About: I've cared for my mini poodle, Cheerio, for the past six years - feeding him, taking him on long walks, giving him baths, and, of course, giving him endless belly rubs. I've also cared for my friends' pets and my neighbor's golden retriever. I'm experienced with some of the more challenging aspects of caring for a pet, like giving them their medications, managing more complex care and hygiene routines. I'm a student at an Ivy League university, and I'm currently interning at a financial services firm this summer. Caring for pets is something I truly enjoy, and I look forward to doing that during my Fridays and weekends this summer when I'm off from work! My internship is fully remote on Fridays, and my weekends are completely open for me to spend time with your pet! I look forward to giving your pet my undivided attention! I know that each pet has different needs, and I'm happy to be flexible in how I take care of your pet. I always enjoy engaging with pets throughout the day, taking them on walks around the neighborhood, feeding them regularly, and keeping them (and your house) clean/tidy. If you have any other preferences, please let me know and I'll be happy to include that in my care routine.

“Nina and Leo are the best sitters you could ever work with in the area. They are friendly, always on-time, and made sure my dog Migo had everything he needed on their drop-in visits. They took the extra mile in communicating with me when I had logistical issues with accessing my house. Migo was a very happy dog when I came home. Thank you, Nina and Leo!”

“Yu was so nice and gentle with my dog! She helped me give subcutaneous injections. I’m so thankful she was willing to help me, because I was having a hard time with it. I can tell she really likes dogs and enjoys spending time with them:)”

About: I have taken care of dogs/cats since I was 10 around my neighbourhood and for friends and families! I also grew up with dogs in my family I am currently home for the summer from college, until August 31st, I have tons of flexibility! I am happy to help out in the mornings and evenings/overnight stays. I care for the pets by making sure they get their needs as requested. Including walks for dogs and making sure they feel as seen as possible. I also care for cats as well.

“Vivian is very responsive and took good care of out cats when we are away. She also took a lot of good pictures for our cats in the notes. I will strongly recommend Vivian to all nearby pet owners :)”

“Danielle was wonderful with my two kitties! She played with them a lot, and they really warmed up to her in a short time (rare for one of them who is very shy). She took great care of them and was also detailed with her communication and took great pics which was very comforting to me while I was away from my kitties.”

About: I can provide loving leadership for your dog that is consistent and reliable. I love dogs but I’m not allowed to have pets where I live so I’m excited for the opportunity to help with your dog(s). I work full time from Monday-Friday in the office (9am-5:30pm) but if you’re in the Menlo Park area I can drop in during my lunch. I can go for morning and evening walks, along with trips to the dog park if you want to socialize your dog. My weekends are totally free so I have ample time to spend them to train, socialize and keep your dog company. Dogs need structure and a safe space to feel confident. With my own dog, she had a kennel and a dedicated space where she can decompress but also find ways to get energy out. I’d keep that same energy for all my clients! I’d foster a place of structure and training along with balancing play when it is time.
“Julia was wonderful! She dropped in to care for my 2 cats for three days. Her Rover cards were awesome with tons of pics and great feedback about her visit. Would definitely recommend!”

“Rachel was amazing taking care of my two kitties while we were away. She was always in communication and kept me updated on how they were doing with pictures and videos! I would highly recommend Rachel !”

“Justine is the best! She was flexible and kind, working with us when our plans changed on short notice. She's always wonderful with our kitty and shares detailed updates. She even went above and beyond to help us address a pest issue while we were away. Thank you, Justine!!”

“This was the second time Morgan watched my cats and I felt at peace with them in her care. Her communication is excellent. My very shy cat even warmed up to her! She’s fantastic.”

“Rachel was amazing with our cat, Jasper! She was communicative, thoughtful and clearly genuinely cares. Her updates were detailed and reassuring and she went above and beyond—bringing in mail, spending extra time, and even leaving a sweet handwritten note and photo. Jasper clearly adored her and we felt so at ease while away. Highly recommend and would absolutely book again!”

“Outstanding support and help with our 9-1/2 year old lab while we were out of town. Very attentive, gracious and caring in looking after our dog. Will absolutely use again if she is willing to watch Moose again.”

About: I grew up with dogs and hamsters as a kid, but my love for animals didn’t end there. I raised and trained two dogs from puppies to adult. I volunteered at the SPCA socializing cats. I adopted and raised cats from kitten to adult. I currently have a 15 yr old and two 2.5 yr old cats. I have helped dog sit and cat sit for friends over the years and fostered several litters of dogs and a few cats. I love animals and will ensure yours gets the attention, care and time they deserve. I’m currently a teacher on summer break . I’m traveling for some of June but around in July with low key plans around the area. I’d fit my plans around your fur baby’s needs. I will follow the needs you share of your pets and your expectations , and use my skillset to connect with your animals at the level they are comfortable with.
About: I've cared for and been around dogs my whole life. I'm a go to sitter for friends and coworkers. I have experience ranging from giant breed to small dogs. I'm available for boarding and dog walking on weekends. My weekly work schedule is too unpredictable for a dog of my own, so I'm looking forward to spending time with yours! I live in an apartment with wood floors and access to lots of green space in my surrounding area. As a general rule, I don't like taking dogs to parks as you never know how other dogs are socialized. Other than that, I'm happy to follow and rules and guidelines you set.

“Mia has been doing drop-in visits for my 9 week old French bulldog puppy. She is very reliable, communicative, and gives me updates/photo with each visit. The photo always shows she has fun playing with her! Will definitely continue to have Mia help with Scarlet. I recommend her as a Rover.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Menlo Park
I had a wonderful experience with Cordigan on Rover! She was incredibly communicative and professional throughout my trip, which gave me so much peace of mind. What really stood out was her attention to detail and the care she took with my cats. They are usually very shy and tend to get stressed when I’m away, but when I came home, they were calm, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. That honestly says everything. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and reliable pet sitter.

Savanna was once again very responsive and wonderful to work with. She is a great communicator and problem solver. It was so great of her to take care of ants that threatened my cat’s food access while I was away. I’m so grateful to have had someone trusted like Savanna look after Maxine.

Rachel took care of our two cats for 14 days. She was absolutely wonderful with them. She was able to connect to the cats right away, and even though they are usually shy and even hide from strangers, Rachel was able to get them to come out on the first day and took wonderful pictures of them sniffing her hands and eating. Rachel even took care of watering the plants and cleaning up around the bit of ants that the cat food attracted, as well as the cat poops and pees that our cats tend to leave around the house, and monitored how they were doing each day. We would definitely ask Rachel to come again.

Julia is the best! It was such a relief to know that she was taking care of my two cats. She was very reliable, flexible, and communicative. She was super on top of the schedule and helped me manage my short-term booking that I hadn’t requested correctly. On top of that, her love of animals and joy about taking care of my cats made such a big difference. I will definitely check Julia’s availability next time I go out of town!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
