About: I grew up with dogs and hamsters as a kid, but my love for animals didn’t end there. I raised and trained two dogs from puppies to adult. I volunteered at the SPCA socializing cats. I adopted and raised cats from kitten to adult. I currently have a 15 yr old and two 2.5 yr old cats. I have helped dog sit and cat sit for friends over the years and fostered several litters of dogs and a few cats. I love animals and will ensure yours gets the attention, care and time they deserve. I’m currently a teacher on summer break . I’m traveling for some of June but around in July with low key plans around the area. I’d fit my plans around your fur baby’s needs. I will follow the needs you share of your pets and your expectations , and use my skillset to connect with your animals at the level they are comfortable with.
About: I can provide loving leadership for your dog that is consistent and reliable. I love dogs but I’m not allowed to have pets where I live so I’m excited for the opportunity to help with your dog(s). I work full time from Monday-Friday in the office (9am-5:30pm) but if you’re in the Menlo Park area I can drop in during my lunch. I can go for morning and evening walks, along with trips to the dog park if you want to socialize your dog. My weekends are totally free so I have ample time to spend them to train, socialize and keep your dog company. Dogs need structure and a safe space to feel confident. With my own dog, she had a kennel and a dedicated space where she can decompress but also find ways to get energy out. I’d keep that same energy for all my clients! I’d foster a place of structure and training along with balancing play when it is time.
“Justine is the best! She was flexible and kind, working with us when our plans changed on short notice. She's always wonderful with our kitty and shares detailed updates. She even went above and beyond to help us address a pest issue while we were away. Thank you, Justine!!”

About: I've cared for my mini poodle, Cheerio, for the past six years - feeding him, taking him on long walks, giving him baths, and, of course, giving him endless belly rubs. I've also cared for my friends' pets and my neighbor's golden retriever. I'm experienced with some of the more challenging aspects of caring for a pet, like giving them their medications, managing more complex care and hygiene routines. I'm a student at an Ivy League university, and I'm currently interning at a financial services firm this summer. Caring for pets is something I truly enjoy, and I look forward to doing that during my Fridays and weekends this summer when I'm off from work! My internship is fully remote on Fridays, and my weekends are completely open for me to spend time with your pet! I look forward to giving your pet my undivided attention! I know that each pet has different needs, and I'm happy to be flexible in how I take care of your pet. I always enjoy engaging with pets throughout the day, taking them on walks around the neighborhood, feeding them regularly, and keeping them (and your house) clean/tidy. If you have any other preferences, please let me know and I'll be happy to include that in my care routine.
“Rachel takes amazing care of our kitty Lilly, who has some high needs and is not the easiest cat to care for. She leaves us detailed notes each day and so many adorable pictures! I know Lilly is in good hands when we need to travel.”

About: I’m a passionate dog lover with over 10 years of personal experience raising and caring for dogs of various breeds and sizes. Although I currently live in a rental that doesn't allow pets, I deeply miss the companionship of a furry friend. This is why I’ve decided to become a dog walker—to share my love and energy with your pets! My current schedule allows me plenty of time for pet care! I am also fully available on weekend mornings to provide your pups with the exercise and attention they need to start their day right. Since I work part-time, I can be very flexible and reliable for your furry friends. Safety is my top priority. When walking your dog, I am always alert to the surroundings and keep a firm grip on the leash to avoid any unexpected situations. I strictly follow your specific instructions regarding feeding, triggers, or favorite routes. I believe in clear communication and will provide you with frequent photo updates and detailed reports, so you can feel completely at ease knowing your pet is in responsible hands.
“Could not have asked for a better sitter! Julia did a fantastic job, sending lots pictures and giving our cat lots of love. Very trustworthy will definitely use Julia again anytime we travel!!”
“Danielle is a lovely person and a thoughtful pet sitter. She is extremely communicative and makes a huge effort to accommodate you and your pets. I will contact her for any pet needs I have in the future without hesitation!”

“Rachel was amazing taking care of my two kitties while we were away. She was always in communication and kept me updated on how they were doing with pictures and videos! I would highly recommend Rachel !”

About: I grew up raising three dogs and have experience caring for both indoor and outdoor dogs with different personalities and energy levels. I now have a dog of my own, Kylo Bear, a fully trained Goldendoodle/Aussie mix who keeps life fun and active. I’m extremely dedicated, detail-oriented, and truly love being around dogs. Because I work from home, I’m able to provide lots of attention, supervision, walks, playtime, and affection throughout the day. Kylo is very well trained, and I’m happy to help reinforce training, routines, and good habits during my time with your dog if that’s something you’d like incorporated. I understand how important routines, patience, and communication are when caring for someone else’s pet, and I’ll always make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether your pup loves being active or just wants cuddles and company, I’ll care for them like family. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine since I work from home. I structure my day around breaks for walks, playtime, feeding schedules, and outdoor time, so dogs are never left without attention or company for long periods. Having my own dog, Kylo Bear, already makes pet care part of my everyday life. He’s fully trained and well-behaved, and I’m used to incorporating walks, training reinforcement, and structured activity throughout the day. Outside of regular work hours, I love being active with dogs, taking them on longer walks or even jogs if they enjoy it. I’m flexible and able to adjust my schedule to match each dog’s needs, whether that means more exercise, more play, or a calmer environment. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and structured environment for every dog in my care. Because I work from home, dogs are supervised throughout the day and are rarely left alone for extended periods. I build my schedule around their needs, including regular walks, feeding routines, playtime, and rest. In my home, dogs are treated like part of the family. I make sure they have a comfortable, clean, and low-stress space where they can relax and feel secure. I’m attentive to each dog’s personality and energy level, and I adjust activity accordingly. Whether that means structured play, enrichment, or quiet downtime. Safety is always my top priority. Walks are done on leash, and I’m mindful of each dog’s behavior, triggers, and comfort level in different environments. I also follow any instructions closely and keep owners updated with communication and photos so they feel confident and connected while they’re away.
“Thien-Nha is absolutely wonderful and I’m so lucky to have found her. She’s reliable, responsive, and incredibly kind. Even my super shy kitty came out of hiding to say hello when Thien-Nha came over. I feel she really goes above and beyond for our pets and that is simply invaluable. Will definitely hire her again for our next trip.”

“We loved having Nina and Leo watch our two kitties. Another sitter cancelled last-minute, and Nina and Leo got back to me immediately to confirm their availability and interest. They listened to all our house quirks and concerns with the cats and did everything just as asked the whole time we were away. Such peace of mind to have awesome, kind people watching your pets. They also sent pics and videos of the kitties, which was so great, because you always miss them so much! Thank you, Nina and Leo!”

“Ian was so wonderful with my pups - they were timely, conscientious, communicative, sent tons of pictures and even did a couple dishes I had left in my sink! Truly felt my pups were in great hands with them.”

About: I have my own 7 year old corgi whom I love to take on social outings, and have always wanted to own a ranch to foster dogs and other animals. for now, this will do🤓 I enjoy popping in to see my friends’ dogs while they’re at work to take them out for potty breaks & play, and watching my friends’ dogs when they go on trips~ Currently on a 3 month LOA from my nursing job, but am planning on taking a break afterwards due to burnout. Because of that I’m flexible and able to adjust to whatever needs pets may have! Currently I wake up, walk Toast (my corgi), hangout with him for a bit and then run errands if there are any. I can then pop in for a drop in/walk elsewhere (and bring toast too possibly)! He’s an integral part of my life so he’s always involved if he can be! My husband is an anesthesia MD resident at Stanford so he’s often at the hospital with long hours — all that to say he’s not very high maintenance as well so I have more wiggle room with my schedule :) I love dogs, and will always treat yours like I treat mine :) Will leave Toast at home if your dog is not up for socializing, but can also bring Toast if your dog needs some doggie time.
About: I spoil the pets I care for. Your dog gets exercise and genuine companionship. Your cat gets a safe, entertaining environment where they’re actually the center of attention. I’ve loved my own Maltese Poodle for six years and my British Shorthair cat is basically my child, that’s the energy I bring. No rushing, no distractions. Just real care that makes your pet feel loved and comfortable while you’re away. I keep a flexible schedule and I’m selective about bookings so I can give your pet the attention they deserve. Weekdays, just give me 3 hours notice. Weekends, 24 hours ahead lets me plan properly. Your pet’s comfort and safety are everything to me! Every pet parent and pet is different, and I adapt to what works for you both. If you have a specific routine or instructions, I’ll follow them to a tee — I want your pet to feel safe and secure. Or if you’re more laid back, I’m totally happy to just give them love, attention, and great care. Either way, you can relax and actually enjoy your trip knowing your pet is in good hands. I’m clean, professional, and super communicative — you’ll get tons of photos and updates throughout, so you’re always in the loo
“Forrest and I are so happy to have had Trina drop in and spend time with him. She is a remarkable caregiver and her affection for dogs is undeniable. I did not have to worry about her professionalism (she kept to the scheduled appointment, showed up on time, did not leave the place in a mess, and appropriately engaged with my dog based on his interest and energy level). It’s hard to find someone who can connect with dogs as well as she does and we are excited to have her to sit for us again.”

“Outstanding support and help with our 9-1/2 year old lab while we were out of town. Very attentive, gracious and caring in looking after our dog. Will absolutely use again if she is willing to watch Moose again.”

Beatriz took fantastic care of my cat. She was willing to step in last minute to take care of him when I left town. She sent lots of photos, played with him a lot and asked good questions when he wasn't eating his normal amount of food. Would love to have her back!

Rachel was so sweet and took great care of my cat! She was very attentive to all care instructions and left detailed summaries every day, going above and beyond to have quality time and playtime together. She even left a sweet note and photo at the end of the stay. Thank you Rachel, I felt very secure knowing Fiadh was in good hands!

Tillana is seriously a cat whisperer. We have two cats who are usually wary around strangers but to our very pleasant surprise, they both quickly warmed up to her from the very first meeting!! I think it made a huge difference that she’s detail-oriented. Prior to the first visit, she asked a lot of questions about the cats’ personalities to be best prepared and really wowed us with her memory recall about our cats’ likes/dislikes during the first visit. During that visit, she came in with calm, gentle, friendly energy and our cats really responded positively to that. They immediately let her pet them and even gave her little licks!! They’ve never done that before to someone new! Every day she sent us beautiful, thoughtful updates that really made us feel at ease while we were away. Every update put big smiles on our faces and we felt so comfortable knowing that our fur babies were in such trustworthy, capable hands. Tillana is such a warm, kind-hearted person and I think it really shows through how receptive pets are towards her. We feel truly lucky to have found her and would absolutely recommend to her to anyone looking for exceptional, top-tier level of care.
Marilyn is the absolute best! We have a senior kitty named Zelda who is on a daily medication. Right before we left for an international trip we needed to find someone quickly who felt comfortable giving a senior kitty medication, but would also help give her the love and attention she needed while we were gone for an extra long trip. Marilyn had no fear and quickly picked up the task! Marilyn was very knowledgeable on the medication and found ways to help give Zelda the medication comfortably. She also sent us so many amazing photos and daily reports so I knew exactly how Zelda was doing. Marilyn is simply one of the best humans and we will definitely be booking again with her in the future!

Katelyn was absolutely incredible with my two cats! She did a fantastic job feeding and playing with them, and she sent tons of wonderful photo updates that totally put my mind at ease. On top of that, one of my kitties had a messy bathroom accident, and she went above and beyond to clean everything up.

Justine is the best! She was flexible and kind, working with us when our plans changed on short notice. She's always wonderful with our kitty and shares detailed updates. She even went above and beyond to help us address a pest issue while we were away. Thank you, Justine!!

Lauren came highly recommended by our regular pet sitter when she wasn’t available, and that recommendation stands true. Lauren is a great communicator, took great care of Chicken Nugget, and embraced his quirky personality. She also went above and beyond to keep our house clean and tidy. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her services in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
