“Erjin arrived on time every day, and he was patient enough to try and play with my cat — who is very very shy. Purla doesn’t open up easily, but by the last day Erjin was able to play with her! I highly recommend Erjin :).”

“Omar is incredible with our little cat, Cosmo! Our boy loves him and Omar is very attentive and communicative, letting us know how his litter is looking, if he’s eating alright, and if he seems comfortable/playful as normal. We get tons of photos every day, and we’ve noticed the care Omar puts into being in our home, too! Cosmo always has a fresh pot of cat grass planted after visits with Omar, and we notice litter vacuuming as well. Above and beyond for us!! If we can help it, Omar will always be our go-to for care.”

“Sierra was great! She responded quickly to my last minute booking and was super accommodating. She sent lots of pictures and videos and filled me in on Coco while I was on vacation. I would definitely recommend her to others!”

“Dawn was the best sitter we’ve hired from Rover! She went above and beyond for our kitties and clearly loves what she does. She sent fun updates with great photos every day and we came back to a tidy home, despite one of our cats making a mess while we were gone. She is an excellent communicator and I felt like our pets were in being well cared for while we were away. I will be hiring her again.”

“Frank has been a fantastic dog walker! He’s always punctual, communicates clearly, and provides detailed updates after every walk. Most importantly, my dog absolutely loves him. Highly recommend!”

“Zihan did an excellent job of checking in on my cat while I was out of town for over a week. I appreciated the updates and pictures she provided each day and her attention to detail. She went above and beyond with keeping everything clean and perfect for when I came back.”

“Qianwen did an amazing job taking care of my cats over the weekend! Super appreciative for the last minute help and affectionate care while I was away. The cats were super happy when I got back and I loved all the crazy pictures and angles of them I got sent! Thank you!!”

“Stephen was absolutely amazing with my cat ! I booked Stephen last minute for 6 days . I am glad he was available. I could not have found a better sitter for my cat. He made sure to feed and refill my cat’s food and water while I was gone. He sent tons of pictures and very responsible in communicating with me over the Rover app! He checked in timely and was extremely professional, he spent a lot of time playing with my cat! I will definitely book him again”

About: I’ve taken care of my own cats since they were kittens and they are about 8 years old now. I’ve also dog sit for friends and family while they’re were out on vacation. Love of fur babies! Wish I had a bigger place to own a dog. For now, I’m okay with getting all my dog love from dog sitting! I work remote and have a very flexible schedule so I don’t have a problem with scheduling. As long as it’s communicated to me a day prior so I can prep for the visit :) I can try to fulfill any specific care requests if needed as long as the client provides full care details. I want to make sure your fur baby is taken care of the way they like it!
“Emily was absolutely wonderful. She took amazing care of our two cats, including administering medication to our elderly cat who can be a bit difficult. She followed all instructions perfectly and went above and beyond to keep us updated with photos and messages, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. Both Yogi and Webbigale were happy and well taken care of when we returned. I highly recommend Emily — she is kind, reliable, and incredibly attentive.”

About: Hi! I offer private, one-on-one cat boarding in a quiet home in the Bay Area. ✨ What makes my care different: • I only host ONE cat at a time (or cats from the same household) • My home has NO other pets, creating a calm, stress-free environment • I work from home full-time, so your cat gets consistent supervision and companionship throughout the day I have years of experience caring for cats, including raising my own American Shorthair, and I’m also actively involved in TNR (trap-neuter-return) work helping community cats. I’m comfortable working with different personalities, including shy or sensitive cats. My goal is to provide a safe, quiet, and low-stress environment, especially for cats who don’t do well in busy boarding settings. I will follow your cat’s routine closely and provide daily updates with photos/videos, so you can feel at ease while you’re away. I currently work from home full-time, so your cat will have consistent supervision and companionship throughout the day. I’m able to maintain a stable routine for feeding, playtime, and monitoring, ensuring your cat feels safe and cared for at all times. My home is a calm, quiet, and pet-free environment with no other animals, which helps reduce stress for visiting cats. I only host one cat at a time, keep the space clean and secure, and closely monitor your cat to ensure safety and comfort throughout their stay.
“Rendell was amazing with my cats. In addition to the standard care he was able to catch Darcy and give her the medication. He finished by washing the pet dishes, going beyind my ask. I can home to happy cats and didn't have to worry about my ailing cat while I was gone.”

“Marisa provided great care for our dog Nina, a 70 lb German Shepherd. We had her come over to spend sometime with our dog, a short walk around our community and feed her. We're glad we found a great dog sitter and will use her again in the future!”

“Yiwei and Yue were wonderful! They were very responsive and easy to work with. Yue took the time to meet Nimbo before our vacation. She took notice of Nimbo's mannerisms and was familiar with the types of litter and food that we had in the house. While Yue was visiting, she noticed that the automatic pet feeder was out of dry food so she took the time to make sure that it was refilled. Thank you again for watching over Nimbo!”

“Jiamin is the best pet sitter ever! One of the things I appreciated most was how much attention and affection Jiamin gave to my cat. On top of that, Jiamin wrote a River Card after every visit and included tons of pictures and videos. My cat looked like he was having an amazing time—honestly, even more fun than he usually has with me, lol. Jiamin also noticed that my cat might benefit from having more companionship. Because of that, I requested an additional last-minute visit, and Jiamin was kind enough to accommodate it. I could feel the care and affection in every visit, and my cat definitely loved Jiamin.”

“Conner was great! Reliable, communicative, and he asked all the right questions. He even visited our home an extra time to bring in a perishable package that we'd forgotten was going to be delivered. His daily reports on how our cats were doing were excellent--just the right amount of detail. I'd recommend him without reservation.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Alviso
Super amazing cat sitter! I had to go on a last minute flight and was able to book Rendell with 3 days notice for the following 10 days. He is super responsive (responded to my messages almost instantly) and was super flexible with times (I had to increase from 1 visit to 2 visits a day, and also had to adjust the scheduled dates later). Every visit, he cleaned the food and water bowls, refilled kibble to exactly 35g with my scale, fed him a quarter can of wet food, and played with him using the wand toy. My cat had a mild case of ringworms and he was also able to accommodate for that and send me daily photos of his skin to track if things were getting worse. He was also able to operate my automatic litter machine and refill the trash bag, as well as help me clean the roomba after it vacuumed and mopped. Would recommend to anyone looking for a seamless experience!

Dawn was amazing at taking care of our cats! We were on a vacation for over a week and Dawn came in everyday to check on the cats, feed them and play with them. She made sure that our cats were not stressed at all. She used to send us a lot of pictures everyday, so we missed our babies a little less. I loved that she was very communicative. She texted everyday with details of how cats were doing. She is very experienced with automatic feeders and litter bots. Having Dawn made our vacation stress free.

Both my cats love Mingjie, which shows what a good sitter she is (because one of my cats is super shy but he totally remembered her from 3 months ago!) She plays with my kitties so much and takes tons of photos! I no longer have to worry when I have to go away because I know my cats are in good hands!

Jiamin is the best pet sitter ever! I could feel the care and affection in every visit, and my cat definitely loved Jiamin.

Sukky (Siqi) is an amazing Rover cat sitter — incredibly attentive and truly knows how to interact with cats. Hoohoo was so well cared for, and reading her daily update notes genuinely made my day every time. She’s thoughtful, observant, and clearly experienced with cats. She also went above and beyond what I expected: she helped brush Hoohoo’s fur, tidied up the living room, and took absolutely fantastic photos (I’m literally using them as my phone wallpaper!). On top of that, she even drew an adorable little sketch of Hoohoo — such a sweet and personal touch. I’m so grateful for everything she did, and I will definitely book Siqi again next time. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
