“Let me just say, Julie ROCKS! She has been a saving grace for me moving up here to San Jose on a quick notice! She takes great care of my 3-1/2 month old Gemma. Bring your fur kids here! Gemma would love to wrestle with them… and She has a sweet older dog and daughter who Gemma loves! I’m going to leave it at that, because to be honest I could go on and on about how pleased I am and what a help she’s been!”

“Melissa & Tommy are genuinely such good to honest animal loving people. We are so appreciative of their patience and calm demeanor around our furbabies. Our furbabies are a lot to handle. One of them has high anxiety to loud sounds, movements, strangers and the little one is a snuggly rascal. But Melissa & Tommy handled and cared for them with so much love. We are grateful. They also provided tons of updates. We appreciate that a lot! Thank you so much!!”

I have plenty of time to give love and care for your pet. I had a cat for 15 years and occasionally, took care of our friends dogs. I live in a townhouse and I had a small fenced front yard and a park nearby. I am very patient and attentive with feeding and walking times.
“Soojin was fantastic with my Suki girl for daycare! She sent lots of adorable photos and updates throughout the day, answered all of my questions, and made drop-off and pick-up incredibly easy. I felt completely at ease knowing Suki was in such great hands. My pup came home happy, tired, and content, which is always the best sign. I’m so grateful to have found Soojin and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter. Thank you, Soojin!”

About: Hi! I’m Pei :) Caring for animals has always come naturally to me, and spending time with dogs is something I genuinely enjoy. Friends and family have trusted me with their pets, and I love getting to know each dog’s unique personality, routines, and quirks. I previously cared for a friend’s dog for several weeks and truly enjoyed being part of their daily routine. Whether it was walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company, I loved making sure they felt happy, safe, and loved while their owner was away. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision. My goal is to provide a calm, comfortable, and loving environment where your dog feels like part of the family. I’ll follow your instructions carefully, keep you updated with photos, and treat your dog with the same care and attention I would give my own. I can’t wait to meet your furry family member! 🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I currently have a flexible schedule and spend much of my time at home. I genuinely enjoy having pets around, whether we're going for walks, relaxing together, or simply keeping each other company throughout the day. Your pet will receive plenty of attention, supervision, and affection while staying with me. I'm available on both weekdays and weekends and am happy to send regular photo updates so you can see how your furry family member is doing. I understand that leaving your pet with someone new can feel stressful, which is why creating a safe, loving, and comfortable environment is my top priority. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and needs so they can feel at home while you're away. Whether your dog is playful, shy, energetic, or prefers a quiet space, I'll make sure they receive the care and attention that's right for them. I treat every pet like family and always provide regular updates, photos, and clear communication for complete peace of mind.
About: I’ve spent years caring for animals through long term dog and cat fostering, as well as frequent pet sitting for friends and neighbors. My own cat is currently back home with family while I get settled here, but pets have stayed a big part of my life the whole time. What sets me apart is attention to detail. I send timely updates and photos during every visit, so you always know exactly how your pet is doing. Whether it’s feeding, a walk, or just keeping them company, I treat every pet like my own. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions! My schedule is pretty flexible right now, and I can do drop in visits or walks 1 to 3 times a day depending on what your pet needs. Once I’ve gotten to know your dog or cat, I’m also happy to offer boarding. I live in an apartment with dog parks, which makes walks and outdoor time easy. For both walking and boarding, I only take care of one pet at a time, so your pet gets my full attention and a calm, low stress environment. I’m open to boarding for pets I’ve already met and feel comfortable with.
About: I've had my own dog ever since I can remember a family dog was always there and I was never without one. I enjoy a dog's company and I'm sure undermine, your dog will feel right at home. I do work full time however my schedule is flexible to come home to give breaks and once I'm home from work they have my full attention with walks until bedtime. The weekend, I am home providing walks and care. Plenty of play time with my dog as well. I live in an apartment which across the street we have a small dog fenced area and as well as a convenient walking area in the surround premises.
“Yifei was great with our basset hound Penny. We drove over from Texas and she accommodated our time change, sent plenty of pictures to let us know our baby was good and gave her plenty of attention while we were out exploring the town!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life. I have a super friendly but needy beagle, so I know what it takes. I treat our dog like a child. My home is setup with a lot of dog beds and lounge areas. I live in a very walkable area with a small secluded dog park nearby. I work from home so I’m flexible during the day on weekdays. On average I am available every other weekend. Hoping to find dog owners who can also care for my dog down the line when needed. I don’t have a yard but I have a good amount of space inside. I go on 3 walks a day! I have a 35 lb beagle who is very friendly. I prefer to care for small/medium dogs since I live in a townhome.
“I chose Mikayla based on the positive reviews and she didn’t disappoint. She is very sweet, attentive and is flexible about drop off and pick up time. Great communication throughout and sent plenty of updates and pictures. She also asked questions to make sure that she is providing what the fur baby needs. Great experience and my fur baby would love to see her again!”

About: I am a lifelong dog lover and proud mom to a 2 year old French Bulldog with IVDD. She is quiet, submissive, and a little timid, so I understand the importance of gentle care and patience. I only take potty-trained, non-reactive dogs who are ready for calm love and attention. Having grown up with dogs all my life, I know how to read their cues and help them feel comfortable and happy. I would love to care for your furry friend and make them feel right at home. Unfortunately, my husband and I are allergic to cats, and we don’t have experience caring for them, so we are unable to provide cat care. I have a flexible work schedule, and the days I list as available on Rover are frequently updated. On those days, I can give your pup my full attention, including walks, love, playtime, and cozy snuggles. Our apartment is secure and gated and our dog-friendly community even has an on-site dog park for safe walks and playtime. For the comfort and safety of all dogs, I like to do a quick meet-and-greet with my dog to make sure everyone feels happy and relaxed together.
About: Your dog won't just be watched — they'll be part of the routine. I'm home full-time, which means no long hours alone, no rushing back between jobs. Small dogs thrive here: calm environment, consistent schedule, and someone who actually notices when they're a little off today. With 15+ years of hands-on experience and a grooming background, I catch things most people miss — a slight limp, a change in appetite, unusual behavior. You'll get photo updates throughout the day, not just a "everything's fine" at the end. Every dog that comes to stay gets a proper settle-in period — I don't rush them. Some take an hour, some take a day. Either way, we go at their pace. What to expect: Full-time supervision Daily photo/video updates Grooming eye — I'll flag anything that looks off Small dogs only, so your pup always gets real attention Meet & greet before every first booking Pet care is already built into my daily routine since I’m home most of the time and plan my schedule around the dogs. I’m able to provide regular potty breaks, meals, playtime, rest, and supervision throughout the day. I enjoy keeping a calm home environment and making sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. In my home, I provide a calm, clean, and closely supervised environment for dogs. I focus on a low-density, home-style setting so each dog gets plenty of attention, potty breaks, feeding, rest, and safe indoor play. I also pay close attention to each dog’s personality, comfort level, and daily routine to help them feel relaxed and secure. If caring for a pet in a client’s home, I would carefully follow the owner’s instructions for feeding, potty breaks, exercise, medication, and routine, while making sure the pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
“Xiuhui aka Sophie is very responsive and responsible taking care of my shy, timid baby girl. Sophie takes my girl out for walks at least two times even it’s just 6-8 hours day care. Gives timely updates and pictures of my girl. Most important thing for me is that she’s punctual and flexible. I had bad experience when the sitter didn’t come out to pick up my dog on time and didn’t reply to messages or phone call for like 20 minutes because they “forget and mute my phone” then the traffic became horrible for me. Sophie replies messages in a timely fashion. Sometimes we need to drop my dog off early than scheduled, sometimes we need to pick her up late, and Sophie is all fine with that without any issues. I highly recommend her and will continue letting her take care of my baby girl.”

“Save me from a last minute booking. I loved leaving my sweet girl with Sofiya, Nina came out super happy. Definitely will come back and recommend. Thanks so much for loving my pup Sofiya!”

“This was our first time using rover. One of our dogs is very anxious and doesn’t get along with other dogs so we only trusted them being watched by my MIL. However, we decided to just give it a try. Nataliya was amazing. Great communication and most importantly caring and loving with our fur babies. So excited we found her and would definitely recommend.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs daily through raising and training my own two dogs, Oreo and Caramel. I’ve personally handled crate training, potty training, feeding schedules, leash walking, socialization, and creating consistent routines in a calm home environment. Caring for my dogs has helped me become very attentive to dog behavior, comfort, safety, and individual needs. I understand the importance of patience, supervision, communication, and making pets feel safe and at home while their owners are away. I’m committed to providing reliable, loving care and treating every dog like part of the family. Pet care is becoming my full-time focus, so I’m available Monday through Friday and able to provide dogs with consistent supervision, potty breaks, playtime, and attention throughout the day. My schedule allows me to build my daily routine around the dogs in my care, including walks, feeding schedules, enrichment activities, rest time, and individualized attention based on each dog’s needs. I’m home for most of the day and strive to create a calm, safe, and structured environment where dogs feel comfortable and cared for like family. I have a fenced backyard for supervised outdoor play and potty breaks, as well as crates available for downtime, rest, or maintaining your dog’s normal routine if needed. I also have a dog play area to help dogs stay active, engaged, and entertained throughout the day with supervised play and enrichment activities.
About: I am an animal lover and advocate with decades of experience providing cat and dog caregiver services to our community. My experience ranges from bottle babies to senior babies. I foster with rescues, so I am comfortable with a variety of personality types and special needs. I offer cat and dog boarding in my home, as well as in home visits. I also offer advanced care – baths, nail trimming, administering meds, including subcutaneous fluids and injections (B12, insulin, etc.). Having kitties and pups of my own my whole life, I know how difficult it can be to trust someone with your fur babies when you are away. I would be honored to help you. I work from home, so I have the ability to give your fur babies the extra care and attention they deserve while you are away. I am available seven days a week, including holiday dates. For overnight stays, I have a fur baby room to host kitties, or pups, if they would do better with their own space at night. I have a fenced yard and two friendly pups to keep your pup company.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - San Jose
Anytime I leave Kaia with Diana and her team, I know I’ll get back a satisfied and tired baby. She always gets sad when I leave her off but quickly settles in. I get frequent updates and photo that always makes me smile and puts me at ease. I grateful for this team. 🫶🏼

My dog stayed with Raquel for the day, and we had a great experience. He looked very comfortable and happy with Raquel and her family, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. Raquel provided timely updates throughout the day, and it was clear that she genuinely cares about the dogs in her care. I felt completely safe leaving my dog with her and would not hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!

Melissa was spot-on with communication and empathy. Although her husband seemed to play a major role, I had only communicated through Melissa. Daff seemed well taken care of (plenty of photos), and was there for a VERY last minute booking. If I lived here, I'd be loyal to using them again and again :)

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
