“Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Parker this afternoon. It was great to see her socializing with other dogs. We appreciated you sending pictures and videos during her stay.”

“Our dog had a good day with Joshua and Evangeline! They are nice people and sent cute pictures of the dog. I appreciated that they were able to accept a fairly last-minute care request too.”

“We had a dinner party and needed a pet sitter for Cache fo just a few hours in the evening. Steve was accommodating of our schedule and welcomed Cache into his and Mya's home. Steve was confident, friendly, and engaging with Cache. Cache enjoyed long walks and playtime with Steve and Mya. Cache returned home exercised and ready to rest after his active play date. We will definitely call on Steve again for doggy day care!”

“This was my Maizy's first visit with Sofiya. Maizy hasn't had much socialization with other dogs and Sofiya is helping her become more comfortable with the idea. Sofiya is a wonderful caregiver, very gentle and kind. She doesn't disappoint.”

“Lola is a very shy girl and has a lot of separation anxiety but Trishalee was so sensitive and made sure that Lola had some play time, quiet time and affection to make her feel comfortable. I will be booking again.”

About: I have had my dog Samba for about 8 years. When we adopted him I promised my parents that I would walk and take care of him, and I have kept. that promise ever since 😆. I also enjoy pet sitting for friends and neighbors dogs/cats/guinea pigs/bearded dragons. I’m an incoming college freshman and I want to stay busy doing something fun before school starts in late September. I’m an incoming college freshman and I want to stay busy doing something fun before school starts in late September. I am essentially free every day and most of the time, the whole day. I’m also willing to wake up early or stay up late. I think it really depends on the type of pet, but for dogs I usually let them out in the morning after waking up, right before going to bed, and any time in between that they need to go. Walks will be 1-2 times a day to the park or around the neighborhood, and playing in the backyard is an option too if the dog seems interested. In a clients home it will probably be the same, or different as requested.
“Couldn't be happier with how they take care of my dog Reese. Give me good feedback and have been adaptable to my work schedule. Don't know what I would have done without them since I got Reese!”

“Grace is so amazing with our Kubo. He’s always happy to visit every week and Grace takes him on long walks to tire him out. Kubo also enjoys his overnight stays and Grace always keeps us updated with photos and messages. We would recommend Grace to any dog family!”

“Auzi had a great day with Chester and Lana. He got several walks and time at the park. He came home ready to nap and that can be hard to do. We will also be booking some boarding time with Lana. I know Auzi will be in great hands.”

“Samie loved staying with Krystal! Krystal was very communicative and sent pictures throughout the day. Samie usually takes a while to warm up to people, but by the second day, she was wagging her tail and barking as we pulled up! We will be working with Krystal again soon. :)”

“Cristina and her husband were wonderful caretakers for Cooper. He’s not demanding but is a very old dog and requires medication, compassion and understanding… He is clearly comfortable and very happy staying in their home. Cooper is always treated with kindness and affection, so he loves being with them!”

“Thank you to Lauren and Catherine for hosting my furbabies Harley and Bella! They provided exceptional care and kept me in the loop through the day. I recommend them both for anyone looking for a caring pet sitter.”

“Megha and Avi are the absolute best! Barfi is icing on the cake 🙂 This was Luna’s first day care visit ever. I was anxious about how she would do without me, but Megha and Avi made her feel right at home. They kept me updated about her with pics and videos. Gave me a report when I went to pick her up which was insightful. She had such a great time, and even came home with a bandanna! I would definitely go back with them and recommend them to other pet parents”

“Elizabeth took great care of Rio! She was very thoughtful with how she setup space for him in the house and let him sit next to her, and I appreciated her updating me throughout the day with pictures and comments. Such a nice bonus to get a portrait of Rio, too!”

Amy is fantastic! She is loving and attentive and Nova felt right at home and made fast friends with sweet Coco and the crew! Nova looks forward to her days exploring and lazing in the sun with her new pack. I would highly recommend Amy. She’s great at communication and is experienced with caring for dogs of all sizes 🐾

Words can’t fully express how grateful I am for Natasha. She cares deeply for animals and is so wise. She went out of her way to look after my pup and I couldn’t be more grateful. As a new dog owner, her wisdom and guidance put me completely at ease, she sent me updates and reassured me in many ways that he was as well taken care of, and even gave him a sweet toy. I’m so thankful to have someone like her to rely on. She truly goes above and beyond in every way—she’s one of a kind, and any pup would be lucky to be in her care. Don’t hesitate to book her; she is the absolute real deal and her passion is so tangible which is so rare to find. She’s an incredible person! Thank you, Natasha! Gemini and I appreciate you!

Eris was amazing, kind, and patient! Misty is a shy girl and it was her first time at daycare in a long time. Eris sent so many photos and videos of Misty, and you can tell she really cared about Misty. I would bring Misty back for daycare without hesitation! Thank you, Eris, for taking such good care of Misty.

Megha and Avi’s family took wonderful care of Daisy yesterday! They were patient and respectful of Daisy’s nervousness around other dogs by keeping their dog Barfi near them while giving Daisy time to explore. And true to what they said, Barfi is so sweet natured and goood! He and Daisy had a peaceful day together, Barfi taking the cue that it was enough for Daisy to share the space but not ready to play together. I got so many pictures - Megha is an amazing photographer! - that I was truly put at ease throughout the day. Looks like Daisy got lots of kind attention because she was smiling in several of the pictures and came home in such a happy mood! Communication & Scheduling:100% responsive and clear. Thank you Megha, Avi and family - and of course to Barfi too!

Samie loved staying with Krystal! Krystal was very communicative and sent pictures throughout the day. Samie usually takes a while to warm up to people, but by the second day, she was wagging her tail and barking as we pulled up! We will be working with Krystal again soon. :)

Nabil was absolutely amazing with Margoh! Very attentive and caring, and I loved all the updates and pictures that were sent throughout her stay. Communication was great, and I felt completely comfortable knowing she was in such good hands. I would definitely love to have Margoh stay with them again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful sitter!
Sandra was absolutely great. She was able to take a last-minute booking and was able to accommodate Teddy even an hour later than I originally expected to be. She was a great communicator always responding very quickly and Teddy had a great time over there. Teddy immediately felt comfortable and he went for a great walk. I will definitely be calling Sandra again.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
