“Diana was AMAZING. She saw our sick cat on very last minute notice, worked so hard to get her meds in (even though my cat can be resistant), made sure my kitty was super comfortable, sent us ABUNDANT photos, put out a whole array of different foods from different places in our apartment as we were trying to get her to eat, etc. the list goes on. We were so incredibly worried about our kitty and Diana put us at ease with her care. We would hire her again in a heartbeat. She was also just so kind, patient, generous, and communicative the whole way!”

“Sam has done a great job of caring for my cats twice now when I’ve been out of town. I even received photos of my cats, which I really appreciate. Thank you, Sam! 🐱🐈🐈⬛”

About: I am blessed to have been able to grow up with dogs. They are my world. From puppy care to senior care, I can promise you the best for your loved ones. I work part-time and would love to get the opportunity to take care of your loved ones. Due to the nature of my job, from weekdays to weekends my availability is very open. I am so excited to get to know you and your fur babies!! With years of experience in dog walking, feeding, and training, I understand that pets need proper love and care to thrive. I prioritize creating a safe environment that keeps your babies stress-free. I am very communicative and will adhere to their usual routines while taking lots of pictures so you are confident in my care for them!
About: I’ve spent years caring for animals through long term dog and cat fostering, as well as frequent pet sitting for friends and neighbors. My own cat is currently back home with family while I get settled here, but pets have stayed a big part of my life the whole time. What sets me apart is attention to detail. I send timely updates and photos during every visit, so you always know exactly how your pet is doing. Whether it’s feeding, a walk, or just keeping them company, I treat every pet like my own. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions! My schedule is pretty flexible right now, and I can do drop in visits or walks 1 to 3 times a day depending on what your pet needs. Once I’ve gotten to know your dog or cat, I’m also happy to offer boarding. I live in an apartment with dog parks, which makes walks and outdoor time easy. For both walking and boarding, I only take care of one pet at a time, so your pet gets my full attention and a calm, low stress environment. I’m open to boarding for pets I’ve already met and feel comfortable with.
“Jacob checked in on my cat while I was away. He gave a thorough care to her, and sent me a full report. Plus, he’s very kind! I can’t thank him enough, hope to get his help again.”

About: I have grown up around animals my whole life, including caring for cats and dogs. I’ve helped care for family dogs and raised my own cat, Salem, since he was a kitten. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, playtime, cleaning, giving attention, and creating a safe and comfortable environment for pets. I treat every animal with the same patience, love, and care I give my own. I am currently home for the summer with a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I can provide regular check-ins, playtime, feeding routines, and companionship while making sure each pet feels comfortable and cared for. I prioritize safety, patience, and creating a comfortable environment for every pet I care for. I follow each owner’s instructions closely, respect their home and routines, and provide updates so owners feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and receiving loving care.
“My husband and I needed somebody to check in on our cats on short notice, and we are glad Li was able help! She took care to leave thorough updates for each visit and was able to give Joey his medication. We would hire Li again to watch our cats.”
About: I have one dog that is my own and one other that I consistantly help out with. I have dog sat for coworkers, family and friends. I really like walking and playing with dogs which makes this job a lot of fun for me. I care deeply about the safety of dogs, cats and other pets and will always do my best to make sure they are happy and comfortable. I am in school so right now on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I can look after pets Monday Wednesday and Friday. My weekends are open through August for sure. My dog is on a loose schedule but gets walked once a day at a minimum and gets to run around in the backyard as well. He plays with the other dog in the household and is trained very well. I love dog training and work with him several days a week. He is crate trained, but also is consistently left out of the crate and does fine.
About: I’ve grown up with animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, and small pets like gerbils. I have a calm, patient, and friendly demeanor that helps me quickly build trust with animals of all personalities. As a dedicated animal lover, I treat every pet like family. I understand how important peace of mind is when you’re away, so I make it a priority to provide regular updates and photos to keep you reassured. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and pets who require medication, and I’m attentive to their individual needs and routines I am available most days out of the week, and on weekends. I currently work from home, so I can assure you that your pet will get all the attention and love they deserve! When boarding pets in my home, they are provided with a private, comfortable space in a dedicated spare bedroom to help them feel safe and relaxed. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I am respectful of all household rules, maintain cleanliness, and provide regular updates and photos to ensure peace of mind while you’re away.
“Laura is a fantastic sitter and was extremely helpful when dropping in to assist with feeding my cat, Surge. Surge has diabetes and also requires special eye drops, so Laura’s help with administering his post-meal insulin shot and eye drops was crucial in keeping his health in check while I was away.”

“Ariana is wonderful! Kept my little fur child healthy and occupied while away. She was very communicative and worked so well will my 9 week old rescued stray kitten. Thank you Ariana! I will be reaching out next time we need a pet sitter!! 🤗”

About: I grew up with English Setters and an American Bulldog, so big dogs with big personalities have always felt like home. I even helped with training our Bulldog, which taught me that consistency, patience, and understanding body language go a long way. Every dog is different, and that’s one of my favorite things about them. Some want to sprint around the neighborhood, some would rather stop and sniff every single blade of grass (and I’ll happily wait while they conduct their very important investigations). I enjoy figuring out what makes each dog feel comfortable, happy, and engaged. Whether your dog is high-energy, a gentle giant, or somewhere in between, I’ll meet them where they are. My goal is simple: make sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection while you have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. As a mechanical engineering student, my schedule varies a bit throughout the year. I keep my calendar updated to reflect exam weeks and semester schedule changes, including the transition at the end of August. I believe pets deserve unhurried, attentive care, so I only accept bookings I know I can fully commit to. That means when I’m with your pet, they have my full attention, not just a spot squeezed into a busy schedule. I understand that trusting someone with both your pet and your home is a big decision. I’ll always treat your home with the same care and respect I’d expect someone to show mine. I’ll carefully follow your pet’s routine, respect any household rules, double-check doors and gates, and make sure your pet has fresh water, exercise, playtime, and plenty of affection. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe and happy.

About: I've been around cats and dogs since I was a baby. After being scratched many times growing up around cats, I have learned cat behavior pretty well. I currently have two cats that would attest to that if they knew English. As for dogs, I've been around many different breeds. My family has had a German Shepherd, a black lab, a tea cup chihuahua, a beagle, and a jack a poo. (not all at the same time.) I feel comfortable taking care of most dogs! I also have house sat for friends with dogs many times before. (they were a mastiff and a weimaraner) I mostly spend my day working on personal projects on the computer. The schedule for those is very flexible so I have plenty of time to stop by and take care of pets! I currently have two cats in my apartment. I keep the litter box cleaned, I play with them throughout the day and take them out on walks in a stroller occasionally. All things I can do when caring for your cat (except for the stroller, probably).
“We booked Sarah for the first time and couldn’t be happier! We can tell our two dogs (senior 50 lb mixed breed and younger 60 lb husky) enjoyed their time with Sarah. We came back to calm and happy dogs, and a clean home. She had no issue walking both dogs at the same time and addressing their individual care needs. She made sure they had walks, cuddles, and a variety of play. We really appreciated Sarah’s clear communication and regular updates. She is punctual, friendly, and reliable, and we’d love to have her watch our dogs again. The dogs even seem to be wondering where their new friend Sarah is!”

“Sabrina has been the best find on Rover! She is kind, dependable, and very responsive. You can immediately sense her love for dogs. She treats my pup like one of her own and he is always very excited to see her. I highly recommend Sabrina’s services!”

About: Hi! I’m a De Anza College nursing student and a lifelong dog and animal lover. I’m reliable, routine-focused, and confident caring for a wide range of dogs, including high-energy pups and dogs who need calmer, structured walks. I gained hands-on experience caring for a sweet but reactive Golden Retriever while working as an au pair in Germany, so I’m very attentive to leash safety, triggers, and keeping walks smooth and safe. I’m also raising my own Golden Retriever puppy, Sunny, so I’m comfortable managing energetic dogs and staying consistent with routines. I’m detail-oriented, happy to follow your instructions closely, and I can give oral medications if needed. I’m also gentle with senior dogs who need a slower pace. You can expect thoughtful updates, photos, and calm, consistent care. Pet care fits into my weekly routine. I plan my class/study schedule around my Rover bookings so I can be consistent and on time. On weekdays, I’m typically available for morning, midday, and evening visits/walks (my calendar reflects my exact availability). I prioritize routine, so once we agree on times, I stick to them. I also build in flexibility for longer walks, extra potty breaks, and unexpected needs, and I communicate early if anything changes. Trust and safety are my top priorities, and I treat every pet like my own. In a client’s home: • I will make sure to follow your routine (feeding, potty breaks, walk style, and house rules). • I always double-check doors, gates, and leashes/harnesses before leaving. • Walks are calm and controlled: I avoid risky situations, keep safe distance from triggers, and don’t allow off-leash time unless you’ve explicitly approved a secure area. (I never take pets to dog parks unless the owner requests it and we’ve discussed it in advance.) • I keep your home tidy and secure (lights/locks, wiping paws if needed, quick cleanup after meals). In my home (if boarding/daycare): • Pets are supervised and kept in a calm, clean environment. • I separate pets during meals/treats to prevent resource guarding. • I use positive reinforcement and respect each pet’s comfort level. • I can accommodate crate routines if your pet is crate-trained. Communication: • You’ll get photo/video updates and a short note each visit. • If anything unusual happens (vomiting, injury, appetite changes, behavior shifts), I contact you right away and follow your instructions. • I’m comfortable giving oral medications and caring for seniors who need a gentler pace. I would also prefer a Meet & Greet so I can learn your pet’s routine and make sure we’re a great match.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - San Jose
Anke is a real cat whisperer. Our cats are very selective about whom they let pet them, but at the same time they’re very social, so I’ve been worried about leaving them home for too long. But Anke showered them with love and playtime, and they fell in love with her right away. She’s also a great photographer and provides amazing updates and reports, with her, you always know what’s going on at home with your cats when you’re away. I’m sure they miss her now!
Cassidy did a great job. She was very conscientious and attentive to our six 4-legged creatures, some of whom have fur, some of whom have scales, and some of whom have that rubbery skin-like substance that amphibian and gecko legs are made of. Thank you, Cassidy!

Christina was absolutely wonderful with our cats, Freddy and Jerry! She took excellent care of them and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was clear she genuinely enjoyed spending time with them. She kept us updated throughout the stay with thoughtful messages, pictures, and videos, which we really appreciated and looked forward to each day. We came home to two well-cared-for cats. We truly appreciate the love and attention she gave them and would gladly book her again. We highly recommend Christina to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and trustworthy pet sitter!
Hailey was an excellent catsitter who followed instructions well. Our cat loved her and loved playing with her. She’s very considerate and gave detailed updates regarding our cat while we were on vacation. She’s very experienced with cats, and we felt comfortable leaving our cat in good hands.

Amanda did such an incredible job with the animals. We could not be happier with having found her to care for them. She did a great job of communicating with us on what they need - she able to corral our tiny barker and take her out without any trouble, which can be no mean feat when she doesn’t want to be caught. She was so sweet with both the cat and the dog and she paid equal attention to them both. Her behavior was very professional. She showed up exactly on time, did all the tasks we asked for, left the animals and the house on tip top shape, and paid attention to the details when she was taking care of them like water, food, and not letting the puppy eat anything on her walk. Thank you Amanda! We recommend her to everyone for both cats and dogs.

I trust Terri completely with our pets. Just before our most recent trip, one of our pets developed a medical issue that jeopardized our ability to leave her even for a few days. Terri graciously agreed to add additional visits at the last minute, sent detailed updates and photos, administered medications and even caught a mistake in the dosage of one of the medications. She’s wonderful and I wholeheartedly recommend her!

Lucy provided excellent care of our three senior cats during our 4 day trip. She administered medication, fed, watered and cleaned up after our cats. Her reports from visits were fun, informative and made us laugh. She provided plenty of pictures to show that the cats were active, correct medication was being administered and the food/water/bathroom areas were all being kept clean. Lucy was wonderful through every step of the way and provided excellent care to our cats durning her visits!

Kexin really cared about my cat and took the time to get to know her personality and quirks to provide a calming and enjoyable experience. I would absolutely book again just for the kindness and compassion not to mention the care she took to keep everything clean and orderly.

This was our first time using Sara when our usual sitter was unavailable and she was great! She was very attentive during the initial meeting and it's very assuring to have a vet tech as our sitter as our cat gets older. She took fantastic care of our cat, going above and beyond! She sent lots of photos as well.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
