“We reached out to Cordigen with a last-minute request, and she was incredibly accommodating, kind, and flexible from our very first messages and meeting. She immediately recognized that our pup needed support with calm greetings and was so thoughtful in how she approached her, speaking softly and offering gentle, kind reminders to Scout not to jump. Throughout the day, Cordigen was wonderfully communicative, sending photos and updates so we always knew how Scout was doing. She even played calming music on the TV and was happily playing with Scout in the backyard when I arrived home. At pickup, she gave a detailed rundown of the day, from bathroom breaks to how she helped Scout stay calm when she heard noises outside. We truly couldn’t be happier to have found Cordigen as a sitter and would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone looking for dog care, especially for dogs who may be a bit anxious or need extra help staying calm. Thank you, Cordigen!”

“We absolutely loved Genevieve, but more importantly, our little pups loved her. Genevieve is a fantastic communicator, clearly loves dogs, and was so respectful of our space, a calming presence for our girls who were wondering who this new person was in their habitat. We would have her come back anytime we weren't able to travel with the pups. My only hesitation in leaving a glowing review is that she won't be available for us because you will all want to book her.”

“Victoria was fantastic with Piggy and Toast. She was kind, reliable, a great communicator, and sent us lovely photo updates while we were away. The dogs clearly adored her, and we came home to an incredibly tidy house. We’re so happy we found her and would absolutely book her again!”

“Marion was wonderful! Our cats and home were well looked after. We felt confident being away, knowing that our kitties were being taken care of. Marion was communicative and followed all our instructions perfectly. Thank you so much, Marion, we'll definitely have her back!”

“Ian went above and beyond my expectations! They keys in regular communication so that I knew my pup was being well taken care of, and Ian sent spectacular photos too! They also kept my apartment tidy, even doing laundry and dishes. Thank you so much Ian!”

About: Hi, I’m Dawn and I have been a pet parent for over 25 years to rabbits, guinea pigs and 4 dogs with 2 of them of senior age. All 4 dogs were raised since they were puppies and they are currently based in my hometown with my parents when I moved here. My intuition and experience allow me to provide your pet with the best care and most comfortable environment away from home, so rest assured that they are in good hands. Let’s chat! I’m mostly available during weekdays from 7am to 12 midnight and certain weekends. Date and timings can be further discussed if you require my services. I have a balcony at home and have space available for your pet to roam around freely if needed. Happy to chat more to see what else you’ll require
“Kimberly is great- Emmy loves her! She makes traveling so much easier, and she takes adorable photos of Emmy with the zoomies, playing hide-and-seek, and curled up looking cozy. Couldn't be happier!”

About: I have my own 7 year old corgi whom I love to take on social outings, and have always wanted to own a ranch to foster dogs and other animals. for now, this will do🤓 I enjoy popping in to see my friends’ dogs while they’re at work to take them out for potty breaks & play, and watching my friends’ dogs when they go on trips~ Currently on a 3 month LOA from my nursing job, but am planning on taking a break afterwards due to burnout. Because of that I’m flexible and able to adjust to whatever needs pets may have! Currently I wake up, walk Toast (my corgi), hangout with him for a bit and then run errands if there are any. I can then pop in for a drop in/walk elsewhere (and bring toast too possibly)! He’s an integral part of my life so he’s always involved if he can be! My husband is an anesthesia MD resident at Stanford so he’s often at the hospital with long hours — all that to say he’s not very high maintenance as well so I have more wiggle room with my schedule :) I love dogs, and will always treat yours like I treat mine :) Will leave Toast at home if your dog is not up for socializing, but can also bring Toast if your dog needs some doggie time.
“Virginia was amazing with our dog, Lily! She was very communicative, sending updates and pictures throughout the stay. She also treated our home with care and respect. Would definitely have her back and recommend her to anybody as a sitter!”

“Octavia is awesome. She house-sat for us for 2.5 days. It was the first time our dog had stayed without us and he is really anxious. Octavia kept working to get him comfortable, cooked for him, sent us updates constantly and was really flexible in adjusting things to keep him less anxious. Our go-to person for Dudley!”

“Alexa took excellent care of my cat while I was away. My cat has separation anxiety and can't be left alone. I needed someone at the last minute and she took the job. She communicated well, shared lots of cute pictures and videos, and I could tell my cat loved her. Would definitely hire her again!”

“We’ll hire Alexander again! He was thankfully available relatively last minute before our vacation after our previous sitter fell through. He was communicative and shared updates and photos of happy, tired pups throughout the week.”

“Shalese was a perfect sitter for our dog, Bobo. She sent us daily pictures to keep us updated and even took him to a dog costume party we mentioned to her at our local park! I would highly recommend Shalese if you’re looking for a sitter. Bobo loved her so much and looked like he had a great time.”

“This was Akisha’s first sitting in this area and I will strongly recommend her for house sitting your beloved pets. She kept me informed me throughout via pictures and video messages and took a great care of my dog and the house.”

“MJ, with only a one day notice provided excellent house sitting services for my 2 year old German Shorthaired Pointer. Sherman is also a large and strong GSP and MJ handled him with such delicate and professional care. MJ went above and beyond to provide training, and improved Shermans leash aggression. I just can't say enough about how grateful I am that Rover has such quality people like MJ. I feel like I found my Rover. Can't wait to book again.”

“Our experience with Ja was truly wonderful. She went above and beyond for our cat, Simba—spending quality time with him, feeding him right on schedule, keeping his litter box spotless, and giving him plenty of playtime. She was incredibly flexible with our expectations and made everything so easy for us. Her regular updates, photos, and videos gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and we would absolutely book her again without hesitation.”

“Audra is very responsible and caring not just with Emi but also with our home, she is very communicative and send us updates about our dog and Emi loves her. I would recommend Audra to anyone :)”

“Trina and her dog cubby were excellent while taking care of our very energetic and sometimes anxious dog. Reliable, sent lots of photos, and our dog seemed very comfortable with her and cubby. Would definitely book again with her.”

Vivian is wonderful!!!! She took amazing care of my dogs and took them on adventures every day and gave them lots of love. (My dogs weren't even that excited to have me back haha). She sent pictures, videos, and updates every day, which was so helpful and reassuring. She took excellent care of our dogs and our house. Our house was in a bit of a state of chaos when we left, but thanks to Vivian, I came back to a clean and organized house, complete with a bouquet of flowers, a lovely note, and homemade matcha chia pudding 🥹
Maria was great. I believe this was our third booking with her, and we will certainly book again. She is very sweet with our dog and our dog loves her. Maria is very communicative and reached out well in advance to let us know her plans had changed as we had booked her fairly far in advance. She takes great care of our house. We feel secure leaving our beloved pup and our house with Maria to care for.

Kimberly goes above and beyond for my pets every single time. She has grown to be very close to my cat, and all of his typical “moms out of town behaviors” are subdued with Kimberly. She takes fabulous care of any pets, she communicates well, and she is reliable. 100000/10 recommend

Marisol provided excellent care for my dog while my wife and I were away! She was highly personable and responsible. I received updates regularly and she even was willing to pick up a package of mine that was delivered away from my apartment. She left the place very clean and I would happily book again.

What a wonderful experience for both my dog and I. Very attentive, detail oriented, and real care and effort put into her stay and caring for my dog. Great communication and shared many wonderful pictures and updates throughout the stay. Left my house looking better than I had left it. Would 💯 recommend and use again! She is wonderful

Alexa took excellent care of my cat while I was away. My cat has separation anxiety and can't be left alone. I needed someone at the last minute and she took the job. She communicated well, shared lots of cute pictures and videos, and I could tell my cat loved her. Would definitely hire her again!

Austin was phenomenal! Super communicative and helpful. I am so grateful for his excellent care of our 2 corgis. This was our first time using a sitter who wasn’t family, and Austin made the experience so easy from the initial meet and greet through the end of the sit. I will definitely book again the next time we travel!

Kendall is terrific. She cares and connected quickly with my pup. She is conscientious, offered to come and meet my dog before the visit. She asked questions about emergency plans, feeding, medications and her best schedule. She was tidy, punctual and helpful, even sending me photos and relaying my dogs attitude and energy level throughout her stay. I highly recommend Kendall - 5 stars!

We had an excellent experience with Julie and would highly recommend her. Her communication was outstanding from start to finish, and we appreciated the daily photos and updates that kept us informed and reassured while we were away. Julie was punctual, dependable, and clearly cared for our dog as if it were her own. We also returned to a spotless home, which was such a wonderful bonus after traveling. We wouldn't hesitate to book with Julie again!

Korinne was fantastic. She took care of my kitty for 4 days and spent ample time with him, stayed the night, provided several updates a day and made me feel that he was well taken care of. Will definitely try to have her visit again in the future when I need help!

Jaya was super accomodating and flexible with the dates. My dog Mila was super comfortable with her. Jaya had excellent communication and took great pics, kept regular updates. I was able to travel with peace of mind, so I will continue booking with her again for sure!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 9,204 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Menlo Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Menlo Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Menlo Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Menlo Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
