About: I’ve grown up with animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, and small pets like gerbils. I have a calm, patient, and friendly demeanor that helps me quickly build trust with animals of all personalities. As a dedicated animal lover, I treat every pet like family. I understand how important peace of mind is when you’re away, so I make it a priority to provide regular updates and photos to keep you reassured. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and pets who require medication, and I’m attentive to their individual needs and routines I am available most days out of the week, and on weekends. I currently work from home, so I can assure you that your pet will get all the attention and love they deserve! When boarding pets in my home, they are provided with a private, comfortable space in a dedicated spare bedroom to help them feel safe and relaxed. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I am respectful of all household rules, maintain cleanliness, and provide regular updates and photos to ensure peace of mind while you’re away.
“Laura became friends with our super shy cat and was very communicative, which put us at so much ease. Our carbon monoxide detector began to chirp on the third day, and Laura diagnosed the problem and stopped the chirping, much to our cat's relief, all while communicating with us! This may not be as important, but I also think Laura takes great photos and includes thoughtful details in the narrative on the Rover card—each day I looked forward to reading it.”

“Diana was AMAZING. She saw our sick cat on very last minute notice, worked so hard to get her meds in (even though my cat can be resistant), made sure my kitty was super comfortable, sent us ABUNDANT photos, put out a whole array of different foods from different places in our apartment as we were trying to get her to eat, etc. the list goes on. We were so incredibly worried about our kitty and Diana put us at ease with her care. We would hire her again in a heartbeat. She was also just so kind, patient, generous, and communicative the whole way!”

“We were so thrilled to find Jacob to take care of our cat. As a first time rover sitter he instantly bonded and took care of all our cats needs and we came home to a happy cat. We are definitely part of Jacob's rover pack now.”

I am so excited to get to know you and your fur babies!! With years of experience in dog walking, feeding, and training, I understand that pets need proper love and care to thrive. “Sam did an excellent job taking care of our cats while we were away. We returned from our trip to find our cats happy and well-cared for. Sam was reliable and took great care of our pets. We would definitely recommend Sam’s services to other pet owners and would be happy to hire Sam again in the future.”

“Highly recommend! She was incredibly detailed and responsible throughout the entire process. She even came over ahead of time for a meet-and-greet to familiarize herself with the entry process, which gave me great peace of mind. During the visits, she strictly followed all instructions to check on my two cats and provided very thorough, detailed updates and photos. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my babies!”

“Sarah is so great with my cats and very communicative! My cats are generally shy around people, but not the case when she visits them at all. Thank you for taking such great care of them!”

About: I’ve spent years caring for animals through long term dog and cat fostering, as well as frequent pet sitting for friends and neighbors. My own cat is currently back home with family while I get settled here, but pets have stayed a big part of my life the whole time. What sets me apart is attention to detail. I send timely updates and photos during every visit, so you always know exactly how your pet is doing. Whether it’s feeding, a walk, or just keeping them company, I treat every pet like my own. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions! My schedule is pretty flexible right now, and I can do drop in visits or walks 1 to 3 times a day depending on what your pet needs. Once I’ve gotten to know your dog or cat, I’m also happy to offer boarding. I live in an apartment with dog parks, which makes walks and outdoor time easy. For both walking and boarding, I only take care of one pet at a time, so your pet gets my full attention and a calm, low stress environment. I’m open to boarding for pets I’ve already met and feel comfortable with.

I am currently unemployed for a few months until I begin my first Physician Assistant job. Therefore my availability is wide open and I am able to care for your pets during the day or evening. I will make sure your dog feels comfortable and cared for while you are gone. From playtime, to walks, just let me know your pets preferences and I will happily try to stick to their routine.
“Yifei is incredibly attentive, patient, and detail-oriented. She did a meet-and-greet in advance and communicated clearly, which made the whole experience very reassuring. She got along wonderfully with my cat and took great care of him. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her!”

“Amanda came to our home once a day or twice as we needed to care for our cat Felix. She kept us updated with messages and wonderful photos of Felix while we were on our trip. We highly recommend Amanda for taking care of your pet.”

“Ariana is professional, detail oriented, and goes above and beyond. Her Rover cards were super thorough and transparent. She took such care of my baby - you can tell she is a true cat whisperer by how quickly my baby began to trust her. I will definitely be requesting her top notch services again in the future.”

“Son is an excellent choice if you need someone to watch your dog. Not only does he go above and beyond with care, my dog came back in better shape and with better leash manners because of him. He knows exactly what he’s doing when caring for big and small dogs and treats them like his own. I will Definitely use his services if I were to go out of town again!”

About: My family has had dogs my entire childhood, so I’ve had the experience of taking care of up to 3 large dogs at a time. I’ve learned how to feed, brush, bathe, and play with dogs my whole life. I also have prior experience doing drop-ins for other people’s dogs; feeding, watering, and playing with them twice a day. I believe it’s vital for pets to be physically and mentally stimulated every day, and I’m honored to be the person that can do that for them! I’m currently a student at SJSU looking for a summer job. I do not have a car, but I’m happy to take public transportation within reason to watch your pets! I’m mostly available on weekday mornings and afternoons. In terms of safety and security, I’m happy to accommodate your needs. Whatever you need me to do to make you more comfortable with me taking care of your pets in your home/yard I can do! In terms of dog-walking, I can take whatever route you prefer, and/or stay in your own neighborhood for your comfortability.
“Appreciate Flora for taking our last minute request and drop in for our cat Reggae over weekend. Communication with her was prompt and easy, and she did a great job taking care of Reggae. She also took some of the best looking cat pics. Thank you Flora!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - San Jose
I trust Terri completely with our pets. Just before our most recent trip, one of our pets developed a medical issue that jeopardized our ability to leave her even for a few days. Terri graciously agreed to add additional visits at the last minute, sent detailed updates and photos, administered medications and even caught a mistake in the dosage of one of the medications. She’s wonderful and I wholeheartedly recommend her!

Lucy provided excellent care of our three senior cats during our 4 day trip. She administered medication, fed, watered and cleaned up after our cats. Her reports from visits were fun, informative and made us laugh. She provided plenty of pictures to show that the cats were active, correct medication was being administered and the food/water/bathroom areas were all being kept clean. Lucy was wonderful through every step of the way and provided excellent care to our cats durning her visits!

Kexin really cared about my cat and took the time to get to know her personality and quirks to provide a calming and enjoyable experience. I would absolutely book again just for the kindness and compassion not to mention the care she took to keep everything clean and orderly.

TR is fantastic with my cat Nico. Her updates are full of all the info you could ask for when away from home, definitely going above and beyond. She was able to administer his meds while I was away and help keep me up to date with ongoing medical needs of his throughout the booking. TR does a great, great job.

Ryder was so excited to see Natalee each morning she dropped in for his morning feeding and walk. I am so very grateful for the kindness and her care of Ryder while we are away. I know Ryder feels the L💗VE and is given the attention he deserves during the time she's there. Thank you for being so Wonderful, Natalee!

This was our first time using Sara when our usual sitter was unavailable and she was great! She was very attentive during the initial meeting and it's very assuring to have a vet tech as our sitter as our cat gets older. She took fantastic care of our cat, going above and beyond! She sent lots of photos as well.

- 94% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
