lots of pictures to clearly show what happened. When my pup was sick one day, Kim kindly cleaned up after her and sat with her instead of trying to push through with a walk. I felt so comfortable leaving my pup in her hands.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
