“Christina was wonderful! Our first time using Rover, and I’m so glad we went with Christina for visits to our cat. She was great with him! Very communicative with us and we loved getting detailed notes and photos and videos during every visit. My husband and I joke that our cat is probably sad that we’re back and Christina won’t be visiting anymore. Will definitely be reaching in the future for overnight trips. Could not recommend her enough!!!”

“This is the second time I've hired Nikisha while I was away for a trip and I would 1000% hire her again. My cat loves her and seems happy to see her when she comes by, and she checked on my elderly gecko as well, keeping her water clean and filled. Super thankful for her!”

“Dylan was great with my dog Bo. He encouraged my old lazy dog to get out for potty breaks on our drop in visits. He’s detail-oriented and clearly cares about animals. We will absolutely use him again.”

“Joleen was absolutely amazing! She took excellent care of my two cats while away on a trip, was able to give my diabetic cat his insulin, and treated them like her own. I was extremely happy with the status updates and never had to worry about anything. If you need a reliable pet sitter who will give your pets the best treatment, look no further!”

“We are repeat customers with Kaylee. We feel very comfortable leaving our pets & our home in her hands. She is prompt with her communications & in her visits, sends lots of pictures, takes care of everything we ask, and makes sure the cats get lots of pets. We have a cat that takes anti-seizure meds that need to be dosed approx 12 hours apart and she is very mindful of that when making her visits.”

“If you want someone who is trustworthy, truly cares about your pet, respects your space, and gives thorough updates with lots of photos, hire Hailey! I am so happy to have found a great pet sitter who I can hire every time I need one. She took care of my cat and gave her love as if she was her own pet.”

“Michele is very sweet and nice and responsive, my cat enjoyed playing with her a lot and she took care of the food, water and litter boxes so carefully, 5 out of 5 for sure!”

“Shawna was attentive and truly cared for my cat Kitty. She was on time and never missed a day in two weeks. If I could give her 6 stars, I would. Thank you Shawna, job well done! Dr Jim”

“Elise is knowledgeable and caring. Her love of animals is obvious. My kitties were super relaxed and happy with her and I had peace of mind while away. The updates were uplifting.”

“Andrea is caring, patient and wonderful caretaker. Even though our dog was a bit of a challenge, Andrea handled it well and tried her best to make him feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve grown up with animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, and small pets like gerbils. I have a calm, patient, and friendly demeanor that helps me quickly build trust with animals of all personalities. As a dedicated animal lover, I treat every pet like family. I understand how important peace of mind is when you’re away, so I make it a priority to provide regular updates and photos to keep you reassured. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and pets who require medication, and I’m attentive to their individual needs and routines I am available most days out of the week, and on weekends. I currently work from home, so I can assure you that your pet will get all the attention and love they deserve! When boarding pets in my home, they are provided with a private, comfortable space in a dedicated spare bedroom to help them feel safe and relaxed. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I am respectful of all household rules, maintain cleanliness, and provide regular updates and photos to ensure peace of mind while you’re away.
“Shelly was a great choice! Every specific care task was completed. Last minute, one of my cats needed medication and she gladly took care of that as well. Shelly was punctual, communicated great, and helpful. One of my cats is super shy, but eventually opened up with Shelly (which is a good sign.) My cats were clearly happy and very-cared for. She provided up to date info after each visit and included cute photos of the two cats :) She definitely provided a sense of comfort and assurance while we were away. I would definitely recommend Shelly to other pet owners.”

“Echo (Xiaowei) took wonderful care of our two cats over our weeklong Fourth of July trip. Echo navigated different diets and special needs for an elder cat. Our cats got wonderful care, and we will happily rebook on our next trip!”

“I would highly recommend Zhengjun when considering someone to take care of your pet. Zhengjun stepped up and took over for my original sitter when that arrangement didn’t work out properly. Without Zhengjun’s assistance we would have been in a real predicament. So thank you Zhengjun for stepping up and saving the day!!”

“Mallory is fantastic! Reliable, attentive, thorough, and provided detailed updates and photos. She gave the gift of peace of mind, especially as my dog is elderly and gets a variety of medicines and ointments. I would absolutely book again.”
About: I grew up with English Setters and an American Bulldog, so big dogs with big personalities have always felt like home. I even helped with training our Bulldog, which taught me that consistency, patience, and understanding body language go a long way. Every dog is different, and that’s one of my favorite things about them. Some want to sprint around the neighborhood, some would rather stop and sniff every single blade of grass (and I’ll happily wait while they conduct their very important investigations). I enjoy figuring out what makes each dog feel comfortable, happy, and engaged. Whether your dog is high-energy, a gentle giant, or somewhere in between, I’ll meet them where they are. My goal is simple: make sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection while you have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. As a mechanical engineering student, my schedule varies a bit throughout the year. I keep my calendar updated to reflect exam weeks and semester schedule changes, including the transition at the end of August. I believe pets deserve unhurried, attentive care, so I only accept bookings I know I can fully commit to. That means when I’m with your pet, they have my full attention, not just a spot squeezed into a busy schedule. I understand that trusting someone with both your pet and your home is a big decision. I’ll always treat your home with the same care and respect I’d expect someone to show mine. I’ll carefully follow your pet’s routine, respect any household rules, double-check doors and gates, and make sure your pet has fresh water, exercise, playtime, and plenty of affection. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe and happy.
“Ziying was a wonderful cat sitter for our drop-in visits. She is very kind, caring, and easy to communicate with. She kept me updated before visit and shared lots of photos and videos, which I really appreciated. My cats were well taken care of, and I felt completely at ease. I would definitely book Ziying again in the future and highly recommend her.”

“Leilani was amazing -- we would hire her again in a heart beat. Super on time and went above & beyond on communicating with us actively on how our kitty was doing. Even when our kitty had a throw up incident on Leilani's last day with her, Leilani cleaned it up + was very gracious about it. Thank you!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Alum Rock
We are endlessly grateful for Christina. We got married this past weekend and had never used Rover before. She made us feel so comfortable with the process and came by to meet our cats ahead of time. She left incredibly detailed notes on our kitties and their well being, with the cutest photos and videos. Christina went out of her way to meet our needs. We will be using her again for every trip we can!!!

nikisha was very responsive before visits & the meet and greet was a perfect opportunity to warm luna up to her. I loved that nikisha was very communicative & responsible during her visits. i also appreciated the videos and pictures of luna & informative reports she left.

This was second time Sasha took wonderful care of Luna while we were away. She followed all instructions carefully, kept us updated, and regularly shared photos, which gave us great peace of mind. Even when she had a sudden emergency, she communicated right away and still made sure Luna was taken care of — something we really appreciated. Sasha is responsible, thoughtful, and we always feel relaxed knowing Luna is in her care. We would happily trust her again and highly recommend her!

Karina was amazing with Tchitcha. She is very patient, calm, and flexible, which made the whole experience stress-free. She followed all instructions carefully, communicated well, and took great care of her. We felt very comfortable knowing Tchitcha was in such good hands. Highly recommend!

I definitely recommend Skylee. My senior cat is on multiple meds and have certain dietary needs, and when I first met Skylee, she took down a lot of notes and asked questions to make sure she understands everything well. I really felt reassured when I was away with the detailed updates that she left and she took a lot of photos. Will book again in the future. Thank you!
My cat is shy and feels threatened by strangers in the house. Veronica seems to have a great understanding of cats and with her gentle, non threatening ways, she had my cat actually willingly come to her. I am grateful for the special care my cat received in our absence from Veronica.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
