“We reached out to Cordigen with a last-minute request, and she was incredibly accommodating, kind, and flexible from our very first messages and meeting. She immediately recognized that our pup needed support with calm greetings and was so thoughtful in how she approached her, speaking softly and offering gentle, kind reminders to Scout not to jump. Throughout the day, Cordigen was wonderfully communicative, sending photos and updates so we always knew how Scout was doing. She even played calming music on the TV and was happily playing with Scout in the backyard when I arrived home. At pickup, she gave a detailed rundown of the day, from bathroom breaks to how she helped Scout stay calm when she heard noises outside. We truly couldn’t be happier to have found Cordigen as a sitter and would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone looking for dog care, especially for dogs who may be a bit anxious or need extra help staying calm. Thank you, Cordigen!”

“I lucked out finding Ian on Rover. This was my first time leaving my dog overnight with someone I didn’t know and, from the very beginning, Ian made me feel at ease. They stayed at my home and took excellent care of my dog while I was away, sending me several pictures and updates every day.”

“Genevieve did a great job taking care of our 3 girls while we were out of town. She followed our instructions well and we truly felt comfortable knowing they were in good hands.”

“Victoria was fantastic with Piggy and Toast. She was kind, reliable, a great communicator, and sent us lovely photo updates while we were away. The dogs clearly adored her, and we came home to an incredibly tidy house. We’re so happy we found her and would absolutely book her again!”

“Audra is very responsible and caring not just with Emi but also with our home, she is very communicative and send us updates about our dog and Emi loves her. I would recommend Audra to anyone :)”

“Kimberly is absolutely amazing! She’s responsible, professional, and incredibly loving. This was my first time using Rover, and knowing John was in such good hands gave me so much peace of mind as an anxious dog parent. I will definitely book with her again!”

“Trina is very calm and kind and professional! My dog Pebbles was very timid and sometimes unfriendly on this first visit and Trina was very patient, gave Pebbles her space, and kept a very positive attitude. I appreciated her efforts and understanding!”

“Marion did a great job house sitting for a few days. She was very responsible and asked great questions during our meet and great. Would definitely trust her to take care of our house and cat again in the future.”

“Ja was a great communicator, sent lots of pics of our dog, and left our house in excellent condition. I felt particularly bad for not setting up our house code properly when we left, which had her stuck outside our house for a half hour, but she was gracious about it and loved on our dog. Thank you Ja for helping us out, and on short notice to boot!”

“Shalese is amazing! She made me feel super comfortable leaving my reactive dog for a few days and they got along so well! Will definitely book any time I need someone to watch my girl.”

“Maria was amazing!! Cannot recommend her enough. It was the first time my partner and I have ever had an overnight sitter and we were pretty anxious about the whole process. Maria made us both feel so confident that our rambunctious girls were in good care :) she went above and beyond and was excellent at communicating with us and sending photos throughout our stay!”

About: I have my own 7 year old corgi whom I love to take on social outings, and have always wanted to own a ranch to foster dogs and other animals. for now, this will do🤓 I enjoy popping in to see my friends’ dogs while they’re at work to take them out for potty breaks & play, and watching my friends’ dogs when they go on trips~ Currently on a 3 month LOA from my nursing job, but am planning on taking a break afterwards due to burnout. Because of that I’m flexible and able to adjust to whatever needs pets may have! Currently I wake up, walk Toast (my corgi), hangout with him for a bit and then run errands if there are any. I can then pop in for a drop in/walk elsewhere (and bring toast too possibly)! He’s an integral part of my life so he’s always involved if he can be! My husband is an anesthesia MD resident at Stanford so he’s often at the hospital with long hours — all that to say he’s not very high maintenance as well so I have more wiggle room with my schedule :) I love dogs, and will always treat yours like I treat mine :) Will leave Toast at home if your dog is not up for socializing, but can also bring Toast if your dog needs some doggie time.
About: I grew up raising three dogs and have experience caring for both indoor and outdoor dogs with different personalities and energy levels. I now have a dog of my own, Kylo Bear, a fully trained Goldendoodle/Aussie mix who keeps life fun and active. I’m extremely dedicated, detail-oriented, and truly love being around dogs. Because I work from home, I’m able to provide lots of attention, supervision, walks, playtime, and affection throughout the day. Kylo is very well trained, and I’m happy to help reinforce training, routines, and good habits during my time with your dog if that’s something you’d like incorporated. I understand how important routines, patience, and communication are when caring for someone else’s pet, and I’ll always make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether your pup loves being active or just wants cuddles and company, I’ll care for them like family. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine since I work from home. I structure my day around breaks for walks, playtime, feeding schedules, and outdoor time, so dogs are never left without attention or company for long periods. Having my own dog, Kylo Bear, already makes pet care part of my everyday life. He’s fully trained and well-behaved, and I’m used to incorporating walks, training reinforcement, and structured activity throughout the day. Outside of regular work hours, I love being active with dogs, taking them on longer walks or even jogs if they enjoy it. I’m flexible and able to adjust my schedule to match each dog’s needs, whether that means more exercise, more play, or a calmer environment. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and structured environment for every dog in my care. Because I work from home, dogs are supervised throughout the day and are rarely left alone for extended periods. I build my schedule around their needs, including regular walks, feeding routines, playtime, and rest. In my home, dogs are treated like part of the family. I make sure they have a comfortable, clean, and low-stress space where they can relax and feel secure. I’m attentive to each dog’s personality and energy level, and I adjust activity accordingly. Whether that means structured play, enrichment, or quiet downtime. Safety is always my top priority. Walks are done on leash, and I’m mindful of each dog’s behavior, triggers, and comfort level in different environments. I also follow any instructions closely and keep owners updated with communication and photos so they feel confident and connected while they’re away.
“He immediately got along with all of our dogs, and they sat next to him, he was playing with dogs and didn't mind the size of our dogs either. Very well-mannered, thoughtful, and great dog sitter - We will definitely ask him again!”

“MJ, with only a one day notice provided excellent house sitting services for my 2 year old German Shorthaired Pointer. Sherman is also a large and strong GSP and MJ handled him with such delicate and professional care. MJ went above and beyond to provide training, and improved Shermans leash aggression. I just can't say enough about how grateful I am that Rover has such quality people like MJ. I feel like I found my Rover. Can't wait to book again.”

“Zoe is absolutely amazing. A true professional and dog lover. She knows a lot about dogs and shared her knowledge with us. She is very polite and friendly. We are so grateful to her for taking care of our little pup. I highly recommend Zoe.”

“Guilherme took care of our dog and cat during the Christmas and new years holiday. He sent many updates with photos, helped bring the garbage bins inside and collect mail and left our home more organized than when we left. Highly recommend and definitely hope to use his services again when we travel. Thanks Guilherme!”

“Octavia is awesome. She house-sat for us for 2.5 days. It was the first time our dog had stayed without us and he is really anxious. Octavia kept working to get him comfortable, cooked for him, sent us updates constantly and was really flexible in adjusting things to keep him less anxious. Our go-to person for Dudley!”

“Angelica was so great with our 1 year old lab, bowie. She came two nights in a row to look after him and she was so attentive. She played with him and took him out on walks -- we were able to not worry while we were gone. Thank you Angelica!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Menlo Park
Emma looked after our house and, more particularly, our senior dog while we were away for two weeks. Emma provided regular updates and photos of our dog, which was great as it was the first time we had left her. Our dog was obviously very happy with Emma and seems quite disappointed to have been left behind with us. LOL. Emma left the house in perfect shape too.

What a wonderful experience for both my dog and I. Very attentive, detail oriented, and real care and effort put into her stay and caring for my dog. Great communication and shared many wonderful pictures and updates throughout the stay. Left my house looking better than I had left it. Would 💯 recommend and use again! She is wonderful

Vivian was absolutely wonderful with our pups! One of our dogs has anxiety, and Vivian was so patient, kind, and sweet with him. She sent thorough updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our dogs immediately felt comfortable with her, and she did an amazing job taking them on walks, playing with them, and giving them lots of snuggles. She also left our house even cleaner and more organized than when we left. We would highly recommend Vivian and would be so happy to have her watch our dogs again!

Alexa took excellent care of my cat while I was away. My cat has separation anxiety and can't be left alone. I needed someone at the last minute and she took the job. She communicated well, shared lots of cute pictures and videos, and I could tell my cat loved her. Would definitely hire her again!

Austin was phenomenal! Super communicative and helpful. I am so grateful for his excellent care of our 2 corgis. This was our first time using a sitter who wasn’t family, and Austin made the experience so easy from the initial meet and greet through the end of the sit. I will definitely book again the next time we travel!

Cardigen did an excellent job looking after our 2 dogs and our house while we were away for a week. She was very professional, detail oriented, and made sure the dogs got a lot of love and care. She sent us some pictures and kept us updated. We would definitely invite her back. Thank you!

Kendall is terrific. She cares and connected quickly with my pup. She is conscientious, offered to come and meet my dog before the visit. She asked questions about emergency plans, feeding, medications and her best schedule. She was tidy, punctual and helpful, even sending me photos and relaying my dogs attitude and energy level throughout her stay. I highly recommend Kendall - 5 stars!

Kimberly is absolutely amazing! I come back home to a very happy and healthy cat (and said cat is a very picky old lady!), and a tidy home - after getting super sweet videos all throughout my trip. She is the best!! It’s really easy to tell that she genuinely loves cats and goes the extra mile for them.

We had an excellent experience with Julie and would highly recommend her. Her communication was outstanding from start to finish, and we appreciated the daily photos and updates that kept us informed and reassured while we were away. Julie was punctual, dependable, and clearly cared for our dog as if it were her own. We also returned to a spotless home, which was such a wonderful bonus after traveling. We wouldn't hesitate to book with Julie again!

Korinne was fantastic. She took care of my kitty for 4 days and spent ample time with him, stayed the night, provided several updates a day and made me feel that he was well taken care of. Will definitely try to have her visit again in the future when I need help!

Jaya was super accomodating and flexible with the dates. My dog Mila was super comfortable with her. Jaya had excellent communication and took great pics, kept regular updates. I was able to travel with peace of mind, so I will continue booking with her again for sure!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Menlo Park on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 9,204 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Menlo Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Menlo Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Menlo Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Menlo Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Menlo Park. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
